Update: this is a follow up as my previous experience was take out and didn't go so well. The owner reached out and i promised I'd be back to try an in house meal. It's an entirely different experience and i think i wont do reviews just from take out any more because this place is amazing. Better interaction with the server than most places very friendly and helpful with specials (cajun catfish taco) and cool drinks. An inquiry revealed the "most popular taco by far" is the pork belly and it did not disappoint. Fresh made hibiscus tea: on point not sweet with the perfect blend of flavors Chips and salsa: excellent smoky red salsa - my opinion is that the salsa is the #1 determination of the quality of food and this was very nice Pork belly taco: it's like bacon but with substance i can see why it's popular. The exact opposite of having a salad. If your date goes vegan on you this is the go to to keep the earth on its axis. Mexican street corn: i have to say this is probably the best I've had. Comes in a bowl cooked to get a little caramelization on it. Absolutely perfect. Likewise if your date orders the pork belly, this is your go-to Quick note they are having a special if you order a big gift card you get free margs for a year

McDevitt is my favorite local option for both creative tacos and comfort food! I love the variety of ingredients and different items on the menu. They often rotate out taco flavors and other things like drinks. My favorites are the shrimp taco, street corn bowl, and definitely the S'mores Quesadilla! This is a must get and awesome on those cold snowy Boulder nights. They have lots of drinks and the servers are friendly. It's a nice feel inside and you can sit and the bar, tables, or outside. It gets busy but I've never waited too long. Very good sauce and the kitchen folks are always nice!

Chips, queso and salsa were quite good. Chicken dilla was filling. Unique setup and grab a beer while there!

After running our Saturday errands, my husband and I only had one goal. We wanted to eat tacos and have a marg on a patio. We live in Gunbarrel and we're rarely on this side of town so I googled "Mexican restaurant with patio" and McDevitt was the closest to us. We were welcomed and sat immediately at a table outside. Both of the servers that helped us were great and attentive. The taco options were creative and everything we tried was delicious. My favorite was the beer braised beef taco. My husband loved the chimichurri. The star of the meal was the jalapeno green chile margarita. Everyone claims to have a spicy margarita, but they're never truly spicy. This is a delicious and legitimately spicy margarita! I absolutely loved it. The other margs we tried were great too! This is definitely going to be a regular spot for us now. The service, food and drinks were all fantastic. My only request is to pleeeease offer a side of rice and beans on your menu!

Stopped here for tacos after going to Portal Thermaculture behind Sanitas Brewing. Split four tacos with my husband - Chipotle peach chicken, slork, beer braised beef, and thunder taco. The beer braised beef was definitely my favorite with the pickled onions and cabbage - all of the other ones were good but I felt it was missing something, maybe more seasoning? The meats themselves were all moist and overall tasty. The tacos were pretty reasonably priced too, between $4.25 - 5.75. The stand is right outside on the patio of Sanitas and was a very quick turnaround on food. Good spot!

A swing through every year and always love this place... the dry rub wings are great and I always enjoy a couple tacos... the caso seemed thicker that what I remembered... house margarita... yum 4.3 stars

What a great find! I visited for lunch with a couple of colleagues as this was the closest restaurant with gluten free options. It's tucked away in an aging shopping center but has a very cute atmosphere and decor inside! The menu is pretty simple, and I was told nearly all items are gluten free/celiac safe aside from beer battered items and the fryer is not dedicated GF. I got the chorizo taco and chimichurri taco and both were delicious, as was their house Yerba mate. Quick and friendly service, too!

Stopped in at 2pm for a couple tacos because I was in the area. About half the tables were full, the music was upbeat and there was a nice background chatter. I appreciate the wifi so I can get some work done in this sweet space. The waitress had a wonderful laugh and the owner personally told me about his special - pork verde. A local farm had too many green tomatoes, so he took them all, slow roasted them, cooked the pork separately, then brought all the ingredients together. He described it as "It's better the next day" kind of sauce. They were like soft pork chop cubes covered in warm bright salsa. I almost thought it was tomatillo, but it was so much better. (BTW - I love green tomatoes.) Tortillas are the 6" corn kind. The onions were bright but not too much and the tiny tortilla chips on top added a nice crunch. These tacos remind me that that tacos don't need to have more than a few ingredients to be delicious. They are so much better here than what I try to make at home, it's totally worth it. Also, the happy hour is 3-5pm with pork, kale or chicken tacos for $3.50 and a Sanitas Lager for $5 (and lots of other options) but happy hour is for dine-in only. And, when I found out that McDevitt all started as a taco truck, I just want to support them in this Boulder restaurant endeavor even more. P.S. They still have their taco truck for catering events.

Even better, there were seats available at the chef's counter. I'm sure the dinner hour is a more intense experience, but we walked into a peaceful, beautiful space at 2:15pm. There were a few people in the bar, otherwise the restaurant was empty except for our two seats at the chef's counter with a great view of the kitchen. It felt like the restaurant was closed and just serving the two of us. Cozobi is the Zapotec god of maize and agriculture which is certainly appropriate for a restaurant focused on authentic masa. Outside there's a long, secluded patio. You enter to the lobby of an office building, then go left into Cozobi. There's an elegant bar in front, the dining room in the middle, then the comfortable chef's counter and kitchen in the rear. We started with two items from the happy hour menu: Taco Dorado with wild mushrooms, queso Chihuahua, and guacachile (a green sauce made from chilis and onions) and Ceviche de Huachinango with red snapper and smashed avocado served tostada-style on an authentic tortilla. The mushroom taco was amazingly savory with absolutely delicious flavors that melded perfectly. The ceviche was good, but I'm not a fan of Chef Curiel's extremely hard tortillas. There were too many small bits on the tostada to pick it up without everything falling off and it was impossible to cut. We finally scraped off the ceviche and then broke up the tortilla to eat separately. Next we went to the dinner menu with the Callo de Hacha al las Brasas, Fall River scallops, serrano ponzu, tomato butter, and chives. I've had this before and it was as beautiful and delicious as ever. The small scallops were cooked perfectly. The Taco de Pastor came with Sakura pork collar, recaudo rojo (a tomato, onion, and garlic sauce), charred pineapple, and salsa verde cruda (a tomatillo sauce). Again, beautiful to look at and very savory, tender, and delicious. Finally we went for the Huachinango a la Veracruzana, Baja red snapper in an olive tomato broth with roasted lemon rice. OMG, the broth was amazing. A perfectly cooked piece of fish with wonderful flavors and a delightful dish of rice to accompany the fish. Cozobi offers dessert and we finished with a picture-perfect tres leches cake, swimming in a luscious sauce. I just love trying lots of different tastes and this menu is well-organized to provide that. Six dishes were the perfect amount of food and we left very satisfied. The very charming Asia provided great service while also busy in the kitchen. A few of the servers assisted from time-to-time. Everything ran like clockwork. My girlfriend enjoyed herself and we were both very impressed.

The restaurant itself is beautiful and the beautiful bar is the centerpiece of this gorgeous restaurant. The atmosphere is a lovely combination of elegance and dining comfort. The waitstaff is beautifully trained, and everyone who works here seems to be very proud of the food and ambiance. We started with a tuna crudo which was one of the stars of the meal. The tuna was delicious and the broth was heavenly. We ordered pork taco and a beef taco, both so tasty. For our entree, we had the snapper in tomato broth. I'm still thinking about it! As soon as you know you're going to Boulder, book a reservation. Even is all you can get is an 8:45, take it! This was without a doubt the best dining experience we enjoyed in Boulder. My only regret is that I didn't book at least 3 meals here during our stay! I won't make that mistake again! Cozobi Fonda Fina is simply that good!

I was alone and sat at the bar. Ordered a beer and was greeted to complimentary chips and salsa. Score! Before I even get into the food, the server (I believe her name is Mia) was SO nice. Friendly, hospitable, and warm. To the point where she deserves a dedicated shout out in this review! Food wise, I went with the three pack of tacos. These are street tacos and very small. For $16.50 I was really hoping for something more filling. These were three bites each. Itty bitty tacos are fine when you're paying a buck or two, but for a restaurant setting I felt like I needed more umph! Having said that, they were very good. In order from best to worst, I'd rank them carnitas, pastor, and asada. The former two had really great flavors and the meat was tender. The asada was chewier than I would've liked, but still a solid rotation of tacos. I like that they are served with onion and cilantro, and that the salsa and crema are served on the side. These provided a kick and were necessary for the tacos. All in all, it made for a great bite. I just wish it was a more substantial bite! Would love to come back here with some people to try more of the menu and get drinks at the bar. Keep on shredding!

This response only further speaks to the poor service, lack of professionalism, and genuinely bizarre experience I had at Shreddy's. We took the opportunity to join in. The staff was welcoming and one of our favorite tables out on the patio was available. We started with drinks and though they were out of my husband's favorite beer, the one they suggested worked just as well. We started with a collection of small plates and added some other ones too. I liked their take on gazpacho with crunchy bits of toasted sourdough and micro cilantro on top. Give me cilantro on anything and I am always happy. I know this is not universal though, so know that it is in there. My husband had the tuna crudo taco plate, 3 tacos on blue corn tortillas. He also had a dish of rice and beans to supplement the taco plate. I think I would have that taco plate myself next time though I always have enjoyed the grilled fish tacos I had again this time. The yellow corn tortillas are grilled which gives them extra stability to build your own taco with a bowl full of ingredients. I love that I can use as much or as little of the collection on each tortilla. Note, tonight the cauliflower bites were very, very spicy but not the rest of the slaw. And to top the meal off just perfectly, we had the churros yet again. Their preparation makes this dish one of our favorite desserts in Boulder. A nice time for a nice cause.
