We arrived at our favorite resort yesterday and had a 4:15 p.m. reservation for an early dinner. Upon arrival, the hostess greeted us warmly, and we were seated immediately in a large, comfortable booth in the dining room behind the bar area. She was friendly and professional from the moment we arrived until we left, making us feel truly appreciated as guests. We shared our favorite cocktail, the Lavender Lemon Drop, which was once again fresh, refreshing, and absolutely delicious. For our appetizer, we ordered the Filet Mignon Meatballs. My husband enjoyed the Chicken Parm served with linguine, and I had the Shrimp Parm with linguine. Every dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and thoroughly enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service from our server this time was not as attentive as it was during our visit two months ago with a different server. While the hostess provided outstanding, and courteous service, the same could not be said of our server. The difference in the level of hospitality was noticeable and somewhat disappointing. We have eaten at Mazzeo's before and the restaurant has a huge local following. It was across from our resort and is very convenient. The restaurant ambiance is a traditional nice dark wood and brass trim environment. We decided to order their grilled Halibut special over potato gnocchi. Very Delicious. As for their service, that was the weak point of the meal. Our server was not very friendly and customer driven. When we noticed other tables being taken care of more professionally, an example was when we asked for some EVOO for our bread and the server brings us an oil/vinegar rack used for salads. Other tables were given their special EVOO garlic upgrade. Overall the food was prepared perfectly by their kitchen culinary staff. Thank you. Ambiance was good as was the salmon. Veal was way too chewy for my liking. The second time was no better.

Pretty awesome place. They hosted our party of 20 with ease. We were in one of their private rooms. A bit squishy but not too bad. Our waitress Jessica was amazing. We had a 1.5year old and should be having dinner as we started to order. We asked if she can have the chicken tenders and fries out right away and she was like yes, absolutely. And indeed, we got that. She was such a sweetheart! For the food and drinks, everything was pretty good. I would prefer that the sauce for the zuppa di pesce to be thicker, but beside that everyone really enjoyed their food. The portions were large and we had leftovers. We had a free night and decided to try Mazzeo's. What a pleasant experience. The first we noticed on the menu was that we can get half portions which for us is great I had a seafood medley which had so much seafood such as shrimps, lobster pieces , scallops cooked to perfection. Small town, big taste! In an area that's not flooded with Italian options, Mazzeo's probably has the area's hearts. I can't speak to others since this was a short visit to the area, but the options, portions, service, space and parking are plenitful! You may want to make reservations and have a nice outfit if you plan to go because it's crowded and people dress nicely. Clearly, this is a locals' hangout. Because it's huge and it's busy. But it did not have the quality of food I was hoping or expecting. The service was great. And they had gluten free rolls ($2 each for a tiny dinner roll) which I appreciate. But the side of asparagus was so burnt it was acrid. And the rest of the food felt very thrown together without any care, or much flavor. My sidekick loved the meatballs, but I thought they were very heavy and tasteless. HUGE. Tremendous portion of ravioli (that's the photo that looks like red soup with cheese. They're underneath.) that he enjoyed. I thought the marsala had WAY more pasta, without sauce, under 2 small pieces of overcooked veal. I'm guessing it depends on what you get there. But it wasn't cheap, and I wouldn't go there again. Great service, good food and a special dessert. Tuesday night dinner. Made a reservation and arrived shortly before. We were seated quickly and the service was great from start to finish. Drinks, appetizer, dinners all came appropriately timed. Food was very good and so we ordered the chocolate piano to go. My wife loves chocolate and was not disappointed. Took the both of us and two days to eat that one dessert. Great experience and we will be back when in the area. read more

I've heard that you can judge an Italian restaurant by The quality of their Bolognese. Well, Mazzeo's Bolognese was bland and tasteless. The pasta was mushy. And who does a Bolognese in a vodka sauce in the first place? So disappointing as we love the quality of their meat at Guidos. read more

Outstanding. My wife and I were there having a relaxing dinner, after driving 3 hours from Rhode Island to enjoy a great meal with our son who lives in Pittsfield. Service was quick and efficient, our server Jason took command of all that was required to make our early evening meal special for each of us. Needless to say each of our meals were superb, from our son's salmon to my wife's chicken parm to my very special lasagna and unbelievable short rib main course. And if that wasn't enough (it really was, but hey) we followed it all with three terrific deserts: cookies & cream gelato, my tiramisu, and my wife's chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. Presentation of the desserts was a visual treat, a fitting accompaniment to the wonderful tastes and mix of textures of each. But wait, there's more - Jason was made aware of the other reason for our dinner, which was my wife's birthday. When my wife was presented with her dessert (with a lit candle no less) the Mazzeo's wait staff all joined my son and I with serenading my wife with a joyful rendition of "Happy Birthday!" Everyone was clapping - a great way to wrap up our meal. So thank you to our son Joseph for making it a special birthday, and with all the prearrangements made with Brittany. We recently had dinner here, and were thoroughly pleased. I had the sea scallops over lobster risotto, and my wife had the salmon. Both dishes were prepared perfectly, the lobster risotto was one of the best risottos I've ever had. We decided to get dessert as well, lava cake and a cannoli. Both were excellent as well. One of the best meals I've eaten in quite a while. Service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend. read more

Wonderful experience. Food: The food here is exceptional. Very much home cooked but it's a step up from Grandma's kitchen. We started with the mushrooms stuffed with garlic butter and tempura friend, but oh so light. Flavor exceptional. I could have had another portion, but there was dinner to come! For the main, we had the shrimp and pasta which was outstanding. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Feta was fresh and tasty. Shrimp perfectly grilled, 10/10. The other main was cheese stuffed ravioli in a cream sauce with mushrooms and truffle oil. Also a perfect fish. I'd say a 9/10. Alas, we had no room for dessert. Ambiance: The place is beautiful. The staff is friendly and everyone could not have been nicer or more welcoming. We could up each summer and this is on our yearly "to do" list. We got a fireplace table which was wonderful. Service: The service was impeccable. Ian took wonderful care of us. Value: We thought the prices were so fair. Wine by the glass was excellent and well-priced. We really liked that we could get 1/2 orders of the pasta; we've eaten too much already on this vacation. Parking is great and all in all a wonderful experience. Despite passing Mazzeo's a million times, we had never been there. On a warm August 2023 day, we made a reservation and pulled into a gigantic parking lot that even had a tour bus waiting.. we entered to learn that besides the many huge dining rooms, there were parties being held in Banquet rooms as well. It's been decades since I have been in a huge, carpeted dining room where waitstaff carry overloaded trays of plates & stem wear.. big round tables, lots of conversations & laughter. There is a smaller outdoor patio with tables & umbrella's but in the heat or possible rain, indoors is a safe choice. I appreciated that they serve 1/2 portions and the price was more than reasonable. Incredibly reasonable now that I am re glancing at the menu to write this review. The menu is grouped as a traditional Italian menu would be, from Antipasti to Insalati to Contorni to Primi & finally Secondi. Of course, there need not be an order to your meal, but it does allow you to easily decipher the items easily. I adored the 1/2 Linguini Zuppa Di Pesce, filled with shrimp, scallops, calamari, clams & a bit of lobster in the white wine & garlic sauce. More than plenty, I took 1/2 of the 1/2 portion home. Melissa had the shrimp & linguini, also excellent with leftovers. The service was excellent even though there was an army of people dining at the same time. While it's not the open, bright, modern atmosphere that I tend to enjoy, I can see returning for special occasions & with a larger group as the round tables are a huge plus when dining with lots of people. Wonderful restaurant with great food and great service. Every dish is excellent. Always listen carefully to the specials of the day. If one catches your interest then order it. You can get the regular menu items anytime. Prime rib was tender and served at the requested and perfect medium rare temperature. Veal Newberg was different and very tasty. If you are staying for dessert and want to try something memorable order the chocolate piano. It will be special. read more

This place won me over. Our waitress (a blonde girl with shoulder length hair and glasses) was literally perfect. She had great recommendations and even accommodated my boyfriend's affogato dessert request. The highlights were definitely the calamari and the seafood risotto. The calamari was perfectly cooked - crisp on the outside and soft/juicy on the inside. And the risotto had an amazing seafood flavor with very sizable chunks of scallop and shrimp. So insanely good. I went home from dinner with leftovers and had to crack into them an hour after getting home. It's that good. The inside is very romantic-feeling/dimly lit and seems perfect for a date night or special occasion. read more

The place was a complete zoo (Sat night so I get it it just left a general feel of chaos) locals were catered to over visitors on such an obvious manner it was insulting. The first drink I was served tasted like chemicals, my salad was swimming in enough dressing for 2 salads that was made with enough garlic for 10 salads, dinner also swimming in sauce with pasta that was overcooked and chicken cutlet that was inedible due to being over cooked. My companion enjoyed their meal. Server and other waitstaff were inattentive at best. Getting a glass of water was a struggle and no one cared at all that I couldn't eat my dinner. read more

We tried everything my husband got the chicken parm over polenta delicious. We got an order of steamers the broth was perfection. We also got braised ribs, seafood dish, chicken with pesto, and pasta with sausage, excellent. Finally, dessert tiramisu and chocolate lava cake highly recommend everything. Have been here many times. Always great service, delicious food with generous portions. Never disappointed.

Food was good, but not excellent. Service was poor. We were not told about specials, we didn't receive any bread basket like other tables, and no grated cheese was offered. We only saw our waitress 3 times in the whole hour and a half that we were there so no second glass of wine or even a spoon to mix the pasta. Had to ask the busboys if you wanted anything. She was busy doing place settings on the patio while we were waiting to order. Some tables were getting good service while our area seemed to be in a "grey zone". Noise level was moderately high, but considering the number of people it was acceptable. read more

The pasta is always awesome, the Chicken Parmesan is to die for, the salads are cold, crisp, and fresh, the vegetables were delightful, and the fresh bread was crunch y on the exterior, and soft and fluffy on the interior. Some favorites for our dining party were the stuffed mushrooms, the spaghetti and meatballs, fettuccine Alfredo, Chicken Parmesan, and the lasagna. Always a great experience. Exciting news since a few years ago now you can get it to go for pickup or you can get it delivered through a 3rd party food delivery app on your phone. Vile! Have they no pride?! That's called Caesar Salad?! Chopped romaine with fake grated "cheese" and dressing from a 55 gallon drum. Pasta so mushy I walked to the men's room so as to not spit it into my (quite nice) cloth napkin! Had it not been for the clean, fairly gracious setting and the eager (if very unprofessional) staff, I'd give this zero stars. But for what's "on the plate"? NEGATIVE STARS! On a Saturday night only an hour after they opened this place was already packed! We did not have a reservation as they had only opened an hour prior but the girl at the host stand was phenomenal. She was making magic happen and was able to get us a table. Our food overall was delicious and perfect Italian food. Appetizers we got the special, a short rib filled ravioli with mushroom, onions and blue cheese crumbles. Chefs kiss delicious!!!! Mozzarella balls were fried balls of joy. So good paired with the marinara sauce. Garlic bread with cheese was one of the best versions of garlic bread I have ever had. The sauce they put with it to dip was just a perfect pairing, light and seasoned. Chicken parm had cheese melted on the top and the bottom. Breaded and baked wonderfully. Thick pieces and juicy. Sauce was good pairing. It also reheated well the next day! Parmesan crusted cod with lobster risotto which was the star of the dish. Could eat a bowl of the risotto itself! The Parmesan was like a large chip put on its side against it, overall it was a great pair with the cod and risotto. The waitress we had was rude and made some awful comments about "no one wanting to share" like it was a bad thing we all got our own meals. She just gave us a really bad vibe and didn't have any pleasantries. The girl who filled our waters was adorable and very nice! read more
