This is quite honestly the most poorly run, unhygienic, and unorganized fast food restaurant I've ever experienced in my entire life. Five friends and myself ordered here today and 0/6 got our order correct. Not only that, I ordered from their "no wait kiosk," waited 15 minutes for my food to come out, only for the workers to inform me that what I ordered was no longer available (thanks for letting me order it in the first place?). I had to order something else to replace it, but they didn't even comp me the difference between the two meals. The fries and chicken nuggets for everyone in the group not only tasted as though they were at least a day old, they were cold. Basic McDonald's. It has definitely gotten way better since the remodel! The kiosk inside makes ordering easy and you can edit your order to your liking. The drive thru is usually pretty quick but can sometimes be a long wait it really depends on which employees are working and if it is tourist season or not. Also when the high school aged kids are working they aren't very good at keeping the place clean so instead of 4 stars I'm only giving them 3 due to not having a clean table to sit at. read more

This place surves food stale and cold. At least half of my food comes cold and stale every time I order here. I have asked the last three times if I can have my food made fresh, each time they say yes, I will wait at least 10 minutes, and then recieve either cold or stale food. When I address this issue with this place they refuse to fix the issues. I would not recommend this place as you will spend a good deal of time waiting for stale and cold food that wont be replaced. read more

to start, I understand that it is extremely busy around this season but the way the management handled everything was extremely unprofessional and just plain rude. The kiosk system was down so we tried to order at the register and no one even looked our way for about 10 minutes, when the manager ( no name tag) looked at us and asked if we ordered and we said no and he processed to say order at the kiosk and when we brought it to his attention that it was down he said well there's more with an attitude. On top of the rudeness, not once did he wash his hands while working with fries and literally touching everything. Definitely do not recommend this McDonald's, there's a Carl's Jr. across the street that has way better service. read more

After 15 minutes, I Googled the phone number for the store and called asking where my food was. The kid who answered said he'd been "trying to send someone out, but we're just so busy." Okay, so my food's been ready and just sitting on a counter getting cold, for HOW long? Awesome. When I finally got my food, it was cold. So disappointed in this McDonald's. Beware ScamDonalds! MCDs promised a free vanilla cone (~$1.00) to anyone with the MCD app on National Ice Cream Day (7/15). Unfortunately, the app was experiencing problems all day that day (how convenient). The cashier asked her manager if she could just give me the ice cream for free even though the app was not working. The manager said no, even though I clearly had the app on my phone I could not get the free ice cream because I could not log into the app. I have literally spent hundreds, maybe thousands, of dollars at this specific MCDs, and they cannot even give me a $1 ice cream for my 2 year old daughter on national ice cream day? Went to the local McDonald's and ordered two sandwiches. It came to almost $13.00. I ask why it was so high. They answered with "resort prices". I live here and nearly every establishment in big bear gives local discounts. Can't believe they raised all their prices for our tourists and the service isn't any better. I will not be going back. This mcdonalds is very nice. They have the machines on the side that you can order your food then it'll be ready at the counter. This mcdonalds though is more expensive than most McDonald's and there isn't a dollar menu. So if your desperate for mcdonalds this will do and it is always busy. read more

On a regular basis I go to this McDonald's to get hot fudge sundaes, sometimes with a group of friends, other times with just a couple of us. In the last 9 months, the fudge has never been hot, so now I ask before I place my order if it's possible to get the fudge hot (because I don't want to order it if not). Every time the person who rings me up says yes, they will make sure it's hot and every single time, it's not. So I turn it back to them and ask them to warm the fudge first. Today when this happened, the employee, Javier, after rolling his eyes at me, told me that it was the guy's first time making a hot fudge sundae so he didn't know. So Javier took the ice creams back, popped a fudge bag in the microwave, opened the top and and then globbed it over the original sundaes that were sitting there. I asked him to just make it the normal way, and Javier said no, he didn't want to waste the ice cream. I don't want to waste either, but it was your mistake, not mine. He said fine, I'll just refund you. And I said why not just give me what I ordered? If you know you aren't going to be able to make something, remove it from them menu. Educate your employees. Then he made them the correct way and told me I was acting inappropriately and said I'm closing the window now, bye... Javier - word of advice - this is a business. Treat all customers with respect. No order is too trivial or insignificant. Would you serve someone cold fries and say too bad? That is the equivalent! This order wasn't even a special request, it was directly off YOUR menu. Ordered 2 big macs,fries, drink, 2 apple pies, and 1 happy meal for the toy. I could not stress enough that I was allergic to sesame and needed non-sesame buns on my burgers. The girl helping me sounded like the sweetest person in the world, assured me it would have no sesame seeds. She then said the pies would take 10 minutes so I could park and she'd bring the order out to me. I wait for a bit and here she comes! Weeeewwwwwwww! First thing out of her mouth was "Thank you for waiting! And don't worry we didn't use the sesame buns on your big macs *smile winky face smile*" My heart was sincerely warmed up at how attentive and caring this girl was. I got home only to find that my bags only contained the 2 big macs and fries, the 10 minute apple pies were nowhere to be found, neither was the happy meal or its toy. Angry but hungry I said screw it, I pulled the two big mac boxes out of their bags, man this is gonna be good I haven't had a big mac in about 2 years or so. The sweet little angel lied, sitting on those delicious all beef patties was a poisonous sesame seed bun. I quickly checked the second burger and alas it too had sesame buns. You can imagine my rage burning as I threw those tainted burgers full force into my trash can. I found the number for this mcdonalds and called, only to have the person who answered say "whoops, well we can't cook you anything else we're closed now." I know it's just mcdonalds but learning some proper customer service is key to keeping a happy clientele, and saying 'whoops' definitely isn't the correct response. I can understand being unable to fix it, but not offering a fix at a later time or even a refund is acid in the wound. I used to like this McDonald's. I don't know what happened, but after the remodel, it all went downhill. I am a resident of Big Bear, and I used to stop here for lunch during the week. Back then, it was nothing fancy, just standard McDonald's food and experience. They even used to have a few TVs on the walls to keep you entertained. Since the remodel, I HAVE to use the stupid kiosk, which is sometimes broke, sometimes missing the table numbers (so you just make up a number, or else it doesn't let you complete your order), it seems to take forever to get your food, and it is often on the colder side. The kiosk says they will bring the food to your table, but you often have to go get it yourself. The restaurant itself is often an absolute mess. Last visit, I had a hard time just finding a place to eat. There were plenty of open tables, but all were dirty, with trash still on the table, under the tables, etc. The drink area was just as bad, where water kept leaking on my hand as it dispensed soda, and there was trash all over, since the small trash chute was full and overflowing.. There was trash all over the dining room area, full trash cans, and not a single person coming out to clean. I would never eat in my own house if it looked that way, no way am I eating in a restaurant that looks that way. I miss the old McDonald's. It wasn't perfect, but it was better than what this McDonald's has become. read more

This place is such a mess and disorganized . Waiting for my order and I already seen 2 separate orders messed up. A female was given egg mcmuffins when she ordered a bacon egg and cheese . I'm not a McDonald's fan in general, and don't think this is the best McDonald's location, but there's not much open in Big Bear at 6:30 am, so stopped by for a Big Breakfast to go of hot cakes, eggs, hashbrowns and sausage, plus two egg McMuffins; less than $10 and fed family of 4, and kept us going on the slopes til lunch. Never again! Went for a fast food fix....made it all the way home...they got the order wrong ( my fault for not looking). Went back...now my food is cold...the manager on duty said...no problem...I will make it all fresh again...gave her my bag with food and receipt...got it back with correct order....got home and YUCK...I swear they just took my burger bun and re-toasted it so much so that the bread was burned...and stuck the same meat back on the bun! If I could give this zero stars I would. This was the worst McDonald's I have ever seen. The bathrooms were trashed. I decided to go through the drive through, because they wouldn't serve me at the kiosk. They told me I had to order through the computerized program. My drive through experience may be the icing on the cake. I waited 25 minutes for my food while everyone else drove around me. To top it off the chicken tenders were cold, greasy and over fried.
