A deli with perfectly cooked vegetables? What?? Broccoli and carrots perfectly cooked and seasoned! I mean, the sandwiches were very good too but we were very happy to have this nice little side dish done well. The chicken caesar wrap was very good. Nice balance of meat, lettuce and dressing. Chicken salad wrap was a little too heavy on the mayo and I like the chicken chunked, not finely shredded but it was still very good. Fresh veggies were nice and crisp. Potato salad was pretty good but also a bit too creamy. I'd like a bit more sharp mustard taste in mine. Music at a nice level. Customer service excellent. Store not too cold. Best McAlister's experience yet! Having not been to an area with a McAl in a while, I was disappointed when we stopped at one yesterday in Tennessee and found it to be just "fair". I thought maybe McAl had home the way of McD! But since McAl offers a wide variety of allergen-free choices for our family, we tried this one in Cincinnati today. What a difference! We had nearly the same choices today as yesterday, but the food here was 100% better. Our muffaletta sandwiches had more and tastier meats, tons more olive spread and well toasted and tasty bread. My teen got the Spud Max again, and this one had twice the filling. The BLT was also very good, and the veggie chili was surprisingly delicious. As usual, we enjoyed the sweet tea. The staff were all very helpful and courtesy. Someone who seemed to be a manager was working the front, helping people find a good seat (as the place was getting pretty full), and checking in with various tables. And our food came out so much faster and warmer than at the other place. Also, very clean and nice atmosphere. We will definitely stop here on future trips. McAllister's is average in every way possible. There's nothing bad about it per se, but based on my limited experiences at any of the locations, there's nothing good either. I'm sure theres something decent on the menu, but I've never actually seen anyone say "holy shit this is awesome!" The service has always been pretty good i guess. You could do worse, but then again you could also do much much better. Also, please stop toasting bread with grill marks and calling it a panini, toast is getting it's feelings hurt. read more

Given my choice of dreadful chain deli sandwich places I'll still skip McAlister's. The chili is some of the worst I've ever eaten... or left on the table as the case may be. The meat is about the same quality as Subway, another that I generally choose to drive on by. Those that love this place leave me baffled. What on earth have you been eating to make McAlister's the top choice?! If i need a sandwich and am in the area I would go for Jimmy Johns, then Panera then if all of the other places were on fire I would acquiesce and try to find something on the menu with flavor. McAlister's Deli is an ideal restaurant for any occasion. Their soups are perfect for cold weather, and they have refreshing menu items for hot summer days as well. Its prices may be a little steep for the kind of food you're getting, but I've never felt as though it wasn't worth it. The menu is extensive (featuring sandwiches, soups, salads and spuds), the employees are reasonably friendly, and the service is pretty fast, so it's especially perfect for taking a break from work for weekday lunches. This more about this location. Ordered online. When I got there, which was when it was to be ready. When I got up to the counter the lady looked confused and didn't seem to have the order. The manager asked and asked the name. Found the order for online but no one in the back had heard of the order. After 10 min she said it had to do with the potato orders. 7-10 minutes later here everything is. So I thought. I ordered and paid for a dinner salad and got a side salad. Ordered an extra side of coleslaw (see picture) and that is was I got for $1.25. I like McAlister's but this location buyer beware. read more

Southwest Chicken Sandwich was bland, dry, no sauce added to the sandwich. Our entire work department ordered food and everything had sauce forgotten and was disgusting. Unless you go to eat there, I wouldn't suggest taking anything to go without looking over everything first. read more

We would come here every Sunday for years. The place would be busy, but the employees were all quite skilled and were very customer focused. The place was remodeled about two months ago and it seems there is totally new management. Very few service people and no manager in sight. We go here on Sundays after church. About four weeks ago, it took more than 40 minutes for all the food to be delivered to the table and one order came about 10 minutes after the first two were delivered. Thinking this was an anomaly, we tried again the following Sunday. It was almost a carbon copy of the week before but the wait was reduced to about 20 minutes. We decided to go somewhere else for the next two weeks in hopes that the manager would get things worked out. We tried it again today, Surprisingly, The orders were delivered within 10 minutes, but it was all reversed again when we went to the counter to get our drinks refilled before we left. We were totally ignored for about 10 minutes. The service people would not respond when spoken to. Finally in a loud assertive voice, I was able to get a service person to respond. She said absolutely nothing in response, but did fill the drinks. I did express our frustration and said that we probably would not be returning and encouraged her to speak to her manager about the process. No response. It is a shame to see a successful establishment like this drop so quickly because of a change of management. I hope that a franchise district manager does see this review and that they sincerely try to bring this establishment back to an acceptable level of service. The food is good, but not exactly inexpensive. It was the combination of food and service that made it a good value. The service has totally plummeted at this store. Mcalisters is great for a chain sandwich shop. The menu is simple yet diverse. Basically you can get a turkey sandwich in any sandwich configuration such as sub, melt, panini, wrap, or club. Everything seems fresh and flavorful. The chicken tortilla soup and the lemonade are standouts. read more

My favorite food groups break down to beef, potatoes, cheese & soup, which they all have in excess. Huge baked potatoes. With cheese. French Dip sandwiches. With cheese. Baked potatoes with beef. And cheese. Now don't worry, there's all kinds of other stuff, cold, pressed and hot sandwiches, wraps and salads, plus desserts. Healthy takes like Caesar sandwiches that my husband has really enjoyed & salads that look lovely from afar on other people's plates. Went to this location with my 20 month old grandson since we were in the area and had such a wonderful lunch at the Cornell Rd McAllister in May. What a disappointment. The only grilled part of my Four Cheese Griller was its name. It was a bun with cheese and tomato that had been melted in a microwave. My grandsons chicken and broccoli looked ok but in comparison to what the Cornell Rd location served him, it was only that: just ok, some melted cheese on about 6 pieces of chicken and broccoli. It just seems sort of bland and ordinary to me despite all the seemingly amazing choices on the menu. I've eaten here many times because it's a friends fave, but cannot recall what I've eaten any of those times. The sweet tea is the last thing I tried and it was tasty. The staff were super friendly and service was fast, but I just can't get into this place for whatever reason. Most McAllister restaurants are pretty much the same. This one is typical. Quality of the food is very good. Really fresh veggies on my veggie spud (yummy). I was not given a spoon with my soup, so I just had to scoop it with tortilla chips. I was going to ask for a spoon when our waiter checked on us, but he never came back :/ No worries because it was way too spicy. Nice to have a place to get sweet tea though.
