This is truly Long Island's most efficient McDonald's. It was 7 years ago when I'd be near this one more - and it is still now. They have to be because people love the location right off the SS Parkway on 5th Avenue in Bayshore. Easy to pull in and easy to get back on the Parkway and lose verrrry little time. Don't touch this place with a 10-foot pole. The bright girl who took our order rung our MEALS up as ALL INDIVIDUAL items and something we DIDN'T ORDER so our bill was way more than it should've been. So we ask for a refund and to be charged for it as MEALS and instead of refunding and recharging as meals they ONLY refunded us for the ITEM WE DID NOT ORDER and DIDN'T CHARGE THE FOOD AS MEALS STILL, BURNING OUR MONEY. This location needs to fire these incompetent late night employees and get some people that can maybe count at least a tiny bit. I am giving it 3 stars because they used to be so much better. Lately, they are constantly forgetting something from the order. It happened a few times so I called and was told they put me on a list and next time I come they will make it up. The next time I was there, I gave my name and they called up a manager who acted like I was nuts. She said she would do it as a "courtesy" but to next time have a receipt. That pissed me off and I handed her the receipt. I informed her that I didn't even call the first times it happened and she said "oh well there's nothing i can do about that. I'm not making up for that". No one said she had to, I was just informing her it wasn't like i was out for a free cheeseburger making up stories. They messed up my order again tonight so I made sure to get a name of the person who assured me I could get a replacement. read more

For families who need a quick McDonald's stop on the way to or back from the Fire Island Ferry (going to Kismet, Saltaire, Fair Harbor, or Dunewood), I would recommend the location of this clean, bright facility. Conveniently located just north of the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Southern State Parkway, it has a drive-thru and ample parking for dining in. We stopped here after taking the early morning ferry (7:30am) from Fire Island to pickup Egg McMuffins before a long drive back through NYC and over into New Jersey. The exit from this McDonald's drive-thru leads you right to the westbound entrance of the Southern State Parkway, which places you just before the Sagitkos Parkway exit. read more

To put it simply, today ruined this McDonald's. I found a black bug-sized thing floating in my Sprite after I already drank it, and when I went back in it took several minutes to get a hold of someone because nobody was working the register. They forgot all of the sauces I requested and didn't even give me a drink cup for my order when I paid. I think this place really needs extra attention to the customer if they're able to hire more people. It's only okay on their best days. read more

This is a full-service location with a complete menu. The dining room is clean and bright. As this is a relatively new location, the counter service could be better. However, it is quick and the food, for fast food, is good. This location opened as Hurricane Sandy and Winter Storm Athena came through the area and they were one of the few locations in the area that had electricity. The staff performed fantastically in a difficult situation. So, a hearty "Thanks" for that! read more

There are three mcdonalds around my area and this one by far is the best.. The food is fresh and the price for my usual iced coffee is cheaper than what i pay at the other locations they also have the sauce i like where as the others do not even carry it .. This is the WORST mcdonalds on long island and i've lived here for 18 years. They recently got it rebuilt, but you would've thought the service would improve as well. WRONG. I went through the drive thru with a simple order, two bacon mcdoubles only ketchup and bacon, no cheese. I paid and got my food. I open the bag to find two sandwiches with cheese. I check my receipt and it says no cheese ... so why did my order have cheese ?? I go inside to get it corrected, i wait at the register for 10 minutes until someone bothered to ask what the problem was. He grabs my food and tells the grill. I move over to the side and wait another 10 minutes for my CORRECT order. There were plenty of workers just standing around doing nothing. I wouldn't come back here even if you paid me. Being a former mcdonalds employee i understand the stress and environment, but it shouldn't take that long. Take my advice and just settle for wendys. read more

Wish I didnt have to pick a star!!!!!! So lets just start by saying I work late nights usually get out late and end up stopping here on my way home and no matter if you are the only car in the drive thru or a line of cars behind you you can wait anywhere from 10-45 mins for food. This place is obviously poorly managed during the night time hours if there is only 3 people scheduled to work and a 45 min wait tonight.I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IN MCDONALDS KITCHEN COULD TAKE THAT LONG? SO I WILL! After waiting all this time you would think they could get my simple order correct?!? haha nope i order a number 3 plain with a dr pepper a med coke and 3- 4 piece nuggets and i get about 5 useless bugers with bacon and add mc sauce..gross! but silly me didnt check till i got home cuz i didnt think they could screw so many things up in one night! i was banging on the window because the genius who took my order didnt give me my other drink. When an employee (he said his name was kelly i think) spotted me and asked to help me? and i explained and he said i honestly cant even tell you whats going on i just know management wont be happy tomorrow..and sadly that is the best answer i got all night. Not that it was a bad answer but i could have got a little further with a manager which i think he showed initiative tonight and took charge when a manager couldnt! that says a whole lot and that is a great employee right there and what you should want to see in your management.
