    Lobster roll

Wow! This place will be on my awesome food rotation! This is a go to the counter and order your food. Don't let this fool you into thinking that the food will be "fast food ". I ordered the lobster roll with a side salad. The bread was excellent. It was buttered and grilled. The lobster filling was yummy! I haven't had a lobster roll since I was in Maine! This rivals the lobster rolls there! Very impressed. My mom ordered the fish and chips with fries. The cod has a crunchy yet light batter. This is a generous portion with 4 pieces and so delicious. The tartar sauce is homemade and you can taste the dill, which was all excellent. All I can tell you is if you haven't tried this place, you are missing out. Our total bill was $56 and well worth every penny!

Headed back to Slapfish today for a nice Valentine's day lunch. Been a while since we had been and had a craving for some good seafood. We both had the fish and chips which was excellent. The fry on the fish was executed perfectly. I substituted extra fries in place of the slaw. The fries were very good, and again fried to perfection. We also had a starter of the chips and lobster dip. Chips were fresh and appeared to be made in house. Lobster dip had good flavor. Food was ready very quickly. If you want good seafood in Indiana this is one of the few places to get it.

SlapFish is one of those places that you want to keep secret because it's THAT good. I've debated writing a review because I love this place so much. Every single time I've been here the food is outstanding. The wait time for exceptional food is not bad at all. You can order ahead and every time I've done that, the food is ready and waiting for me. The lemon & herb butter rice with the salmon is delicious! The fish is always fresh and I love that the Power Bowl comes with a hearty salad. Whoever decided to add guacamole with pumpkin seeds to the salad is a genius! They have a patio and are dog friendly. It can be really busy on weekends so definitely order ahead. There is also a bakery and deli next door. I would choose SlapFish over Sweetgreen any day. Much better value and quality at SlapFish. Can't wait to come back!

Still like this place. All dishes are crowd pleasers. They get busier on a weekend at dinner. Go during non-peak times if you have a chance. They keep things clean and well-stocked.

I just love Slapfish's fresh seafood! We were able to hit the restaurant for a late lunch and, amazingly, no crowd. There was plenty of parking and tables. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered and paid at the counter and then found a seat. The food comes out fairly quickly. I ordered a bowl of my favorite clam chowder. The clams are big and plentiful. This is the clamiest clam chowder in town. I was disappointed that they excluded my bacon, though! My husband had the Lobster Avocado roast, which was full of perfectly ripe avocado and loads of fresh lobster. The toast was delicious. The servers checked on us a couple times. Tables were kept clean.

Very friendly staff. The food was delicious. I'm so happy that we found this place! I'll be back soon for another lobster roll!

Perfect place for a quick seafood snack. I stopped in between errands and had the grilled fish street taco. The taco was a grilled mahi on top of a corn tortilla with cabbage, pickled onions, cheese, awesome and jersey sauce. The taco was packed with flavor in every bite. Upset that I only purchased 1 to go. 1 was enough to do the job but it left me wanting more. Delicious

Oh my,I experienced seafood heaven! Had a craving for a good lobster roll and left feeling super satisfied. The lobster roll was layered with chunks of lobster meat surrounded by a sweet butter infused bun. Tried the oyster appetizer that can with a bonus side of Cajun fries. Friendly server and outdoor seating was great. Definitely worth the price for a classic favorite.

My cousin suggested I try this place. I was excited to try it for the first time on 6/27/21. This establishment is located in a rural area. Slapfish is a modern seafood restaurant. It is self serve. On this day, I was craving for lobster roll so I ordered one at the counter. Service with taking the orders is typical. The worker who took my order was pleasant. Cost at the time was $24. I selected the Cole slaw as my side with a fountain drink. Drinks are refillable. The lobster comes from Maine. My lobster roll was truly delicious and flavorful. The lobster was fresh! Loved my slaw as well. Since then, I've been back two other times. Brought my daughter here to try as well. She loved it too!! When back in the area, I will definitely be eating here again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

We've always had a good experience at this location but tonight it was exceptional! The ordering process was fast & super friendly and the food came out quickly (and it's Friday night). The Fish & Chips were excellent and all at a reasonable price!! Thanks Slapfish for the outstanding dining experience!

By the way and more importantly, Moira greeted us right away and did everything to make us comfortable including allowing us to move to the patio. It's great out here and they've done a good job trying to hide the traffic on 116th. Here are my impressions: Seating, very comfortable and much nicer than I thought. Ambiance, higher end than I thought after seeing photos Wine, the Sancerre was light, not too sweet, and delicious, nice finish. Seaweed salad, delicious! Delmonte roll, Toro (tuna belly!) absolutely wonderful and I enjoyed it to the last bite. Lobster roll, lots of lobster in a light dressing of kimchi mayo on top of the veggie roll. Presentation, all of the dishes came out looking very appetizing. Dessert, Lemon Possette, is fabulous! Custard like but creamier/looser towards the bottom with jam and fresh tanneries on top. It's difficult to stop eating! Chris, the owner, took the time to stop at our table and have a lovely conversation with us and we're so glad he created this touch of Monterey (CA) here in central Indiana. This restaurant is a definite thumbs up!

They had booth seating and tables as well as a small patio out front. The staff wasn't the most welcoming but I was just in and out so it was fine. Once I got back to my room I dug right in, as I was starving after a 3 hour drive from Columbus, Ohio. The first thing I noticed was that I forgot to ask for ketchup for my fries when I asked for utensils. And I'm so glad I remembered to ask for utensils, otherwise that would have gotten messy really quick. It would be really nice if the staff asked about those things for takeout orders. The next thing I noticed was that my fried fish was already soggy. Given that it wasn't ready when I arrived and only five-ish minutes passed between them handing it to me and when I started eating, I was surprised. That said, the parts that were crispy were nice and their tartar sauce was super good. The fries also had a nice seasoning on them. Overall, the experience was fine, which is why I landed on a solid three stars.

It was a unique offering--the flavors were interesting, although it wasn't my personal favorite. My partner, however, enjoyed it quite a bit. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful and elegant. My only complaint was the temperature inside the dining room. We dined indoors on a Saturday evening in mid-July when it was around 90 degrees outside, and the restaurant felt unusually warm and stuffy. I suspect there may have been an issue with the HVAC system, as there seemed to be very little air circulation. My partner was sweating throughout dinner. I'm usually someone who gets cold easily at restaurants and often brings a cardigan, so the fact that I found the temperature uncomfortable was surprising. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant and would happily return, assuming the HVAC issue has been resolved.

Last Christmas alone, I purchased $1,000 in Grindstone gift cards, and we've routinely tipped the bartenders 30-40% because the bar staff has always treated us extremely well. Unfortunately, after six years, that relationship has come to an end. We had brought Grindstone three cocktail recipes we enjoy--two from a favorite restaurant in Illinois and one based on the Liquid Love Affair from 1933 Lounge in Fishers. Management eventually created a special POS button for our cocktails and charged $10.50 each. We were recently informed that ownership had decided to increase those drinks to $15 each--a 43% increase overnight. I understand prices increase. Had they gone to $11 or $12, I wouldn't have thought twice about it. What I found unreasonable was charging $15--the same price as Grindstone's signature cocktails--for recipes we supplied ourselves. One of those drinks is based on the Liquid Love Affair from 1933 Lounge. I can literally walk from my house to 1933 Lounge and purchase the actual cocktail for $15. Why would I drive 20 minutes to Noblesville and pay the same price for Grindstone's version? We were also told a dirty martini at Grindstone is $13. This wasn't about being unable to afford another $4.50. Someone buying $1,000 in gift cards and tipping 30-40% isn't being financially devastated by a few dollars. It was about how six years of loyalty was treated. What happened afterward was equally disappointing. After I posted reviews elsewhere describing our experience, Grindstone publicly responded, acknowledged our six years and 300+ weekends of loyalty, specifically acknowledged the 43% increase, and asked me to email management so we could have a "meaningful conversation" and they could have the opportunity to "make this right." I did exactly what they asked. Three days later, I had received no response, and Grindstone had deleted its public response asking me to contact management. I retained a screenshot of that response. The bartenders deserve none of the criticism here. They've always treated us wonderfully, and they're the part of Grindstone we'll genuinely miss. There are simply too many locally owned restaurants and bars whose owners work hard to earn and retain loyal customers. Another local restaurant owner has already gone out of his way to stock the liquor necessary to make our cocktails and charges $12 for them. Grindstone didn't lose two six-year customers because we couldn't afford another $4.50. They lost two six-year customers because of how six years of loyalty was handled--and unfortunately, management's response afterward only reinforced our decision.
