Mccalisters is a tried and true chain, if you like one you like them all, they are efficient and serve delicious deli food. Their warm sandwiches are my favorite and so is the sweet tea. This is a good deli. I would rank them above Jason's for example. The sandwiches are interesting and well made, and their portions are generous. A big fan of the chili ultimate nachos! Sometimes, we just want something fresh and light on any given night. This place delivers and it's slow at night - so no wait times like every other restaurant on Sat when we just want to grab something quick. Food was good. Managements response to an employee having a coughing fit in the midst of COVID-19? Not so much.... My coworkers and I stopped by for lunch and while waiting in line noticed an employee have a huge coughing fit to the point that the current customer ordering asked if she was ok. After coughing and regaining her composure, she went back to taking orders/serving food. This bothered us given the current social climate and we almost left. However we ordered anyway and my coworker requested that he be allowed to get his food at the counter rather than it being brought to the table by the coughing employee. A different employee brought our food and we ate. However, when we were close to finishing our meal the manager came over to reassure us that all her employees are healthy, and sick ones are sent home if they try to show up for work. She also added in a condescending tone that her coughing employee has a pre-existing condition that causes her to cough a lot and that her FEELINGS were hurt. To which my coworker responded that given that we are currently experiencing a global pandemic, can you blame him for requesting to get his food from someone that is not coughing? The manager replied with all her employees and healthy and that her coughing employee's feelings were VERY hurt. The tone that the manager spoke with was condescending and insinuated that an apology needed to be made immediately. If you have an employee handling food that has a pre-existing condition that causes them to cough so much that they must remove themselves from their station, can you not expect a customer to question their health or request to handle their own food? Also, if you really do have a pre existing condition that causes you to cough a lot, would yet another customer taking notice offend you so much that the manager needs to demand an apology? This is probably one of my favorite places for a pick 2 deal. It's perfect for when you craving a salad, sandwich, soup, etc. but don't want to order full size items for the main dishes. For under $8, I was amazed on the portions of the half salad and half sandwich. The turkey cranberry sandwich was stacked like a double decker. Plenty of meat and the cranberry sauce is not overpowering. The chicken salad seemed like a full salad portion. The chicken in it is extremely tender, well seasoned and generous portion as well. They do put a small container of the dressing inside the salad. Which for me was not enough to dress the entire salad. So if you enjoy your salads with a good amount of dressing make sure you request extra dressing. I recommend the chipotle ranch. Not spicy at all, but you get a nice subtle smokey flavor. You definitely will get your bang for you money for half sandwich and salad. Not sure about the other pick 2 combinations but I will try later. Place is clean and even for late hours, around 10pm, the service was fast and food was fresh. read more

MOST of the time the place has been awesome. However the last 2 times I have gone for my staple lunch (Caesar Salad add ckn), I have been really disappointed. The salad was wilted last time, and the time before it was so small I thought they gave me like a 1/2 portion - but when I took to ask them at the counter, the guy said its the normal size. Had I not had this exact same salad once a week over the past year I might have believed him. Not sure what happened to my favorite lunch spot... I went to this location on my lunch break. I placed my order and the gentleman that took my order was in a hurry for some reason because there was No Line but i ordered and paid for my food. I waited for 15-20 minutes and watched as several people that came in and ordered after me wether they were togo or dine in, they all received their food prior to me. I've gone to busier locations in the past and it never took that long for me to receive my food. I ordered a simple club sandwich. I had to leave without my food because again I was on my lunch break, I chose a sandwich place because it normally doesn't take long. I love McAlister's but this definitely turned me off. If you have all day then go for it but if you're on a time crunch or im a hurry DO NOT go to this location! read more

Can't go wrong with McAlisters, I did have one complaint. I went here a bit ago for lunch and ever single empty table was dirty. I understand it was during the lunch rush, but I ended up taking my food to go because I couldn't even find someone to help clean a table off with me. We have been to this location numerous times and haven't had a problem. This past week we had a terrible experience with an employee. Upon entering the restaurant it looked as though there was no one at the counter, but we then realized that the employee was on her phone, head down and not paying any attention to customers arriving. Once she saw us she proceeded to take our order but seemed annoyed that we were there. When our order was ready we saw it sitting in the window and asked the employee, who was texting on her phone again, if we could please have our order. She then gave us a very dirty look and handed us our food. When we got home we realized that a few things weren't correct with our order. Not sure that we will go back. Customer service is so poor these days. read more

I am in love with their food!!! And the tea is out of this world the staff is on point, management has a strong sense of how to run a ship!!! Very nice visit with the workers. However the soup was cold, sandwich stale and I got food poisoning... do not go here.

I went to this location today with three co-workers and had a terrible experience. The first person at our table received their food within a reasonable amount of time. After that, the food was delivered 10 minutes apart, the last person getting their food nearly 30 minutes after ordering. Although it took way too long for a sandwich to be made a delivered to the table, my sandwich tasted OK. However, two other peoples sandwiches were terrible. One sandwich had little to no meat on it and they forgot the cheese. The other sandwich, a French Dip, was damn near rare and dripping red blood on the plate. When we arrived at McAlister's and placed our orders, there was no line and no waiting. There's no excuse for orders to come out this slowly. Won't be back. read more

Within walking distance of the hotel and just wanted a light meal. Ordered a bowl of their fire roasted vegetable soup to go. It looked so good on the menu!! I appreciate that the bowl was plastic wrapped to contain any spillage. I would greatly have appreciated some vegetables in the soup rather than all broth with the suggestion of vegetables. whenever i go here im only consistently disappointed. dont know if its only this location but i used to love this place.. theyve progressively gone downhill. i order the same thing i always have and it used to be amazing, my favorite meal- the choose two with a four cheese griller and a bacon potato. i havent been here in months because i kept wasting money on disappointing food but decided to give it one more chance tonight. when i got my food the potato had a think film of burn cheese (like when you microwave cheese too long and it just hardens) with a few specs of bacon. the griller had only one cheese i could see AND taste (and since ive always gotten this i know how it tastes with all four cheeses) that had mostly shifted out of the side of the sandwich, leaving most of the sandwich to be only toasted bread. the only up side to this circumstance is that i never have to waste my money on this place or their terribly prepared food again. if you have never been here lucky you, try to keep it that way. read more

After my initial review, I was contacted by Amy D, with McAlister's, who apologized for my experience and promised to send out some meal vouchers. After a month, I never received the vouchers and fired off an updated review for the lack of follow through. Since that time, it has come to my attention that I provided Amy with the wrong address and she did send the meal vouchers as promised. Even though my initial experience was still unacceptable, I will have to say that Amy is a woman of her word and did everything in her power to make it right. My husband and I stopped for lunch at this McAlister's and we will not be returning. The food was fine, however the management and staff are lacking. They were unprofessional as well as unhelpful. Our table was dirty and an employee was standing in the middle of the aisle at the next table chatting it up with extended social conversation with some customers. I had to make my way around him because he really was in the middle of the aisle, I used my own sanitary wipes to clean the table and benches and when I mentioned that the employee was not being helping but rather standing around talking during a busy lunch hour, the manager did not seem very concerned. Once the employee went back behind the counter the two of them had a laugh. The manager told me he was not worried about the employee because he was talking to people who dined here frequently. Therefore I can assume they held importance over other diners and higher than sitting in a clean booth and at a clean table. I myself hold no important value to this man but I am a paying customer which I can only assume is not important. read more

The two Michaels (those are the managers) are the friendliest people around. They frequently will come around to make sure everyone is doing well and fix whatever problems you may have with the food. My family loves this place and my wallet does too, as the kids meals are only $.99 which is great for my family of 5. Wish there were more places like this, with the management staff that they have. This is my second time coming here and I'm not satisfied. The customer service is horrible , no one is attentive to the customers coming in no real customer service. Both times same actions, I'm the nicest person ever and this place just seems not so friendly. By the way my soup was horrible the person who packed my order didn't bother to ask if I wanted crackers. Management needs to step it up and also lead by example.( don't sit on the floor counting your inventory and not acknowledge and ensure I'm well taken care of.) Really disappointed in the service and food at McAlister's off 121 and Preston. I was so happy when a location opened up closer to my work, but I will NEVER go to this McAlister's again. The first time I went, the service was very slow and they put the wrong cheese on the sandwich. The second time that I ordered something from McAlister's it was delivery and instead or ranch on my salad, they put in blue cheese (I'm allergic to bleu cheese). The third and final time that I went to this location, the mac and cheese was very "soupy" and the staff was reluctant to comp my meal. NEVER AGAIN. Lost my business for sure. read more

The food is great for the price, cookies are excellent, and their tea is refreshing, but their excellent customer service has impressed me the most. I visited during lunch time and ordered a memphian with chips and free tea (free tea day!) to go. When I got back to my office, I noticed that the bag of chips I ordered was opened. I was not too upset about the opened bag of chips but was more curious to see how the situation would be handled. I called in, spoke to an employee, explained the situation, and was immediately put on brief hold to speak to the store manager. She was very sympathetic and understanding and let me know that she will talk to her team regarding the quality check of all components that go into a takeout bag. She thanked me for my feedback and asked for my address saying she'd send something in the mail. I received that something today and am very pleased with the overall handling of the small issue.
