Had 2 great salads. Ordered thru door dash and no complaints. Planning to try more items in the future.

It's decent food for decent price. Sometimes they do get the order wrong or leave things out of to go orders. I will return.

My previous 4 trips were excellent! Today was the exception. I ordered the smoked pepper jack turkey on Cibatta . There was no bacon and only 4 1/2 slices of turkey. I will try Jimmy Johns or Firehouse Subs the next time in Liberty! read more

This place isn't great. The restaurant was very dirty. My food was made incorrectly twice. Seemed like they are trying to be like Panera without the fancy seating and decor and bakery but that lack of aesthetic leave nothing but a crappy deli with subpar food and a dirty restaurant. read more

I gave this new deli a try a couple weeks ago. Upon entering, the space looked very nice and clean and the decor is decent. It was a little late for lunch so not overly busy. I received immediate service and the staff was friendly. I ordered a tuna salad sandwich which comes on a toasted croissant and a side of potato salad. This was a to go order. When I arrived back at the office and opened my food, the disappointment set in. Burnt croissant, very little tuna and cheap grocery store tasting potato salad. The tuna did taste good but I could not eat the potato salad and threw away the croissant. As I am a seafood only vegetarian, this is about the only interesting item I will order from this deli. Was hoping for another deli the same caliber as Panera (which is awesome with many choices) or Jason's Deli (off the hook salad bar), but McAlister's just doesn't come anywhere close. I thought this was FAST casual?! It took over 45 minutes to get a baked potato and bowl of soup. Food didn't come out at the same time. They forgot the silverware each time they delivered another plate. They started turning people away at the door during dinner. They were handing out hundreds of free cookie coupons to the pissed off people. Did a manager just quit? It was a cluster and I don't think there was a single person working there older than 15. read more

I've had nothing but good experiences at the Lee's Summit location, so it hurts to ding Liberty...but it's deserved. Front end service is slow at best. People are friendly, mind you...but slow. Food is poorly presented and poorly prepared. First hot sandwich came out ice cold, second one came back piping hot, but missing cheese. I gave up at that point. Expediters and management need to go back and get retrained on what's expected and figure out how to maintain the brand standard. Not a good representation of the business. read more

Very great food but the service is not very good. When I went the food took forever to come out and they had to start turning people away. Friendly and apolitical staff but disappointing. I hope this is just a bump in the road because they just opened because it has great potential. read more

I love their food taste super good it's Rich and the best part about it is that it they they don't make it messy. But the service can be pretty bad and sometimes it's like a 10 minute wait whenever it was like four people in front of you. read more

Last night (3/9/18) our group of 12 decided to have our monthly dinner out at your deli. I will be honest, I looked you up for the menu and reviews and to find out where you are located. I was not happy with many negative reviews and wondered why your place was chosen. I, also, have food sensitivities so I checked out your menu to see what I could have. I knew what to order before arriving and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised! A very nice young lady (Colleen) took my order after suggesting some cost saving options. It was lovely to be greeted with a smile since that seemed to be an issue in the past, per reviews. I requested water with no ice and she supplied me with a large cup filled with just what I asked for. I was given a table number so I could be located when my food was ready. I ordered the steamed veggies (as a side dish) and a cup of parmesan & kale soup. When both arrived the soup looked very inviting and I asked the gal that brought it over if I could have some butter for the veggies. She immediately brought me three packets and I put butter on them. Sadly, the veggies weren't even lukewarm so none of the butter melted even a little bit. When she brought more food over for my friends I asked her if she could put it in the microwave for about 30-45 seconds and told her why. She, actually, brought me over a new serving of piping hot broccoli and baby carrots. Just perfect and the butter melted immediately. The veggies were perfectly steamed and flavorful. Now, on to the soup. It may seem like kale soup is an odd offering but I loved it! The subtle parmesan added to the robustness and there were little bits of sausage as well. The broth was very flavorful and I told the gal next to me that she should try this soup the next time we come because we have similar tastes. Another gal came over to our area about 3-4 times to see if we would like refills on drinks. One of us asked her if we needed to leave because we had been there a couple of hours and she assured us that there was no need. It was kind of her not to make us feel rushed. The inside is much larger than it appears from outside. There were many tables and a steady flow of customers was evident all evening. Every one of us enjoyed the meal and we all had different things. I look forward to trying other items on your menu. I was excited to have another restaurant from my hometown in liberty, so I went in and got the king club, a tea, and a cup (not the bowl) of soup. Just buying a sandwich, soup, and a drink was nearly 16 bucks. I don't know if this is new, but the up-charge for the soup seemed higher than usual, and the tea usually comes with the meal. I usually spend around 10 dollars for the same thing back home, if I recall correctly. If you want a mediocre sandwich and soup, with good tea, at a premium price, this is a perfect place for it. I'm not burning a 20 dollar bill for a nostalgia kick from my hometown. If I wanted to burn that much money on a good sandwich, I'd have went to planet sub. The new building looks nice but seemed a bit cluttered, like they haven't quite gotten the sitting space down yet. read more

I've had better at a Gas Station "Deli" pre-made sandwiches. Overpriced, and over hyped! They really push their sweet tea, you would think it was great...no taste like any other instant tea. The menu.... I picked from the "vegetarian" menu, basically a grilled cheese hot pocket with a tomato in it, tomatoe in it or on the side was my choice!... way over hyped and unhealthy! Then the side I got the Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Look, just go to KFC for that!!! I have NO reason to return to McAlisters! I want deli? Hit up your Hucks or Mach1 convenience store! read more

We arrived with high expectations from reading the online menu but sadly, the sandwiches are average at best. Counter service was indifferent, we got to the front of one line and the kid said he'd be right back, then disappeared. Finally got behind a woman in a different line just in time to see the kid return and take someone else's order. Drinks are huge, no choice of sizes. My wife's sandwich came out first, then five more minutes for mine--both club sandwiches, nothing special. I agree with others who believe the front counter people could use some training--at least pretend you're glad to be there. read more

Traveling up to Mayo Clinic and stopped for the night. Needed a warm dinner on this cold night. The lady ahead of us ordered the extreme nachos so my husband followed suit. I enquired about several soups and was told the veggie was full of good size vegetables and really yummy. What a disappointing first visit! The nachos had a little tepid queso and almost cold chili. The little bit of grated cheese didn't even begin to melt (who knew? I thought nachos were served hot?) My soup tasted almost exactly like a Progreso soup I've had out of the can. The unmistakable flavor you get from canned vegetable soup was overpowering. The vegetables all had the same texture and were cut in such precisely small pieces, it's definitely made in a large vat. Service on 11/22/17 was extremely slow for us and several other tables sitting around us. Several customers standing around, waiting for food orders. After receiving our baked potato, it was so old, the skin was hard. Wasn't sure if it was baked at 6AM that day or the day before! The staff are great, but when you can't get food to customers in a timely manner and then it's poor quality, go somewhere else! We visit the store in Shawnee, KS and they have great food and fast service! No return visits here along with several other very unhappy customers that night! read more

Approached the counter, no other customers in line, there were 5 employees at the front. I stood at the register for 5 minutes before anyone asked if I had been helped. I ordered a sandwich and a salad. 25 minutes later I am still waiting for my meal. About 4 other sets of customers have come in to order behind me. The kitchen staff has 5 people working as well. With 10 employees plus the manager you would think they could make a simple order. Arrived 8:00pm, finished post at 8:28 (still no order). read more

We ate here for the first time tonight, not a lot of customers, we ordered at 6:45 got our food at 7:10 (strike 1) it was warm at best (strike 2) and it was only ok (strike 3) and since we had to wait 25 minutes at what is basically a fast food restaurant we don't plan on going back. read more

McAlister's had been a go-to restaurant for us, but they have struggled lately to include all ingredients in the Southwest salad, whether ordered to go or eat in. And they often forget the au jus on the Angus baked potato. I hope they can make the improvements needed. read more

This is the second time we've visited this location. Both visits have been horrible. We will not be back for a third. It's Saturday at dinner time and the restaurant is empty. That should have been our first clue. We stood at the register for more than five minutes waiting to order. No, there wasn't anyone ahead of us, just nobody available to take our order. Food was just okay. We both ordered steamed broccoli and it came out cold. The restaurant is very dirty and viewing cooks in the kitchen while waiting I saw at least one health code violation. Don't spend your money here. It's not a well managed restaurant. read more

Jackey provided great customer service, helped my friend and I with questions about the menu, gave him a sample of tea, and explained the different options for cookies. The food is decent and priced well however the front register service is beyond slow. If you are there at a peak time, go somewhere else unless you want to be there over an hour. Good food, prompt service. Seemed to have a lot of customers. Two observations: their drink cups for soda seem flimsy and not easy to carry. Secondly, although they had someone wiping tables, they were not real effective in getting all the food off the tables and chairs. read more

Horrible experience. They messed up an order and wouldn't resolve the issue the same night. That left us with no dinner at 8 pm after waiting for our food for 2 hours. The portions were far smaller than if we'd dined in. Part of the delay was due to Door Dash. The order was placed online so there's no excuse for getting the food wrong on McAlister's end. The ridiculously small portions were also due to McAlister's cheating their customers on delivery orders. The chili we'd ordered was cold and excessively salted so we had to dilute it just to eat it. The kicker was trying to review them on their Facebook page. They block all negative reviews not posting them and saying "something went wrong, try again later." Do yourself a huge favor and eat anywhere else but McAlister's. If they cared, they'd allow and read bad reviews to fix their mistakes. They don't. All they want is your cash. Eat Somewhere Else in Liberty. There are plenty of other options. read more

Great food but slow and poor customer service. There were only 2 women working up front, they weren't busy, and when we stepped to register to order we stood there for 15 min at least and we were never acknowledged by either employee. They were both working on to-go orders and when one girl was done filling drinks she stepped up to the to-go register and asked people behind us what they wanted. Both saw us waiting there forever but never asked if we'd been helped. I wanted to say something. I was very upset bc I'm 9 mo pregnant and anemic and couldn't stand there waiting any longer to even be acknowledged. My husband did go back in for me and he had to wait forever, again. I doubt we'll return anytime soon. They need a better system. read more

While the food was okay, this review is based upon the lack of service and accuracy of my order. The individual taking my order didn't greet me and certainly didn't look happy about being there! I ordered The Italian without peppers, mac n' cheese and an unsweetened tea. I wasn't asked if I wanted a pickle spear (which I enjoy). The tea was delicious, and that was all that was delicious. I would have filled out the survey but I didn't receive a receipt nor was I thanked for my business. Anyway, my sandwich came with peppers, a few leaves of the "spring mix" and all the other trimmings. The sandwich was okay. The Mac n' cheese was lukewarm and looked like it had been sitting out for a while. It tasted fine, but a bit warmer would have been good. The server who brought my meal apologized for the wait, which was very nice. Multiple people passed my seat, never stopping to take my empty plate or offering to refill my tea-ridiculous. They weren't that busy that they couldn't multi-task and at least pick up my empty plate. Offering to refill my tea would have helped tremendously in the overall rating. Because McAlister's has the best tea around I will probably stop in for tea but doubt I will be back for food. Terribly disappointed because when I've been here in the past the service was a big reason I returned. Too bad McAlister's will lose a customer but I'm not paying this kind of money for this lack of quality in both food and service !!! read more

Went in to try them for the first time on a Saturday evening. The place had tables and chairs but no signs or anyone letting you know what you had to do to dine in. We waited a full 10 min watching 2 large groups come in and go to the top go line but no one noticed us or gave us a chance to ask a question. I finally asked for the manager and told him we were leaving and why. I will drive an hour for a great sandwich but I can't stand being ignored when I come into a restaurant. My husband and I ate here for the first time, last Thursday. He had the New Yorker and I had the Garden Fresh Turkey. We were both highly satisfied. The sandwiches were packed thickly with meat and we both ate half with half to take home. Then today, 5 days later, we decided to order to go. Again I got the Garden Fresh Turkey, but this time I was so disappointed! The taste was good, but the amount of meat was about half of what was on the sandwich last week and it was all clumped together on one side! My husband's roast beef and cheddar was even worse. I wish I'd taken a picture to show how little meat there was on his sandwich! Unbelievable comparison from the first visit to the second one just 5 days later!
