I really wanted to love this place for different reasons. Not only is it close by my home, it's got great reviews and the prices seem to be lower than most other salons in the area. I have been wandering from salon to salon as I've yet to find a place that has all the qualities I think a salon should have, which are the following: good service, wide selection of polish colors, attention to detail on nail painting, quality massage treatment, sanitary/hygienic practices, clean and kempt space, and fair pricing. I guess that might be too much to ask because I've yet to find one like that! I went in right after close after making an appointment for a spa pedicure and regular manicure. I was seated right away in a massage chair and requested they adjust the water because it was too hot. Sarah was my technician and I really want to compliment her on the massage. She was so good it almost hurt and I consider myself to having high tolerance to handling strong massages, but in my opinion much better than having a weak half assed massage! She spent a lot of time on my toes which came out great. I want to point out though that I wasn't as happy with how my manicure turned out. You'll see in the picture that the bottom of my nails towards my cuticles have this weird double coat look probably from the top coat that she didn't apply evenly. I don't want to complain about that too much though since just under 50 bucks for spa pedicure and mani isn't too bad! Sarah was also very sweet and patient as I am pretty indecisive and asked her to swatch a few colors for me. Overall, I think I would go back for just the spa pedicure. Manicure I probably do a better job myself at home. I also may bring my own nail polish from home as I don't think they had as many options as I've seen in other places. read more

Two reviews and a tip: About a month ago was my 2nd visit here. I recall the first time being pretty good. Today for me was just average. Today for my son was horrible. Read on. First review is on the gal that did my pedicure. She was efficient and did a "good enough" job. Nothing to write home about. No fabulous leg/foot massage. And the chairs are ho-hum. I'd have given her 3 or 3.5 stars. But I'm leaving 1 star based on the crappy attitude given my son by LISA. Plenty of little girls go with their moms and get pedicures, right? Plenty of men get pedicures, right? So why not a boy? An 8 year old boy. I figured it would be a nice treat and some decent mother-son time. (Note, he could have stayed home with dad, but I asked if he wanted to come with me and he said yes. Great. Walked in to see if they had availability to do a pedicure for me and my son (who was standing next to me). I got the nod and "you pick out color." Done. Every chair was vacant, minus one that was 2 away from the end. The water was placed for me in the chair closest to the wall. I again said "my son would like a pedicure too please and I'd like him to sit next to me." The response was that the lady next to my chair was almost done and he'd sit there. Ok, whatever. 5 minutes later lady is done and vacates chair. 5 minutes even later I again ask about my son. Lady comes and fills with water. I'm getting a cold vibe from her, but figure it's likely just me. I tell my son to come and sit and put his feet in the water. He says "I'm not getting MY nails painted mom!" I get that must have been a bit frustrating for the lady since she had gone to the trouble of turning on a nob. But Lady turns with a vast twist and walks away. I let my boy know there will be no polish. He gets up in the chair. Other employee fetches gal and she returns with a chip on her shoulder. It's all downhill from there. She was doing the typical poking and prodding and naturally by boy didn't like it and showed such by wiggling his foot. She didn't take kindly to that. I can see Lisa and my son both growing agitated. I cave and hand my phone to my son to play some games hoping to make things easier for both. No such luck. So I tell Lisa to not worry about the cuticles, just cut the nails. My son simmers down. Nevertheless, Lisa is (obviously) talking about my son (or perhaps me) in Vietnamese. As I am not multi-lingual, I have no idea what is being said. But whatever it was it obviously made the other employees uncomfortable after a minute as they stop giggling and merely put their heads pointed down and are ignoring her and barely look up. My pedi is done. Much to my surprise, so is my son's! After putting on some lotion, Lisa didn't bother to massage his legs or feet! Turns out she also didn't do the wax dip. So it's now time to pay. I fully intended to pay full price for my son's service when we walked in. And upon paying I felt as if, had I said something about my son' slack of services, I'd have been ridiculed for complaining. So I paid the same for each of us. It's now time to tip. I normally tip $4 for my pedis, $5 if the massage is really good. For what my son experienced I normally would not have tipped. But, I wanted him to have the experience of handing someone a tip, making eye contact, and saying thank you. I should have known better. I gave him $1 and explained what to do. He does it. You know what Lisa has the audacity to say? "One dollar? Really? That all?" And she waits for a response from him! He turns and walks away. Keep in mind I KNOW my son is watching me and I want to set a good example for him. I'm torn. But, he needs to know how to handle that, right? So I walk toward Lisa and say in an appropriate voice and time "your services and attitude toward my son were horrible. You EARN a tip, not expect one." She rolls her eyes and turns to walk away. I turn and leave with my son. I'm LIVID! Once out the door there is another customer standing nearby and she hears me say "unbelievable!" and explaining to my son what should have happened. Customer lets me know the scenario doesn't surprise her about Lisa. She is a regular at the shop and will not let Lisa provide any services for her. So what should have been a new, enjoyable, and bonding experience for my son and I, and a chance for me to start teaching him about grooming and caring for himself, was nothing but UGLY. I doubt I'll ever be able to talk him into a pedicure again. He's doomed with "man-foot." My most humble apologies to his future wife. read more

I looooooved this place. Came here with my daughter and some of the bridesmaids for a little pampering before her big day. I got the regular pedi and gel mani. I had never had a pedi like this one before. The nail tech that I had took his time. There was no rushing here. I was massaged, exfoliated and paraffined. The mani was equally as good. My girlfriend and I tried to talk them into opening up shop in Miami but they were not having it LOL. I guess I will have to fly to Virginia more often. read more

With plenty of techs, they are well-prepared for walk-in appointments. I love the complementary paraffin treatment. The salon is clean and the massage chairs are comfy. They are very efficient--that's not saying they rush through your service, but they will have you in and out in a reasonable amount of time. The brow wax is one of the best in the area. They are gentle with the tweezers and I never leave with red, puffy patches around my eyes. They do allow you to add the tip to your credit card, although they prefer cash. read more

Went in for a mani-pedi and felt very rushed. I liked that they included the paraffin treatment in their services but I had both of my hands dipped and wrapped, walked over to the nail table and as we both sat down she removed the wax! It was not on my hands more than 30 seconds? Isn't the whole purpose to let it set for at least a few minutes? otherwise what is the point? As soon as my technician was finished painting my nails and silently walked me over to the UV table to dry she went back to her table and immediately put in her ear phones to go back to watching her tablet. Where was this place all my life?? I think I found my new nail salon! It's located in the Lotte market plaza. I got a guy and at first I was a little frightened because a guy touching my feet... But I got over it because he did such an amazing job on my pedicure. I wish he did my manicure also but sadly another woman worker did and it was okay. They're not the best in optics - the place could really use a refresh but I'm willing to overlook that because they do a great job. MY new go-to salon :) Clean, paraffin wax included too! The prices are awesome for what you get. I got the gel pedi and shellac mani (essentially, the same thing) and it was a pleasant experience. My french mani lasted the usual 2.5 weeks with no chips, but slight cracks and discoloration (I'M TOUGH on my nails), but my gel pedi (this was the first time I had it and boy, I was skeptical on the longevity) -- lasted a good month and a half! Haha, now while I know having gel on your nails for that long might not be the best thing for ya -- lemme tell you, it looked good! NO CHIPS, NO CRACKS, no nothing! Honestly, you could probably make it last 2 months before the growth really becomes noticeable. Overall, I'm very satisfied and have been back about 3 times. The gel pedi is tried and tested and lasted way longer than I expected (and trust me, I wear pointy hoe teels 95% of the week and abuse my feet). It's def worth the extra mula! I mean it's not fancy shmancy, nor do they suck up to you. They're straight to the point and get you seated, check you out, and off you go. Just my type of place! read more

I used to love this place when I lived in the area. After I moved 3 years ago I would even take the time to come every now and then because of great prices and service. This time I was very disappointed by the service I received from a male technician. The polish on my pedicure chipped after less than 24 hours of getting them done and the gel manicure was lumpy and just plain messy around the cuticle area. For a gel manicure and regular pedicure I was there for less than an hour which probably explains the quality of my nails. Next time I will just pay the extra few bucks for someone who will take their time and put in the effort the job requires. read more

Came here on a blustery, snowy evening with my mother. She got the regular manicure ($13! Definitely the cheapest in the area) and I got my first gel manicure ($27 which I think is reasonable). Paraffin wax is quite possibly the coolest thing ever, I just want to take a bath in the stuff... Anyway it was included in my mothers basic manicure as well as my gel manicure! Love that! Usually it is extra. We both really liked the results we got and I am now addicted to gels. The techs did a great job and were relatively quick. I took off one star because one of my UV lamps kept randomly turning off it seemed to be broken, and I feel like they need a little better ventilation in there. The salon had a fairly strong chemical smell. However, for the low price we paid and the high quality result I will suck it up and be back again and again. read more

So after reading reviews of my fellow Yelpers, I decided to check out MC Nails....and I'm soooo glad I did. I LOVE this place!! I went around 6:00pm as my job is down the road and it was only myself and another lady in there. The chairs were nice and comfy, the ladies are super sweet and nice, and they have a great selection of OPI nail polish which is organized by color, which makes it easy to find the color you're looking for. Now to the good part....I asked for a mani/pedi and lip wax. The regular pedi included the norm, but they also do a salt/sugar scrub which smells yummy, followed by a mint lotion rub down, and they do a parrafin wax followed by a hot towel. My order may be off, but you get the point...they do extra. Remember this is just a basic pedi!! My mani was similar minus a salt scrub, but I still got a parrafin wax....still a basic mani, no extra charge for this!!! My lady (sorry I didn't get her name) was a sweetheart, but then again they all seem very nice. There was not a lot of talking as they focused on doing their jobs and doing it very well. They take their time and I'm thrilled with the results. **This is not a place to run in and out of, but one to definitely relax and pamper yourself.** All in all it took about 1 1/2 hours with everything. I felt myself getting a bit antsy, but I couldn't possibly after considering all that I'd gotten for the price and the service. I'm heading into day 8 with an unchipped, fresh looking manicure - a personal best, and a record that will surely keep me coming back to MC nails. I went in on a Friday after work expecting a crowd or at least a wait, but there was only one other women inside and I was seen right away. I had an amazing pedicure and manicure (as others have described, with the scrub/ paraffin/generous massage) - all for only $30! My only small gripe... the space feels dingy; it needs new paint and a good scrub. But what you get for the cost, quality and service - I'll definitely be back. read more

I also got acrylics and it was the WORST I've had in my life. I even gave the guy a photo for reference because I wanted it to be an oval shape. He didn't cut down my nails so you can see them under my tips. Also the shapes are all different and different lengths! ! He even charged me $5 more because he had to shape them like that. This place is definitely more affordable than most. That's for sure! However, I would probably only come back for a pedicure which is a steal at $23. I came to this place with two of my girlfriends and we all get gel manicures. Their color selection is decent and it includes a paraffin wax dip which is nice but the paint job that they did on our nails was very ehhh. She got very close to my cuticle which is nice but she actually painted onto my cuticles for almost every finger. For anyone who has gotten a gel manicure before, this is not a good thing because the minute it starts to grow out a little, the "seal" from the nail polish isn't on your nails and it makes it chip really easily. My gel manicure was chip free for about 5 days but the the other girls have some major peeling after about 3 days. While their prices are great, it's not quite a steal when it doesn't last at all close to the two weeks, it's supposed to. I'd go back for a pedicure maybe, but definitely not a gel manicure. read more

I went for a pedicure. The lady that did my toes didn't pay attention to detail. I see why a lot of people rave about this place, you get a paraffin wax and basic scrub with the pedicure and other places charge extra for it, but other places also pay close attention to the detail. She did a bad job shaping my toe nails and cleaning them up. I don't have callus, but that doesn't mean I don't want the bottom of my feet paid attention to and scrubbed. My review/rating is for the gel fill-in only. I have not had a regular manicure nor pedicure here so I cannot speak to those. This is the 4th place I have tried in 5 weeks of living here in an attempt to find a decent gel fill-in. I always wait a couple of days before writing my reviews to see if the fill-in actually lasts. Just as with the others, this one looks terrible. There is lifting, crooked french polish, bumpy surface on my nails, and all around an amateurish looking result. After 10 years of having gel overlay in several different states, I cannot believe it is taking me this long to find someplace that does a good job. In addition to looking terrible, the older male technician drilled into my skin twice making me bleed both times and then attempted to blame me. Never in all the years I have been getting my nails done has anyone ever cut me with the drill, let alone twice. Just as with the other salons I've tried in these parts, I will not be returning here. My friend and I went for our appointment, they did our pedicures, and my friend's manicure and then said that they were too busy to do my manicure too even though we were on time for our appointment and the store was open for another 3 hours. I said I can wait and asked how long it would be, and they said, I would have to come back the next day! They were EXTREMELY rude to me as well. They never rush, parrafin wax is part of a badic mani/pedi, they massage your legs/twice, and they have pride in their work. The place is very clean andd bright. Despite already finding my HG nail salon, I decided to give this place a go because of aforementioned glowing referrals. I walked in at 6PM on a rainy Friday evening thinking it would be pretty dead due to the weather, only to be greeted with the exact opposite; this place was popping! I got seated with Tony after 10 minutes and he promptly got right to work. Ladies, this man means business. If you're ever on a time crunch (all my fellow mom's, you know how it is) this is your go-to for the quickest yet quality manicure/full set. Unlike many other nail salons I go to, there was absolutely zero gossiping about the clients, no awkward small talk, just sweet silence with the exception of Seinfeld re-runs in the background. In fact, Tony only interrupted my intense Seinfeld reveries to ask me how I wanted my nails shaped, how long and confirmation of the polish I chose before getting back into his zone. Within a little over 30 minutes, my nails looked fabulous and he even found time add in a soothing hand massage with respect to my time constraints. While there, I felt rushed and never had just one technician. Several technicians worked on me and my friends and not one even tried to provide good customer service and say hello (despite me greeting them and trying to make small talk). It's been four days since my gel mani and it's already peeling. I'd consider going back to this place for it to be repaired but i refuse to give them another dollar. I've been here twice. Paraffin waxes are included with all manis and pedis, which is awesome. Pedicures (regular) are better than manicures (regular) when it comes to neatness. I saw two different people each time so I'm speaking generally. You definitely have to be someone who speaks up on what you want because they will not ask. One thing that I did notice was that they do not use autoclave or uv lights to clean their instruments. They instead wipe the utensils with alcohol pads and then put them back in a new sealed sterile bag....I don't think this is the proper way to do it. Their color selection is fantastic and they offer paraffin waxes for every mani/pedi free of charge. Got a shellac manicure and my eyebrows waxed this past weekend. My nails look beautiful and I love that they include paraffin wax in the price. However, I was telling the lady doing my nails that the last place I went to cut me and THEN SHE CUT ME - literally as I was saying that. AHH. So there I am with a bloody cuticle yet again. Not happy. She also did my eyebrows and it looked like she hardly took any hair off. I asked her to do more and she fake plucked for a second then showed me the mirror again. I choose that place because of reviews and distance was close. I was having appointment for "Gel manicure" and "Gel pedicure", but they make me "Gel manicure" and "regular pedicure" because the manicures women switch and misunderstood each other !!!! Well I can make my regular pedicure at home too that's why I go there for something that I can't do by myself! Anyways! Well the massage was very good honestly, that's why 2*! The interior is pretty bad too like in some village! After that they charge me 68$ which is interesting because "Gel mani" and "Gel pedi" is 65$ in paced! When I got home I saw my nail at my foot and was spoiled already after 2 hours! That's why I don't make "regular pedicure" in practice I just waist my money! I will not come back. read more

I got a regular pedi and had made an appointment. When me and a friend got there we were promptly seated at one of the stations. Everything was great though I was a bit skeptical about how sanitary the buff block and emery board were but they made a point to take out all the other tools from a UV appliance to sanitize them. My seat was a bit old and started shedding on me but unfortunately none of the other seats were empty. All the other chairs looked like they were nicely maintained.
