I would give McCoy's chophouse a high recommendation. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and attentive. We went to the restaurant one month ago for 23rd anniversary dinner. We are excited to go to this restaurant because we have been there a few times before and the service and quality of the food was very very good. The time was the same just with a few adjustments. Of course it is a very busy restaurant and a very enjoyable dining experience. when our waitress who was very attentive asked if we wanted appetizers, and if we were celebrating anything, we did notify her that it was our anniversary that we had received a text message saying that we would be able to have a free appetizer. We did not have that text message, but they were very willing to honor a gift certificate. We enjoyed our appetizer and the bread and oils that they brought to us. Our entrées were ordered, and we had only a few hiccups with the temperatures of the meat. My wife and ordered a steak that would be well done and myself a medium rare steak. Upon arrival for hers, it was undercooked, but paced back on the grill and taken care of with no delay and hassle My steak was undercooked as well, but I had medium rare and it was just rare. They took mine entrée and took it back to the kitchen and recooked itiwith no discrepancy or issues. Upon our referred entrées, we had become full of the delightful bread oils and our appetizer that we were no longer able to continue on with our dinner due to being full. The experience was good and worth the time however there was some disappointment only because the kitchen was full and we had refilled the meals a few times. However, then management was very understanding and came over and talked to us about our concerns, and we explained that we were very excited to eat here and that we understood how busy they were and continue to plan return returning to the restaurant on a less busy night. The management said that the meal was on the restaurant that night and apologized for the inconvenience. I'm leaving the restaurant. The manager only has that we give the restaurant a second chance and come back. We will return to this restaurant. We enjoyed the ambience and the staff and my excellent excellent food. read more

Had a lovely experience. Great waitress. Fancy table. Fab food. Why not 5 stars? Restaurant was not full when we arrived but we did end up beside the most popular couples in the county. They knew everyone and everyone stopped over to say hi and more. Almost offered a chair so the drop-ins could sit. Not really McCoys' fault but using the restaurant footprint slightly differently may have helped. Problem with food? Gosh I cannot eat that much! I Bread and salad filled me up. Pappardelle was amazing (the fresh burrata was perfect child and cream!) but huge! I don't really understand why it came with a side but I have a month of food leftover. read more

I love this place! It was a perfect spot for a romantic dinner for my husband and I. There is ample street parking and a large rear parking lot. They have a large menu with many items to choose from. Our server Chrissy was really great. She provided great service without making us feel rushed, and she was great at explaining all of the menu items and anticipating our needs. We were brought out some really good fresh bread. Seasonings with oil were mixed at our table for dipping and we also received a plate of pickles and olives. The steak tartare was superb. I loved my Chilean sea bass feature that also included some very large grilled shrimp. My husband opted for the NY strip tasting trio. It was fun to try the different types of wagyu and dry aged steak, all of which were exquisite. The carrot cake is another stand out. TLDR: Amazing service (huge shout out to our server Nathan who was awesome) but overpriced food that does not taste good. This place tries to emulate a NYC style menu and pricing but falls way under. Most of our party of 4 could not finish anything we ordered and hated most of it (one even felt sick from the seafood), yet left with a $500 bill. Unbelievable. The only dishes that were good were the prime rib and the mashed potatoes. Everything else went untouched. Definitely avoid all seafood here. I did like the free bread they gave us to start, which was soft and warm and came with butter and a garlic sauce mixed table side. They also gave pickles to start. For the specific dishes we ordered: - Raw clams and raw oysters (3/10): We ordered a dozen each. These are usually my favorite but after one or two, I stopped bc I could tell they were not fresh and were poor quality. They also lacked flavor. I do NOT mess around with seafood, esp raw seafood. - Prime rib (8/10): This was good. Cooked well and a massive serving. Could feed two people. - Pappardelle with short rib ragu (1/10): This was recommended by the waiter and was the only fresh homemade pasta option. I can't believe a restaurant that is as expensive as this one only has one fresh pasta option. Maybe I'm just spoiled by NYC but that seems insane to me. In any event, the pasta was undercoooked, the sauce tasted like it was jarred (not saying it actually was but it tasted like it), and the short ribs were so tough I had one bite and didn't eat the rest. It came with burrata that lacked flavor and tasted watery. - Linguine with clams and shrimp (1/10): my mom ordered this and had two bites and then couldn't finish the rest. She said the dish was too salty and the clams and shrimp tasted poor quality and made her sick the rest of the night. - Wet aged prime ribeye (2/10): We wanted the bone in ribeye but were told they were out (wish they told us at the outset), so got the wet aged prime ribeye. My dad did not like it, which made me so sad. I didn't try it but got the feeling it was over cooked. He was trying a lot harder than he should have to cut through some of the meat. It came with bacon wrapped asparagus, which he took one bite of then didn't finish. Said the bacon was way too hard and not good. - side of mushrooms (2/10): This was pathetic. It was expensive yet basically a dish of the cheapest mushrooms you could find in the grocery store sauteed. At least in NYC, for the same price, they give you more fancy and gourmet mushrooms or at least a mushroom medley. This was honestly embarrassing. - side of vegetables du jour (2/10): This was a tiny pathetic looking plate if a couple of cut up zucchini. This may have been more embarrassing than the mushrooms. - baked French onion soup (7/10): Most of the party ordered this and seemed to like it. I had a few bites as well. It was fine but nothing to write home about. Overall, such a disappointment. I hope they improve bc it would be really nice to have a nice, fancy restaurant with good food in the area. So.... You have to try the bread and amazing garlic spread they make fresh at your table.. but don't eat too much. The Caesar salad is more oily than creamy but it's darn good and the croutons are fresh and home made. Don't eat that all either bc you need to save room from the main dish. The filet was a little over done from medium but it was still pretty good. I asked for the chef butter to be added and I do wish it was a little better but didn't make me sad. Then try some desert and let me know bc I didn't take my advice and was too full. Add some espresso at the end and it was a great meal. Our waiter was great and the location was very decorative. Based on my most recent visit, I can confirm that when it comes to the food, service, and ambiance, McCoy's is still the dean of the steakhouse scene in the tri-cities area! We started off with the honey horseradish shrimp, which was unique and delicious, as well as the seafood bisque which was creamy and very good. For the mains we had the steak casino and the cowboy steak with bone marrow butter, which is always my favorite. Dessert was creme brulee, which wasn't too sweet, which I appreciated. Came here for a date and majority of the night exceeded my expectations. Service: My waitress, I believe was Kira, she was the absolute best. She came to our table multiple times to take care of us and when we wanted to change something in our order, she went straight to the kitchen to take care of the changes. My boyfriend ordered a Moscow Mule, but it tasted like Sprite, so she gave us another on the house. We made small talk with her and she definitely made the experience much more fun. Food: We ordered garlic steamed clams to start with, the baked french onion soup, the soup of the day (a vegetable soup with beef broth base), the wet aged prime new york strip with bone marrow butter, the wet aged prime delmonico with bone matter butter, and sides of mashed potato and the eggplant parmesan. We received complementary bread, butter and roasted garlic (with parmesan, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar) as well. It's complementary, so we didn't expect it to be as good as it was. Most places do a basic bread and butter or a spiced butter or sorts if they want to stand out. McCoy's roasted garlic is definitely a stand out. The garlic steamed clams were very good. It came with more clams than we had expected. The residual liquid from the clams pairs well with the bread. The French onion soup is an extremely filling soup. There's a very thick slab of cheese on top and the bread inside is a slice of the complementary bread. One of the best French onion soups I've had. Cooked to perfection. Will definitely be returning for this soup. The vegetable soup was enjoyable, reminds me of home cooked soups. Since it was the soup of the day, it came free with the dinner, nothing to complain about. The mashed potatoes and eggplant parm were also pretty good. I love mashed potatoes with the skin and was delighted to see the mashed potatoes had skins upon receiving it. I would rank it as one of the top 3 mashed potatoes I've had. The ONLY thing that deters me from giving McCoy's a 5 star is how the steaks were cooked. Both steaks, first few bites, were fantastic. Juicy and medium rare like we had asked. However, the sides of a steak cooks faster than the middle. So after getting an inch into the steak, the meat started to get cold on the inside like a rare steak. I cut open the middle of the steak and it was completely raw. The same with my boyfriend's steak. We decided to just call it a night since we were pretty full from all the other food we had ordered and took it home to recook. Aside from the raw steak when we had asked for medium rare, everything was fantastic. If we do return, we will absolutely ask for a medium steak instead of medium rare. read more

I went to this restaurant on a business trip with work colleagues and customers and the ambiance is classy and quiet which was perfect for work related conversations. The menu is quite sophisticated with many choices and the waitress took the time needed to explain all the refinement and details needed. I went with the salmon but really hesitated as everything looked good. The desert menu from the picture was also very tempting but as I ate too much in the first place decided not to add any food to the evening. Prices were on the higher end but the food was delicious. I've been to some of the finest Michelin star restaurants in Boston, NY and DC and NONE of them were this overpriced- or if they were they were amazing. I've had better food at Olive Garden. Waitstaff was very knowledgeable about gluten free menu options and was able to accommodate dietary restrictions. The prime rib was one of the best I've ever had. The meat was extremely tender and flavorful and even had gluten free au jus with horseradish sauce that made the meal complete! I was in NY for a business trip and I took the IT boys out for dinner. They worked hard and I knew they were going to well in advance, so on the project plan I suggested this place; well the powers above me said to go. I had been here a few times when it was Lampy's and the food was excellent. There was a lot of laughs and stories as the night went on and a few libations crossed our lips. Everyone was taken back by the prices, but I assured everyone that we had approval. Some tried fish, most tried steak. The wet aged and dry age ribeye were most of our choices. All I can say is that it was one of the best steaks I have ever had. The appetizers were great as well. The seared diver scallops and nana mama's candy bacon were to die for. Nobody had room for desert, but most of use took it home with us. I think it was an added touch for them to bring us hot, damp, towels to clean up after the meal. Justin let everyone know that the towel was for the meat sweats, I almost spit the last sip of my water out. read more

On Friday I went to McCoy's Chophouse for my birthday lunch with my daughter. The waiter spills two drinks on me. I'm shocked but I keep my cool because I could never work in food service. Another patron says "Way to keep your cool. I would've have been able to" you've guessed right- he was an older yt man. The reality is I couldn't afford to "lose my cool". As a Black woman we can't lose our cool except we be labeled aggressive and angry. It was my birthday so I just tried to move along. In all my years of going out to eat I have never had a drink spilled on me much less two at the same time. They comped our drinks which added up to $27 only AFTER me asking. If y'all have been to McCoy's you know it's easily $75/pp. I did not think this was sufficient at all given the situation. I've had my entire meal comped for way less and I've had the manager come over personally to check on things after rectifying the situation. None of those things happened. I paid my bill and left a tip. I filled out my comment card and as I was walking out I asked to speak to the manager. I barely said one line and he SNATCHES the comment card out of my hand as waves me off. I calmly ask him if he thinks it's appropriate to snatch things from people. He says that he will comp my meal at this point. He voids the transaction and brings me my receipt and tip. I give him back the tip and tell him " Give him his tip. It's your job to make sure the customer leaves satisfied- NOT HIM" I was not overly upset that he spilled the drinks but I was very upset obviously because it was my birthday. The callous dismissive manner in which he dealt with me and the way he met even my initial comment with disdain wreaked of racism. Ofcourse we were the only Black people in the restaurant. All I wanted was some lamb. I don't plan on ever eating there again and neither should you. read more

A pleasant and unexpected surprise in Endicott NY. I dined here during a work meeting. The atmosphere is a modern steakhouse restaurant with dark furniture and dim lighting. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgable of recommend dishes. My only complaint about the layout is that there is only one bathroom, so you may wait awhile. Other than that, I really enjoyed my experience. A must have - dip your bread in the the spice platter The spice platter comes with olive oil, fresh squeezed garlic, Parmesan, butter, and crushed chili peppers - an unexpected and simple combination that makes world's of difference with your fresh warm bread. I've never had anything like it anywhere else in the world! I'm craving this currently as I'm writing. I also highly recommend the lobster tail. Cooked to perfection and topped off with butter. I'm drooling. The stuffed mushrooms with goat cheese and spinach were a little overly salted for my palate, but still a good appetizer to order and share. The service was excellent and the food was pretty good - so for that McCoy's gets a strong recommendation in my book. read more

I've been here a few times and I'd say its hit or miss. We usually go and sit at the bar and I think that's the way to go to McCoy's. The bartender is very nice, apps are good, and there is good liquor selection. Pricey for the area but nothing crazy. We went last weekend for dinner, and got sat in what I'd describe as "the back room." We were sat at one of those big booths where they use two small tables to split it in two, I thoroughly hate this...there is no place to put your feet and you feel like you're eating with strangers. I get that restaurants like the flexibility but its a bad start to your experience at what is likely the most expensive restaurant in the area. My girlfriend's tuna was pretty good...not amazing but good enough. I got some sort of salmon with flambeed berries and for the first time I can remember, I sent it back. It wasn't overdone or poorly prepared, it was just a VERY bad dish. Replaced it with Chicken Piccata and that was fine. The service was good, no complaints there. But between the seating situation and the salmon, I'd spend my money elsewhere next time (or go for drinks and apps at the bar.) read more

After ordering from McCoy's Chophouse several times, this new restaurant does not hold up to the standard expected with the high prices. On average, one dinner for our family of 4 would be over $300. On each occasion, we experienced several problems with our orders ranging from severely undercooked food (to the point we needed to put it back on the grill), low quality, tough meat, cold food, missing items, and completely wrong orders. On the last occasion, we ended up throwing away most of the meal and ordering from another local restaurant. As very frequent, long-time patrons of Number 5 (30+ years), we were very sad to see it go, but we looked forward to trying McCoy's Chophouse & we love supporting local business during these times. Sadly, it did not live up to the Number 5 experience. We reached out to voice our concerns with the quality and we were told management would be in contact, yet we never heard back from anyone. For the very high prices, you would expect more precision and better customer service. read more

A bit of history first... McCoy's Chop House is an amalgamation of two local high end restaurants: Lampy's and #5. The #5 location was sold and the Lampy's location in Endicott was renovated and is now McCoy's Chop House. Let's start with the atmosphere, it's much more cozy and inviting so big improvement there. Service: top notch. It was as if they we happy we were there and would do anything to make us happy. Kristie was our server on this visit and apparently worked for 15 years at the old #5 so this is a seasoned professional that really enjoys her craft. Food: The menu appears to combine favorites from the old #5 and Lampy's with a bunch of new additions. I had the crab and avocado cocktail as an appetizer followed by New England clam chowder and Lampy's Scampi for the main dish. All were exquisite. My wife had the beet salad and filet mignon which was likewise. Bottom line, food is top notch. My only slight complaint is the bread they served with the EVOO and garlic. It is way too dense and cakey. Very surprising since there are two bakeries in the local area that make the best Italian bread on the planet. Price/value: ok, MCH is pricey but you get what you pay for. If this was a big city, MCH would be a bargain but here in one of the most economically depressed areas in the country, it's expensive so be prepared. Is it worth it? Definitely! Visited on a Saturday night the day after Christmas. We called for reservations around 630 for the same night and surprisingly were able to get a table for 7pm for 2. My wife and I started with the fried calamari. It was very well cooked and the batter was light. They give you 3 different dipping sauces and we enjoyed them all. The French onion soup is to die for! My wife got the prosciutto wrapped salmon which was a special for the evening. It came out perfectly cooked and super tender. I got the stuffed Greek tenderloin which also came out perfectly cooked. It was absolutely delicious. The service was excellent and although it is pricey for the area, it's a bargain compared to other similar restaurants in bigger cities. This is by far the best high end restaurant in the greater Binghamton area and we will be back soon! read more

We heard a lot of good things about this place so we've been super excited to go, but it didn't live up to the hype. The good: Service was amazing. The Shrimp Cocktail is a 5 star all day. Martinis are $9 for Zyr vodka (100 points). The garlic and olive oil mix they brought with the bread was excellent. The bad: Wines by the glass selection is horrible I wanted the bucatini carbonara but was told they were all out so I ordered the short rib pappardelle instead. The short rib was delicious, the pasta however definitely tasted less like pappardelle and more like egg noodles, so much that I couldn't eat it. They were kind enough to offer to switch it out for me, but I elected not to do that and just eat the short rib. By comparison the pappardelle at Remlicks is a 5 and this is a 1. I really wanted to love it. Overall it reminds me how I would've rated the old Number 5: fancy/high priced meals that don't deliver for the price. If we go back it'll be to sit at the bar, eat a burger and shrimp and enjoy the cheap martinis. read more

It was my lady's birthday, and along with another couple, we celebrated with dinner at McCoys. The service was very good. Ambiance? A drop ceiling spray painted black, a musty carpet, and a sign out front that certainly used to say something else. If that's ambiance well, okay. My fellow diners all enjoyed their food. A Filet Mignon (that looked delish too), a chicken Corden Bleu that he enjoyed but looked frozen and warmed up to me. And the birthday girl loved her lobster. Now to ME. I got Lampy Scampi. It seems this dish survives from Lampy's old menu. But it has NOTHING to do with Scampi. I knew when he put it down it wasn't what I thought I ordered. At best it's Shrimp Marsala. I decided not to make a fuss and eat it, but it was horrible.(My Lady tasted it and agreed!) Mushy, pasty, frozen tasting shrimp, so I couldn't even just eat the shrimp out of it! They comped it when they saw I didn't eat it, but it was too late. And then the waiter says "a lot of people think they're ordering something else"! It's part my fault for trying shrimp at a chop house. Though I think "Lampy Scampi" is still on the menu simply because it rhymes. read more

Very disappointed with my meal. Ordered veal piccata. Salad was good, meal arrived and looked like 3 pieces of leather in a brown sauce with capers. Veal was incredibly overcooked, tasted freezer burnt. In no way was it a piccata sauce. It was a marsala sauce that they threw capers in. I re-read the menu as i know theirs "lampy scampi" is in more of a marsala sauce than a true "scampi" sauce. Menu stated 'veal in a lemon butter sauce with capers.' For $35 a plate, I expected something exceptional. They did take the meal off our bill which was appreciated, but I didn't go to "one of our areas finest" restaurants to have a salad and baked potato for dinner. read more

Rebranded Lampey's as McCoy's, the quality of the food remains at very high standards. This coming from someone that owns a steak ager, the Porterhouse special i had last night was fantastic. The only reason this review isn't 5 stars, is that my steak was $75. It is a good thing to ask how much the special is before you eat it. 2 drinks each and an app, this dinner was $302 with 20% $50 tip. Miserable experience from start to finish. We had a reservation at 7:30p that was not ready when we got there and we had to wait 20+ minutes for. It was all down hill from there. 3 hours for dinner. Multiple wrong and missing dishes and drinks. For a party of 2 just doesn't make sense. If that's not obnoxious enough, the waitress comes back at the end of the meal very obviously holding her belly to let us know she was pregnant. Clearly to induce more of a tip. Seems the two posters with bad experiences were the extreme exception. We visited last night and had a wonderful experience. Looking at their prices online, I was prepared for steak house prices adjusted for the current inflation. While the prices were as posted, the meal was substantially more than we expected. Initially we received a small plate of pickled vegetables. Not really up my alley but my wife really enjoyed it. To start my wife ordered the beet salad and I ordered the octopus. To my surprise our waitress then asked what I wanted on my salad. Didn't expect a salad but received a very nice and large tossed salad. Friday nights is 1/2 priced bottles of wine so we ordered a bottle of Manage e tois, only $16 with the special. The wine was served with a plate of chocolate and cheese, another first for me. My octopus arrived timely served in an aioli sauce with pasta and grape tomatoes. Very nice. For mains my wife ordered the scallops and I the prime rib, 28 oz. The scallops were served with a risotto which my wife loved. She rarely eats the "starch" but cleaned up this generous portion of risotto as well as the perfectly done scallops. To my surprise, again, the prime rib was offered with a choice of side. I went with the eggplant parm. Never saw eggplant parm offered as a side before. My prime rib was about 2 inches thick and done perfectly. A lot of food for our final bill of $160. Thank you so much for accommodating us (party of 4) 15 min before close. As someone who has worked in restaurants for over 20 years I know how inconvenient that can be. And just for the record..I didn't want to be those people. It was the guy who wanted the salmon. I sincerely apologize for that. (It made me lmao to hear that was the only thing you were out of) All that being said, food was perfect and service was outstanding. I 100% recommend this place. Just don't be those people that show up 15 min before close. Wish I had taken pics. The haddock sandwich was enough for two. Chicken caprese sandwich was prepped to perfection.
