It's 6.5 weeks later and no one gives a rat's ass, apparently. --------------------------- Hello, Dr. Matin. I just spoke with Tracy about the experience I had yesterday at the Sun City office. I first encountered Maribel, who was an absolute delight. I told her that I battle vertigo and that, as an example, I can't go back quickly in the chair or lay flat. We talked about why I was there--partly because a tooth (crown) broke off at the gum line, and mostly because I needed to establish a relationship with a dentist I trust and feel comfortable with. Every step of the way, she checked on me to make sure I was still feeling fine. Enter Dr. Chow--another delight! He detailed everything, offered step-by-step plans for how to tackle the many problems I have, and told me his philosophy about the procedures he would need to perform. We were nearly through the explanation of the plan when he was called to another patient's room and said he would be back. That was perfectly fine with me because I had a lot to absorb. That's when Ali came in. She introduced herself and then immediately asked how much I was willing to pay that day, and if I was able to "do $20,000"! I was shocked at the approach, and told her that we hadn't even finished discussing what all needed to be done. I told her my mom just passed away and I am overwhelmed with her debt (funeral, etc.), probate, and trying to get her house ready to sell. Most people at this point offer an "I'm sorry" (however perfunctory) but not Ali. She was right back on her used-car-sales approach. "Well, how much can you afford today? Are you ready to start the procedures now?" I said, "You're probably too young for the reference I'm about to give...." (I was going to say she sounded like a car dealer trying to sell me undercoating) when she abruptly left the room. I have no idea what I did to offend her so, but I kept waiting for my paperwork (I assumed she was working on it). She was on the computer and did not even acknowledge me as I walked into the waiting room. Finally, she printed and handed me a sheet which did not even cover all the necessary procedures. I needn't go into every boring detail of the encounter with her, but it was ice cold, far from professional, and unpleasant. Moments before, I was thrilled to have found a dentist I felt comfortable with, in an office close to my home, with a sweetheart tech who made sure I was not in any distress. What happened? I haven't the foggiest clue. I wanted you to know about this. Maybe Ali was having a rough day--we all do. But when you're encountering patients/customers/clients, you still need to maintain decorum. Hi my name is Kimberly Carpe. About 5 years ago I received my first dental implant from Mcall Dental. I had Dr. Matin and Dr Oh work on my mouth. I just want to leave a review I should have along time ago. They did a wonderful job and I get compliments by other dentist all the time saying they did a great job. Dr. Matin did my bone graft and started the implant and Dr Oh finished it. If I ever need to get cosmetic dental care done again I wouldn't go anywhere else but to them. Horrific experience going to this dental office! Office manager was deceitful from the get go! Led us to belief they accepted Medicaid. However, she stated the partials and graf was not covered and approved me via Care Credit within minutes. Down the road due to my loved one having 3 strokes, dentist decided to extract 7 teeth. We are being billed for 8 extractions! They did an evaluation on me at the tune of $493 but was told it was free as I have SCAN and it was covered! Then they proceeded with temporary partials for my LO. However, they started shrinking and causing him great discomfort. On their statement they are billing for permanent partials he NEVRR RECEIVED. We were also told that Medicaid would cover transportation as they were contracted with them! Contacted Medicaid and was told this office is not even on their list! Now, someone explain this bill? If I could give them a ZERO STAR that's what they would get! Contacted McCall Dental again today, 4/9/2026 regarding the payment they have received in FULL and they have not delivered the permanent partial! I was told that office manager wasn't in to discuss the status! This manager has not been available since August 2025! Have reported this practice to Dental Board for investigation and will be taking them to court. Further, they extricated 7 teeth all at once without my consent, which has caused severe anemia to my LO!!! He was on blood thinners and his primary had only approved one extraction at a time! I started seeing this dental office in 2024 only had cleanings check up and x-rays done. Not once did the front office ever say my insurance was not active or there was an issue with my insurance. Now Jan 2026 I'm told I've never had insurance and now they are trying to bill me for my past check-ups and cleanings! Dishonest dental office, the front office is rude will not recognize their mistake and threatened me with sending me to a collections agency. Filed a grievance with my insurance company, will also file a complaint with the BBB and the dental board of California. I'm so grateful I never had any dental work done here. As a new patient I was appalled upon my first visit. Staff and dentist are VERY friendly (almost unprofessionally so) until you question their practices. I was told before I even opened my mouth that I needed a deep cleaning. Also, as an experienced dental patient, their equipment is VERY outdated. Very Dishonest Dental, they did work and kept telling me what my insurance would cover. after questioning my insurance, the new lady Eli said that my insurance was not listed on my work plan. So how did Cindi the old office manager keep telling me what my insurance would pay. long story short after asking for an itemized receipt of what I should pay they wound up after several months of checking had to refund me 1,900 dollars. So, I say get an itemized receipt of all work done make sure they have your insurance listed, better yet find an Honest dentist that know what they are doing. I'm not even going to get into the upselling of everything, kept telling me I need all this other work and would not take care of the actual work they had listed but kept adding other charges for future work needed smh. I don't often take time out of my day to leave a review, let alone a negative one, but I felt it my obligation to warn people about how truly awful this practice is. If you value your time, don't go here, because they certainly don't value it. I went in for a simple cleaning. They took X-rays and left me in the chair for almost two hours. The hygienist finally came back to clean my teeth and spent a total of 5 minutes applying that polish stuff. I was told I had two cavities and they needed to schedule me to come back at a later date. A week before this date, they rescheduled my appointment. Twice! I ended up going to a different dentist and was told I didn't have any cavities at all. AND got a full cleaning. Very very unhappy! I went before Covid started on 1/16/20. Told I needed a crown plus other things done. Got the new crown and I went back 3 times because I knew something was off. Then Covid. Finally went to a different dentist and guess what? The X-ray showed a open pocket. So now I need to replace this crown. More MONEY and another injection which I HATE! Also, when I received my bill I called and asked if they submitted to my insurance. I was told that they would resubmit BUT, insurance would ONLY pay 2 or 3 dollars. Never heard back from them. I feel they should pay for my new crown. The new dentist submitted my bill to my insurance and OMG what a saving! Sorry I have nothing good to say about this dentist office. Went to this office for a simple check up. I found this place very unprofessional. Horrible customer service, outdated equipment, and the x rays that were taken was not pleasant. The doctor was not even focused on what he was doing half the time and he had no patience. He looked very distracted and not confident in what he was doing. He didn't know how to deal with patients that have anxiety. My anxiety went up so high that I just left without getting my cleaning done. I do not trust this place. This place is not worth it. Office manager never returns calls. Staff not familiar with patient treatment cost if she not there ( no cross training). Communication needs work, receptionist lied and stated treatment plan mail to insurance company for out of pocket cost. I contact Insurance company, rep stated no record of mailed request and call office while on hold and told they forgot to send. How do you forget to send a patient treatment plan? Update: called them to fax over my records to my new dentist. They never did and pretty sure they don't intend to. Smh ‍ not professional at all. Previous: Horrible. I scheduled an appointment for my son and I, only to have someone call me and say they had to reschedule. Whatever it happens right, but then they didn't have the updated schedule available so they said they'd call me back. A week went by I called and left a voice mail, another week went by, I left a second voicemail. No call back. Finally I get someone on the phone and I had to schedule both on different days. A little inconvenient but ok. I wish I could give a better review since they were great with my son but unfortunately their scheduling errors are way too much. I had to schedule two more appointments for myself and I clearly told the receptionist in the front I'm only off Wednesday's and Fridays so she said ok same time ? And we agreed. I called a day before my appointment to confirm and she told me I scheduled it for Monday! Why would I schedule something on a day I work ?? So I asked about my Friday one, Then with attitude she says they're closed Friday. No idea why she would even tell me to come that day then. She also mentioned to me that she wouldn't schedule someone without giving them an appointment card. Lmao!!! My first two appointments were made over the phone (no appointment card) and the one for "Monday " no appointment card. These establishments usually call the previous business day to confirm, why didn't I get a call then. They itemize for items not covered under your health insurance, but do not explain that to you. They refused to send my treatment plan to Delta Dental, for a review. The staff at McCall is warm and professional. And I have been receiving dental work stretching back 3+ years now. I was recently impressed when undergoing a root canal and crown placement by Dentist Dr. Abbott. This was a particularly tricky job, because my tooth nerves were thin, the roots were deep and my upper ligaments were inflamed and extremely painful. In the past, I might seek out an endo-specialist for this type of job. Despite the difficulty, Dr. Abbott exercised skilled precision while verbally advising me each step of the way. The result: my whole experience felt careful, controlled, and informed. I'm now pain free and back to devouring apples and corn on the cob with aplomb! read more

I moved away from the area, and I have had nothing but bad luck with other offices. I was not treated right, my concerns were never addressed and I was not treated like a patient. I only give one star because I cannot give zero. I get their ad in the mail constantly. We needed cleanings, so every time I got their ad, like WEEKLY, I called the number on the ad, and no one answered. It didn't matter what time of day or night, or what day of the week- no answer. I left a message EVERY time, with never a returned call. I have no idea why I kept trying. Then the last time I tried, a lady answered (in the middle of a weekday), said she was on her cell phone driving, and would call me back. That never happened.
