Placed a mobile order well before this place closes. I pull up to the drive through to see that placed a sign they closed at 1130pm for maintenance but clearly couldn't be bothered to have that reflect in the app. So now I'm charged for a meal I can't even receive. Nowhere to complain on the app and I can see the workers walking around. I knock on the drive window to get their attention and they see me and choose to just ignore me instead of having a convo and chatting with me to get a refund. Honestly screw this location. I won't be back. Also would like to add that I finally got one of the workers to come to the window and explained to her the situation. She told me to go away and request a refund on the app. The app won't let you cancel the order after it thinks it's being prepared and specifically states you have to request a refund through the store which the employee refused. Talk about a total lack of incompetence and idiocy at this store. read more

I went to this McDonald's for a long time, the service was great and professional and the food was pretty good. Until one day, a shady character who identified himself as the manager but wore no nametag decided to cause problems. I walked in and ordered a coffee with a coupon. Their server was saying weird stuff like, "Server connection error," according to the employee. I was polite. informed them that the issue was on their end. And they were able to correct the issue. When I returned for a coffee refill. The supposed manager said "Could you do something about your body odor, dude! You reek!" Needless to say, I was mortified by his unprofessional behavior. I told corporate to fire him ASAP. I returned about a month later for a quick cup of coffee with my mother. A shady Mexican dude named Wilson decided to harass me when I was adjusting my boot. "YOU HAVE TO WEAR SHOES IN HERE!" "Yeah ok thanks. I am" "WELL YOU WEREN'T!" He continued to harass us for several minutes until we got up to leave. At one point, I ordered him to stop following me, and he replied that "he was filming us the whole time." ... So beware! The employees who work here not only don't respect your privacy, but have a specific fetish for videotaping people who are trying to enjoy their meals. When one orders from McDonald's, one does not have great big expectations. I have ordered from this location twice and both times they have given me no sauce (even when I ask, "hey, is the sauce in the bag?" And they say yes). They also have not given me straws (not a big deal usually, but when I'm drinking a slush?). I stopped here for a late lunch today because this location is close to where I work. By the time that I arrived at around 3pm there were about six customers seated inside of the dining room. I used the mobile app to place my order, and it was prepared and ready or me to pick up in less than five minutes. I went for the Big Mac and small fries. The fries were spot on this time, and considering that a small fries now costs nearly $3.00, I'm glad that there was some improvement in the quality of the food, at least at this location. The Big Mac taste good also! What was annoying to me was the elderly female employee who was going around in circles inside of the dining rooms sweeping by customers' feet. Including mine. Does McDonald's not understand that sweeping near where there is food, and people are eating eat will kick up dust and particles into their food? This Mcdonald's is doing something shady. Unlike other mcdonald's in the area. This location is charging customers almost $8.00 for a 20pc nuggets. Every other location they're like $5.49 or $6 tops. Why are they $8 here? I didn't go inside so I can't say how clean the location is. The parking lot looked clean though. I did notice a ton of the towing signs everywhere in the parking spaces. So be very careful parking more then 30min here which is kinda ridiculous. You get your food then it's like your on a timer and you have to rush eating or get towed. WoW.... The ordering process on the drive-thru was simple and the "cash" cashier was friendly. The line did move a little slow. Also noticed they hate giving out cups of water here when I asked for a cup of water the "food" cashier seemed mad and kept saying we don't give out water. I don't know why because every other location does without issue. Already had ordered a soda. But wanted a cup of water also. Upon getting the food. It was fresh & piping hot. Had to wait like 10min on the drive-thru though but the food was fresh & hot. Weird looking nuggets though. The fries were however not fully cooked so just discarded them which is ridiculous because they were more expensive here too. CORP really needs to research this location or something. By 12:45 I was having those lunch hunger pains, so I drove over here to try out their $5.00 promotion that they just started. It includes a McDouble or McCracken sandwich, small French fries, and a medium sized drink. Then I remembered from just a few short years ago, some of the promotions that they used to offer. It used to be 2 McChicken sandwiches for just $2.00. I seemed to recall the McDouble costing somewhere in the neighborhood of $1.00. That being said, I began to reconsider if the $5.00 was a real value at all. I decided to pay a few dollars more for the Big Mac Combo meal, because the Big Mac is a much better sandwich. Plus the combo included a medium fries and medium soft drink. I found a place to sit at one of the few comfortable chairs that this place has. The rest of the tables have those hard chairs, to ensure customers don't get too comfortable and stay too long. The Big Mac and fries were good! read more

Is my first review of 2020 really going to be a McDonalds? Why yes, new year, same me! As I try to incorporate more healthy choices into my life there's still nothing more tempting to me than the delicious rush of flavors from fast food! I've been to this location a few times now just using the drive-thru, and have had a great experience every time. Two of the times they had an employee with a tablet right before the usual ordering menu/speaker to take your order which is something I've never seen before but I'm guessing is good for when there's a longer line. I've been through the drive-thru for both breakfast and a few dinners and every time the employees have been friendly at both windows. My food has also be hot and every order correct each time. Fast food service is a stressful job so I really appreciate that this location always gets it right. Even when it's busy and I have to wait a little bit longer I still am satisfied with my food. Already looking forward to my next happy meal! read more

The pricing is all screwed up. Went through the drive thru at this location, ordered a #4 with cheese and a small orange juice , and received a total of. $9.48. I didn't want the meal because I just went to a McDonald's the previous day, ordered the same meal and no it was $8 something . Got out of the drive thru and walked in because I wanted to know about the price change , ordered the same meal inside , got another price of $10.63 . I asked why 2 different prices for the same meal and the young lady stated that drive thru has a different price, the kiosk has a different price and the counter has a different price . Not accommodating at all.. UNACCEPTABLE. Same establishment, should be same price . Very disappointed that the McDonald's corporation is over charging ppl for food. Went to grab an iced coffee this morning and had fantastic service from the drive through. Both employees I interacted with were so pleasant to talk to first thing in the morning. Giving 3 stars because the iced coffee was horrible. Way too much cream, it honestly tasted like I was drinking milk. This McDonald's has the friendliest drive through employees! Usually at McDonald's I feel like they are going through the motions and don't care at all about interaction. At this location I always get told "have a blessed day," and it makes a big difference! The drive through is a bit tricky to get into but once your there the service is fast and good. You guys have to remember that you're eating at a McDonald's. You're going to get McDonald's quality food. That being said, this location doesn't have some secret ingredient to make all the food taste better than other places. It tastes the same. What I do like about this place is that it's not as busy, but they still manage to have fresh fries 4 out of 5 times. The workers here are really nice, but they all seem quite bored. Whatever. They'll take your order quickly and get it to you just as fast. There's very minimal wait time involved. This is for eating in. I've only used the drive thru once, but my experience was very similar. The restaurant is extremely clean which is probably what makes this location stand out most in my mind. The tables are generally always wiped down and the floors are mopped. Obviously, there have been times where I've seen a dirty table, but they just had crumbs on them. It wasn't a huge mess that I couldn't just clean up myself. The soft drink machine area is less clean, but in better condition than a lot of other places I've been. The floor around there will be stickier, but that's understandable. This location definitely looks newer. You'll get a mix of a bunch of different kind of people here, which always makes for good people-watching. I buy the same bacon egg and cheese Bagel using the APP which is normally BOGO. And depending on where I buy it (Fx Cty/Arl Cty) the price varies about .05 cents, The total cost is normally around $4.28 with tax. This place had a price of $6.54 for the same thing. Yes Alexandria City has a higher tax but no way is it that different. The other McDonalds I visit are on the same Rte1- 1 mile north and 1 mile south. My guess is that this location has mucher higher prices on all of their products. Or in my case for the same thing at this location they are charging $5.99 where the others are at $3.99. The best McDonalds I've been to in a long time. I love their service. Quick and easy. The touch screen ordering display is convenient. The food is always hot and fresh! Cheap prices! Can't beat it! Just had their new quarter pounder. So amazing. The patty is very juicy. Very flavorful. I used the mobile ordering app. I pulled in and my order came out once i checked in. On the rare occasion it's too late, too early, or I'm way too lazy, I go to this location because it's in the neighborhood. The staff are very nice, and if you're here for breakfast at the drive-thru you will see the same staff every time. It was renovated fairly recently, so is one of the better-looking locations around. However, those are basically the only compliments I have. McDonald's is already generally gross, so it isn't hard to make it inedible. But this shop finds a way, as they have made the trope about fucking up your order into a well-worn tradition. Literally 75% of the time, my uncomplicated order is wrong in some way. Wrong sandwich, wrong condiments, wrong drink, cold fries, missing food, and sometimes entirely someone else's order. Once they fucked up my order 3 times in a row--this happened to be also at the end of a heinous day, and thus was the straw that caused me to ugly cry in frustration while poor BF ran back and forth 4 times to get the correct standard sandwich. If you order extra __, prepare to get none of it. If you order without __, you will get double. I wonder if the drive-thru intercom is some sort of riddle machine that takes your words and then makes anagrams or mad libs... So, do NOT, under any circumstances, pull away from the window/parking lot without thoroughly inspecting your food for error. I mean, if there is a wrapper labeled "cheeseburger" in the bag, open it to make sure it's not a chicken sandwich. No pickles? Don't let the little sticker indicating pickles were avoided on the wrapper fool you--you need to open the actual sandwich lest you bite into a solid patty of pickles you don't like. Did you order a biscuit? Could be a muffin, and you don't want to find out 15 mins later at your place when you're hungry, pissed, and too far away to simply turn back. read more

I remember McDonalds drive thru being very quick. You give your order, you pay at one window, you drive to the next window to pick up your food and you're out. I sat way too long at "the next window" for a my double quarter pounder with cheese that was so terrible I could not enjoy it, and I could take it back since I'd been out all day and was settled in. The meat was dry and a little hard around the edges, there was NO lettuce, the pickle was rubbery, there was a dime size of sauce on the "meat". It tasted like a dusty burger. No taste at all!! I basically paid 7.00 for two pieces of bread and 2 dried hamburger patties. I don't eat McDonalds often. I was so disappointed. I hadn't eaten all day. I was waiting ALL day for that sandwich. Did the quality of the food go down?? I know it's only McDonalds but you want what you're craving...you want it to taste good, especially if you're paying for it! Came into town late on a business flight and ordered from McDonalds. My colleague also ordered, but used her Uber Eats app. My colleague received her order in less than 15 minutes. I waited over 2 hours and kept getting messages that it was taking longer than expected. When I finally called the customer service number, they said that they had a status of "undelivered" and they would have to cancel the order. They said that I should make sure to confirm the delivery address next time. I told them I was waiting in the lobby for the delivery with my colleague, who had no issues getting hers delivered. Long story short, everything is closed now, haven't eaten anything since 4am and now almost 24 hours later, going to sleep without food... thanks GrubHub....oh ya and thanks for returning my money to my account in 3 business days.... If I could give zero stars I would . This is the second time I've come to this place and the drive through has been backed up with cars. when I got to the first speaker no one said anything , so when the line moved I moved , then I hear them ask me for my order but I'm already between the boxes . Then I sat there for a while and no one moved so I walked inside to see that the place is empty . There are lots of people behind the counter but only one cashier . And she is waiting on one person while also being asked questions by someone else about an order. After standing there a while I left because they're couldn't even seem to handle a line of four people inside . Whomever is managing this place should be fired. I have never reviewed a Micky D's so that should count for something. This spot is the queen mother of all NOVA McDonald's. Its only downfall is no 24-hour drive-through. The woman who works the drive-through is the Bill Gates of fast food, this woman is RUNNING TINGZ. She never messes up. She keeps it moving. And she is always friendly, offering up a "good morning" or "come again." On days when Welshie had to drive me into work (he's not a morning person), sometimes the sweet whisper of "McDongles" (as he calls it) was the only thing to get him to pop out of bed. Their biscuits are fluffy, their fries are always fresh and for some reason their Diet Coke tastes better than the rest. read more

Absolutely the most chaotic, disorganized McDonalds I've ever been to. It is literally a food stop of last resort when I just need something quick to balance out one to many skipped meals. Its also a real pain to get into from NB Route 1. My real issue with this place (beyond the disorganization) is the fact its extremely difficult to place even the simplest of orders. I speak 2 languages in addition to English, but I shouldn't have to go learn Spanish too just to order a Big Mac, fries, an iced coffee and understand what the cashier is saying to me. I eat a lot of international cuisine; I'm very comfortable with dealing with folks from other cultures but walking into a McDonalds on Rt 1 in Alexandria, VA is it really too much to expect to converse in comprehensible English? I think we sat at the food pickup window for close to 10 minutes waiting for a 10-piece chicken nugget and small fry.
