The croissant was hard, but luckily I don't eat bread, so I push the chicken salad off onto the lettuce and tomato. It was a nice flavored however the portion size was small. Had a good first experience at McAlister's Deli. I actually ordered carry out and they were quick to complete the order and offered excellent customer service. Once our food was ready, they actually opened the boxes to show it to me so I could confirm the order was correct. Not many places do this and I think it is a nice gesture. They also included all of the necessary utensils in my carry out bag. Again, you'd be surprised how many places don't do this. All of the food we ordered was tasty, and the only complaint we had was that the steamed vegetables were over seasoned (both salt and pepper). We felt this may have just been due to someone having a heavy hand and don't feel it was worth losing any stars over. We also felt the menu prices were very reasonable. We'll definitely be back to try other menu options, and will keep them in mind f we ever need catering! read more

A frequent this location often and it's simply because the service and the good is fantastic! You can tell the GM is invested and her management team follows suite. Friendly, outgoing, wonderful servers. Overall, one of the most consistent places I've visited when it comes to customer service. I highly recommend anyone to try it. read more

Best chicken tortilla soup I've ever had... it's just phenomenal! And I know there are a lot of mixed reviews on the sweet tea, but I find it to be the best in the area. It's not over-powerfully sweet and it tastes fresh. No brown floaties! I work very close to this McAlister's, so I frequent it often if I'm in a rush for lunch or want to pick something up on the way home and I've never had bad service. Every one is extremely competent and friendly, and even though the restaurant may looked packed sometimes, the food comes out pretty fast. They've always gotten my order exactly right. My only negative advice toward McAlister's is to stay away from their loaded baked spud that has turkey on it... I threw it away after a few bites. I'm not sure how the other spuds are. read more

Absolutely delicuous!! It's not a gourmet restaurant but for a casual meal it beats even Panera in my opinion. I got the Cobb salad and the chicken club and both were fantastic. I really liked the salad with the Chipotle ranch dressing on it. The half club was a little small but the salad made up for it. Their lemonade is fantastic too. Service screw-up left me waiting for 15 minutes on a simple veggie sandwich order (while numerous other patrons ordered and left with their food) and when I received it, I drove away and began consuming it only to find their 'special sauce' dripped all over me and the sandwich itself fell apart in my hands. I also didn't realize this was a chain, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why it does as well as it does. The food is subpar and the prices are rather high for what you get. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather stab my eyes out with a dull pencil than go to Subway, but this place isn't much better. Note to McAlister's Deli: make your sandwiches tasty and delicious (regardless of size) and people will come back and even pay more than they might normally. read more

I just tried to get food from the Lansing McAlister's Deli, but was informed that from now on during the weekends they are closing at 7pm instead of the posted 10pm. This is a pretty poor business decision losing 3 hours of business, when there own site has the closing time set to 10pm. I guess I wont be going here again. read more

They will typically have fast service (depending on how many customers of course). They offer a variety of sandwiches and are always willing to make substitutions according to your needs. There are also bread types for whatever you'd like. The spuds are okay, I'm not a huge fan of bake potatoes but these are good. The tea they have is fantastic, especially on a hot day. I would recommend the spicy southwest chicken sandwich or the club, both are tasty and filling options! read more

It was fab though. Nice and fresh and the potato salad was better than moms. The sweet tea hit the spot. So I came back the next night. Big mistake. I got the appropriately named "Big Nasty. It was sliced beef on an open bun with the crappiest gravey poured over it. I wanted another tea, but the containers were open and where were dirty rags hanging over them. Tried this for the first and last time. Was optimistic about the New Yorker sandwich. One of my favorite combinations. What I'm not a fan of is soggy bread. It's as if they dipped the bread in the meat juice before serving it. The icing on the cake was my side of mashed potatoes and gravy. Taste gets a 9 out of 10, however I prefer them to be heated before serving. I give two stars, because my wife had a salad she says was good. This location is in the Eastwood outdoor shopping center so it's got plently of parking and is around lots of stores. I enjoyed the sandwiches and chips I got here. I am not a fan of sweet tea but some friends of mine who like it really liked McAlisters version. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place! Huge menu, baked goods, drink refills, kids choices with organic milk, and kids eat free Tuesday nights. We moved away from the area in 2007, and every time we come through now, this is where we eat. My favorite is their club with no mayo with Cole slaw. The slaw was a bit peppery this last visit but still great. The potato salad is also a good side choice, as is the tortilla soup, and applesauce for the kids. You order at the counter then they bring out their food. The staff walks around to refill drinks, bring extra napkins, boxes, etc. Overall, a family favorite! read more
