I'll eat here every so often on the weekends. These are my thoughts and observations. - Finding a seat isn't an issue even when it's busy. - Their "Famous Tea" is horrible. - We usually wait 5 minutes for food. - The food is great. I usually order a club sandwich and coleslaw or a potato. -The fruit salad is laughably small. Overall, the food is good and you can get in and out quickly regardless of how busy they are. read more

I ordered a taco salad through grubhub which was described as having chili, tortilla, chips, cheddar cheese, guacamole, etc. However, what arrived was essentially a bowl of lettuce, jalapeños, tomatoes and sour cream. Not great. When I called McAlisters Deli the girl I spoke with only explained that they can't do anything because it is with a 3rd party vendor and to contact them. I understand this is how it works but disappointing that they did not even offer and apology for the inconvenience or even pretend like she cared at all. I thought the tortilla soup was way too thick with really not much in it. My husband said his meal was good so that's why it got 2 stars. read more

This place is managed in an awful manner. The last three times I've tried to order from here it has been an absolute disaster. Can't find orders, so I have to show them the email. Missing items from the order. Items are not available. Replacement items then get added incorrectly. This last order I asked for a refund and every person in the place took a crack at working the register before I was told that transactions don't post until the end of the night so it won't get charged. I have my doubts. Avoid this place is the best advice I can give. Not worth the inevitable hassle. read more

I've been here about four different times now and had varying degrees of success. The Italian chopped salad is good, the soups are fine but nothing too exciting. The potatoes are more disappointing than anything else. The first one I had was super dried out and the skin was burned and dried to the point of being inedible. I enjoy eating some of the skin on my baked potatoes but not here. Also, the cashiers are always cold and unsmiling and have this air of being too busy to deal with you. Today, I went to grab a quick cup of soup and potato and rush back to the office for a meeting. To start with, it was at 12:30 so the lunch rush had hit the shopping center and the parking lot was a nightmare. It's so poorly designed that it's a wonder there isn't a daily accident. There was a long line when I walked in, but it moved fairly quickly. I ordered what I thought would be fast and then waited. For 15 minutes. The two things I ordered are literally pre-cooked and just have to be assembled. But here's the real quicker: They gave me the wrong order. I ordered the veggie spud, and received a BACON AND CHEDDAR potato. I don't know what it takes to screw that up, but I am now eating a potato that isn't even close to what I ordered or paid for. Also, was only given two tiny little pats of butter to moisten this huge dried out thing. Lessons learned, I won't bother with this again. read more

Always a fan of McAlister's and this location has been great for eating in and carry out. While the service could stand an injection of southern hospitality (smile more ..seem happy to work there) the food is good, it is prepared on time, its fresh and the place is clean. I'd give 5 stars if the service was nicer, they seem to have a lot of cross conversation and I actually got an eye roll and a sigh from a cook when I asked for no middle slice of bread on my club....but whatever. We have been back several times especially when making a costco run and will continue to do so; enjoy the online ordering and separate To Go pickup line making carry out a breeze. read more

This is a deli that aspires to be high-end in a very busy Costco parking lot, sandwiched in (pun intended) with Five Guys, Ruckus, and a few other places. Went here on a lunch date with my wife, and neither of us had anything that wow'ed us. I had a turkey sandwich and it was very plain tasting. The prices are high for what you get. The ordering process is not very friendly, particularly to those who have never visited before. The person at the register just stared at us for a while before we had to initiate the transaction. Stay clear of the pastrami. Gummy and almost tastes like is was distilled in vinegar. The menu is overwhelmingly at first, but upon closer inspection it's basic sandwiches. Service at this location is very rude and they are nasty with each other. The only reason for the two star is the spuds. I got the roast beef and cheddar spud. Wow I showed up at 3:10 pm on a Monday and the service was excruciating! One person working the register (Jennifer) who was quite slow and she had no ones. Wanted to give me 12 quarters? My half tea/lemonade was 90% tea. Waited 10 min for the food: The half chicken salad sandwich was tasty but it barely had any chicken salad on the bread - 3-4 times as much lettuce and tomato? I've been to this location about 4 times since it opened last month and each time I've had something wrong with my vegetarian orders. The service is fine, the people are nice, but every time I get my order it's never actually what I ordered. We have eaten there 4 times. 3 times we ordered at night and all 3 times they forgot an item and got the order wrong. The 4th time we went in to eat and the got our order wrong after repeating it back to us and charged us for an extra potato which we just took home. As we were sitting waiting for our food we were chatting about this and observed 4 separate customers of the 6 who all had something wrong or missing with their orders as well. This was over the span on 20 min while we sat. Of the 4 times we have eaten there it has been over the course of 6 months. Now, the food is good and the place has potential but these things lead to non-repeat costumers. 2 of the other guests were visibly and verbally upset. We just expected it but to happen this long is bad for the bottom line and for the guests who genuinely enjoy the food. Even though the staff is friendly and accommodating the food is so-so. We ordered the king club and both sandwiches had one slice of bacon. (the king is double meat). They gave us free sandwiches for our next visit. I felt like they should have comped it. So we went back. It was better but the half of a tomatoe slice was mushy . My baked potato had sat in warmer all day...dried out and no flavor . When manager came by to ask why we had free vouchers I mentioned the potato. This is my first time eating at this chain. I was happy to be invited to the pre opening staff training. The entire staff was welcoming. Everyone seemed helpful, upbeat and happy to be there. The menu is large. And there is something for everyone. I got the California turkey reuben. The cheese was missing, but it was good. The fruit it came with was fresh. My husband got the club. He said it was good, but asked me to taste the coleslaw. It had NO flavor. Both of our pickles were very small and wilted. My son had a ham sandwich, chips and Teddy Grahams which he was pleased with. My daughter had the kids mac and cheese. I'm glad it came with chips and Teddy Grahams because the tiny scoop it came with did not come close to filling her up. Overall I think they did a great job. read more

I'm so happy that McAlister's Deli opened in Apex. We've been there many times since it opened. The food is top notch. The service is great. Everyone is happy and very helpful. Employees were too eager the first few weeks by asking customers for refills 8 times in 30 minutes. It's better now. I was so excited for a place like this to open because there is nothing comparable in this area. The space was large, bustling with people, and the staff are oh so friendly! The menu has a little bit of everything and is also kid friendly. I ordered a BLT with a side of broccoli cheese soup. Both were really good. Wife and I stopped by for a late lunch. I had the bowl of chili and she had the French Dip. Chili was excellent, Maybe some onions would make it even better. There were som beans, but not enough to feel like you were having beans with a little ground beef. Wife said the French Dip was also good. The Savannah Chopped Salad is the best salad ever! My friend and I stop at McAlister's every time we go to Costco which is about twice a month. We both love the Savannah Chopped Salad. We always eat one for lunch and get another one to take home for lunch the next day. It's only $8.69 and you get tons. Sometimes we can't finish it and take that home too. The past few visits though the lettuce has not been chopped up very well, the pieces are too large. That's a problem for my friend that only has the use of one hand due to a stroke so I cut it up for her. No problem, except this is advertised as a Chopped Salad. I worked at McAlister's when I was in college...it has changed a lot! The newer menu items are great, and the food is terrific. I had half of a veggie club and a cup of soup - both were absolutely delicious. My date had the McAlister's club, and he loved it. We'll definitely be back! read more

McAlister's is a pretty decent chain and this location is just starting up, so hopefully, they will have a the kinks worked out soon. The only thing I would advise is to come during off hours, as the parking is terrible. They have to share with a Chipotle and Five-Guys, they just under planned for parking. read more

I met a friend for lunch at the new Apex McAlister's last week. The McAlister's menu covers a lot of ground, including some vegetarian options (most with cheese in some form). You select from a menu posted behind the staff, who take your order and payment. They hand you a number which you display on your table, for fairly quick delivery of your food. McAlister's prices are competitive and possibly somewhat less than their competitors, like Panera Bread or Carolina Cafe. Service to the table was efficient and polite (and it was busy during lunch rush). However, I am rating the place with two stars due to the food quality, portion sizes, and taste. I had the soup and salad option, with a veggie chili and their garden salad with a scoop of tuna. While the veggie chili was flavorful enough it was too thin and overly salty. I'm sorry but a diner should find beans on every spoonful. And why do places like this insist on this level of saltiness in everything ? The garden salad was not only on the small size but for over $5 for a 1/2 salad, could I have more than bits of tomato and cucumber ? Or do they think that their meat eating customers really prefer the mound of shredded cheese layered on top ? And are a half dozen croutons really needed on any 'salad' ? if I want bread, I'll order bread as an appetizer. The tuna salad was the standard fare. My friend had a club sandwich which also had more than its share of cheese, rather than deli meats. In general, the local competitors have nothing to fear from McAlister's. read more
