1st visit, didn't take my advice, so they had to order parts. Left the clothes washer not working at all, tho we were told it was OK to do small loads. I had to troubleshoot, unplug, reset the breaker, etc. A week later, they arrived with the parts, but the tech needed help & said they would return in a day or two - 3 days later, I called and was told that it would be another 5 days before they could complete the repair. Please DO NOT waste your time with these utterly unprofessional, unethical people. I am the Resident Manager of a North Seattle Apartment building. For the first 3.5 years I have worked here, we used Apex. At that time, the service manager was a guy named Arnie. Arnie always answered the phone and got the repair people out to me in a timely manner. Then Arnie retired and everything went to hell. Their new service mgr. Lionel, was very polite at first but when things went wrong with their supposed "repair" he would not return my calls. I then tried speaking to the Manager, Bill. Again, Bill was very nice at first and then the return calls stopped. I left one message every day for a week BEGGING them to get back to me. I gave Bill days and times I would be available, but never heard from him. They came out originally to repair a dryer. The dryer was NOT repaired, and even though I left a note on the dryer for the worker to call/text me about the result, there was no call, no text. They obviously DID NOT KNOW what was wrong with the dryer and didn't want to admit it, so they just started ignoring me. If you use these people, you will end up being infuriated, so please don't waste your time or your hard-earned money. Look at all the other 1-star reviews and heed the warning. I would leave negative stars if I could. Our landlord hired them the fix our washer. Long story short they couldn't fix it so they replaced it installing it wrong so it was an active leak while I was at work for 6 hours. When they came back the guy stated "it was a rookie mistake". Welp the rookie mistake made us have to relocate (2 kids, 2 adults and 2 cats) to a hotel for 1 and a half months under then stating they would reimburse us and they didn't want to go through their insurance. Here we are almost 2 months later with no reimbursement in sight and once again they are just not responding to my calls. To give you an idea they owe me approx 10k. I'm about to the point to go sit in their office until they do the right thing which they promised they would do. Do not do business with them. read more

Never ever hire them! You probably want to hear my story before calling them. I live in a condo in downtown Seattle and i hired them to fix my freezer (ice built up) 9/18/2015: They came to fix my refrigerator 9/19~9/20 2015: I started to notice my carpet right next to kitchen was wet and the water didn't go away. (photo below) 9/21/2015: I had my facility manager came to check and then found out the water was from my kitchen. my whole kitchen was flooded, there was lots of water under my hardwood floor. We found out the water was leaking from the pipe that connecting to the freezer. There was a tiny hole on the pipe but instead of getting fixed properly, it was taped up with electric tape. So over the weekend, the water just gradually leaked out and my whole kitchen was ruined. We called them right away and asked them to come check the damage and here was their response APEX: We had nothing to do with that. We only went fix the freezer. Its the owner who made a hole on the pipe and taped it up with tape. We had nothing to do with that. And we are all booked these two days so we cannot come check. They refused to send someone to check at the damage and refused to even take any responsibility on that. I was told on the phone, they won't take any responsibility unless i sued them. Long story short. My whole kitchen was ruined and i had to replace the whole hardwood floor and some part of the wall and it cost me $8,000. Below are all the photos. The interesting part is, the company didnt charge me at that time. They didnt call, they acted like nothing happened. 6 months later, on 3/2/2016, i saw a charge from them on credit card around $ 600. It cost me $8,000 to fix my whole kitchen. I will never ever recommend them to anyone. Think twice before you call them--if things go well, lucky you. If anything happened, you will wish you found someone who is accountable and professional. read more

We used Apex a few times and the service techs are fine. The customer service department, however, is really lacking. Communication is not clear and requests are not followed though with consistently. Also, the guy in charge of the department calls repeatedly with different quotes because he made an error and needs to correct himself. The main thing that I really did not like is that they ask for credit card numbers and then they store this information in their system long term and then run it through without checking. I found this out by accident when I asked for a paper bill to be mailed to me. Instead, I get a phone call saying that "your credit card expired for some reason." That reason is probably due to the fact that I used their services almost three years prior and they had my credit card info in their system all that time. When I called them out on it, the customer service rep totally changed the subject and then reprimanded me for daring to request a paper bill. This is not a service that neither I nor most others use on a regular basis so they have absolutely no reason to store our info for years on end. I will be looking for someone else in the future who is more flexible with their payment procedures. read more

Hmmmm...who knew this place was so close to my house? Not me. I used to have a regular place I went to for parts but they closed. The bigger chains may have products but their sales folks tend to be less than knowledgeable. I did a handy dandy search on Yelp and Apex came up and of course, it was located in a strip mall that I go by constantly and is next to a number of businesses that I frequent. Duh! I had some electrical problems last week. In fact, most of my block did and there was some talk about some kind of massive surge that impacted nearly everyone in single family dwellings. In my case, my dryer broke. Luckily, it was just a fuse. Just a fuse? My partner insisted that we go to another store first. Fine. When we got there not only did they not have the part, but they recommended Apex. Boom. I got to give the whole "I told you that Yelp is where it's at" speech. Again. I found the staff members helpful, friendly, and likable. My partner engaged the sales person in a conversation about what happened and I liked that he attempted to very softly, help to verify that was the problem by asking questions. He wasn't being pushy, bossy, or condescending but seemed genuinely concerned that it was accurately diagnosed so that we bought the right part. It was exactly what we needed. Quite the gem of a place hiding in plain sight in my neighborhood. I love! read more

This is really a 2.5 star review. I eventually rounded down based on realizing I have hard feelings about our transaction. The pros: They came when they said they would. I am confident the repair person knew what he was doing. My dryer and fridge seem to be working as designed The cons: It took about a week to get an appointment. I don't mind providing a card in advance, but they couldn't give me any indication of how much the work would cost The service person couldn't tell me, when he was done, how much I had spent. I had to wait for the bill. This is a bullshit process for many obvious reasons. It was really pretty expensive. It took 90 minutes start to finish - most of that was him using a steamer to unfreeze a sheet of ice. They replaced a six inch piece of tubing and a plastic pulley that they probably paid five dollars for. My bill was 261.33 before tax. They charged me 21.38 for a pulley I probably could have gotten at Lowes RETAIL for next to free. Service call was 89.95. Labor was 100.00. Additional service (basically another labor charge) was 50.00 and that pulley for 21.38. 240.00 for 90 minutes labor? Sorry - that is a pretty unreasonable deal. Probably this is why they would not tell me in advance how much the repairs would cost. Lots of options out there. I will use someone else next time. I try to give my money to small businesses - maybe that is a mistake in this instance. read more

I didn't expect to find so many glowing reviews.. even though they deserve it. I thought I'd discovered this place all by myself! After an exhaustive internet search for a small shelf support peg for my Whirlpool refrigerator, I finally ordered one from a NY parts house. They were the least expensive in the range of $17-27 for this little screw-like piece of plastic. It seemed particularly absurd that this little piece was so expensive, but without it, the refrigerator bin was useless. Then I decided to renew my search for a local source. I had actually dreamed about how to replace the part, which had proved reluctant to separate from the refrigerator liner wall. Somehow, after rejecting other expensive options, the bread crumbs led me to Apex and I gave them a call. By the time I hung up, the salesperson and I were laughing together as he tried to get the exact specifications from me. Same price, but no wait. They put one on hold and I drove up to the shop. I tried to figure out which guy had talked to me on the phone, as I had really appreciated his patience and humor. Meanwhile, someone looked up my order, glanced at the invoice and said: "That's ridiculous!" I knew he was referring to the price when he said he wanted to look through the parts to see if he had something else. He commented that Whirlpool used to be a great company to deal with, but in his eyes they had fallen from grace. In a minute or 2, he came back to the counter, compared his new find with the Whirlpool part (they are identical) and said: "How about $5.95?" They have earned my undying loyalty. read more

The owner, Bob and the other two men I dealt with through the course of ordering my part for my range were all helpful and courteous. When I called in (twice) to talk to someone about the part I would need, I was helped and felt like I was valued as a customer. I explained to the man on the phone that I intended to install the part myself and he didn't pressure me to buy their service. When I picked up the part, one of the men told me I could call the shop if I had trouble installing it myself. Very nice of them! The price for the part was comparable to online prices and the part came in same-day which was a BIG BONUS! Tip: The electronic parts are non-returnable once they have been installed. If the part you order is packaged incorrectly they will exchange for the correct part. If you give them the model # and part # there is no reason you should receive an incorrect part. Thanks Apex for making my oven part shopping as painless as could be! I'll keep you in mind for the next time I need a part or service. Amazing customer service. Asked for a part. "We can have it this afternoon. But whats it doing?" I describe the problem. "We have a rebuild kit for that." Price difference? $70. Gave clear and accurate instructions while I was at the store. Went home, took five minutes thanks to the extra five minutes Bob spent helping me at the store. All said and done they saved me either $70 or a $30 and a week of waiting for a part. That on top of offering information I couldn't find anywhere on the internet and having a seemingly nonexistent part on the shelf. read more

At 3:00 today - I called and talked to Jim to find out getting repair for my Maytag washer - the service guy, Jim, on the phone asked if I knew the model # to see if parts were still available for washer which is now defunct by co. Maytag that was bought by Whirlpool. He helped me troubleshoot after hearing my problem with the washer - "syphoning and hose problem to trigger the "syphon switch"? I thought the phone service was very helpful... now I need to do my part. 1) He gave me estimate of "possible" fix if replacing the timer was truly the problem... they'd have to come out and look ... $150 for the part??? don't know if that included service. 2) OR do I need to call a plumber and get the right hoses (corrugated OR rubber ) we want rubber! .... for the water release hoses... probably need the plumber to come and clean out my pipes! I'm glad he was helping me on the phone before having to call them out to find out the problem and being charged.... I call this good pre-service. 3) OR I'll see if I want to buy a new one or fix this 15 yr. old washer. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-== UPDATE 4:30 p.m. - After running different programs on the washer and describing my problem, I've decided to use Jim's recommendation and call Raymark (plumber) to come out and trouble shoot the "rinse / syphon" drain problem. IF this is the solution - then I say KUDOS to JIM for GREAT SERVICE! I will definitely use them again. read more

I've been using Apex for a couple decades for appliance sales, replacements and service. Usually very prompt and efficient in the first category (sales and delivery). Unfortunately, based on my last 4-5 service calls, they are critically understaffed in the service department - consistently booking out more than a week. Perhaps they're trying to hire and there's a shortage in the labor market? Still, this needs to improve to be competitive and keep my business. I had to use another provider this last round and they were out the day after my request. read more

Can I give 6 stars? First of all when i went to purchase my dryer and range the sales man was great, no pressure and he was honest. Prices were good and I'm comfortable with the fact i have a 90 day warranty. Patrick and George delivered them today and they were awesome. I called and explained my problem and asked if it was fixable. They guy on the phone told me what he thinks the problem is and explained the repair as well as the cost, then he also gave me worst-case scenario. I was able to get an appointment first thing the next morning. They guy that showed up arrived early and even called ahead. He was polite and wasted no time finding the problem and fixing it. When he was done he explained everything that he had done. He told me to call back if I have any more problems. read more

So my gas dryer busts. No heat. Major bummer. Wife says to buy a new one. After all, it's almost 20 years old. Of course, we'd need to "update" the washer too...serious cash which would cut into my Maui and Mexican food fund. Then I call Apex, speak with Bob...SUPER nice. He talks me through the problem. Says it's usually the solenoid that goes. I head in to the store where he pulls out a demo model and walks me through the repair process. Sells me two solenoids for $25 bucks and I slap them in with nary a skinned knuckle. 15 minutes later, my clothes are happily drying away. Thanks, Bob! You saved me a MAJOR expense! Called them at 8:30am Monday morning to find a part for my broken furnace. Said they would have the part by 2:30 or 3pm same day. Wonderful. At 12:30pm they call to say that they won't have the part until Thursday maybe, "uh, I guess somebody dropped your order or it was bought from under us, we got busy this morning". Consider this when you are trying to repair your furnace, and your cold family is threatening to move to a hotel. I should be thankful they called back at least. Otherwise very pissed that I burned half the day on their broken promises when I could have spent the time finding the part elsewhere. I found the part at Reliable Parts in Tacoma. A long drive for me but worth it to give my money to a professional outfit. Will call them first next time. read more

Our oven baking element went out Friday night. So I called one of the big box store's to get a replacement. I remember when that was an option. They informed me that they no longer carried them but that a store down the road probably did, but they were not open on the weekend. So Monday I called and they had the part and would hold it for me. Picked it up and got some good advice on how to proceed with the replacement. It was information that I was aware of but they took their time just in case. Got home and had it in and working after less than 15minutes. read more

The service was friendly, professional, and on-time for both visits (first visit to diagnose problems, second to bring parts and perform repairs). For my washer/dryer, they were able to get some parts that are no longer made (and I had previously searched for online). After the first visit, I was called and given the exact total cost for the parts and repairs. The service guy did a great job and fixed a couple problems I didn't even ask about. Right when I was ready to hear him say he could order one, he nicely said that his competitor down the street probably has one, AND GAVE ME HIS NUMBER ! I've had Apex Appliance repair my old GE washer/dryer stack 2-3 times over the last 10 years. Two years ago, they came out and ruled that the repair would be so cost prohibitive ($500) and that I should get a new machine. I asked the technician what he would recommend if cost was no object, and he said I should get a made in USA, Speed Queen, that comes with an "industry-best 5 year warranty that covers all parts and in-home labor". I did my own research, and signed up! Apex was happy to sell me a $3,000 stacked washer/dryer. They did an excellent job delivering the 425lbs beast without putting a single scratch into my hardwood floor. During the hookup, they did forget to mention that I was missing a second 120V 15 Amp outlet, so I had to call a handyman after and get it installed. No big deal! Fast forward to December 2017, and I notice a very minor water leak from the washer's front door. I email Speed Queen, and they told me to work with Apex Appliance (the seller) for the warranty repair. I call Apex Appliance and they tell me that they are happy to come out, but that I will have to pay their service charge and labor, since Speed Queen would cover only parts. Apex Appliance is not an approved Speed Queen distributor, and should've never sold the machine to me in the first place. I went back to Speed Queen, and after some back and forth emails, I get a phone call from Bill at Apex: "Hi, we are ready to repair your washer free of charge. Speed Queen will pay for parts and labor". We schedule an appointment for Tuesday, January 21. The Sunday before the appointment, the igniter on my GE oven goes out ($20 part + 10 minutes of labor). I call Apex and ask them if it would be okay to ask the technician to do the repair after he is done with the Speed Queen warranty work, and Jim says: "Just talk to the technician. If he is up for it and has the part, he will do it". The technician came out, and ruled that the leak on the washer was happening due to some debris accumulation under the door, and simply wiping it down occasionally will take care of the problem. I asked the technician to replace the igniter, and he grabbed the igniter from his van, and was done with the swap in 15 minutes. Next day, I get a call from Bill at Apex with a grand total of $208.89. My jaw dropped. I said: "Bill, why are you charging me for the entire appointment? I thought Speed Queen is going to reimburse you for coming out. I'm happy to pay for the part and labor ($109.95)" At this point, Bill flipped out. He started raising his voice and said: "I see how it is! You don't want to pay us for our work. Do you have any idea what it costs to get a person to your location??? Fine! I will charge you $109.95, but I NEVER WANT TO WORK WITH YOU EVER AGAIN! Please give me your credit card, so we can be done with this". Can you believe this??! Little did Bill know, I didn't want to work with him since that call in December, when he blew me off after selling me a $3k washer and not wanting to stand by the guarantee. I bet they charged Speed Queen for the service call, and wanted to charge me too. The technicians and installers at Apex are great people, but the management are a bunch of shysters and customer service is a foreign concept to them. If you live in downtown Seattle, just search for "appliance repair" and there are lots of reputable companies. Our 260 owner condo complex won't be using their services anymore. read more

I've been in there a half dozen times over the last 15 years for parts and they always offer good solid advice about the appliance that has failed. When I called them today, their incoming message said to press 2 for sales--I'm going in there the next time I need to replace an appliance. Well, I needed a heating element on a difficult model of an oven- difficult because the maker doesn't really like to put the model # in an easy place to find. Apex, knew how to "find" it- with a handy dandy trick using chalk- yes, chalk. He told me that the manufacture doesn't make the model and it is impossible to repair, which turned out to be wrong.
