    Crispy Asian Calamari
    Menghai T.

I got the pan seared ono ($44) and various appetizers. The calamari were very delicious, they weren't those cheap frozen ones you get at the store. The pan seared ono was very fresh and tasted great with the risotto. However seasoning on fish was just underseasoned. Staff were friendly. The only other critique was the spacing between tables, it was definitely tight to get out off. (Had to ask the other table to scoot in to get out). Overall for the food it was great, however pricy but that's no surprise given the area. Food(50%): 7.7 Staff/service(25%): 7.5 Value(25%): 5.0 Overall: 7.0/10

Great happy hour menu and service was great. Food is always delicious and service is awesome. Friday $2 shrimp and shucks are a deal you can't pass!

We had a great Father's Day dinner here. The restaurant has a really nice ambiance with a mix of upscale but still comfortable. The service was friendly and attentive. We ordered Korean BBQ chicken appetizer, and it was a tasty. The chicken was extra crispy, and the sauce had a delicious sweet and spicy kick that paired perfectly with it. For our entrées, my husband ordered the Bourbon NY Strip. The steak was incredibly tender and full of flavor. It was cooked a little more rare than he had requested, but honestly, it was so good that he didn't even want to send it back. He also added a lobster tail, which was just was tasty. I had the chef's special stuffed salmon, and it was delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly and had lots of flavor. The stuffing complemented the salmon really well, and the mashed potatoes were creamy. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails, which were well made and a great addition to the meal. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience. Between the vibey atmosphere, good service, flavorful food, and tasty drinks, we will definitely return the next time we are in Anaheim.

I recently dined at McCormick & Schmick's in Anaheim and walked away feeling underwhelmed overall. While the restaurant has a solid reputation and a polished atmosphere, the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. Service was just okay. Our waitress checked on us only once throughout the entire meal, which made the experience feel a bit inattentive. At one point, she offered to bring us an additional serving of bread, but it never arrived. It's a small detail, but it added to the sense that service lacked follow-through. As for the food, it was decent but not particularly memorable. I ordered the filet mignon well done, and while I understand that can make it more prone to charring, the exterior was more charred than expected. The steak itself was fine, but not standout, especially for a restaurant at this price point. Overall, nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out either. For a place that positions itself as an upscale dining option, I was hoping for a more attentive service experience and more impressive execution in the kitchen.

Food was good, flavorful. Service lacked. My husband ordered his ribeye rare and asked for it to come uncut. It came medium rare and cut. Our server offered for it to be redone, but didn't seem to care much that it came out wrong at all. We declined the redo because we didn't want to wait. My steak & shrimp came rare. I ordered medium rare. It seems like they may have swapped the temp in the kitchen. Cocktails were also good, but we were never asked if we wanted another round. He didn't seem to notice they were even finished. Restaurant is nice inside, we've been for happy hour and like the location.

This was our first time here and we were so impressed by their Caymus wine dinner event! The chef created a wonderful menu that really was accentuated well by the great Napa wines. I loved the ahi tuna and the swordfish dishes. The event was in a private room which allowed for great conversation. The group was friendly and the wine pours were full sized glasses and refill were also liberal. Food portions were also very large and we had leftovers for the next day.

We came at lunchtime and not too many tourists I noted. So we practically populated the large dining area. The place is well decorated for a high end place and seats are comfortable. Our server was well accommodating and understanding. The food was good so were the drinks. The lunch menu are reasonably priced but of course still pricey for premium entrees. I liked the place and maybe try other entrees.

I have always been a fan of McCormick & Schmick's. There used to be a location in Burbank, but this is the only one left in SoCal. Time was short, so I just came in for a quick meal. I started off with a nice cold Martini and a couple of Spicy Asian Shrimp Tacos with Asian slaw, kimchi aioli. This was a great appetizer, perfect for sharing, but more than enough for one, if you are hungry. I also had the Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass, with Miso Ponzu Broth, Stir Fry Vegetables and Udon Noodles. The fish was nicely cooked and the glaze was not too thick. The stir fry veggies were crisp and the Udon noodles were just about perfect. An excellent meal. The service was just fine and the bar is comfortable. If you are in the area, McCormick & Schmick's is definitely worth a visit.

Located at Anaheim Garden Walk, I had a fantastic lunch here. The interior is an upscale, old-school steak and seafood restaurant. Every dish has an exceptionally nice presentation. We started off with some warm, complimentary bread and butter. I also ordered an Arnold Palmer; they know how to make a quintessential one here. For my lunch, I opted for the fish and chips. The Fish and Chips plate consisted of three plump pieces of Alaskan Cod on top of a bed of thin fries. There is no better choice for fish and chips than Alaskan cod. Each piece was covered in a perfect, crisp coating. The fries didn't look like anything special, but they tasted incredible. I'm not sure how they were prepared, but I couldn't stop eating them. Service was excellent and prices were what one would expect at a classy restaurant like this, although the lunch prices were surprisingly reasonable.

I haven't been here in forever, and my last visit was also for Happy Hour, so it felt like a full-circle moment coming back. We were a party of 3 and luckily snagged three seats at the bar. Hein was our bartender/server and he was fantastic super friendly, attentive, and spot-on with recommendations. We ordered from their HH menu and did an upgrade on the Old Fashioned. For food, we went in: Crispy Asian Calamari- I love this! Definitely not your usual boring calamari. It's lightly battered, fried to a golden crisp, and tossed in this sweet-spicy Asian glaze that is ultra delicious. Perfect crunchy bite and amazing with a cocktail. Spicy Asian Shrimp Tacos- These surprised me! The kimchi aioli adds the perfect tangy kick. Really flavorful. Cheeseburger- My bf ordered this and he really liked it simple, classic, and done well. Truffle Mac (regular menu)- My friend planned for us to share it, but the portion was small so we let her enjoy it. I did get one bite, creamy, truffle-forward, and really good! Upside Down Candied Walnut Apple Pie (regular menu)- Hein recommended this and I'm so glad he did. It's a 10/10! Warm, cozy, caramel-drizzled goodness paired with ice cream. If you're thinking about dessert, order this and thank me later! Lol. Overall, a wonderful Happy Hour experience. Great food, and excellent service from Hein. We'll definitely be back to do a regular dine-in next time!

I'm honestly surprised that I have never done a review for this restaurant. They are located at the Anaheim garden walk which has a paid parking garage with no validation. We typically make reservations to ensure we don't have to wait too long to be seated. You check in at the entrance and they have a waiting area. The staff is usually very friendly and welcoming. This location is an older one and shows some wear and tear. This can be a casual ambiance or potentially for special occasions. They are a seafood restaurant but also offer some steak options. My absolute favorite dish is their stuffed salmon. We came around Valentine's Day so they had a special menu so why not try it. We wanted to share an appetizer and our server suggested the fried oysters. They were PERFECT! They were deep fried crunchy in the outside and tender and juicy in the inside. They were really good and will for sure order them again. The menu included a soup or salad. I went for a fresh salad and my bf for the lobster bisque. The salad was a good size and fresh. The bisque was good, but we have had better. For entrees, my bf had the steak medium rare which was perfectly cooked. It was tender and juicy. I ordered a fish dish that was very tasty. I loved the steamed broccolini. We also chose to order their special valentines drinks. I had the martini which was very sweet and good, but one was enough. My bf ordered a smoked whiskey which he loved and they prepared at the table. When it came to dessert, we ordered the chocolate bag. It is BIG and definitely a sharing portion! It is hard chocolate with soft mousse in the inside.

Such an underwhelming restaurant :-( Service + Atmosphere was nice! No complaints in the people or beauty of the restaurant. The food is where this restaurant lacks hard. I had the lobster bisque which was my favorite thing! So creamy and yummy, not fishy at all. I also tasted the clam chowder, which was great tasting! "Truffle" Macaroni had no trace of truffle taste, and was very bland and flavorless. Don't reccomend. Fish and chips were just bleh, nothing special, just deep fried fish and french fries. Tartar sauce didn't even taste like tartar. Sugar & Spice was good enough! Risotto was nice, and the salmon looked beautiful. Not enough butternut squash purée... Lastly, the buttercake itself was fine! However, it was heavily topped with strawberries (not stated on the menu), and I guess the chef decided to garnish with balsamic glaze which I mistaken for chocolate. I found that very odd. I immediately told the server about the balsamic glaze: he took it back, got it re-plated, and came back and explained on behalf of the chef that he believes the strawberries and balsamic glaze go together. I appreciate the chefs perspective and taste, but, the menu doesn't state i'd be receiving strawberries and balsamic glaze with my buttercake. Not a fun surprise. Overall, I would love to come back for only the lobster bisque. :-)

They offer bar seating and booth / table Follow the wall from Randy's donuts and Look for a wall of Japanese sake/beer barrels and head towards the restaurant - the rolling boil. There will be a check in host and stand there and wait (it will be located up against the wall with a big secret door right next to the hostess station) It's very New York inside. When I first came in Spring with the amazing, Karen, the menu and everything was great Now, I took my friend who was in town from Nashville and it was a brand new theme. It's the great Gatsby. Even our waitress, Jasmine was dressed for the occasion. I would say this place is known for Absinthe. They have cocktails featuring it or you can get one of the huge apparatus (huge and glowing green) which, if you are into it? I highly recommend. Just one of the huge apparatus makes one regular drink. Or, what Karen and I did, was split it and make it into a shot for the both of us. The waitress comes out and shows you how it works and goes over everything. Karen, who I came with, was a pro and knew her way around it. She showed me the ropes lol. Honestly, if you are here? When in Rome. Go all out and try it, since it's where they shine here. They took off a few menu items and added some themed drinks. ( a couple new champagne themed drinks) They have big entree items but I suggest small bites and sharing and mostly coming for the drinks. There's no bathroom inside, so you do have to leave the bar and go to the closest one (over behind Randy's donuts) and then enter the speakeasy again Both times coming here I've never had an issue. It's a small, packed place. And yet they still have the cocktails flowing and the food coming out in a good time. So the food and drinks are good Atmosphere is lovely. Service is good. Especially for it usually being very busy in here This place is located inside the Anaheim packing district. So I suggest hitting up a couple other spots before or afterwards for some more food or drinks P.S. it is very dark In here. They never cared if we used our light to look at the menu. However, they do not want flash photography They also do not strictly enforce a dress code (my friend from Nashville asked) however, they suggest dressing business casual and not too underdressed

Just hard liquor taste and undrinkable :( the bartender kindly offered another drink. Unfortunately none of the food was the least bit good. Steak and fries was ordered medium rare and cooked to medium well with what seemed like no seasoning was on there at all. Crab cake was just ok and the slaw beneath it was drenched in a vinaigrette that was just sour and unpleasant. And the Mac and cheese, as we were very hopeful and looking forward to, was probably the blandest Mac and cheese we ever had. We asked the lady bartender for salt and she handed us, no exaggeration (and you guys will probably think I am) a salt shaker with 10 grains of salt in it and said "looks like there's a lil something you could still get out of there" My jaw dropped. But yeah. The shredded meat on top of the Mac and cheese was cooked beyond the point of edible. That one was unfortunately sent back bc we just couldn't eat it. We were bummed over all mostly about the food.

We were escorted inside and our hostess immediately started introducing us to the lore of the place: a capsized ship with the space decorated using pieces recovered from the wreckage. The room is VERY dimly lit, and we actually stood near the entrance for a moment while our eyes adjusted, but honestly that just added to the atmosphere. On the way to our reservation in the Captain's Quarters, our hostess gave us a little tour of the main room and even pointed out the bathrooms for later. Once we sat down, we met our bartender, Drew, who was fantastic. He walked us through the different menus, explained the food and cocktails, and really added to the experience throughout the night. I'm normally a whiskey drinker, so I started with the Southeast Spice Trade while my girlfriend ordered the Pineapple Whipped Colada. Both were delicious, but half the fun was watching Drew make them. You could really see the amount of care that went into the craft and presentation of every drink. For food, we ordered the chicken katsu and ahi poke nachos. I was especially excited when the nachos arrived and I realized they were made with wonton chips. I'm a sucker for wonton chips, so those were an immediate win. We obviously couldn't stop at one round of drinks, so next came the Tarobi Colada and Zombie King. Drew told us a little about the history of the Zombie King and gave us a lesson on rum, so I had to try it, plus it came in one of the coolest mugs I've ever seen. The Zombie King was easily my favorite drink of the night. The flavor was fantastic from beginning to end and dangerously smooth. I didn't even realize how much it had hit me until I stood up. Even leaving was part of the experience. We finally checked out the bathroom and the door has what feels like TEN different locks on it. It genuinely felt like I was locking myself inside the bathroom of an old pirate ship. Between the storytelling, incredible atmosphere, Captain's Quarters, food, cocktails, and especially the service from Drew, this was such a memorable night. This is a great spin on a jungle bird, with some complexity and coffee flavor. I'm usually not a big fan of coffee, but it is at a good level. Chi Chi (Whey vodka, pineapple, lime, date, honey, coconut, salt). This has a great creamy texture which I believe comes from the dairy component of the whey vodka. It is well balanced with some sweetness, and I could taste the coconut and date flavors. Lapu Lapu (Asian rum, Jamaican rum, dry curacao, lime, orgeat, demerara). It is juicy, well balanced, and served with a flaming sugar cube on top. This is the cocktail they chose to serve at their booth at Tiki Oasis recently which says a lot, try it! Thai Me Down (Barbados rum, coconut liqueur, papaya, lemon, demerara, Thai basil). It is served old-fashioned style, and was light and perfectly balanced. Those Thai inspired flavors were all noticeable. Demerara Dry Float. They added and took this one off the menu as of now. It was a balanced light citrusy drink which was served with a delicious sidecar of Hamilton 151 rum infused with banana chips. I sipped half of that and mixed the rest into the cocktail. It was served with a beautiful ice shell. I'm guessing it was too labor intensive, and took up a lot of space in their freezers. Recently added food: Ahi Poke Nachos (marinated ahi tuna, masago, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, furikake, green onion). This is such a tasty starter with so many textures and flavors. I love that the nachos are wontons too, and not just chips. Crab & Cream cheese wontons. Nice crisp wontons with a good amount of crab and cream cheese inside. The chili sauce and spicy mayo adds another layer of flavor, and there is a slice of jalapeno on top for a little heat. Pan-Seared Scallops. This was an excellent lighter entrée. The four scallops are cooked perfectly, and even have a little dollop of caviar on top. I liked the mix of veggies and really liked the bed of potato puree underneath. Steak & Eggs (8oz hanger steak, crying tiger glaze, Nam Jim Jaew sauce, sunny eggs, rice). I normally wouldn't try steak & eggs for dinner, but I can't resist a good hanger steak. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and I appreciate that it was pre-sliced. The crying tiger glaze and sauce were so flavorful. There's plenty of rice to soak up any left egg yolk or sauce. Recently added desserts: Dubai Chocolate Lava Cake. This was excellent, but it's definitely sweet and rich. Save some room if you plan on ordering this. Ube Flan Cake. I'm usually not a fan of flan, but I have to try anything with ube and this was good. The cake had nice ube flavor, and I liked that the flan was a little firm since the looser custardy/gelatinous texture is not for me. This is definitely a lighter dessert than the lava cake. It's not a new drink, but I also had the Naval Grog for the first time. (Lost Voyage rum, overproof white rum, allspice dram, lime, grapefruit, demerara, honey). It is boozy with nice spice notes. Other repeat cocktails enjoyed were Tales from the Black Lagoon (my favorite), Missionary's Downfall, Agave Parrot, Singapore Sling, and Serpents Grasp all of which are excellent. Their cocktails, food, ambiance, and service are always top notch. Thank you Ying, Erica, Greg, Jordan, Joey, Iris, Karen, Kyle, Joy, and John for your wonderful hospitality during our visits. We will return again soon!
