I really enjoyed this pub. It wasn't exactly Irish when I came in and they were blaring country music... but it is Texas lol. They didn't have any servers when we went in... which is kind of weird but I guess is their way of saving money at the cost of customer service. The fried jalapeños were really good though. I also got a quesadilla... which was fantastic by the way. Big thing that makes me not want to come back was they were doing some stuff in the ceiling tiles right next to us as we were eating and all the dust came flying out. Luckily we were done eating but the manager didn't say anything to anyone about it before they started doing it. He did ask people to move after a few minutes but come on.... read more

Well let me tell you this place is pretty close to amazing but it's not quite heaven. The bartender Brittany seems to be very flirty in a great way and also a terrible way I'm fairly positive that she's flirting with everybody else here and not just me at first I thought I had a chance however now I'm still very lonely and drunk. I'm hoping that she still will call me cuz she said she would. The music is awesome because I'm in charge of the Jukebox. That's right folks there's a new kid in town. Well I don't know how long they've been open but the bar still smells fresh & the bathrooms hasn't succumbed to phone numbers & who loves who. They did I very nice remodel, it's opened up plenty of bar seating. OH and even better there's light in the bar. Fooseball, pool, & air hockey for your enjoyment. I went on a sunday during happy hour, a nice arrangement of tvs. If it's slow then the bartender will plug in their ipod and you can jam out to some tunes without dropping your lifesavings in that god-forsaken internet jukebox. As far drink prices, they were pretty reasonable $7 dom. pitchers and other specials. I'm not sure if just Sunday or daily specials. The bartender was great, she had some friends chillin and drinking and yet still took care my entourage. Which is a plus, nothing can be more irritating when you get passed up on service cuz they have regulars. So thumbs up on the staff. Outside patio for you nicotine addicts, nothing special just a quaint pation with some tables & chairs. I'm usually leery about new bars that open up in past notable establishment. McFinnigan's you have earned two thumbs up in my book. So if you looking for a new bar to check out then stop on by and have a scotch or an Irish car bomb. Oh and no food, but I saw a couple of bar patrons get pizza delivered from a local joint. So I'm guessing they might have a partnership with the pizza place and you can order at the bar. read more

My husband and I came here for the first time around 5pm on a Tuesday randomly because we were in the area. We read the great reviews and decided to give it a shot. Tale as old as time..do not judge a book by it's cover. The outside is a little skeevy but on the inside...it's the bar you've been looking for your entire life. Brick and appropriately dark green interior with wooden tables and chairs. The bar is epically functional because it is a unique and wonderful masterpiece. We had bartender, Taylor. She was a sweetheart who qualified as the perfect bartender. It's an amazing hole in the wall bar that makes us wish we lived closer so we could make it "our bar". The music was great. Just do it! Go to this bar. If you don't like it that probably just means you have really bad taste in bars. read more

Whether you are looking for a chill happy hour spot or a fun new nighttime hangout, Mcfinnigans is the place. Its always fun and laid back and they have great specials. There are 2 great restaurants next door (a Thai place and a pizza place) for your happy hour snacks or dinner. If you're lucky you may even stop by when the owner is cooking up something delicious!! I just started hanging out here and I definitely like the new look from the old Blanco Tavern. It just seems so new and bright and open now as Christa said earlier. I like that some of the old Roxy crowd comes out here now, so I don't have to drive as far to see friends. The service is relatively quick, even on busier nights, and remains friendly. First off, this bar is as Irish as the Boston Celtics roster. And it's not a "pub," it's a sports bar with one large cavernous-feeling room that has always been 90% empty every time I've been there. Probably not a bad spot to catch a game, and it's wasn't a bad bar, per se, I just never felt really relaxed or at ease there unless I'm carting around a group looking to watch a game and play some darts. Not the best spot for a casual night with a friend or a date though. Also, I don't smoke but a few of my friends do, and their outside patio is caged in and feels like a cramped prison yard. I found it to be a bar more than an Irish Pub. A plus is they hay daily drink specials. I had the fish and chips, frozen fish all the some shape not my idea of an Irish pub style fish, the homemade fry's were ok. When I first stepped into McFinnigans, I knew this was a place I would enjoy. The bartenders know their stuff. Thursday HH is great, even when I extend my stay. Weekends are excellent. The drink specials are on par or better than other area bars and there are a wide selection of liquors to choose from. They offer free UFC events, food during major sporting events, and there are plenty of televisions to watch your favorite event. Stop by. You won't be disappointed. read more

McFinnigans is a pretty cool place. Sometimes they show UFC fights on PPV, they have great beers on tap, and the bartenders or pretty nice. You can order food from next store at a place called ray's pizzeria (formally goomba's). McFinnigans could be better but its not that bad. read more

Jesse is the best bartender my girlfriend and I have ever had. Which is saying a lot because we have seen a lot. She is always patient when we don't know exactly what we want and is always helpful with suggestions. I also have to give mention to Taylor and Bethany because they are awesome as well. i went to this place a few months ago to meet some friends who were back in town. i ordered 1 pitcher of beer and 4 shots. when i came back up to bar later to close out, i was charged for 2 pitchers on my card. when i pointed this out the bartender girl rudely told me that i had 2 pitchers. we eventually figured out that she had put someone else's order on mine (i had the same name as another customer.) no big deal. then once this was fixed the other customer and i were trying to close out out straightened tabs. well, she goes and switches us, charging his tab on my card and vice versa (his tab was much much bigger than mine). we point this out and she takes our cards back and tries to fix it again. guess what? she does it again-- charging his huge tab on my card again. that's 3 wrong charges. THREE! she finally gets it right and promises that the other charges will be voided. i go to say good night to my friends once again and as i'm leaving stop at the bar and ask if everything is going to be ok with my credit statement. the girl tells me that i'm being rude and then tells me to get out. this-- after she screwed up three times. ridiculous. of course when the bank statement comes out, i come to find that none of the transactions were voided. i was charged FOUR times for one transaction (two of the amounts were very large). i call the bar and naturally the same bright ray of sunshine that messed up a simple pay out and threw me out answered. i told her what was happening and she said she would fix it (she also said she was the manager. good lord). she never fixed it of course. i had to call multiple times and eventually was told that i had to physically go to the bar to get my money back. when i get there, she's there again. a manager goes to back to "look through the records" thirty minutes later she approaches me and asks it it would be ok it they just gave me cash back. i agreed. haven't gone back since. naturally if all this hadn't happened, i would think this place was ok, not great. i used to go to blanco tavern once a week before it became this joint and loved it. never going back. if you end up here, check your bill and if you can, pay with cash. read more
