Linguini Zuppa Di Pesce (med spicy)

Pretty awesome place. They hosted our party of 20 with ease. We were in one of their private rooms. A bit squishy but not too bad. Our waitress Jessica was amazing. We had a 1.5year old and should be having dinner as we started to order. We asked if she can have the chicken tenders and fries out right away and she was like yes, absolutely. And indeed, we got that. She was such a sweetheart! For the food and drinks, everything was pretty good. I would prefer that the sauce for the zuppa di pesce to be thicker, but beside that everyone really enjoyed their food. The portions were large and we had leftovers. We all wanted different things so we didnt order family style. Overall, and amazing dinner and absolutely amazing service!

We came for the special Pan Roasted Halibut Over House Made Potato Gnocchi, Grilled Asparagus & Lobster Butter Sauce. This dish was so fresh and delicious. The Halibut was roasted perfectly. The Gnocchi were done perfectly. The waitress we had was okay. We sat at a high top table. The bar area was busy.

Small town, big taste! In an area that's not flooded with Italian options, Mazzeo's probably has the area's hearts. I can't speak to others since this was a short visit to the area, but the options, portions, service, space and parking are plenitful! You may want to make reservations and have a nice outfit if you plan to go because it's crowded and people dress nicely. I wish I took photos of the bread and meal, but my standout photo opportunity came with the dessert.

Clearly, this is a locals' hangout. Because it's huge and it's busy. But it did not have the quality of food I was hoping or expecting. The service was great. And they had gluten free rolls ($2 each for a tiny dinner roll) which I appreciate. But the side of asparagus was so burnt it was acrid. And the rest of the food felt very thrown together without any care, or much flavor. My sidekick loved the meatballs, but I thought they were very heavy and tasteless. HUGE. Tremendous portion of ravioli (that's the photo that looks like red soup with cheese. They're underneath.) that he enjoyed. I thought the marsala had WAY more pasta, without sauce, under 2 small pieces of overcooked veal. I'm guessing it depends on what you get there. But it wasn't cheap, and I wouldn't go there again. Sorry.

Ambiance was good as was the salmon. Veal was way too chewy for my liking. The second time was no better.

Good food, large portions, friendly staff. A lot of seafood options. This place is always busy, so make sure to have a reservation.

Does the restaurant have a cigar lounge?

No cigar lounge. Outdoor seating available during summer.

What is the dress attire? Casual, or Black tie?

I've dined here with jeans, a collared shirt and sneakers. I also dined here with a sport jacket and khakis. I fit right in both times. Black tie or suits would be unusual.

Walking through the restaurant it was very dark - I understand wanting a romantic ambience but this was too dark. We opted to sit outdoors which was lovely - a beautiful evening. Our server was very nice but there was some confusion about our beer order. My husband told her what he wanted, but then told her he wanted it with his meal. She said it was ordered already (goes directly from her portal to the bartender) so it is probably on the bar waiting for her. She brought it to us right away because she didn't want it to get warm on the bar, but then it sat outside and got warm while we waited an extraordinarily long time for our meal. I know that the website says everything is made to order and takes a while but this seemed like way too long. Then when it arrived the lasagne that my husband had was very dark on top as if it was burned - like it had been reheated under a burner. My eggplant lasagne was delicious. No complaints there. And our Siberatas salad was very good. I would like to go back and give it another try since everyone else seems to have a good experience.

I've actually never been asked that before. I guess I've assumed that the kitchen would prepare the dish properly. Does anyone order salmon well done? It came out medium and delicious. We asked if it would be authentic and after waiter mentioned Baileys or crème d menthe we should have stopped there. So disappointing, but our own fault.

They have a changing menu, and I was able to try their pizza, grilled zucchini, arugula salad and grilled sea bass finished with white wine. Everything was excellent, and at bargain prices. They do not serve alcohol but they told us we could bring our own bottle of wine to go with dinner, which is awesome. I saw that there were homemade desserts, which I have totally added to my list and will have to try sometime. I would advise calling ahead of you have your heart set of eating there. There is literally one table and like 4 barstool window seats. I saw them have to turn down multiple groups just because there wasn't room. I hope they utilize the space and arrange a few smaller tables, as I think they could totally accommodate it! I hated seeing them lose the business since it was so good! Can't wait to go back!

The mussels I was served were inedible, and I brought the issue to the staff expecting that it could be handled calmly and professionally. Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward conversation turned into an unpleasant confrontation. The manager, Nicole, came to our table after I complained about the mussels, which were inedible because half were unopened. She contradicted me, but finally had the offending mussels removed from the bill. No one came to collect the check, so I got up to pay at the bar. Suddenly the owner (who would not tell me his name) appeared out of nowhere and violently ripped the bill from my hands. He started yelling and threatening me. I was shocked by his behavior, especially given that I had raised a legitimate concern about a dish I could not eat. I was able to wrest the bill from him to sign, while he continued to yell, actually screaming that he was "Latino". Not sure what he meant by that. He then followed me back to our table where we all collected our belongings, all while he stood over us in a threatening manner. A restaurant can make a mistake--bad food happens. What matters is how management responds when a customer brings that mistake to their attention. In this case, I felt intimidated rather than heard, and the situation could have been resolved easily with a simple acknowledgment of the problem. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The food issue was disappointing, but the owner's threatening behavior was what ultimately made this experience totally unacceptable.

Warm beautiful dining room with a wood burning fireplace, with a fire going, on a chilly night. Ann, our server was perfect. Both were tasty and they also said popovers are coming. Another staff appeared with a piping hot fresh baked basket of popovers and gave us each one. It didn't even need butter. Amazing. It felt like being in a bakery in Italy or Europe. Next, our apps and salads arrived. The calamari was tasty, as was the mushroom beignets. Our food fell on it's face. We went based on a personal recommendation and backed by YELP reviews. This was my first big disappointment on YELP. We ordered bruschetta and meatballs for apps. Bruschetta was a bit too charred but ok. Meatballs arrived.... Gray balls sitting on ricotta and oil with an herb and shallot crumble. Meatballs were meh and topping was bitter like burnt garlic and onion. Table bread, delicious. Beverages, delicious. Entrees we were split 50/50. Eggplant parm was very tasty and red sauce tasted fresh and well seasoned. My chicken marsala with creamy polenta was very disappointing. Instead of marsala forward it tasted of mushroom gravy, chicken dry with hard edges and polenta you could cut and chase chunks around the plate. Not a bit like polenta should be. Dessert was warm ricotta cake with gelato. Gelato was essential to this dessert as the lemon sauce was so intensely tart and sour it was near inedible without some buffering by the gelato.
