We usually come for birthday dinners. The overall food quality is good and the garlic butter is amazing, however the taste and experience is highly dependent on the chef you are assigned. I've had amazing chefs that cook everything perfectly, and I've had really bad chefs that overcook everything. It's very hard to request specific chefs so I've given up on putting it in my reservation comments. Dinner is usually very crowded and loud. Lunch is less busy with the option of 45 minute power lunch (no substitutions or promos) or the regular lunch menu where you may end up waiting longer but allows you to use with other promotional offers. It's all about the chef! Some are great others are less desirable. We came twice this month and the two experiences were very different. The last visit was excellent! But overall, it's still one of our favorite places.

In short, the place was quiet, the chef still put on a show, and the food was decent... but it didn't quite live up to the five star experience that I was used to. This Benihana is on Ball Road right off the freeway, making it pretty easy to get to. The parking lot used to be shared with an El Torito, but unfortunately that place had a fire and is still being repaired, so Benihana had the parking lot to itself. I went on a weekday for an early dinner, so the place was practically a ghost town both inside and out. I had a group of four, and only had to share my half of the table with one other group of the same size. There were children present in both parties, but everybody was well behaved and entertained by our hibachi chef, Jorge, who put on a traditional Benihana show. Despite the fact that he was not at all Japanese (and owned it) there was plenty of spatula, twirling, the famous onion volcano, a beating heart made of fried rice, and other standard tricks to entertain us as he prepared our food. I had heard about the A5 Wagyu steak and surprisingly enough. It was only $10 more than some of the other steak options so I decided to give it a try. Beforehand, of course, I was treated to a bowl of miso soup, a salad with their special ginger sauce, and some chicken fried rice. There were also mushrooms and vegetables included in the meal. I will say that my first bite of that Wagyu steak was incredible. It practically melted in my mouth. However, the more of it I ate, the more I felt like I was just chewing on fat. I asked for it to be cooked medium rare and that's exactly what I got, but I'm wondering if the fat had not completely rendered into the steak before it was chopped up. Maybe that kind of steak needs cooked a little differently. I will also add the ambience was a little bit spoiled by the chef at the table next to us, where the young hibachi chef was talking about growing in Anaheim and some of the hardships that he faced, including being victimized by crime. I'm sure that the couple at his table celebrating an anniversary was none too thrilled about it either, but I guess that's none of my business. Overall, I had a great time, but there are a few areas that would need touched up to bring it back to a five-star experience.

Came here for my birthday meal after a day at Disney and it was pretty disappointing. We were asked to wait in the bar for a table to open and weren't given any timeline. After 25 min, I asked if we were close to being seated and we were then taken to a table. My husband and I both ordered the spicy tofu steak hibachi. I asked if it came with fried rice since I noticed the menu said white rice. The server said it could be added on as a side for $7 extra, so we did that. "Added on as a side" insinuates it would be in addition to, however, no white rice was served. I wouldn't have paid that much extra for a swap. I requested that my shrimp appetizer be added to my husband's plate because I don't eat shellfish. But instead, they just left it out. The portion of veggies was small and only onion and zucchini. I remember it used to include mushrooms (and carrots?). The amount of food served here absolutely does not justify $33. I was pretty shocked, given Benihana is known for its hefty portions. Left a lot to be desired...

Benihana Anaheim is one of those spots that still works when you want dinner to feel like part of the night out, not just a meal. We went on a Monday before a Ducks game, and it was the perfect pre-game move. Easy parking, clean bathrooms, and a lively vibe without feeling chaotic. Jasmine took great care of us all night and stayed on top of refills like a pro. Chefsito was a lot of fun too -- super entertaining and even threw in a few tricks I hadn't seen before, which made the experience feel fresh. We started with the chili ponzu yellowtail roll, then went all in with the Wagyu A5 Japan Tokyo Broil, wagyu steak fried rice, and the Deluxe Treat which is the filet and lobster. The meal definitely leaned splurge, but if you're in the mood to treat yourself before heading over to Honda Center, this is a pretty solid way to do it. Service was strong, the show was fun, and the food made it feel worth the stop. Solid pre-Ducks game dinner.

Went to visit on 04/06/26. You can see the restaurant from the street, and there's plenty of parking so you don't need to worry about that at all! When you walk inside, this place is very much a vibe. It has really clean and classic interior, with rich dark colors inside. I absolutely love it! On the left is the actual grill side, the right side is more of a sushi restaurant with a sushi bar. Everyone was absolutely great! Our waitress was super sweet, she was very informative on the menu and made sure our tea was always filled! Chef Kevin was amazing! He was entertaining, and talented! Definitely would request him as a chef again! Friends and I got to try the Wagyu around the world. Holy cow, yeah, it's pricey, but yeah, it's totally worth it!!!! The meats melt into your mouth. Also with the fried rice, veggies, and shrimp. Would totally want to splurge on that again! I also got the Red Plum Sake Sangria for the drink. This was absolutely refreshing. And paired really well with the meal! Overall, have a good night with friends/family. When it's a celebration, or just wanting a night out and want to treat yourself, do it!

Had such a great time at Benihana! The food was delicious, the chef was entertaining, and the whole experience was perfect for a celebration. Great service, generous portions, and lots of fun. We'll definitely be back

I've been eating at Benihana's since I was a kid - that's almost 3 decades now. It shows you the staying power that Benihana beholds. And for as long as I have been eating at various Benihana locations, I've never had a bad experience. It is one of the most consistent restaurants I know regardless of location or the chef cooking your meal. They always bring great food, great service, and great entertainment. The only thing I can complain about is the cost but it is what it is - inflation has affected everything, especially when it comes to eating out. But at Benihana, you gotta remember that you are paying for more than just food, you're paying for the entire package which includes the service, the experience and the entertainment. I ate here a couple days ago and we were assigned a chef by the name of Oscar aka Chefsito. He may be young but he brings the energy and the fun, and most importantly he knows how to handle the grill like a vet. He apparently started from the bottom as a busboy when he was a teenager, then promoted to a line cook and now he's a chef. Any future parties would be lucky to get him as their cook. All in all, my friends and I were satisfied and we look forward to celebrating another occasion here.

Overpriced, showy, and mid. Man just spinning egg and not doing any cool tricks. He could've cracked the egg on the spatula. Very oily and lack seasoning for the fried rice. I ordered fried rice with wagyu and it lacked flavor. Also I thought the order would be $15 for the rice but it turned out to be $15 + $8! That's insanely expensive for such a small ass portion of cubed Wagyu bits wtf!! Redeemed my bday reward and they only offered the little girl next to me bday treats and sang to her (I don't need singing). They asked everyone else there what sauce they wanted and just skipped me and handed me a sauce plate and soy sauce without asking. First time here and my last because the experience was so odd.

No need to come here for anything special. They refuse to honor any sort of celebration. They instead flaunt around their platter of upgraded meat and pack the tables to the max - with zero regard to any sort of celebration. I assume this location is pressed for cash. That's how they conduct business. An absolute waste of money and time. Gross. Avoid

His second time and he was entertained.

Menu changed, pricing went up ... but with the entertaining chef Mark Pollo, everything was worth it.

Yes When You check in just let them know. If you're pressed for time they have tables by the sushi that offer the same menu except it is cooked in the back

What's the whole purpose of making a reservation if we still have to wait about 25 mins to be seated?

Reservations do get priority seating however, there are instances where parties linger or stay longer than anticipated so that may be a factor that delays seating reservations in a timely manner! Also there are occasions when only reservations are… Read more

3.5/5 Stars - Nice Experience, But Some Service and Timing Issues…read more We visited Tabi-Ji Teppanyaki for my husband's birthday and had an overall decent experience, though there were a few things that would make us think twice before returning. We chose the dining room seating rather than the teppanyaki tables. The staff did offer us the teppanyaki experience, but since we don't eat red meat or chicken from certain places and weren't sure how the food preparation process worked with mixed ingredients, we opted for a regular table instead. One downside was the seating arrangement. We were seated away from most of the other guests, and it often felt like the staff forgot we were there. Our original host/server was attentive and friendly, but once they were busy with other tasks, it became difficult to get assistance. It was also not busy for a Tuesday evening. We found ourselves waiting for long periods or having to wave someone down, which wasn't ideal, especially for a birthday dinner. As for the food: * Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll (4/5): Fresh, good quality fish, and a generous portion. A solid sushi roll. * Garlic Edamame (4/5): Flavorful and exactly what you'd expect from a good appetizer. * Lobster Duo with Miso Soup, Salad, and Fried Rice (3/5): Unfortunately, the lobster was quite chewy and seemed overcooked. The miso soup and fried rice were both enjoyable and helped make up for it. * Unagi Donburi (4/5): My husband's meal came with white rice, miso soup, salad, and fried rice. It was his first time trying eel, and he really enjoyed the soft texture and flavor. He said he'd definitely order it again. Our biggest disappointment was the timing of the food. The Unagi Donburi arrived significantly later than everything else. By the time it came out, we had already eaten most of the appetizers and other dishes and were pretty full. It's unfortunate because it seemed like a dish that would have been much better enjoyed fresh, but we ended up taking most of it home. Overall, the food ranged from good to very good, and being able to reserve through Resy and use our Amex dining benefit definitely helped offset the cost. However, considering the price point, we expected more attentive service and better pacing of the meal.

Outside of those selections, the brunch options were amazing and worth the cost. Shout out to Ryan and Koda for the hospitality, and the bartenders that served us during happy hour. I would absolutely recommend this place for anyone visiting Orange County!

Ahi roll was good needs something to punch it up like a little citrusy addition. Also tried the Parmesan truffle fries; comes with Togarashi seasoning which was spicy and overpowering. The Togarashi was not a good "flavor" (IMO) just too hot. I was not too keen on the breading crisp on the fries. I like fries to be cut straight from the potato with no additional outer coating to make it crispy. Drinks were very good but mine was a little sweeter than needed. I even asked for the simple syrup to be removed before I ordered. The coconut puree is just a tad too sweet but the mojito was still delicious. Elliott had a martini.. very strong but also delicious. No validation for parking from Roy's. You only get one hour free. Atmosphere is relaxing and gives off vacation vibes.

They were very accommodating regarding substitutions. We had the Kalbi New York Strip Steak and the Shellfish Combo, a festive pineapple martini, the pineapple upside down cake, and the lava cake. It was pricey, but worth it. Our server, Kyana, was so kind and knowledgeable. She said that she had worked there for several years , which was evident with how well she knew the menu. It was because she was so good that I paid the 5% wellness fee in addition to tipping her well. However, I was able to calculate my own tip and even though I wanted to be generous, my percentage was less than the suggested percentage. While many establishments do this, I noticed the suggested tip was based on the total, which included the tax, in addition to the wellness fee. I believe in a living wage and wellness for all employees, but I don't want to be tricked into it. Roy's also does not validate parking anymore. One hour is free, however, we know it takes longer to enjoy your meal at a place like Roy's.

So, I decided to try it out. I called in my order and setup a pick up for later(after the gym). When I got to the restaurant the guy that took my order brought it to the front and noticed that I was sweating from the gym. He said "hey, let me get you a drink on the house for that workout". What a surprise and very cool. I got the New York steak and shrimp with the yakisoba noodles and my wife got the New York steak with the garlic noodles. The seasoning on the shrimp was really good. Very flavorful. It was all soo good. Fairly pricey but definitely worth it for the food you get and flavor of the food. Can't wait to go back again.

The food was amazing! You get Shogun /Benihana kind of food without the show. I got the chicken fried rice and vegetables and my husband got the salmon fried rice and vegetables. You get a lot of food. So definitely get your moneys worth. The prices are a little on the high end. You may not be eating at Benihana's or Shogun, but the prices are not that much different. I would recommend this restaurant to my family and friends. Can't wait to go back again!

The food here is excellent and very reasonably priced. The yakitori skewers were as good as anywhere I've been and the sushi rolls were great as well. I especially liked their current special tuna roll and the bacon wrapped shrimp skewer. Service was attentive and friendly. Really felt like the value for portion sizes and quality was on point, especially compared to what you get in LA proper.

It is 6/10 for me soup was very bland, hard boiled egg yolk had a very strong scent (which maybe boiled it for too long) didn't really get full from this. The skewers are always good and delicious. I think they have changed their menu also? There were some food items I was looking for but it seems to be discounted. The server were nice enough to explain each items in the menu but we weren't assisted that quickly as it was a very busy night. The decorations are very cozy and felt like you were in a authentic Japanese restaurant they also have a place where you can sit on the floor but that takes about 40 - 2 hours. Overall experience was great! Will go back and try other items.
