We just visited their new location down from their old location. It's twice the size and just as amazing as it ever was. I write a lot of reviews. Good and bad. Yeah I'm so pleased to report. This restaurant just keeps getting better. So many different deli sandwiches available. I truly do love them all. Who doesn't love potato salad? Or tortilla soup? fresh bread? Nothing irritates me more than seeing 6 employees standing around discussing their after-work plans or their messed up schedules, while one person takes orders and fields requests. This was the exact scenario the day we went in to grab a couple iced teas. I wasn't necessarily annoyed by the self-service unsweetened tea not being faced out so we could help ourselves. But I was pretty put out by the 1, 2, 3, 4 employees who made eye contact with me, noting my empty cup in hand, and went right back to their non- work related convos. Call me "Karen" if you must, but have you all heard the term "team- work"? Wake up kids, there are dirty tables that need bussing. Where's your leadership? I had good service with my food being made within minutes of ordering. This is an amazing place to hold a lunch in with friends and to get together, many tables throughout the restaurant. Placed an Online order with Delivery.Com for Wednesday, 12/4/24. It arrived on-time. Delivery person was great. Delivery.Com person asked employee or manager did you put the person's name on the meals? Answer was No because they were too busy. Delivery.com even asked to help with putting the names on the order of 14 people's lunches, since trying to figure out who ordered what, is not simple, No too busy. I am a frequent customer, I come to Lansing on business often and this is one of my stops! The staff is always nice, sometimes I dine in and sometimes I just go through the drive-through. The drive-through is super convenient. I have tried just about everything on the menu at one time or another and there honestly is no bad choices. The portions are extremely generous, you will not leave hungry. Everything is very well-made and always fresh. My favorite is the Rachel Ruben, which is basically like a California Ruben, but again there's no bad choices. The macaroni and cheese is heavenly. The restaurant is always clean and the bathrooms are always well-maintained and in good order. The only complaint that I can give which is a minor, is sometimes when I utilize the drive-through. They will forget things like sauces or utensils. It's frustrating, but not enough to keep me away. read more

Got a turkey and roast beef sandwich, came out really wet. I ordered spicy mayo and they didn't put it. Service was good I guess, nothing insane. The waiter walked by me with my order and didn't hear me when I called him back, someone else had to point him to me. Mac n cheese was not good at all, again very wet not creamy. I've been here a few times now and have some opinions, good and bad. I really love the garden salad, especially with the buttermilk ranch. Very fresh and the quality of the ingredients is always good (I find myself craving this a couple times a month). I always get the four cheese melt which is super yummy and I especially love the tomatoes on it. Today when I went, I ordered online and customized to do extra tomatoes, but somehow not a single tomato made it onto my sandwich. Super disappointing. I've also noticed that anytime I go in, the workers seem to be having a great time talking to each other, but when it's mine turn to order, they seem super annoyed and upset that I'm there taking up there time. This has been consistent throughout all my visits whether I order online or in person. On top of that, I find that when I order in person I usually end up waiting five minutes for a worker to stop talking to their coworkers and come help me. But the food is decent, kind of expensive for what it is, but I'm really disappointed by the customer service. If that improves, this will be my new go to spot when I'm craving a sandwich and salad! read more

Good food but you will be waiting 45 minutes to get it and it's the price of a legitimate nice restaurant too. May as well go to a nice restaurant if that's the case. Their employees take their sweet sweet time in the back making your food and you always have 10+ orders in front of you that are online orders as well. Cashier was less than friendly. Had a simple order and we had to repay it 3 times. Tortilla soup can without tortillas, so we asked for some. Person who brought them only bright 1 package of 4 chips for 2 of us to share for a large bowl of soup and a cup of soup. So... we asked for the correct servings. Soup was cold. Asked for it to be warmed. That request was less than nicely received. Chicken Caesar wrap came without dressing as requested, but without dressing on the side, as requested. Suffice it to say... The service team was off pace tonight. Maybe short staffed or other focused. It was not busy. Only 4-5 tables full, including us. Will certainly give them another try. My new fun employer ordered for a meeting to delight my tastebuds. Even looking at the menu you can tell it's not the plain sub place everyone likes to go to. The sandwich variety is impressive. Flavors, styles, dietary needs and needs are all met on their menu. I ordered the turkey and ham club sandwich embellished with a cranberry orange relish. Nothing was missing. The meat flavor, thickness and grade were on par with a family deli. The wheat toast, the healthy tomatoes and lettuce gave harmony to every bite. I didn' tneed to add extra mustard or mayo. The perfectly cut club quarters were perfect. I was full with the first two but finished them all to savor as much as possible. I will be back for more. I can't comment on service or location information but I will definitely be back for more, with my Mother in tow. read more

I came in a few days ago and the customer service was horrible, there was three people at the front counter talking to the people in the back and i didn't get helped for 5mins being the only person in line. When i sat down after ordering the table had yellow crusted on it and crumbs on the chair. I got a new yorker and when i opened my bun bc i like to add mayo on mine, i seen a cock roach shedding on the meat. This made me sick to my stomach, they gave me my refund but didn't deny any allegations of having an infestation. Wont be visiting here again. read more

Whoa, I'm surprised by all the low reviews. I'm a fan and only wish there was one in the Detroit area. I look forward to this deli for a quick, pretty healthy and fairly inexpensive bite when I'm at Eastwood rather than a heavy-sit down restaurant/sports bar that surround the area. I've tried many items on the menu and can only recall once or twice where I wasn't a fan of what I ate. My favorite is the chicken tortilla soup, but during my most recent visit, had the half club and the half savannah chopped salad. I particularly liked how the mustard and mayo weren't overpowering the turkey, ham, bacon, cheddar, Swiss, lettuce and tomatoes. It was a neat sandwich, one that I could pull apart to eat half at a time instead of all at once. The salad was supposed to have grilled chicken breast but came meatless. It was fine, but I wonder if their half portions are sans meat. Loved the combination of dried cranberries, gorgonzola, almonds, tomatoes and cucumbers with a light sherry shallot vinaigrette. I'm at fan and eat here occasionally. A colleague of mine eats there on a much more regular basis. McAlister's sends out gifts for birthday and has "kids eat free" every Tuesday. Descent for a fast casual food deli. Sometimes it does take longer than expected but I would still consider it reasonable. Today was a special event, it was packed and the whole crew was on top of everything. This is not something you want to pick up and eat in the car; you should eat there or at your destination. I think the food does vary a little from time to time but for the most part it is a dependable and healthy place with lots of options for everyone. I love the Savannah Chicken salad! read more

The croissant was hard, but luckily I don't eat bread, so I push the chicken salad off onto the lettuce and tomato. It was a nice flavored however the portion size was small. The sandwiches are less than spectacular, and even though they have a big selection, for as many sandwiches as I've tried (my mom used to bring home sandwiches from her office), I haven't found one that has ever wowed me. The thing that bothers me most about McAlister's- their sweet tea. I lived down south for a hot minute, and Sweet Tea is like water out there. Now you really can't get it around EL too much, so when I saw it here I was super excited. However the inconsistency here kills me. Sometimes it's like syrup, and other times its like they barely put in any sugar. I think they're using lipton (yes, the type of tea bags you use does make a difference).
