Use to have the best service and salads in town. They have really gone down hill. We ate there this Saturday and my wife's chef salad was so sad. She had to send it back because they forgot to put tomatoes in it. When she did get it back they had taken some half assed extremely thin slices of tomatoes that they use for their sandwiches and threw them on top. We had also paid for 4 Brooke dessert brownies that they did not bring to the table. The turkey and ham is just some thin sliced sandwich meat that they throw in with the mounds and mounds of greens. We remember before the pandemic every time we came in the manager would come to our table and ask how was the food and did we need anything. NO SIGN OF A MANAGER. Soooo disappointed!! read more

Great place for variety, with lots of eat in or take out options. The baked potatoes here are huge and always prepared the right way, with the topping options giving every potato it's own vibe. The Memphian and New Yorker are my favorite sandwiches. Always like the pickle bar and their salad and soup options are all good. Oh and the potato salad is a great side to any meal. read more

I order ahead for work from this location when we are in town, usually placing an order 3-4 hours in advance. I have never had an order be ready when I arrive at the time requested. The service has sometimes been good when I've arrived - they've given me a free tea before while I waited and are generally helpful, but it is frustrating that they seem to be just starting to put my order together when I get there. I usually wait 15-30 minutes. If you're ordering ahead, be prepared. read more

I've always had a positive experience here when ordering take-out. The food is always made correctly and the service folks are quite friendly. While waiting for my food and looking around, the place has always been clean and organized, and seating is abundant here. I knocked off a star for wait time, because it does take quite a while to wait for my food to come out. I've waited as long as 12-15 minutes before, which is quite lengthy considering its one salad. The food itself is good and seems to be clean enough, but consistently have less than disappointing carry out service. Today was my 3rd visit where I called in an order, told it would be 10-15 minutes, I showed up about 20 minutes later. Then stood at the carry out line being ignored for another 15 minutes while every other person was helped. Then some lady walks up to the carry out line, then someone walks over and helps her out. Then they ask me and I give my name only to find they lost my ticket. Here's a thought, acknowledge the folks waiting in the carry out line. read more

Manager was amazing! It was taking longer than normal for our meal to arrive and she came over to comp our meal. We didn't even say anything. Very proactive manager! We will be coming back to this location as the food is great and management top notch! read more

A nicely lit restaurant. The staff was friendly, even coming by a few times to check on refills. Food arrived in a timely fashion. I had the squash soup. I grabbed crackers from the bar area, but a piece of bread would be nice. read more

I really miss Jason's Deli in Carmel. Sorry McAlister's, but today's lunch was incredibly bland. I had a Rueben and though the bread was super fresh, there was no rye taste at all. The corned beef was almost flavorless. I love a good Rueben but this was really off the mark. read more

I had the pot roast spud and found it hard to get through - very salty and peppery. I asked and they said that's just how the gravy was, but AJ offered to replace it and gave me a spud max. Always good fresh food. Salads are fresh and crisp. Service is fast and polite. Had the taco salad and wanted more chili. They brought it without hesitation and no charge. Also ordered the Savanah chopped salad with a cheese substitution. Again, excellent and reasonably priced. NOTE: No more Watermelon Lemonade. Regular and Strawberry Lemonade is good though. read more

The man who is always at the To-Go counter is AMAZING! I'm so sorry I don't know his name. He's efficient, keeps his cool, all with a genuine smile on his face. Orders are always right too! Kudos to him. Two ridiculous women came in today with a call-in order for their office. They were paying separately for at least 10 (which seemed like 12-15) orders, so obviously it took a really long time while my salad just sat there calling out to me. Their stack of credit cards was about the size of a deck of cards. They didn't seem at all phased that this is a completely inconsiderate way to go about getting an order to go (it's called the internet, look into it...). But I digress. The man behind the counter probably shaved half the time it would have taken a run-of-the-mill employee to get their order ready because he is awesome!! In an already super busy McAlister's, he gives me faith that I can get in and get my food right, as quickly as he is able to shuffle those ninnies away! Usually McAlister's is great. But this last experience was one I will never forget. Out of our three person order, two of them were made wrong. My mother had to go back in and have her sandwich remade TWICE. Even after this second remaking, my mother was still not 100% satisfied. And my baked potato was less than sub par. It was missing some of the ingredients and it was over cooked. Also they put the wrong cheese sauce on it totally changing the flavor. Very dissatisfied with my visit to McAllisters. It will be a while before I return. read more

Used to enjoy this McCalister's as one of my stressful workday lunch escapes.. but no longer. After placing my order and getting my iced tea I looked for a place to sit. There were several dirty tables but I finally found a booth. After nearly finishing my tea my soup was delivered. After a few minutes enjoying my lunch and unwinding I found that I was in need of a beverage refill. Since I couldn't find a McCallister's associate in my area, I ventured to the tea bar for a refill. Because I had to wait behind several other customers it took several minutes before I was able to head back to my table. To my disappointment I found a woman sitting at my now cleaned table waiting for her lunch to be delivered. I asked her what had happened and she was embarrassed and seemed uncomfortable to tell me that my lunch was cleared away... So... I went to the counter to explain to the associate what had happened. I was offered my soup again, but having now lost my appeal for my needed break I asked for my soup to go. I asked the team member who seemed to be in charge how I should secure my table when needed a beverage refill and she said I should leave a coat at my seat. REALLY??? The temperatures were in the 60's this particular day and I did not wear a coat. She went on to explain that tables go fast during lunch. ... so disappointed... Although she apologized, it didn't seem sincere.. and after having a particularly challenging work day, all I wanted was a little solitude and comfort. I reached out to McCallister's corporate and have not heard back. This is the second time this has happened to me... Once at the Castleton location and now in Carmel. The Castleton location at least gave me a complimentary cookie .. Carmel--- nothing. Good food, great tea, but don't go alone or you just might loose your lunch. Ordered the Southwest Salad. I am so tired of restaurants, this one included, who use incredibly poor quality lettuce. Romaine lettuce is not white or yellow - it is green. Using iceberg lettuce when your menu says romaine is inexcusable. Yes it is cheap but yes it has no flavor and no nutritional value. I had to throw away a large part of the salad because even as it used iceberg it used large chunks of white pieces that should have been thrown away. What a horrible salad and a waste of my money. If they cared about their customers they would actually use quality ingredients. This is why I stopped buying salads at Panera as well. So disappointing and with the closure of When Eddy Met Salad, you can't get a decent salad in this city unless you go to a nice restaurant. read more
