Dr. McCan came highly recommended from a friend of mine. I called ahead to ask if an appointment was needed. Unlike other places in town, doctor himself answered the phone and asked that we come in as soon as possible and no appointment was necessary. My partner has been suffering from sciatica flare-ups and has been in pain stemming from an old injury. We came in on 12/22 for his first adjustment. Doctor recommended he also wear the BaxMax back brace to relieve tension during the day while working. He followed up a visit on 12/24 and he really did walk and stand a lot better from just the initial visit. Dr. McCan's office was also open during Christmas Eve up until 1:30 pm. I messed up my back on Sunday night and was experiencing sharp, shooting pain that made it extremely difficult to walk. I called their office on Monday (a holiday, expecting them to be closed) and was surprised they were open and took walk-ins only. I don't know why I decided to wait an additional day before coming in because when I went on Tuesday, Dr. McCann adjusted me and the pain went away immediately. I appreciated his level of communication throughout the visit, and I felt very welcomed. He told me to return today and I am still amazed with how great I feel! I have been coming here for chiropractic adjustments for years and years. Dr. Lorne McCan is a wonderfully gentle and patient man who really cares about his patients. His business theory, as I understand it, is very simply this: He offers a simple chiropractic adjustment at a low price. He has chosen not to deal with insurance companies to keep his costs down (and he passes these savings along to you) though he is willing to print receipts that you can use to get reimbursed by your insurance company. There are no appointments necessary, but there never seems to be too long a wait to see him. He is not cleaning anything in between patients. Sure there's the thin paper covering on the bench but what about the arm rests you grab when the bench is being lowered? Or the headrest sides where people breathe on? For the longest time I could look past all the religious stuff but now there are faith healing videos playing in the lobby!?!
