Late lunch/early dinner on a Friday and this place was hopping. Service is fast and friendly. Order at the counter, receive a number to display on a stand at the table, and food is brought out soon thereafter. I drank quite a bit of their unsweetened iced tea and will agree that it is tasty. Free refills. I tried a turkey melt and potato salad and my friends had salads, spuds, and various sandwich options. We were all content with the food. My complaints: Large dirt clods beneath a few dining tables, napkins on the floor, and slow table cleanup. The worst infraction though was NO paper towels in the women's restroom to dry hands AND it was brought to the attention of an employee and was NOT fixed during the remainder of our visit (at least another hour) and our subsequent bathroom visits (thanks to the unlimited iced tea). shout out to Breckenridge McAllister's! The food is always great and tasty and the staff at this location are friendly and courteous. The manager Keith is always super enthusiastic and the gentleman with the longer dark hair who often works the cash register (no name tags so don't know the name) and runs food is super friendly and is a really hard worker. We always see him cleaning or doing something productive when there's no one placing an order. We are new to town and this is becoming one of our regular haunts! read more

Last visit I got the New Yorker and it opened my eyes to the wonder of McAlisters. This time I chose The Italian. Every bit as good. Piled high with salami, ham, provolone and roasted peppers, and toasted, this substantial sandwich is full of flavor. A suggestion. Know what you plan to order before you step up to the counter. My server seemed to be rushing me through my order. Thankfully, I had my ducks in a row. Right down to the jalapeño chips and unsweetened ice tea. After you place your order, you get a number and a few minutes later someone tries to find you. Poor servers walk around like lost souls. McAlisters is always a good choice when you're looking for a good salad, soup or spud. It's generally always packed, so they've got to be doing something right! The pecan berry salad I highly recommend if you want a good spring/summer salad. It's got chicken, pecans, blueberries and strawberries and a raspberry vinaigrette. I don't go to McAlister's very often but when I do, I'm always happy with the experience. Sometimes, there's a bit of a line when you're first walking in but the staff are very quick to take people's orders and get them seated. I pretty much always order the McAlister's club sandwich because it's one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The bread is always fresh, it has a slight spongy texture, so it soaks up the condiments nicely. It's never dry or stale. The honey mustard is my favorite aspect of the sandwich. It's not too sweet, it has a bit of a tang to it. It's a little watery but it's flavorful. It really ties the whole sandwich together. I always opt for the tomato off, that's the only thing I don't like about the sandwich but it isn't an issue since you can customize it any way you prefer. I also order the mac and cheese as a side and it's very good. They don't give you much which is a bit of a bummer but it's creamy and cheesy. It could use a little seasoning, like a pinch of salt and pepper. My girlfriend also orders the McAlister's club sandwich but last time, she decided to try it with country potato soup as a side. She really liked it and despite not getting much of it, it was very filling. It was also rich and creamy, very cheesy but had a very subtle flavor. Overall, I like coming here when I can. McAlister's 9/19/25 I have never been treated so rudely as when I just visited the Breckenridge Lane McAlisters to get a sandwich. I've been a McAlister's customer for longer than most of the employees at this restaurant have been alive, and I'll NEVER return. The way both managers (and I use that term loosely) acted and embarrassed me in front of everyone in the restaurant is cause for dismissal! After ordering my food and picking a table, I put the card with my number on the table and went to wash my hands and find a salt shaker. When I returned, a man was cleaning my table and had my drink along with the other things I sat on the table in his hands. When I asked him what he was doing, he said he thought I was finished (although card was still in the holder on the table), and he was cleaning the table. I understand a mistake, I make them all the time myself, but as I was talking with the busser, a "manager" (and again I use the term loosely), came over and asked what the problem was. When I tried to explain it to him, he got hostile and immediately went to get another "manager" who also got hostile with me. This person told me that I was not welcome in his restaurant and would I vacate the premises. I told him that I'd be glad to when I got my money back. He claims I got "in his employee's face" and he would not tolerate that. He said "when you learn how to act in a restaurant, you are welcome to return!" I am 69 years old and have been in more restaurants than this man will ever be able to, and I know perfectly well how to conduct myself in any situation! I promise you, I will NEVER return to his or any other McAlister Deli! By the way, the other employee who acted like he wanted to get in my face should have tried, then we would have had a good mess! The manager you have at your Breckenridge Lane location is a disgrace to your company and should be fired! Any manager who treats customers, especially customers who spend a great deal of money with your company, the way I was treated today should not be managing (very loosely) your store! Great place to get together with friends and family for lunch. Met a total of ten beautiful ladies there today for an impromptu ladies lunch and I was impressed. My food was really good and quickly delivered just as ordered. My mom even commented how fresh the croissant was that held her chicken salad. Everyone at the table just talked and ate and talked some more. Big shout out to Stacy who checked to see how everything was and if we needed any refills. Just a beautiful friendly young lady who definitely understands customer service and a good dine in experience. My husband picked up dinner tonight and I ordered a choose 2, potato and half sandwich. The French dip was 3 inches long with little roast beef and nothing else! I called the store to make them aware as I have never had a sandwich that small from McAlister's. She said that it was the new specification, removing 2 oz of roast beef as well as the cheese that used to be on the sandwich. What I wanted: a naked chicken taco salad from Qdoba. What I encountered: Qdoba is not serving romaine lettuce currently due to the recall...and they have not acquired anything to be put in place of that...like spinach or mixed greens or hell, even iceberg lettuce. But ya gurl had just finished a fitness class and was HUNGRY. So a quick look up the strip of businesses and saw McAlister's Deli...and figured that they would have some salad-y type options. And indeed they did. I quickly settled on the Italian Chopped Salad with balsamic vinaigrette, and a soda, to go. Altogether it ran me just under $12. I think there is an option for a half sized salad and I really should have gone with that...this salad is MASSIVE. And it was...fine. It would have been easier to eat, easier to mix together, and more enjoyable to eat if the iceberg lettuce within the mixed greens was in smaller pieces an not solid chunks the size of my fist... It isn't on my list of usual food places, the locations I am aware of are not particularly convenient to me, and it just generally isn't my kind of place. My family and I have been to many Mcalisters and this is by far the worst one. When we got our food, most of it came out wrong. My mother order a spud with butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon and broccoli, and they completely left off the butter and bacon. Her ultimate nachos were composed of crumbs and very skimpy on the toppings. When we asked on of the employees for sombacon and some butter for her potato, the girl walked off and did not come back to the table at all. We then asked another employee and she also did not come back. The manager came to our table and had a very condescending tone. She brought back two butters and a little bacon for their large potatoes. My sister had also asked for sour cream for her food and did not receive anything. Every fall Panera switches up its soup menu, swapping out its lighter fare in favor of heartier winter soups, leading me to look elsewhere for a soup-and-sandwich combo that won't weigh me down. And that's where McAlister's comes in (unless there's a Jason's nearby; then it's a toss-up). I'm a fan of both the garden turkey sandwich and the beef dip, and both pair well with the fire-roasted veg soup. Come spring, I'll head back to Panera, where the bread is hard to beat, but this is perfectly serviceable alternative until then. read more

Love this place for lunch! I had the Mcalisters Club w steamed veggies. Sandwich comes on a rosemary toast and has plenty of meat and veggies accompanied by their honey mustard sauce. I had the steamed veggies on the side, always a favorite, but seasoning on the veggies was non-existent. Not sure if all these are going away from it, but as much as I like veggies I do like a -little- seasoning on them. Service was fast at the counter, and food was great. I usually get asked a couple of times if I want a refill on my drink, but not at all today. I am used to great customer service from McAlister's, but this location has pretty unfriendly employees. The only nice person I came across was the man that put together my pick-up order. He was very pleasant and even joked with me, but the other employees that worked there seemed very unhappy. I should have checked my order because two things were missing: the potato salad that came with my sandwich and the pickle that came with my dad's wrap. It was a good thing I ordered an extra side of Mac and cheese by chance, otherwise I wouldn't have had a a side. A nice mistake that happened is that the man that gave me my order thought that the cookies I had ordered had not been put in the bag- they had, so he accidentally gave me two extra cookies. I did not realize until I got home, otherwise I would have brought them back. The food itself was good. My dad and grandfather loved their soups and sandwiches. The Southwest Chicken Salad had absolutely no flavor, and was doused in hot sauce to give it a hint of taste. They don't have this chain where I live, sadly, because I'm a fan of a well-made sandwich. The more regional and different, the better. Muffulettas from New Orleans, Reubens from New York City, The Big Nasty from... wait, where is that from? Yeah, they have a sammie called The Big Nasty. Intrigued, I tried one on this visit. I was pleasantly impressed. It's an open-faced baguette with hot roast beef, shredded cheddar cheese, and brown gravy. I'm not sure if they invented it, but it was delicious. Very messy to eat, but still worth it. I had a cup of soup on the side, the baked potato, and I was unfortunately a bit underwhelmed. The broth bit was more soupy than chowdery, thinner than I would expect. The potato chunks were good, but almost flavorless. The biggest flavor came from the green onions on top. It was okay, just very bland, which was strange. These items plus a drink ran close to $15, which to me is a bit much for lunch. Still, I guess I did over-order, and it was worth it. This is an incredible example of "why did I eat that?" McAllister's Deli has excellent sandwiches and potatoes but their sides are a crime against food. I don't like having to doctor my food up. Their "New Yorker" sandwich makes me really happy and is a part of my haircut routine (McAllister's is right by my barber). I want to rave about this place because there are several things I like about the place - especially as a retired special education teacher I love that they have people with "varying abilities" working in meaningful ways. Part of why I keep going back to McAllister's is a desire to encourage that kind of hiring. Everyone can contribute, somehow, and it's nice to see the "differently able" or however you want to term them working alongside everyone else. However, this place usually takes a while (the scourge of having too much on your menu) and while some of the people here are polite too many are surly. My order is often wrong and I don't change up my order, I order it like they make it. I wouldn't go out of my way to go to McAllister's but it's a good choice when you're right by it. If I wanted my food to take a long time, for my order to be wrong, and for people to be rude to me there is Wendy's right there, too. It's a very expensive place when you consider what you get and how bad the service can be. There's better food and better service, for the price. read more
