The VA referred me to Sun City Dentistry, but after my experience, I would strongly recommend veterans ask to be sent somewhere else. My treatment for a crown turned into 5-6 appointments because the crown repeatedly came back from the lab without fitting properly. It was even permanently cemented once, only to be removed the same day because it didn't fit correctly. Every visit meant removing the temporary crown, numbing my extremely sensitive tooth, and starting over. After months of this, I lost confidence in the quality of care and chose to have the work completed elsewhere. When I later returned through the VA for a completely different issue, a receding gum, I was surprised by how I was treated. Instead of addressing the reason for my visit, the dentist became visibly upset that I had my crown work completed by another provider. She spoke to me in a way that felt more like I was being scolded than treated as a patient, because I went somewhere else. She refused to examine or treat the issue I came in for and told me she wouldn't touch my teeth because another dentist had completed the work. I also asked if she would communicate with the dentist who completed my treatment so they could compare records or discuss any concerns. She refused, and the front desk was no help in trying to resolve the situation. To make matters worse, it took nearly an hour just to complete my X-rays during that visit, and the images weren't very clear. I later had new X-rays taken by the dentist who completed my treatment, and they confirmed my teeth were fine. The only issue was the receding gum I originally came in to have evaluated. I also experienced problems when I needed emergency root canals. I was told I had to wait weeks for VA approval, but the VA dentists at Loma Linda later informed me that emergency treatment could have been provided first and billed to the VA afterward. That misinformation left me in unnecessary pain. I was always patient and respectful throughout my treatment. My experience with the office changed after I sought treatment from another dentist. When I returned for an unrelated issue, I felt I was treated differently because I had gone elsewhere to complete my dental work. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this office, especially to fellow veterans who rely on VA referrals. read more

Ive came here for years, but in my opinion they lost all the good dentist. The staff is nice and all, but the work is not the greatest. I was told by one dentist I had a cavity in every tooth (I only had a few), another told me I needed 5 crowns and root canals (which I didnt), then ive received a filling so high I had to go back more than 5 times to keep getting it filed down, ive had the wrong side numbed, my lip sliced, and even the wrong tooth filled. Before the fillings and work was flawless, now whenever my teeth hurt I wonder if I should even bother going in because theres a chance ill come out worse.... Watch out!!!! My wife was asked to select a payment plan, prior to seeing all of the finance charge's so after they up sell you for extra x rays etc , they said that we were emailed the contract. So let me get this straight you agree to a finance and provide a down payment After this you get an email from the finance company. Which we did a search and never found. We were hit with a 29.99% and a 31% interest rate. With no knowledge. So our finance fee fees were likely to exceed $2000 for a $3500 bill. Both my wife and I have extremely good credit and money in the bank. It was disclosed to us that the dentist got a kickback of $635 for referring sunbit finance. I also went there right after my wife. It was the worst experience I've ever encountered. When you have pain in a tooth and the dentist tells you there's nothing wrong. I was in the office yesterday, Had to have a tooth pulled that was part of a large bridge that I have had for a long time, I waited way too long to have this done, but they were able to section off the bad tooth and pull it out without disturbing the rest of the bridge. Nice staff but horrible Dentist, I came here with no issues only to get a routine check up, ended up needing several fillings, on the first appointment she hurt my jaw, had me with my mouth open for long time no breaks in between while they were trying to fix their machine, idk how but I never had issues with my jaw and I've had dental work done before at a different place, also she left the tooth she worked on in pain for several weeks and up until now she doesn't know why it still hurts when it wasn't hurting before she started working on it. Now She says my jaw issue is TMJ which she Didn't even explained to me what TMJ is, I've never had issues with my jaw in the past, my back teeth still hurting and now I'm stuck with having to do physical therapy for my jaw before I get my fillings done. Will never come back to this place and no I do not recommend this place, at least not with her. read more

Terrible! My mom came here for dentures because she's on Medi-Cal. She got dentures that never fit. They never stayed in her mouth no matter how many times they adjusted them. They refused to fix them saying that if they were to do anything else to them that it was going to cost her more money. They should've offered to start the process over and give her a pair that fit and stayed in her mouth so she can actually eat. You should have some sort of sympathy for elderly people that struggle financially that come to you because you say you can help! read more

I just so happened to be walking past this business and, needing dental work, entered. The ladies at the front desk were so warm and friendly you couldn't help but like them. I made an appointment and a short time later I was in the chair in front of Monica C. Lehnhof, DDS. She made me feel very relaxed, she was kind, jovial and very professional. Three strikes you're out. Horrible crown experience... literally the worst. The pictures don't lie. LOOK at that giant gap between the molars, in the back, where FOOD is getting compacted into my gums every time I eat. The gap is so large, I can fit my entire fingernail into the space! The crown doesn't even come down to my gum line. It's over sized, ill fitted, painful and horrible. It's a brand new crown. I paid over $750! Put in my mouth by Sun City Dentistry only two weeks ago. It's been a nightmare. After refusing to take responsibility for what they failed to deliver... a normal crown for a molar... I am hiring an attorney to get my money back. I just wasted over $750 for nothing but a huge, ugly, shaved down in the back, gap created between the molars, ill fitted crown... that's left me with food painfully compacting between my molars every time I eat. Went back for 3rd and final time today... hoping they'd do the right thing after TWO failed attempts at a simple crown for one molar. Nope. In an attempt to steal my money... They are now blaming their BAD workmanship on "a bone needing to be built up under the tooth." LOL! What? Yes! This new dentist that I've never seen before at Sun City Dentistry, told me today that "It's not the crown. The crown... (with a giant gap in the back...lol) is great!" (What a lie!) It's the fact that I now need to go see a specialist and have the bone built back up, under the crown! Huh? Wait a minute... you mean they put not one but TWO bad crowns in your mouth, then told you that you need to see a specialist? Yes! I've only had the new crown for two weeks and this is what Sun City Dentistry is telling me to avoid paying me back my money! If this is the problem as they explained, why did Sun City Dental put not one by TWO bad crowns in my mouth? Sorry. I've had a couple crowns in my life. I am old enough to know all the "tricks" dentists try to use to get out of taking responsibility for bad workmanship. Or, just because they're cheap and lazy and don't want to make something right. (While they help their "specialist friends" get rich doing unneeded mouth surgeries! Fact- The bone under my tooth doesn't need to be built up. 100% sure of that. I just need a good crown that fits properly over my tooth. That's it! What did I get for over $750 at Sun City Dentistry? Horrible workmanship and a second completely ill-fitted crown. Find someone else in your insurance carrier's book fast. Worst experience ever. What happened? They were in my insurance book of providers... so, needing a simple crown and wanting to save a little money... I decided to try them out. What's the saying? You get what you pay for? In my attempt to save a couple hundred dollars... I received the worst crown I've ever had in my life! First epic fail? The dentist took the impression for the first crown BEFORE she built up the tooth. So, when the crown came in? It literally didn't fit. Duh. Understanding she made a mistake shew decided to take an impression for another crown... and after I kept the ugly looking, huge crown, which only stayed cemented on for less than a day. (I promise I will post pictures soon, so you can see how horrible the dental work is.) Second attempt at a crown? Correct impression taken this time. Crown comes back and is still over-sized. Looks like a dinosaur tooth in my mouth. Um... what sort of lab is this place using? Some low budget lab in Mexico??? But, for as big and ugly as it was... it did fit into place. The dentist decided it was "too tight in the back." So, she popped it out of my mouth and proceeded to shave the crown down. Claiming it now looked "perfect" she cemented it back into my mouth. Well... She shaved it down too much! Which I could NOT physically figure out till I got home and tried to eat my first meal. Food immediately and painfully got compacted in the large gap she created, by shaving down the crown- between my molars! The gap is so big, I can out my whole fingernail into it! If a fingernail can fit into that open slot, imagine how much compacted, chewed up food can get down there? So, I will update soon. I will get my money back. This was a complete waste of money and time. No, I don't need surgery to "rebuild the bone" under my tooth. LOL. It's just another way these rip off dentists try to make more money. Doesn't even deserve one star!! Said my son had 12 cavities. One root canal and had to pay 1200.00. Went to a new dentist and he doesn't have 12 cavities or a root canal. At new dentist he has only 2 cavities and needs his wisdom teeth pulled and no cost insurance pays all. Bad business should be shut down. Still waiting to get money back from paying up front . Had my bottom teeth pulled for dentures in March 2023. I got dentures the same day, which we're ill fitting. They caused a lesion on my gums that I later had to have a biopsy on in case of a real problem. I also have a scar on my inside cheek from them. I was in a number times complaining. I was told that these dentures were temporary to let my gums heal and that after 6 months I would get permanent ones. September came, went in for the new ones, they took impressions, left my temporary ones, to pick up the next day. I picked up the dentures and they were the same ill fitting ones, just what they called relined! I told them it was unacceptable and was told that was all they could do for me, I was referred to another dentist who they said would not take my insurance. Stay away!!!! read more

Having already gone to two other places that I didn't feel comfortable with I just so happened to find this hidden gem when I went to another medical office within the same building. From the moment that I walked in I was treated with the highest regard. I needed some work done and went back the following week. The Dr. that I seen told me don't worry my nick name is Dr. Angel and you'll be in good hands. Trust me when I say my procedure was as painless as can be. With all that I had done I truly didn't feel anything. The Dr. made sure that I was completely numb and extremely gentle. Took my mom for a checkup. Even with her good dental coverage, her evaluation quoted her to pay nearly 1200.00. My mom is 79, when I called and asked for details, I was given the run around so I called my mom's plan administrator who asked for the number of this dentist then put me on told via a three way call. After holding for 30 minutes, the insurance advised me to seek another provider as they were clearly over charging and charging for covered procedures. Advisor also provided a number to file a grievance which I will do. This is a senior community and if they tried this on my mom they must be robbing those unable to defend themselves. read more

Awful experiences. Dentures that 5 teeth came off in several weeks after. Wanted to charge $358 for adjustments to correct this , should have not even charged anything , when you pay for something and it is not right and it's NEW, it should be corrected as you paid for it once so why would a Dentist charge for something that should be of better quality to begin with. I made a HUGE Mistake going here and expected my new bottom Dentures to be made a little better. I certainly would not recommend this place to anyone. I had a dental cleaning and they took a long time trying to figure out my insurance coverage. They came back indicating I needed a deep cleaning and that I had to pay out of pocket. I overheard a consult with another patient and they wanted to extract 5-6 teeth. I can hear them pressuring her that they would not be able to release the xrays for other doctors. WTF never again will I go. I gave another patient a recommendation to Golden Age Dentistry for low income elderly patients. This doctor wants to MILK you for your money.... After calling myself they advise me to go elsewhere she was out to make the office money. She did not even send in the X-rays or the authorization form for the insurance company to approve or deny. They put me on antibiotics and later I had the root-canal. Now I am pain free! The dentist and dental assistants are all so sweet! Oh yeah, final total cost for tooth extraction $1000/tooth. But that included Tax, License and Registration. Oh, I forgot, I wasn't buying a car. No wonder she doesn't want to talk about it until you are reclined in the chair with your mouth open. Or for that matter, why the patient in the next cubicle was crying. At least with that patient, the dentist said she would drop some of the charges. (Is that even legal?) However, she must be very competent because she was able to a complete cleaning (planing) of the upper mouth in less than 10 minutes. DENTAL HYGIENIST. WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING DENTAL HYGIENIST. Now let me see. $300/5-10 minutes. That may be better than trying to win the lottery. It is enough for her to live in a house across the mountains near the ocean. For those prices, I can see why she is in such a hurry to move on the next patsy (oops), patient/procedure. Because when I voiced a concern, she quickly replied with the standard: "Don't Worry, I'll take care of it." However, she charged for a procedure but failed to take care of it. When I had a follow-up question, she answered with a reply that didn't even may sense physiologically. Apparently, she relies on the stupidity (oops), kindness of strangers. I had trouble with a few teeth. I needed an extraction, a root canal an a bridge. I moved down here from Canyon Crest and need to find a dentist here, I found Dr. Dang at Sun City dentistry, he is an angel he's so gentle, I don't mind going to the dentist anymore I regret seeing a specialist for my first root canal, I thought I had to see a specialist before Dr. Dang put my bridge on, that's why I went to see the specialist. The specialist tore my gum up & said rinse with warm water & it will heal, however, she did not tell me I would still have an issue after 5 month, I needed another root canal & Dr. Dang preformed this one, he was awesome. Now the on going pain I have is still from the "specialist" cutting my gums up. I wish now I would have used Dr. Dang he is awesome and so gentle, the staff are very friendly you will love them all! read more

Today I was attempting to help a senior patient trying to get information and x-rays transferred to our office per patient request. Sadly, I was unsuccessful. Liz, the staff member who assisted my call was very demeaning to me and unwilling to help out a senior on a fixed income (basically she hung up on me). I have been going to Sun City Dentistry for the past couple of years. They had a habit of trying to get me to do a bunch of dental work at the end of each of my check ups that were costly and that I didn't want done. But I continued to go there because the dentist was always nice to my four and six year old. But that ended today. I called to schedule our checkups and mentioned that I didn't want x-rays done on my kids because they just had them done six months ago. Lindsey, the girl I spoke to, told me that it was required by our insurance company. I offered to call my insurance company and she told me that if I got their approval that would be fine and to just let them know. I called my insurance company and they informed me that they DO NOT require x-rays for just a checkup and cleaning. When I called back I spoke to Liz. I told her that the insurance company didn't require the x-rays. She replied, "Well, the dentist can talk to you about that when you come in." I explained that I didn't want to waste my time coming into their office if they were going to try and force x-rays that I didn't want done. She answered, "Well, then this isn't the dentist office for you." I absolutely agreed and hung up. I will be warning every parent I know about Sun City Dentistry. It is my opinion that they are more concerned about lining their pockets than retaining happy customers. read more
