We tried this place when we arrived at Big Bear, it looked very promising. It was a Friday night and it was empty, the dining area was empty, is seemed like people were ordering to go instead. The girl in the front was very welcoming and nice when she took our order. As for the food, I did not like the sandwich, I ordered the Lumberjack and they gave me some other sandwich. This is definitely a local spot. It's the best sandwiches on the mountain for the best price. The sandwiches are large and tastes so good you can even get squaw bread. I was extremely satisfied with my order and would recommend this for anyone who is trying to meet their protein macros! Side Salad: Light, citrusy, refreshing. The side salad was honestly unremarkable. The vinaigrette wasn't anything necessarily special and the salad included a bunch of lettuce and some tomato slices. It's nice as an add on to help you feel a bit more full but it's nothing to write home about. The line here was long and it took maybe half an hour close to 45 minutes to order and get our food. I've had a lot of Philly cheesesteaks in my life, and unfortunately, the one I had at Munchies in Big Bear was the worst by far. The meat was overcooked and dry to the point that I had to add ketchup just to get some flavor out of it -- something I've never done with a cheesesteak before. The onions were diced too small and not seared long enough, so they lacked that caramelized taste you'd expect. Overall, the sandwich was disappointing and lacked the flavor and texture that makes a good Philly steak. Hoping it was just an off day, but I won't be ordering it again.
