My rear bumper was scratched and torn underneath. I had backed into a wall and did not want to go thru my insurance. Matt was able to help me out a bit with a better price. My car is otherwise pristine and I have not had the best experience with most bodyshops. The car was ready when promised and the repair/replacement of the bumper looked very good. It has been awhile since I have needed a bodyshop and I did have sticker shock at what it cost. The other bodyshop I visited had the same amount on the quote. I would give them high marks for this first experience with their shop. I have known other people who have used their shop and have been happy too. read more

I am amazed at the level of detail McCurdy's went through to make sure my car was perfect after a minor incident requiring my 525 BMW to have a new trunk installed. They steam cleaned my engine, detailed the entire interior, wahed the carpets, I mean everything about the car looked brand new, almost as good as I bought it 6 years ago. I am so utterly impressed. For thirty years now I have always relied on McCurdy's Body Works to do whatever needs to be done to bring my car back to its "like new" condition. Surprisingly, they keep on getting better and better at it. They not only replaced my left rear door with a used one as required by my insurance co., they refinished the whole car somehow, making all of it look just like new. The replacement left rear door fits perfectly and closes snugly just as it always has. Try as I might, I found absolutely no fault whatsoever in their work. Even the new paint matched the old, both in color and in its beautiful shine. They had to keep my car for an extra four days while they squeezed some more money out of the insurance co., but they listened to my pleas to finish it before I needed it badly and delivered it on time. I'm from Boston where it's foolish to care too deeply about your car; between the roads, other drivers, the elements and the mountains of road salt, you'll be lucky if your car doesn't look like something out of Mad Max after a couple of years. A new transplant to the area, I bought my first new car. In the northeast, I wore every scrape and dent as a badge of honor and used them as a repellant for the bat guano Boston drivers with nice cars: who's gonna flinch first when it's between their new Beemer and my old Honda? Here, the shoe's on the other foot. People better back the fork off from my new baby. So what happens? One day, I was standing in a grocery store and happened to watch out the window as a clueless driver clumsily backed out of a spot, scraped the crap out of my car, and attempted to drive off. I managed to chase her down by foot, confronted her and got her insurance information. She has State Farm and I chose to go with their select program of body shops they partner with. Enter McCurdy body works. They were courteous, did flawless work, and even gave me a ride both when I dropped off the car and before I picked it up! Talk about service! I hope to never need these guys again, but if I do, I know where to go. read more

McCurdys did it again! Bought a car that inherited blemishes on several panels, bad touchups and a broken spoiler, Mike is able to help me out again with reasonable honest rates (I was approached by two mobile body shops in the parking lots - those that say they can fix the body on the same day at your home/office for cheap, if u don't like it don't pay that kinda deal. The prices they gave me are not very much lower than the McCurdys). Again great service. Went above and beyond to help me touchup and ease out blemishes that weren't even on the estimate. The fee schedule is clear and transparent, I was able to get some parts on eBay for less to save a couple of bucks and they worked with me on that ,took the costs out and received the packages just fine. Mike either has a great memory or he just really listens to the customers. He remembered all the details of the job on each panel, what's needed to be done, what my other car needed, what I requested and asked about even though that might have nothing to do with his business. You don't need to remind them anything. You drop it off, the estimate stays the same no games whatsoever (oh we took apart your car and found additional work etc), they are extremely on time, they detail and wash car before you come pick it up. You are getting a five star service from a family owned place that pays attention to detail, without rip off prices like dealer appointed corporate shops where you need to be transferred several times to get to the guy who barely recalls what your job is about - what more can u ask for? Since my wife and I are car enthusiasts I am sure we will be back as we move on to other cars that needed touchups/ repairs in the future. Nobody likes to repair their auto body but this is one place to transform that negative experience into a positive one read more

Several years ago I damaged the rear panel on my Highlander, and when I took it to McCurdy, Matt popped it back into place (for free!) and said I didn't need the expense of body work. I vowed that if ever I truly did need it, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Unfortunately, that day arrived with my Subaru when I lost a fight with a low brick wall. They gave me what I considered a reasonable estimate, and in four days my car was back, looking good as new. You can't even tell where I crumpled the front bumper and then managed to scrape up the rear too. They even washed the car!! And gave me a ride to the rental car agency! Although I hope never to need their services again, I would never consider going anywhere else. Great value for the money, and the people there are so nice. My son was rear-ended at a light in my car - thankfully he was ok but my car needed a whole new trunk lift, bumper and muffler. McCurdy's was recommended to us and we are so glad to have found it. The other person's insurance covered the whole thing so the cost was not an issue but I'm all about customer service and this place has got it. Great communication, very professional and when we picked the car up it was so, so clean and the work was top notch. I took my '03 Accord in to get the front bumper replaced. Mike McCurdy was able to give me a quick estimate and even a couple of different options as to how I wanted to get it fixed. I scheduled an appointment with them, and they gave me a time estimate that they kept to. This may seem like nothing special, but as far as car places go, for McCurdy to be able to give me an accurate estimate and an accurate time table is, I think, a rarity in the car repair industry. The pricing they gave me was on the lower scale of all the other places I had called about the same job. Not only that, they were able to give me a ride back after dropping off my car, and when I picked up my car, they had done an impressive cleaning to the inside and outside of my car. My new front bumper looks great, and the cleaning job made my car feel like new. All the staff were super friendly and helpful as well. I agree with the other reviews that talk about how they go above and beyond the usual service. Word of advice: be sure to book them in advance because they do many repairs, and won't take your car in until they know they have the time to fix it right. read more

My car looks brand new again. I brought my 2005 Honda Accord due to mini ding on the driver side, but the paint chipped due to the ding. Scrape on the back bumper. I was so impressed with McCurdy. My Honda Fit needed the trunk latch replaced and I was quoted almost 900.00 at the dealership. I took my car to McCurdy and spent a little over 300.00 dollars. Amazing! My Mother-n-Law recently lost the passenger side mirror, damaged the door handle and received a scratch along the side of the door on her 2013 Acura, when a parked car opened their door as she was driving by. I began searching for a body shop with good ratings and that dealers entrusted their cars to. After reading McCurdy's reviews I was sold this is the place. We took her car for an estimate and pointed out a few additional areas where her car needed some touch ups. McCurdys said they would try to help out the other areas since they would be matching the paint. I requested that they let us know the how much extra beyond the $1000 deductible she would owe to correct all the other exterior defects. We left the car with McCurdy's and they jumped on right on it. We called the next day and they said there would be no extra charge for the additional exterior work. I found that hard to believe and just assumed they would just try to polish out some of the other exterior issues. They finished the work in 5 days and when we picked up her Acura, it looked like a brand new car! The front ABS bumper spoiler was dented severely from curb impact and paint was scuffed down to primer and it looked like new now! We asked several times how much we owed and they said only the $1000 deductible! McCurdy's has been around for many years and I can see why and hope they're around for many more years. I highly recommend them and suggest that you consult them immediately before you submit the accident report to your insurance agent, because they can save you much grief and ensure that you receive what you car deserves. read more

This is the greatest body shop on the planet! McCurdy was first recommended to me by a friend who refurbishes collectible cars, and I have had three occasions to use their services since, the most recent being just a month ago. I still did due diligence at first and got estimates from other body shops. McCurdys was the most professional and the most reasonable, and they presented me with all the options so I could make an informed decision. I wouldn't even waste my time going elsewhere again. I have two older Mercedes that had problems with the front bumbers sagging on one end and smaller cosmetic problems with nicks and paint that I just wanted spruced up. One car had been rear-ended - it was a light bump and you could hardly tell except that the trunk had difficulty closing. Both cars now look practically new, and the trunk closes fine. They have proven over and over that they are good at what they do -- body repair -- but a place can be good at what they do and still not provide a pleasant experience. That is NOT McCurdy's. The staff there must actually LIKE their jobs, because from Karen (at the front desk) to Matt to Mike -- actually every staff person who enters the office -- they are friendly, greet you, and are so very accommodating! They actually enjoy providing good service and are proud to see that they please their customers. I once even brought my dog with me when I dropped off a car, planning to walk my dog home. When I realized I was shorter on time than I thought, they drove both me and my dog home! I have also had occasion to just call them for advice, and they always take time to speak to me over the phone, no matter how involved my issue. I've found them to give sound advice on what to do. I've taken their advice on referrals for mechanical repair that have been stellar! Excellent people, excellent service, excellent body repair. I took my BMW there to get an estimate for some body work before turning the car back in to the dealer. McCurdy gave me an estimate for $650. When I took the car to BMW to get their estimate of the damage, the number was $400. Since when does a private body shop charge more than the actual dealer? I have no doubt that they do good work, but if your insurance company is not paying for the damage, then I would get an estimate somewhere else or try to get their number down because I think that they charge too much. read more
