My mom lived in Riverside for over 50 years and she has used Mark Ballard of MB Plumbing, Heating and Air for years. She always told me how wonderful he was, but I got to experience it first hand when her heater wasn't working in March. He came out personally to help my mom, and made her feel special--like family, when he spent time listening to her. They replaced the heater within 24 hours (which was a blessing as my mom got very cold easily) and even put in a new A/C at a GREAT price since her appliances were old. Sadly, I lost my mom in April, and Mark was so kind to come back out to fix a shower fixture a week ago and he had to go to 3 places to find a part and was there all day and went ABOVE AND BEYOND. Mark and his staff are always professional and polite. I had a leaking valve on my outdoor pool shower and I had been using a bucket to catch the water. This got old having to empty a five gallon bucket on a daily basis. I called and Mark Ballard himself personally came and took care of it for me. As a minority and first-generation immigrant woman, I often experience overpriced quotations from contractors or technicians. I read a lot of reviews and research after our tenants texted us about an A/C issue on a late Friday afternoon. All A/C repair companies that work 7 days a week charge very high fees. Some of them even had very bad reviews from our neighbors on Nextdor or Facebook. Despite this, the earliest appointment I could get was on Tuesday. We actually used this company a few years ago to replace our HVAC system on a two story house we lived in, I must've forgotten to review at the time! I've recommended this company to several people over the past few years and will continue to. They were professional and punctual, and did the work at HALF the cost other companies bid (our system went out on Memorial Day, so I'm sure the other companies were trying to gouge us since we needed to replaced immediately during the summer.) After they completed the work, they cleaned up everything and left the house and garage exactly how they found it. Have had the setup for just over a month, so have been able to test the heating, tankless water heater, and today it got above the 90 degree mark, so now have been able to see how the A/C works when needed. All have been working great, and so glad I had the furnace/air handler moved to the garage. Combined with the variable speed motor on the air handler, I can barely hear it running, and I even have the door right next to it open into the house from garage. read more

We needed a complete replacement of our HVAC as the house we moved into had a 30 year old system. Gabriel came out and explained a lot of details and answered all of my questions. Later that day he gave me a quote that was better than two other companies that had come out (always get at least 3 quotes and negotiate price). The whole system; outside compressor, furnace, new ducts was put in in just a couple days and the quality of work was excellent. They've got good guys working for them. I've waited a few weeks to write the review to make sure the system works good and it's excellent. I called on Saturday when my air conditioner stopped working. I was told they were busy, as I expected they would be, and I scheduled an appointment for the following Tuesday. I was called the day before by the company to verify my appointment for the following day, which I did. I was given a 2-hour window for when the tech would arrive. Along came Tuesday and the tech never showed. I called the company and was told I was next on the schedule, but this was already more than 20 minutes after my 2-hour window and it would still be a while before anyone would be at my house. I waited 4 days, the company had a 2-hour window and I was never even given a courtesy call that the tech was going to be late. It seems as though my time meant nothing to them and I will not do business with a company like that, especially when there are so many highly rated competitors so close. read more

We had a furnace/heat pump that was 31 years old. I kept avoiding having it serviced because I know it was going to be a full replacement. My wife called and MB came out the same evening we called. They offered to do a quick fix for a switch that had gone bad, gave us an option to replace the furnace alone or to do the whole system. The AC unit itself was 12 years old and it made sense to me to do it all at once. No haggle pricing, very upfront and they use good units. They had an install cancel and we were able to have our system installed the next day. Technicians showed up on time and completed the install that day. Our heater quit working and we called another company out first who told us our heater could not be fixed and that we needed a new unit which would cost us 7k. And of course charge us a service call of $65. We then called MB Plumbing and they sent Warren out who has 30 plus years of experience and he fixed our heater for $189. Wow! What a difference. First, let me start by saying amazing service! My puppy ripped out my wiring on my AC unit, and it's the start of that Southern California summer heat. Called around and of course everyone is booked solid for a couple weeks, but I explained the situation the office and they said they could have someone out the very next day, hallelujah! Gabriel came out last Saturday after the 115 degree heat on Friday afternoon blew A/C fuses twice. To my surprise, I was able to secure an appointment quickly! Everyone from the office staff to the technicians has been nothing courteous and professional. After living in our home for 7 years we decided to have our HVAC tuned before the summer heat kicked in. Apparently, you should have everything serviced regularly. MB was able to schedule an appt for two days after I called and Gabriel arrived on time. He assessed the condition of the system and even identified a fault in the A/C drain which had been routed back into itself. I had the pleasure of speaking with Mark this morning. I told him I needed somebody to come out ASAP! He said that he can have somebody out between 12:00pm-3:00pm. I asked him if he can have somebody come out earlier he said maybe 12:00pm. I said okay.... He called me back within 5minutes and said he would have somebody out in 15 minutes! Five stars all the way. Our air conditioner went down during the recent hot and humid week in the middle of June. Mark and David came to our home and they were very professional and polite! Within minutes, the problem was diagnosed and probably less than thirty minutes, the job was done. I was afraid it would be the compressor, but thankfully, it was not. The job was done at a very reasonable and fair price. No games, no BS, just great business! As a matter of fact, these guys weren't our first choice, nor our second choice. They were our 5th choice when it came to repairing our A/C. They are now definitely our number one choice from now on. All other choices were "five stars" themselves, but MB were the only ones that came through. One business didn't want to talk to anybody for a week, another couldn't figure out if they took credit cards or not, the other was more interested in selling me a membership and the fourth had a basic voicemail that sounded unappealing.
