Deep scratches on my WeatherTech hood protector.

I leased my 2025 Toyota RAV4 from McCord's Vancouver Toyota in the fall of 2025. While this is my first vehicle from Vancouver Toyota, my family has owned roughly a dozen Toyotas over the years. I brought my vehicle in on June 15, 2026, for an oil change and tire rotation. After returning home, I checked the oil level and found it approximately half an inch above the maximum fill mark on the dipstick (about half a quart overfilled). While I was not initially upset, I wanted the issue corrected because overfilled engine oil can cause damage, as stated in the owner's manual. I contacted the dealership and returned for a follow-up appointment. I politely explained the situation to my service advisor, Kevin, and requested that the excess oil be drained. After inspecting the vehicle, the technicians advised that the oil level was acceptable and suggested waiting 15 seconds after shutting off the engine before checking the dipstick for a more accurate reading. No oil was removed during my second visit despite my request, and I drove home thinking I hadn't checked the dipstick correctly. I followed their instructions and rechecked the oil the next day. The level remained in the same spot, approximately half an inch above the maximum fill mark on the dipstick. I called the dealership again and respectfully requested another appointment to correct the issue on the morning of June 17. At approximately 7:30 AM, Kevin personally checked the dipstick with me and agreed that the oil level was above the maximum fill mark. Kevin informed me that nobody could "touch my car until a manager came on duty at 9 AM." I told Kevin that I did not need to see a manager and that I simply needed the excess oil drained so I could be on my way. Kevin insisted that we wait for a manager, so I waited. After Kevin obtained management approval, the dealership agreed to remove the excess oil. After the excess oil was drained, Kevin and I walked out to my vehicle, which was parked in the ready area. We discovered a large amount of fresh phlegm, mucus, and saliva on the driver's side door and window. The substance appeared fresh and was actively running down the paint rather than dried onto the surface. Patrick Bussard was the assigned technician and the employee who parked my vehicle immediately before Kevin and I returned to it. I immediately photographed the substance with Kevin present, and he can verify that we discovered it together when we returned to the vehicle. I asked to speak with a manager and was assisted by Kristine Bridger, who provided my information to Lori Bonner, the customer service manager. Lori Bonner later informed me by telephone that the substance had been determined to be accidental. Based on the circumstances, I disagree with that conclusion. Despite being patient and respectful throughout every interaction, I am deeply troubled by what occurred. The timing of these events raises serious concerns regarding how my request was handled. Additionally, my brand-new WeatherTech hood protector, which was scratch-free prior to my third visit, now has deep scratches that were not present before the vehicle was returned to me. My original concern was a simple request to have my vehicle serviced to Toyota's specified oil level. Instead, it took multiple visits before the issue was acknowledged and corrected. During that process, bodily fluids were found on my vehicle, and my hood protector was returned with significant scratches. Finding bodily fluids on my vehicle and discovering damage to an accessory that had previously been in excellent condition turned an already frustrating experience into an extremely upsetting one. I have always associated Toyota ownership with professionalism and quality service. This experience has left me deeply disappointed, angry, and concerned about allowing others to service my vehicle in the future. I regret leasing my RAV4 from McCord's Vancouver Toyota, and I am now exploring my options for ending the lease.

One generally dreads car shopping - which might be part of the reason I've had the same car for 13…read moreyears - but after evacuating from the recent forest fires in OR through dense smoke in my old car, I decided it might be a good idea to have a reliable one instead. I searched online and found the used car I wanted, and it seemed to be at a reasonable price point here at Alan Webb, so I made an appt. and drove up. This was probably one of the easiest sales transactions ever. I worked with Ryan, who was great, very friendly and personable, as was Justin, the finance guy. They didn't haggle, I didn't haggle, it all took a reasonable amount of time, and all in all I'm pretty pleased. No one here fit the stereotype of the "used car salesman," so I'd say if you find the car here that you want, go for it.

Two very big issues…read more First, I took a family member to Alan Webb Mazda for an after-hours vehicle service drop-off and I was extremely disappointed to see Alan Webb Mazda parks their new cars in the handicapped access way adjacent to the handicapped space. This would completely block disabled folks in wheelchairs from exiting their car. What a shame. Second, and to make matters worse, we actually weren't able to leave the dealership after completing the vehicle drop off because somebody had locked the gates behind us, barring us from driving away from the dealership property. I can't find any information on their website that says vehicles must be dropped off by a certain time. Luckily, I got ahold of a janitor who was able to unlock the gates for me. Before I wrote this review, I called Alan Webb Mazda and spoke to a woman in the service department about the locked gate issue. Unfortunately I didn't think to ask for her name, but she replied by saying "I tell my customers verbally about dropping cars off before 7pm, is there anything else I can help you with?" Not even a quick apology for the mix-up. My verbal request to add that information to the website was also ignored. At the time of writing this review, Alan Webb Mazda is averaging 2.9 stars on Yelp. No wonder! Horrible customer service.

Most of the damage to the vehicle I purchased happened at Carmax while it was being processed…read more I had an SUV shipped from a Carmax in Colorado to this facility. It had a few very minor scratches that were documented. I inspected the car first thing and it looked good and I asked to take it out for a drive and we began some paperwork to make it happen. The salesperson pulled the SUV into a receiving area for my test drive. While getting in, I noticed multiple vertical deep scratches on the driver's side door I hadn't noticed when I did my preliminary walkaround inspection just 20 minutes earlier. They were actually more serious than any of the minor documented scratches disclosed when the vehicle was shipped so I didn't understand how they could have been missed. I mentioned it to the sales rep upon return and was promptly dismissed. He didn't seem concerned at all and urgently ran off to return the car to the secure lot. Maybe they became more noticeable from the different lighting and direct sunlight. He mentioned later that he had trouble putting the lockbox back on the window because it kept rolling back down while he was trying to resecure it in the full up position. The plastic wind guard trim didn't help, Im sure. Apparently the car was detecting the lockbox as an obstruction as if there was a finger in the way triggering it to fully retract as a safety feature automatically, taking the lockbox down with it. I didn't think much about his comment at first, but put it all together after the fact. When the window was rolled down, the heavy lockbox Carmax struggled to hang on the window glass scratched the door...multiple times as they were fussing with it. The scratches are vertically aligned and exactly below where the lockbox was. Most scratches are horizontal, so these were odd looking. They weren't disclosed in the car listing because the car was most likely damaged in the care of Carmax after I paid to have it shipped. Since I am already into the car for shipping costs, no matter what I do, even if I return it, I'm out at least the $800 I sunk in shipping. So even walking away would be really expensive. The 2023 SUV only had 5K miles on it. Now I own it, and it looks like hell. I'm actually ill over this for not being more assertive. They ruined a really great SUV and stuck me with their sloppy damage and negligence. It looks like it was aggressively keyed. What I ordered and shipped, wasn't what I got. Now I get to drive it around, potentially for years, looking like someone who gets their car keyed. BUYER BEWARE. Don't give Carmax ANY money in advance. Don't have a car shipped. Just wait for the right one to pop up locally. Before you drive away, do a final inspection and match up any damage with what was originally disclosed.
