Went for my first appointment, I've been bouncing around from dentist office to dentist office running into similar problems. Crazy long wait times when you have an appointment, getting charged for things that were not explained, and a general lack of communication. I am so glad I found Powers. I showed up 15 minutes early and they were ready and waiting for me. Even before I was taken back they explained to me exactly what was going to happen in the appointment and showed me the price. It was very clear what was covered by insurance and what was not. The part that was not covered I had the option to take off. That alone made me feel much more secure, especially coming from dentist offices, where I was constantly asking myself, am I getting scammed? The hygienist was very good at her job and the doctor was very clear in her communication and helpful. I have two wisdom teeth that still need to come out and even though they are not causing me any pain and getting them removed is not urgent, she still gave me a referral sheet where I could get all the information I need from the oral surgeons listed. The office is new, clean and really had a nice warm vibe to it. Unfortunately, I won't be returning to this clinic. The hygienist and front desk staff are wonderful, but I was not satisfied with Dr. Powers' work on my fillings. He seemed unsure, rushed, and overly negatively chatty during the procedure. I had to return because I couldn't fully close my mouth due to an improper filling. Additionally, the filling was smoothed out without matching the natural texture of my tooth. It now feels like a tic tac mint as a tooth. A few months later, the same area became very sensitive and painful to chew food. read more

It's been a touch and go relationship with them over the past few months. At first it was highly negative saying they were having problems with my insurance, it was a super weird unpleasant experience, and it was very upsetting how I was treated. the problem got partially remedied and I switched insurances after I got dentures. I changed to a better insurance. Today I called because I need a denture lower replaced, they said they would need to get a pre-authorization that would take a few weeks. I said ok. Several hours later THEY TEXT ME saying that they no longer see denture patients because they are too busy. They instead have me a number to a different dentist a few towns away and told me to try him. This was the same snotty attitude I received from then to begin with a few months ago, but I needed just dentures repaired. I feel like these guys don't care if they treat you poorly, they don't want to deal with Medicare advantage plans, either has. CASH or TOP TIER insurance otherwise they turn their nose up at you. Wow, not cool! That's the impression I've gleaned from the initial and this last experience. In the middle, it was "okay" Maybe you'll have a better experience with them, but my experience with them has been less than stellar. I guess they don't plan on handling the dentures that they made for me a few months ago. So much for follow up care! Uggh, why must it be hard to deal with them? Why do they have to act this way? Aesthetically, beautiful office! Very modern equipment! But it's very clear they have a "class of patients" they prefer to cater to a higher class of people. I feel like they seem to have a knack for making you feel like You're bothering them. Ok then, I understand. Sorry that I've had the nerve to ask for follow up care. My hubby got X-rays. The full cleaning was not covered. They were nice but we couldn't afford the deep cleaning. The X-rays took very long. He has a PPO dental. We found my former dental office could do the deep cleaning in San Diego for a better price. I was hopeful to stay in the area I reside which is mostly all seniors. Sadly I have to drive to Rancho Bernardo because Menifee was surprisingly more closely. 540.00 vs 340.00 So we will be doing the drive. I first visited Powers dentistry for a mini-implant. Dr. Powers is a very personable guy and easy to talk to. The implant he did for me was the easiest I've ever had, and I've had several. No pain or swelling. From start to finish in the matter of a month. I was impressed. His staff is very professional and friendly. They take insurance and do the billing for you. Since that implant last year I've had to see him again for an infected molar which he extracted the other day with no complications. No need to go to a dental surgeon for the procedure. This is by far the best dentist I've ever been to. I know, I'm only 25, but everyone here is so welcoming, honest, and don't shame you for your past habits. I've never felt more comfortable with a team of receptionists, hygienists, and dentists. They're also incredibly flexible and accommodating whether you have a busy schedule or have dental anxiety (like me!) Even when Dr Powers was out, the hygienist made a note for him to review my x-rays once he returned back to the office. I read reviews on this guy, and would have really liked to get implants. However, I am in my late 70"s and the very polite person behind the desk, when I arrived for my first appt., handed me a tiny pad and told me to read everything and sign. The print was so very small.....and the screens would not move forward. The receptionist offered to have me tell her the answers to the questions on the pad and she would put them in. PROBLEM is that she wanted me to give her the information about personal health issues and medicines I take in front of a crowd of patients. This is not only uncomfortable, it breaks every hippa law on the books. So, unless you are a lot younger, don't go there. ADDITIONALLY, she offered no way to do this other than the pad. She was nice.,..but really terrible customer service....in that she told me it is either this way or I can take a hike. I TOOK A HIKE. read more

Dr. Powers' team took me in ASAP and helped me figure out my insurance situation and got me a same day appointment. So great saw my little 2.5 year old for his pain in his teeth when others were delaying his care (whole nother topic) good thing he did cause he got us a referral to baker pediatric dental and they found a slu of cavities on my poor little guy most likely because his treatment was delayed 2.5 months!
