I'm a Landry's Select Club member, so I had my annual $25 birthday reward to use toward dinner. In case you are interested, the membership is currently a one-time $25 fee with no annual fee. You get a $25 welcome reward when you join, another $25 reward every year during your birthday month, and earn additional rewards as you dine at participating Landry's restaurants which includes: McCormick & Schmick's, Morton's The Steakhouse, Chart House, Del Frisco's Grille, The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Saltgrass Steak House, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Joe's Crab Shack, Rainforest Cafe, Claim Jumper, Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse, and Landry's Seafood House. For dinner, I went with the steak and shrimp combo and paired it with an Old Fashioned. Hard to go wrong with that combination! The steak and shrimp made for a satisfying birthday dinner, and the Old Fashioned was the perfect way to round it out. Definitely a nice spot to treat yourself for a birthday or special occasion, and if you're going to visit Landry's restaurants, the Select Club membership is worth considering. I'll get right to it: this will be the last place I go for a family birthday celebration. The one star is for the cook, who is clearly talented. We had a 6:00 p.m. reservation for six people, and we didn't finish dinner until 9:00 p.m. A lot of that had to do with the service, not our server himself, because he was fabulous! There was simply no way he could be attentive to us when there were too many guests for the amount of staff working in the restaurant. I also have to add that the restaurant was very warm and uncomfortable. I only had one drink, and my daughter had two. It took about half an hour for her to get her second drink, so I didn't even want to order another one. By the time our server came over, took the order, and we actually received our drinks, the wait was ridiculous. My daughter has Down syndrome, and we ordered lemonade for her without ice. When we asked for a refill, our server made a point of letting us know it would be another $3, which was fine with us. About half an hour later, he came back and told us they were squeezing the lemons so it would be fresh. I honestly wasn't sure if that was a joke or if he was trying to buy some time. At that point, I was already nervous about ordering dessert because we were celebrating a birthday, and I knew it would probably take another 45 minutes to an hour just to get someone over to take our order and bring it out. I ordered a cappuccino and specifically asked for it extra hot, hoping I could enjoy it with my dessert. By the time dessert arrived, my cappuccino was already cold. There was NO way I was going to send it back to be reheated because I was sure that would add another half hour to our evening. Since the restaurant is located at the GardenWalk, I believe you receive three hours of free parking with validation. Believe me, with the service being this slow, you're still going to end up paying for parking! This used to be my go to place for a good steak, which is exactly why we chose McCormick & Schmick's for Rina's 74th birthday. She wanted a good steak and a comfortable, enjoyable birthday dinner. She definitely got a good steak, but unfortunately, the evening was definitely not comfortable or particularly pleasant. I do want to give another star to the gentleman who hosts at the front. He is always pleasant, warm, and accommodating, and it's nice to see a familiar face. He initially seated us near the main dining area, and I immediately asked if we could please move toward the back because the area near the bar is extremely loud. The music really doesn't fit the ambience of the dining room, in my opinion. He graciously accommodated us and moved us farther back, where it was a little more peaceful. There weren't too many people in the restaurant when we arrived at 6:00, so it was comfortable at first. Once 6:30 and 7:00 came around, the restaurant filled up and became very warm. My entire family was uncomfortable. My husband wore a long sleeved shirt and jacket because he wanted to dress up a little for the birthday dinner, and he was miserable. There were still plenty of open tables throughout the restaurant, but I honestly can't imagine how the staff could have handled many more guests. To the manager: I think the solution is actually pretty simple. Add more staff. You cannot operate a restaurant at this price point where a server is so overwhelmed that he can't come back to check on his guests, refill drinks, or see whether they need anything. For what customers are paying at your restaurant, that is simply unacceptable. I wanted to be honest in my review because I don't feel that Rina's 74th birthday dinner was the pleasant experience we had hoped for. Fortunately, my three kids enjoyed reminiscing and laughing with Rina about their childhood years, which was probably the best part of our 3- hour dinner. read more

I got the pan seared ono ($44) and various appetizers. The calamari were very delicious, they weren't those cheap frozen ones you get at the store. The pan seared ono was very fresh and tasted great with the risotto. However seasoning on fish was just underseasoned. Staff were friendly. The only other critique was the spacing between tables, it was definitely tight to get out off. (Had to ask the other table to scoot in to get out). We had a great Father's Day dinner here. The restaurant has a really nice ambiance with a mix of upscale but still comfortable. The service was friendly and attentive. We ordered Korean BBQ chicken appetizer, and it was a tasty. The chicken was extra crispy, and the sauce had a delicious sweet and spicy kick that paired perfectly with it. For our entrées, my husband ordered the Bourbon NY Strip. The steak was incredibly tender and full of flavor. It was cooked a little more rare than he had requested, but honestly, it was so good that he didn't even want to send it back. He also added a lobster tail, which was just was tasty. I had the chef's special stuffed salmon, and it was delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had lots of flavor. The stuffing complemented the salmon really well, and the mashed potatoes were creamy. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails, which were well made and a great addition to the meal. This was our first time here and we were so impressed by their Caymus wine dinner event! The chef created a wonderful menu that really was accentuated well by the great Napa wines. I loved the ahi tuna and the swordfish dishes. The event was in a private room which allowed for great conversation. I have always been a fan of McCormick & Schmick's. There used to be a location in Burbank, but this is the only one left in SoCal. Time was short, so I just came in for a quick meal. I started off with a nice cold Martini and a couple of Spicy Asian Shrimp Tacos with Asian slaw, kimchi aioli. This was a great appetizer, perfect for sharing, but more than enough for one, if you are hungry. I also had the Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass, with Miso Ponzu Broth, Stir Fry Vegetables and Udon Noodles. The fish was nicely cooked and the glaze was not too thick. For my birthday, I picked McCormick & Schmick's. Consequently Diane, my daughter, and granddaughter shared a very good, meaty and slightly sweet Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail. As my granddaugher said, it was my birthday, therefore I got the fifth shrimp. At first I resisted, but pretty quickly grabbed the last crustacean after all. I also enjoyed a second appetizer of Pepper Seared Ahi Tuna with Avocado Aioli and Pickled Lipstick Peppers. Next up for me was a hot Bowl of complex New England Clam Chowder accompanied by Oyster Crackers, and a Salad of Candied Walnuts and Mixed Greens that arrived a long time after my soup course. My entree of simply grilled Mahi Mahi with Roasted Potatoes, Cipollini Onions, and Brussel Sprouts was well prepared and enjoyable to eat. Complimentary Bread and Butter just added to the enjoyment of our meal. Meanwhiile, Diane liked her Buttermilk Fried Shrimp, and the two others in my party enjoyed a Center Cut Ribeye and Waygu Steak Frites, both with added Truffle Butter. I was presented with a Creme Brulee as a birthday dessert, to which I added a slice of decadent flourless Chocolate Truffle Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream. They were both praiseworthy desserts. Service by Llamas was mostly very good, but there were times when we wanted to ask him for more bread or Iced Tea when he was elsewhere. Eventually we received all items we wanted, and all was well. We started off with some warm, complimentary bread and butter. I also ordered an Arnold Palmer; they know how to make a quintessential one here. For my lunch, I opted for the fish and chips. The Fish and Chips plate consisted of three plump pieces of Alaskan Cod on top of a bed of thin fries. There is no better choice for fish and chips than Alaskan cod. Each piece was covered in a perfect, crisp coating. The fries didn't look like anything special, but they tasted incredible. I'm not sure how they were prepared, but I couldn't stop eating them. For food, we went in: Crispy Asian Calamari- I love this! Definitely not your usual boring calamari. It's lightly battered, fried to a golden crisp, and tossed in this sweet-spicy Asian glaze that is ultra delicious. Perfect crunchy bite and amazing with a cocktail. Spicy Asian Shrimp Tacos- These surprised me! The kimchi aioli adds the perfect tangy kick. Really flavorful. Cheeseburger- My bf ordered this and he really liked it simple, classic, and done well. Truffle Mac (regular menu)- My friend planned for us to share it, but the portion was small so we let her enjoy it. I did get one bite, creamy, truffle-forward, and really good! Upside Down Candied Walnut Apple Pie (regular menu)- Hein recommended this and I'm so glad he did. It's a 10/10! Warm, cozy, caramel-drizzled goodness paired with ice cream. Due to Covid-19 several of my thanksgiving dinner got canceled in the last minute so I invite one of my dear friend to join me here for thanksgiving dinner. Drinks were good. The bread was fresh. While the salad was fresh I didn't care for the crumbled blue cheese but my friend loved it. The thanksgiving meal was huge and very delicious. Overall a great value for the price. I'm honestly surprised that I have never done a review for this restaurant. They are located at the Anaheim garden walk which has a paid parking garage with no validation. We typically make reservations to ensure we don't have to wait too long to be seated. You check in at the entrance and they have a waiting area. The staff is usually very friendly and welcoming. This location is an older one and shows some wear and tear. This can be a casual ambiance or potentially for special occasions. They are a seafood restaurant but also offer some steak options. My absolute favorite dish is their stuffed salmon. We came around Valentine's Day so they had a special menu so why not try it. We wanted to share an appetizer and our server suggested the fried oysters. They were PERFECT! They were deep fried crunchy in the outside and tender and juicy in the inside. They were really good and will for sure order them again. The menu included a soup or salad. I went for a fresh salad and my bf for the lobster bisque. The salad was a good size and fresh. The bisque was good, but we have had better. For entrees, my bf had the steak medium rare which was perfectly cooked. It was tender and juicy. I ordered a fish dish that was very tasty. I loved the steamed broccolini. We also chose to order their special valentines drinks. I had the martini which was very sweet and good, but one was enough. This place isn't busy for a reason. We went here for my sisters birthday. I noticed that the table behind us wasn't cleaned yet. We waited for our food for an hour and a half. We only had five people. And not all of us ordered something because we shared. Barely anyone was in the place except maybe two other tables. The music doesn't match the place. The service was lacking a lot. The waiter was not observant and didn't have personality. It felt as if we were kept as hostage there for as long as we waited. We were about ready to get up and leave. It felt like they were doing this on purpose to make it seem like we just got there to other people and as if they are actually having a business. Before we left I noticed the table behind us was still not cleaned and I wondered if they also did this on purpose to make it seem that they had just left when we arrived to our table in front of this uncleaned one. However the food was decent and it seemed like our waiter was actually trying in this not so great restaurant. "Truffle" Macaroni had no trace of truffle taste, and was very bland and flavorless. Don't reccomend. Fish and chips were just bleh, nothing special, just deep fried fish and french fries. Tartar sauce didn't even taste like tartar. Sugar & Spice was good enough! Risotto was nice, and the salmon looked beautiful. Not enough butternut squash purée... Lastly, the buttercake itself was fine! However, it was heavily topped with strawberries (not stated on the menu), and I guess the chef decided to garnish with balsamic glaze which I mistaken for chocolate. I found that very odd. I immediately told the server about the balsamic glaze: he took it back, got it re-plated, and came back and explained on behalf of the chef that he believes the strawberries and balsamic glaze go together. I appreciate the chefs perspective and taste, but, the menu doesn't state i'd be receiving strawberries and balsamic glaze with my buttercake. Not a fun surprise. It took over 20 minutes for half the table to get menus and water. We ordered a ton of food that was generally pretty good! Very classic steakhouse/ seafood vibes. Nothing overly exciting but well executed. The ambiance was strange with us in the middle of the room with a wall of booths with curtains you could close for more privacy on 1 side. They definitely get points for being wheelchair accessible and including a small lift inside to take people from the level of the main entrance down to the level of the side entrance. We were greater by the manager. We arrived when they opened. No one in the restaurant and waiting a few minutes to be seated for our reservation. The sourdough bread was warm, delicious and perfect with soft butter. The fettuccine was tasty but the scallops are super tiny. Now for the Chinese salad. The dressing tasted like soy sauce only. No favor no sweetness. The chicken was slice in thick slices rather than shredded. I definitely will not order the entree again. We dined during the lunch hour. The music was a little high on the volume. Maybe it's different when more people are in the restaurant. Recommend reducing the volume. Stopped by for happy hour which is a decent value menu! We had the Prosciutto di Parma flatbread, the mussels and the chicken wings. Overall the food was a bit subpar in terms of execution. The flatbread was dry and a bit hard, and the prosciutto was baked so it was kind of jerky-like. The chicken wings were huge and as a wings fan, I was excited for these. Unfortunately the drumettes were a little raw still due to the size of these wings. The mussels were well cooked and tasty. Good item for the savory cravings. Lastly the dragons kiss cocktail tasted as good as it looked. It was made with Don Julio reposado tequila and elderflower which I love. Super welcoming and friendly. My mom is disabled and uses a walker. I LOVE and can't express how grateful I am of how handicap friendly they are. We have been eating at M&S for many years now and have always received great service from the staff and managers. We usually go at least once a week if we can for lunch and some weekday happy hours. The food has always been very good and if something was off they corrected it quickly. I really like their lunch specials and usually will get the Miso sea bass with udon noodles or the Waygu steak salad. The clam chowder is excellent and when we have tried the oysters they have been very fresh. Their crème brûlée is great and the chocolate bag is a must try. Sat at bar for 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged I was there. They were busy, but should have said something. When the steak came it was well undercooked, but not one of the four bar staff asked. Decided to pay immediately and take it to my hotel, and my red credit card sat there long enough for me to completely finish my meal. Then had to flag someone down to pay. Menu was bad, food worse. Firstly it's sort of a steak house, they represent on the menu only choice cuts. Every steak was over 50$; for choice. Surprised me there. Would expect a nice place to have some prime cuts. At that price as well. The staff was great, friendly and responsive, got the drinks quickly, the bar tender was awesome, mixologist, and knew his way around the bar, he gets a grade of awesome. I ordered a fish meal, because it was crispy potato's and citrus seasoned halibut and peas for 50$+ Fish came room temp, and barely that. Tiny portion, it was actually a very thin fillet folded over itself, the size of a very small filet mignon. Potatoes were nice, fried, but only 4 small fingerlings on the plate. And a few scattered peas with bacon chunks. Was a rip off, was a total mistake. Though again, not the staffs fault, they were kind and helpful and considerate, they checked in on us, and they even reheated/re made my food. It came back warm this time, but had no flavor except fish. It was supposed to be a citrus dish, but was nowhere to be found. No seasoning at all on the fish. My recommendation is go in, get a drink, have an appetizer or a salad. Tip the bartender and server. Avoid the main dishes. You can see the ownership skimps on the product and you can taste it and see it. I am from out of town, visiting Disney so i am not local, but I know to avoid this when down here. read more
