For years this bijou bar had been a must go for all my pub crawl parties. The bartenders are pretty cool and last years Super Bowl party here was off the charts. . .absolutely amazing. The drinks are made with just the right amount of spirits, if you know what I mean. Pool tables and darts keep it lively and competitive.

This is my go-to bar for years and love the bartenders and people that visit. It is a wide-range of people and I have met some great people over the years. My favorite night is Wednesday nights for the $3.50 you-call-it. This did go up 50 cents since they reopened, but you cannot beat this price anywhere in town. Jenn, the bartender, works on Wednesday early shift and will take care of you. Since the reopening, they have taken the precautions and added food to there offerings. This food is from Max & Louie's New York Diner. This is an added bonus, but there is other food options nearby; including El Gallito De Jalisco that has good tacos and Jerusalem Grill that offers great sandwiches. Sometimes there is a vendor that will come into the Pub to sell delicious tamales.

Been here once before and it was a great place. Glad to say it hasn't changed. If your on Wurzbach don't blink because you will miss it. Please look this place up and pass by. Great specials and friendly staff. I will be back when I meet up with my friends.

    Cmon three times really.

Don't like to see bartenders taking shots with customers. All of the TV's on TV channels seems like a missed opportunity to use it for advertisements with a logo for the bar and upcoming specials. Good sound system though but I didn't hear one Irish song while in the bar. Would benefit from some premixed music so there is no dead air times which happened almost every time a song stopped. There's a jukebox but people didn't pay any attention to it. Guinness was sadly short poured both times. I like the place but small changes would put it over the top and get some repeat customers.

Irish pub is a great neighborhood bar with skilled, friendly and attentive bartenders, great crowd, awesome specials and great prices. It's nestled and kind of hidden, but has ample parking. I've been there plenty of times and have always had a great experience. Place is decorated mute but tastefully, with ambient lighting, the drink specials vary and are aplenty, and the bartenders are skilled. Even on nights when they're slammed they are quick to engage and fill orders. Went there with three other friends for a few drink. Bill at the end of the night with 4 drinks each was $40. All in all its a great place. Fritz Is an amazing and charming bartender and it's a great little spot.

Because I'm a full-fledged believer that when a day such as St. Patrick's Day is near you should take a whole week to celebrate it. So my first "Irish bar" this week is The Irish Pub. This quaint little pub is full of sheep herders and old men........ I'm just kidding. On a Sunday night it was full of an array of people. Young, older, and the blue collar guys who just want a beer. It has a digital jukebox and apparently someone loves rap music. One pool table, so if you wanna play be prepared to win the table. One dart machine and a decent amount of seating. The bartender took a bit to recognize me, probably because I'm short. Once he did, he apologized for the wait. They have shot specials and drink specials. Now, I'm glad that you're an Irish pub..... I'm sad that the only "Irish" is Guinness. They had two tap stations and only Guinness.....curse you Silver Eagle and MillerCoors for dominating the keg scene. I know they make a mean Irish car bomb that would make the IRA proud.

If you are feeling bad about yourself this is the place to be. It smells like regret and desperation. We left our beers and left, nope. Can I just say please do yourself a favor and do not go here. It is so horrible that I will continue to write to insure that my post is posted.

$3 you call it! All day every Wednesday. Any shot, drink or beer!

They were overly breaded and not the tastiest I've had. The frozen Irish coffee was good but also not top notch. So why 5 stars? The live music talent on the night we went was incredible. Fiancee and I just exited a metal concert and wanted a couple drinks. The acoustic guitarist here had a very good voice, played so many nostalgic 90s songs, and masterfully transitioned from song to song while weaving them together seamlessly with similar bars. Kudos to this guy's vocals and to Waxy's for having the vision to invite a talented musician to play here, and as a result elevated our entire experience.

They have a great selection of whisky's and usually make a really good black and tan. Today I sat at the bar, I was greeted right away and got a beer in 20 secs. I've had the fish and chips here which were good. Bangers and mash I've had and enjoyed, Shepard pie is pretty good. Today I went with the BBQ burger. Food came out in about 10 mins from placing my order. Not bad, not great. My rating on the bbq burger. They did not ask me how I wanted it prepared, it was pretty much well done. The bun was a little hard, almost stale. There was not much bbq sauce on the bbq burger. With all the toppings, I'd give the burger 5 of 10. The hard bread took away from it for sure. I always like to try just the patty without anything on it to see how restaurants prepare their patties. It was about what I expected for a well done burger. Not much flavor, it tasted like well cooked ground round. I'd give it a 3.5. The fries were so so, I like fries more on the crispy side. These were more like thick steak fries, soft and limp. They were seasoned with salt and pepper. Not bad, not great. The beer I had... had an odd smell. It tasted ok, but I think the glass itself may have not been the cleanest. Hoping I don't get sick from a dirty glass. The bartender was nice enough to let me try their frozen Irish coffee. It was surprisingly delicious, like a boozy ice cream. It just seemed like a full glass would be too much. So I got a black and tan, which was good. If I was eating just this visit, I'd probably be between a 2-3, food was meh, and the dirty glass didn't help. If I include all my other visits I'm at 3-4, since this most recent experience I had to say I'm closer to a 3 than a 4.

A live band was playing all the 90s rock classics -- Tom Petty, Stone Temple Pilots -- giving the whole place an easy, nostalgic energy. Our server, Yella, was a delight. Sweet, attentive, and rocking the plaid skirt uniform like a pro. We ordered their famous fish & chips but opted for mashed potatoes instead of fries. The potatoes were on the chunky side and a bit light on seasoning, but the fish more than made up for it. Crispy golden coating, flaky interior, and a portion size big enough for both of us to share. Truly excellent -- we'd definitely order it again. Mad Dogs hits that sweet spot of good food, great music, and a fun Riverwalk location. We'd happily return.

The place was located in a small plaza off the side of some main roads, and we gathered for a class team building event. By that I mean beer and burgers. The entrance beckons you to come on in, what with its neon sign and all. The walk up feels rustic, and the door makes it official: you're entering an awesome place. There's plenty of seating and every night has something else to offer. I enjoyed the breakfast burger which was delicious. I liked the quality of the bread and the contrast of a well-seasoned patty. The fried egg was prepared beautifully, and the yolk covered the fries waiting below on the tray. The place is military friendly in terms of the bill and our sever, Rebecca, was not only fast and friendly but very welcoming and knowledgeable. Some folks decided to try their hand at Karaoke and had the stage to themselves. I liked that the TVs also had the lyrics up so that you could sing along without having to turn to face the stage. To make matters worse, the food was overpriced and similar to food court food. Overall, a very disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend this restaurant.
