    Spicy Southwest Chicken
    Jessica G.

It's been a while since I went to a McAllister's, so decided to try the recently opened location near Arundel Mills for lunch on a week day. Think of it like a Panera without the full bakery. I ordered the Spicy southwest chicken sandwich with chips and at $11 pre-tax, I thought it was good value for the price. (under $10 for lunch out is getting rarer and rarer) The sandwich itself tasted good and I liked the fluffy bread. Despite the title it was not spicy in my opinion, so I might ask them if they have options to make it spicier another time.

What a great addition to Arundel Mills. McAlister's Deli is so delicious. I love me an Italian sandwich and "The Italian" did not disappoint. Toasted to perfection, Italian dressing and spicy mustard, along with the meats and peppers...... amazing. The broccoli cheddar soup and bacon cheddar baked potato did not disappoint. They go along great as a side item or with a Pick 2 combo. Then the desserts, cookies, brownies and colossal carrot cake...... Oh My. The restaurant smells amazing, is clean and decorated for this holiday season. McKenzie was excellent. She provided great service with a smile on her face. That is the type of service I desire. Sign up for rewards and get a free Sweet Tea on the house. Enjoy!

I came for the food, but I'll be thinking about the carrot cake for a long time. My spud potato was amazing--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and super satisfying--but the real star of the meal was the carrot cake. And that's saying a lot, because carrot cake is my favorite dessert and I'm extremely picky about it. As you can see in the picture, I ate most of it before making this review. It was moist, perfectly spiced, not overly sweet, and with just the right balance of frosting. Every bite was spot on. I can confidently say this place is easily in my top three carrot cakes I've ever had. If you're a carrot cake lover, do not skip it. I'll definitely be back--if only for dessert.

So far so good. Welcome to the neighborhood. When I say my service was super fast it was. By the time o finished ordering they were calling my name. I got a pick 2 with the McAlister's club and veggie spud .... The mcalister club was very good. The veggie spud just ok. I like the baked potatoes option this is new for me at a deli. I sure plan on revisiting often over the next few weeks I gotta try more items. Fully remodeled so everything new and clean. Steady flow of lunch traffic. Employees still being trained but did amazing. Download the app to earn rewards as well.

It's my second time. Both visits I ordered sandwiches ( Grilled Chicken Club and Turkey Ranch BLT). Both were very flavorful. With your sandwiches you get a pickle and one side. They sell desserts (the sugar cookies are good), sandwiches, salads, potatoes, iced tea, lemondes, soups, etc. The customer service is good. They call your name when your order is ready. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The inside is very nice. I would good back and try something else.

First time I had McAlister's was in San Antonio back in 2007. My go to was always a baked potato and a sweet tea. So when I found out that there was one open in Maryland I was so excited! I ordered online and picked up but I'll say that the restaurant seemed small but clean. The gentleman at the cash register quickly acknowledged I was there for a pick up order. Okay...so now to the food! I went with the pick 2 option and chose the half veggie sandwich and substituted the bread for marble rye and ordered the spud max (turkey, ham, bacon, cheese, black olives). All items tasted good but not as good as I remembered. However, this spot is definitely a great option for a quick lunch. I would get it again.

Yay! I get to be the First to Review the new McAlister's, which is quite rare, only happened once in 2025 and before that may have been years ago. I went for the grand opening today at 10 AM. First 100 people got free tea for a year, once a week. There was a bit of confusion with the app we had to download like the O and 0 looked the same. I had typed O for the promotion code, but it was 0. There was a rumor we would have to make a purchase to redeem the free tea. I had already decided that I was going to get lunch to go, which I ate at home. The cashier confirmed no purchase necessary to redeem the free tea. So, I can get a maximum of 52 free teas (iced, sweet or unsweet) once a week, but it's not always going to be convenient, but I'd guess I'll redeem possibly half over the next year based on likelihood of going to Arundel Mills area. They also have a location in downtown Baltimore, making this the 2nd in MD, as well as multiple in northern VA, so theoretically if I have work travel to VA or other reason I'm down there I could redeem. Cashier was friendly, answering the various questions I had. It'd been over 10 years since I went to a McAlister's Deli, the one in Front Royal, VA, when I was going that direction for work travel. Going back, 15 years I went to McAlister's a few times when I lived in Birmingham, AL, and remembered I liked them. I got a Pick Two, half sandwich & half salad. There was a bit of confusion when I was trying to replace the bacon with more turkey; they didn't give me additional turkey, but it was a fair amount. It was the Turkey Ranch BLT; for me LT. I also got the Savannah salad, which had grilled chicken, dried cranberries, gorgonzola, honey roasted almonds, cucumber, & tomato. I got the food quickly; so I was impressed they were efficient even on opening day hecticness. After I chit chatted with a few people, I drove home. The one guy said he got a pick two with a different sandwich, salad combo. He got the grilled chicken sandwich with swiss cheese, spring mix lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard on a croissant. I ate about 45 minutes after I got home. The salad was great; I was do that particular salad again. The turkey sandwich was pretty good but pretty salty and was too drenched in the ranch. Next time, I'll get the grilled chicken sandwich as he highly recommended, and I think I'd like better, but I was a bit flustered trying to figure out the menu and not pay the upgrade fee. Unfortunately, a lot of the sandwiches have bacon on them, and there is no easy substitution like turkey bacon there, but I'm realized that grilled chicken sandwich doesn't come with bacon, and I think it'll be less salty than the turkey because the chicken on the salad didn't taste salty. Also, the free tea I got, the cashier asked me sweet or unsweet. I forgot I'd be asked that question. I said half sweet, half unsweet with the unsweet at bottom and sweet on top. It was the right amount of sweetness. The guy who highly recommended the chicken sandwich said the sweet tea was a little too sweet, and my half & half was a good strategy for him next time. Overall, this is a nice addition to Arundel Mills area. This was the former location of Baja Fresh in the shopping center with Safeway & Gong Cha boba tea at the far southern end of the center.

A solid deli choice for a meal near Arundel Mills. I went at lunchtime and it was busy. It's counter-order with table delivery. The staff was new and still under instruction from their corporate overlords, but service was quick. The restaurant itself was nicely remodeled. For food, I ordered the Reuben--a quintessential deli sandwich. Standard build: lightly toasted marbled rye, machine-sliced corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss, and Thousand Island dressing. It came with chips, and I added a sweet tea. Total was about $20 with tip (they do bus tables). Oh, and an optional pickle. I'm glad that ask as I often think most people would just throw them away. The sandwich was good, not great. The big miss for me was the bread--it wasn't grilled. I really missed the buttery crunch of a properly grilled Reuben. The corned beef was flavorful and plentiful, though I thought it could've used a bit more cheese. Overall, a solid effort, coming from a Reuben snob. The chips are Miss Vicky's, another solid choice. And the pickle was great. As for the "world famous" iced tea...well, if you have to say you are "world famous"... it was good. I'll definately come back to try my #2 favorite, the Italian sub.

In fairness, the place was busy but that also is typical on a Sunday around noon. We had a party of 5 and had to wait approximately 20-30 minutes to be seated. We received our coffee and waters however there were no spoons in our napkin of silverware so we had to use knives to stir in the creamer and sugar for the coffee. The waitress also brought a drinking cup full of half-n-half to the table for us to use in our coffee. This made quite a mess since pouring from a drinking cup resulted in drips and spillage onto the table. It was busy so we could not get the attention of anyone to ask for spoons after we realized they were not in the napkins. Jokes of course ensued about whether we were to use our fingers to stir our hot coffee. Later, when our entree's arrived, they had put 2 separate orders onto one plate and even though we requested fruit on the side for our french toast, the fruit was on top of the toast. These were all little, irritating things which combined made the dining experience memorable but for the wrong reasons.

Nalley Fresh seemed like a great choice with their veg-heavy menu and low-fat proteins. The Good: *Service is friendly but curt--which I don't mind if you're handling your business like a boss, which they were. *Lots of premade healthy options for you to select from, or one can do a Chipotle-style á la carte pick your own adventure option for their salads, wraps, and bowls. *Prices are reasonable at around ±$12 (remember this is an airport) The Meh: *We both liked our options (I got the "Healthy" & the lil' lady got the "Greek") and overall they were decent but we both felt like they just needed a little more flavor, salt, or something. I did appreciate how they added some nuts and/or seeds for texture, which is something a lot of these places overlook. The Ugly: *The wraps were a bit messy to eat on the plane, but not terrible. Next time I'm going with a bowl or salad. Conclusion: Probably 3.5* overall, but since we'd most likely be back I'll bump it up to 4*.

My fiancé and I have supported this local spot for years. It used to be a reliable go-to. But over time, something shifted--and now I know exactly what it is: the cook, Laura. On 11/28, I ordered steak and eggs. What I was served was not just unappetizing--it was dangerous. The steak smelled rancid, oozed a grayish liquid, and had visible discoloration. We flagged it immediately. Today, we returned to follow up and were horrified to learn that Laura had been explicitly told not to use those steaks because they were spoiled--and she served them anyway. Let that sink in. Why wasn't the meat discarded? Why did she knowingly serve it? Is she untrained, negligent, or something worse? And more importantly--why is she still employed? This isn't an isolated incident. Months ago, I stopped in for a quick lunch and became violently ill within the hour. I had to pull over to vomit and missed an important business meeting. I suspected something was off then, and from that point on, I would call ahead to make sure Laura wasn't cooking. Recently, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. That was a mistake. There's a level of disregard here that feels personal. When I asked to speak with her after learning about the spoiled meat, the staff refused and smirked like it was a joke. It's not. This could have led to hospitalization--or worse. This is a public health issue. Laura's actions were reckless, and the restaurant's failure to act is inexcusable. I'm mortified, furious, and deeply disappointed. Willy's was once a place I proudly supported. Now, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Until there's accountability, I won't be back--and I urge others to think twice before risking their health here.
