We ordered a 4 sandwich's and 4 drinks for delivery on March 5th unfortunately we only received 3 drinks and 2 of the 3 drinks were not drinkable due to it being all carbonation. The sandwich's did not come as ordered we asked for items to be removed and some to be added on others. I used to love McAlister's in high school, which admittedly is the last time I had it (12+ years ago). I remember their juicy chicken Caesar wraps, full to the brim with grilled chicken, lettuce, Parmesan, and Caesar dressing. Delectable. Add to that fresh baked potatoes with thin skin easy to bite into and lots of yummy toppings. We ordered from DoorDash tonight, which brings its own issues. That's for another review. This meal was sad. I ordered the 1/2 and 1/2, featuring a Chicken Caesar salad wrap and spud Mac. Note that I said CHICKEN Caesar salad wrap. One of these ingredients was conspicuously absent, and I'll let you guess which one. The tortilla was also stale and crumbled around the salad. The potato was fine. It was obviously reheated though, as the skin tends to toughen and get crusty. I can't say much for service or ambiance as we did not visit the store, but I'm sure they were fine too. Apparently it's the customer fault at this restaurant when they get your order wrong! Then when they remake it you have maybe 1/4 of the cheese that it should have on it. With zero apology or anything! Literally came to the table DROPPED the plate and walked away. Ridiculous. It was no big deal. Honestly I've tried to give this McAllisters a shot, but every time I come it's something. You're paying $12-$13 for half made food with barely any of the ingredients that are supposed to be on it. Today I ordered a tomato cucumber salad for $3 and it had about 2 bites of food ( just enough so cover the small container). My partners chicken Caesar wrap was almost entirely lettuce with barely any Caesar or chicken. This seems to be a common trend at this establishment (the lack of actual ingredients) even though you pay high prices because it happens almost every time here. I must say this is the first time we have actually had pleasant employees working here so that was nice. I didn't get the name of the guy with the long pony tail, but he was incredibly friendly. Doubt I'll give this place another shot though because I've already tried to multiple times. read more

This is the 3rd time I've been at this location (never been to another), and for the 3rd time, when specifying on-line that we wanted pickles added to our order, they were not. Such a simple task, yet ignored. I placed the last order on-line as "usual", but got there and they had no record of it. Still, once I did get out order, the King and Regular club sandwiches were delicious. The only drawback was how they were packaged; it was difficult to determine where one slice of sandwich ended and the other began, with toothpicks everywhere. I wanted tomato soup in a bread bowl to warm up. I saw it on an ad in the front of the restaurant . I went to the front to order and was told there was no tomato soup served that day. I told how I had seen the ad. The older gentleman taking orders told me to refer to the sign with the soups for the day. The manager was sitting and eating food next to the front of the restaurant. Ate at this restaurant on November 30th. While eating our meal, we noticed an ant crawling on the table. Then we looked to the right and there were many ants crawling up and down the wall. We called an employee over who said she would go tell her manager. She came back to us and said we have exterminators that come and there's nothing we can do. It's really repulsive that ants are crawling on the walls in a restaurant and then when the company is addressed with the problem they don't do anything about it. read more

Definitely not the amazing chef salad I got last time I ate at McAlister in Powell but still pretty good. Mostly salad, portions of deli meat were good, cheese and chopped tomatoes not very much. Still probably the best $8.00 lunch salad you could find in fountain city. Still definitely a better value than Panera and the first watch. Very pretty, newly renovated the old cici restaurant and did a nice job. Alot of light in the restaurant, nice booths although the tables are too high relative to booth height. People working in restaurant give you that local overly friendly down to earth blue collar north Knoxville somewhat quirky odd but not in a negative way vibe like they know you but they don't which is symbolic of fountain city. Now Mcalister is more about portion size and value than their main competitor, Panera, and their small portions but clean food gimmick. All and all McAlister is a welcome addition to the ever changing landscape known as fountain city. read more

I am a frequent customer at Fountain City McCalister's and the past 3 times have not been good. The past 3 times I have had incorrect orders, missing items, and/or the food was hard/cold. I called the store tonight to make a complaint; in which, a nice young lady answered the phone and took my information. She then set the phone down to speak with her manager, Angela, who was beyond unprofessional, rude, and was demeaning not only to the employee but to what she was telling the employee to say to myself. Angela stated it is not their responsibility to make sure everything is in the bag, that that is the Door Dasher's responsibility to check all of the items before leaving. She then stated that there was nothing she will do and it's not her problem. I believe it is McCalister's responsibility to first and foremost make sure all items are in the bag, the correct items are in the bag, and the temperature of the food is up to par. As a manager, this behavior is beyond unacceptable and as a Manager, I would expect better behavior and customer service! read more

I only give one because that is lowest I can give! I got a take out sandwich from the McAlisters on Tazewell Pike. It was a Turkey club with cranberry sauce. When I opened it looked like it had been dropped and put back together again by someone who didn't know what they were doing. One side looked like it had been put back together again with broken toothpicks. If I had not looked at the sandwich beforeI had taken a bite, I would probably be writing this from the hospital right now. There were broken toothpicks stuck everywhere in one side of the sandwich, a couple of pieces stuck straight up in the sandwich. It would have stuck straight up into the roof of my mouth! The biggest part of the sandwich was on that side and the bread and cheese and what was left from the other piece was stuck together with unbroken pieces of toothpick! The sandwich was a total mess. I went into the other room and asked my husband if he had dropped it and he asked me why. I told him the condition of the sandwich and he said no that he hadn't dropped it. I then came back and called McAlisters and asked to speak to the manager and after holding on for at least five minutes or more someone came on the line and I told them what happened. After telling them about the condition of their sandwich, she proceeded to tell me that they put toothpicks in their sandwiches, I told them Go quite a bit and order the same sandwich all the time and I know that there are toothpick in their sandwiches. Then she said well, if the toothpicks were broken. That is where I stopped her and said, 'there was no if about it, I just told you they were broken' after that statement from her, I just hung up on her. She was basically telling me that "if" the toothpicks were broken when I just told her they "were" broken, She wasn't acting like a manager but acting like someone who didn't know how to be a manager so that is why I am giving them a low rating. Just be sure if you go there to make sure you look for the toothpicks before you take a bite! I'll never go there again! read more
