The only thing this McDonald's has going for it is that it's clean. That's about it. The employees were disgruntled, and struggled to take a simple order correctly. Literally, it went a little something like this: No greeting. The hubs and I walk up the counter. "Two number 3 combos please." "Huh? What? You want the combo or just the sandwich?" Bia I told you two combos!!!! "Are y'all two together?" "Yes, I just ordered for two people. I know it's difficult since we are two different races, yet still standing awfully close to each other, and wearing wedding rings and all, but yes." Blank stare. "$12.56." We pay, and we continue to stand there waiting. "What?" "Our cups please? We did order COMBOS...." Angry glare as we still stand there. She passes us our cups, and we find a seat. We wait a long while for our food even though it's not that crowded. We watch people go back to the counter saying they didn't get their drink cups, Mcflurries, or apple pies. Once our food arrives, we realize just how much of a mistake this was. The food is tasteless. I remember McDonald's having halfway decent fries. Nope, they were completely tasteless. That burger... *shudders*. I mean I used to eat this stuff in law school. $3 bucks can get you a whole meal! Unfortunately for me, I can see this McDonald's from my house. Or fortunately, since living so close means I rarely want to actually go there. However, every once in a while I get the craving for some Chicken Selects, or some good greasy breakfast. I agree with Courtney - 90% of the time my order is totally right because the same woman has been working the drive through for at least the 3 1/2 years since I first moved in. Her English isn't perfect, but she's got the drill down cold, and its rarely messed up. I disagree with Courtney on the 24 hour drive thru thing, because that would seriously hamper my efforts to stay away as often as possible. When I have to drive to Crystal City to satisfy the 3am french fry craving, I'm FAR more likely to ignore it. I don't particularly like going inside. Call me what you will, but the men from the shelter across the street that hang out there bother me enough that I will drive my car out of the parking garage, less than a block over, and go through the drive through. For the most part they either ignore me or are super nice, but I had one uncomfortable run in and its just turned me off to the idea ever since. Plus, its not always super clean inside, especially around the drink fountain, and I'd just rather not see it. The only real negative I've experienced about this McDonald's, besides that nasty feeling I always get after I eat McDonald's, but really, it was yummy when I ate it... is the salads have more often than not been made on a bed of just yuck lettuce. So I don't get those anymore. And sometimes the hash browns and Chicken Selects are just a bit overfried. But otherwise, can't really complain! read more

Let's be clear: it's McDonald's. This is not Grade-A cuisine, here. I normally give Micky D's a 3-star review because of the generally unhealthy food (which, btw, they've come a LONG LONG way since I was a child...there is actual fruit on the menu, and Hi-C is still an available drink. Don't look at me like that, Hi-C is delicious!) I came here as a result of low blood sugar. In a pinch, McDonald's never disappoints (unless there's some systemic lack of care going on, but I'm not on about that here). This place is CLEAN. The floor wasn't sticky, and it was well lit. FOX News was on a few televisions (but I wasn't watching), the fact is that there was news at all. It didn't smell like an extension of an unclean bathroom, it smelled of sizzling burger-like meat product, and fries. Exactly what it SHOULD smell like. I goofed on my order. I was distracted and ordered something I didn't like. I didn't double-check my order, and it wasn't until I sat down that I discovered it. I contritely approached the counter and acknowledged MY mistake. I should have paid more, but the manager was very nice about the $0.50 difference. I got the sandwich I wanted, with little confusion. It was hot, cheesy, and fixed my anemia. The customer service in this location is STRONG. Downside: FOX News was on the television. I'm not holding that against the shop itself. read more

I just want to say I'm not a fast food kind of girl, but I stopped here for a drink and ordered my brother a snack wrap. Not only was I rushed off the speaker but once I paid I was greeted by a less than stellar member of the team , in fact both her and the manager were discussing something completely pointless, I was not asked what condiments I needed or anything. After I was given my order the staff member rolled her eyes and made a comment to her manager which further disappointed me . Wait for it, I opened up my brothers sandwich and it was complete crap. I do not have to many high expectations for this place but the crap I was given was a joke look at it for yourself ! After reading the reviews, we were expecting some kind of horror fest when we came here - and were kind of excited to see how dysfunctional it was. But we were disappointed. I didn't see any clientele that struck me as creepy or sketchy, the place was clean, and the servers spoke perfect English. The only negative about the place was that the line took a looooong time. There were 3 people in front of us and it took forever, which is not usually a McDonald's-level efficiency. Still, this place had two flat screen TVs, a bizarre middle seating area that had banquet tables and was architecturally very ugly, and a drive thru that seemed to move much faster than the line inside. My mcnuggets and fries were delicious as always. Other than slow lines, not too many complaints and I'm not sure if it deserves the 2 stars that it currently has on yelp. This is now my closest McDonalds so I will certainly be back. read more

Seriously, this place scares me half to death. First off, shame on me for even going to McDonald's, but sometimes you gosta have them McNuggets! I will echo what's been shared by others. I live in Old Town, so unless I feel like driving to Crystal City or the edge of Del Ray, this is the closest McDuck's around. That said, I actually drive to the one on Glebe now if I have a craving because this McDonald's is just creepy. It's not racism, but since this particular location is right by a homeless shelter and up the street from Chapter 8 housing, you can imagine the "clientele" that frequent the place. I've been yelled at, like, "Hey, white boy!" and watched the regulars/loiterers basically sexually harass every woman who comes into the place. I genuinely feel for people struggling with their station in life, but that doesn't mean it doesn't adversely affect my dining experience or that I should have to put up with the sort of shenanigans and atmosphere found at this McDonald's. I should have been tipped off by the fact that a sign hangs on the wall limiting diners to 25 minutes to eat their food and leave. That rule is clearly not enforced in any way. So when I want McDonald's, I waste the gas to go up to West Glebe and have a far more "normal" experience. I would tell you to avoid the McDonald's in Old Town, but I think everyone needs to experience it at some point and hopefully pressure management to fix things. read more

Is there any difference from one McDonalds to the next??? Yes! Some are horrible, some are more costly, some are hangouts and some are a great experience with quality (as much as expected) fast food. But this particular McDonalds...I don't know what they're trying to achieve? First, a lot of indigent people & teens hang out here, but this has to be the most pricey McDonalds I've seen!!! Just by going to McDonalds, I'm violating a personal rule. And now I'm breaking a second - not to write a review of a fast food joint. But I can't stop myself. I ducked into this McDonalds to get out of a monsoon-like rain yesterday afternoon, walking from the Braddock Rd Metro to my office off Slaters Lane. After ten minutes in this place, I decided that getting soaked was a better alternative. This McDonalds is across the street from a homeless shelter. Use your imagination to drum up the characters that result because of this. I ended up getting a Coke and sittling at a table and the chaos in the place was out of control: Loud homeless gentlemen, talking profanities and acting drunk; twentysomethings at the table behind me yelling at the tops of their lungs about their newest Facebook friends; and an employee trying her best to mop the floor, despite the crowds inside. Tip: Why not worry about cleaning the tabletops first? Not one table was clean. The ordering process was dysfunctional to the max. They were more attentive to people in the Drive-through line. So people who braved the rain to come inside had to wait longer than those in the drive-through line. None of the ice makers were working. No napkins. No straws. No shakes. I actually felt like a shake yesterday, and this McDonalds is "shakeless." Every so often I need to visit a place like this to remember why I gave up on McDonalds long ago. But this is the ONLY fast food option in this part of Old Town. The Wendys on North Washington Street closed (a bank took its place - just what we need, another bank). Service was fine , lady cashiers saying have a blessed day and all , but wow like on schedule 5 hours later I start having twinges of a headache. 1e hours later, I'm fully incapacitated in bed. Even though my last experience was terrible, I foolishly returned - this time at 1:30am on a Saturday night. Although the sign says drive-through is open until 2am, no one answered. I stuck around to watch a dozen cars wait and then pull away until an employee finally got tired of hearing the bell and turned the lights off (at 1:45am). What amazes me is that lazy, incompetent employees such as these expect $12 an hour. McDonald's is a joke. Wanted to give this McDonald's high marks...great service, friendly service, newly remodeled, clean...but the flies. I'm talking the worst I've ever seen...including in the Middle East. Luckily, they left me alone while I ate, but where are your air curtains and other preventive measures if you have that bad of a problem? Yes they have WiFi and TVs. That makes me happy. The fact that they struggle to take your order correctly is problematic. I never expect too much from McDonald's. But I do expect fresh fountain drinks. This location did not disappoint. Making fresh tea was a good sign. The food took longer than expected to be delivered. There is a lot of construction in the area, so this is a very busy location for lunch Monday - Friday. I wanted to review just to say that the employees here are extremely hard workers. The restaurant will be almost bursting at the seams with people (mostly construction workers) and the employees manage to get the orders out quickly and accurately. read more

I've been going to this Mc Donalds for the past 4 years. It used to be my favorite McDonalds. The food was always fresh and the fries were always up to par. The customer service was always exceptional. Unfortunetly, recently, they got rid of all the spanish workers and have brought in a new crew. Sadly, the food now, is not as fresh or hot and customer service went out the window. :( Bring back the old crew!!!! read more

Seriously? How hard is in to get a "to-go" order right? Apparently it's EXTREMELY difficult since I constantly find myself having to go back after they mess something up or forget something in my order. I've learned to check my order before leaving the parking lot and STILL find myself going around the loop again. DONT GO HERE. We went last night they weren't closed yet. We were starving and nothing else was open and they closed in 8 minutes. We were ignored and never greeted. After waiting till they had 5 minutes left we went around (2 cars were behind us) one car put in their order and moved up and the other car drove away after not being greeted. We pulled up with minutes to spare! But they ignored us until 12 exactly. So at 12:02 I told him to pull up to the window to tell them we've been trying to order for 10 minutes! They had shut all the lights off, had everything closed down, and the two employees there were sitting in their cars!!!!!! They should be fired for closing early. I've worked for corporate and you're NEVER suppose to close early or ignore customers until close! The mcds back home will take everyone in the line when they close. This was the worst experience ever as we were so hungry. So we had to drive 10-15 minutes to another mcds unfortunately. On our way back as we passed the mcds the employees were STILL SITTING IN THEIR CARS!!!!!! My wife bought me a grilled chicken club sandwich for dinner tonight. It's the worst sandwich I've had from a McDonalds in a long time. The chicken was hard and it seemed like its been sitting out in the open, under room temperature, before it was grilled and it definitely did NOT smell fresh. I can't believe this McDonalds would do this. We've always gone to this location for years and havre almost never had an issue. There were some screwed-up orders or some missing items but never INEDIBLE food. I threw the rest in the trash after my first bite and would NOT even consider feeding it to our dog. We have made a decision NOT to patronize this location for now until the quality is much improved. Right now, I'm anxiously awaiting when my stomach will start to hurt. do not i repeat do not go to this mcdonalds if your life depended on it because mine did at approx.. 7:00 pm july 26th, 2015 i ordered a specialty sandwich double cheeseburger with big mac sauce and extra onions. onions are made a little crispy so crunching on them and swallowing i didnt think anything of it (you ready for this it was actually little pieces of glass) . but wait theres more as i took a second bite it felt like my tooth fell out or i was crunching on a brick it was a large shard piece of glass in the middle of my burger underneath the meat hidden so to speak. i began to immediately spaze out. i live very far so it took me a while to get back to the mcdonalds. when i arrived i asked to speak to a manager "luis juanes" he ws very rude and hostile he tried to make me out to be a liar claiming he dosent know where the glass came from the kitchen is clean etc. i couldnt communicate with him so the general mangaer came out "carlos mateos" he had a better attitidue about the situation but still no apology or verbal reconcillation was brought up for my almost "death" situation. so many things run through my head im not in the business of eating glass!! yes it was a first and last experience with me as they have scarred me of mcdonalds and fast food places in general. they inconvenienced my time,life and money. negligence on there behalf. this location wasnt professional at all everyone hanging around laughing joking not paying any attention to there job that they get paid to do that tax dollars pay to keep these franchises open. disrespectful i hope this helps to have some public notice to this mcdonalds!!!! do not eat here go to the mcdonalds in crystal city on jefferson davis hwy much cleaner. this was my first choice but i missed my turn "(wrong turn") but as for me no more fast food, dining out. maybe even restaurants in general!!!!!!! smh a damnnn shame. almost died over $5 my life is worth more than this!!! hell my "life matters" "madea voice" dont do itttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hey you've been warned this is my testimony! read more
