My family and I have lived in Big Bear city for 30 years and this Mc Donalds has its own rules to go by to day my wife and I went through the drive thru. my wife ordered a large ice coffie the sign said any size $2.00 the girl is at the window said it was was $2.99my wife said the sign says $2.00 any size she said there was no sign saying that. I asked her I would to speak to the manager. He came on the speaker said what can I help you with. so I told him we wanted a large ice coffee for $2.00 like the sign says he begain telling us there wasn't any sign saying we told him to come out and see for him self he refused saying he would give it to us for the $2.00 just this time we asked him to come outside again to see there is a sign say that he refused again well Calif law says if you post it you will sell for that price. we pulled to the window to pay and he said this is a resort town we don't follow any of the sale price that the main Mc Donalds sets. He was very rude about this and basically called us liars for reading what there own sign Says. O there there soft drinks are not a dollar like every other Mc Donalds they charge over $ 2.00 Almost $3.00 so no matter what the price is on there own sign says you may not be charge that you will be charge what thay want to charge you. read more

McDonald's is what it is.... so this is not a food review it is a review of the dicey service. They are fast for Big Bear (which is in a relaxed time zone of it's own) but other reviews are right food is tempid at best. The two stars are because they are almost always Friendly which is very nice. Sadly the last 3 to 6 months they have, rarely, gotten the orders right. Because they are a happy bunch it seems rude to check every order at the window. But the wide variations from orders can be disheartening. Who doesn't like McDonalds for a quick bite before snowboarding? This has basically become a ritual for me and some friends before spending the day at Bear Mountain or Snow Summit as it is on the way to both resorts. I definitely would say that I probably come here more then my check-ins. Although the food isn't the best you gotta think it is fast food. This is probably the best place to stop by and get a quick bite before burning off all the fat on the slopes. 4 stars although they tend to screw up my orders all the time :/. Will definitely be back again. P.S. The stall in the bathroom for male has a HUGE opening even after the have the door locked and closed. read more

So I went today for lunch and I asked the lady who gave me my order for one Big Mac sauce I have never been charged for condiments at any other McDonald's and she said that it was $.89 for one that it was her managers idea of charging for condiments to top it off she gave me attitude when I asked for ketchup I don't know what kind of business they are running up here in big bear they are rude unprofessional as soon as they give your order they walk away so you don't have to ask them for nothing they didn't know I understand Spanish and they were being unprofessional and saying rude comments about me. They thought I didn't understand Spanish. Also this McDonald's is very overpriced. I paid almost $60 for breakfast for 3 people when at other McDonald's locations I pay $25 for 3 people. In all honesty I will never return to this McDonald's ever again. I'd rather go to Carls Jr that's down the road. read more

I wouldn't even give this place 1 star if that was an option. My wife and I are on our honeymoon and we decided that we didn't want to have to cook so we thought McDonald's would be a good place to eat. Down where we live we have always had a good experience at a McDonald's. But the man in the drive thru that took our payment and gave us our food was so rude (he had a weird accent). We ordered TWO fries and a TWENTY piece nugget. My wife and I love ranch with our meal so I think that such a large meal would be enough to warrant about ten ranch, right? Wrong! When we asked if we could get six more (four were already in the bag) he just looked at us and said, and I quote, "no that's too much. I think 4." At first we thought whatever and headed home to eat but when we unpacked our food ranch was everywhere. Four of the little packets were broken open. Two of them looked like they were punctured by a finger nail. And of course the food was cold. We live 5 minutes away! We should have returned the food and gone to pollo loco instead. I would not recommend giving your money to this place to just be treated like you are undeserving of something even though you're supporting their company. read more

Hey at least this place was opened and Taco Bell was not. After a day of drinking one usually craves greasy food so we thought we should drive thru. Here is what we ordered: 20 piece chicken McNugget Meal (I didn't know these exist!) 1 orange juice 2 chocolate milkshakes Big Mac Meal with Coke Here is what was consumed 10 minutes later: I ate 2 pcs of Chicken McNuggets Billy ate 4 pieces Matt licked the special sauce off the Big Mac and ate the top bun some of the milkshake What a waste of $27 but the feeling of being able to pass out (from drinking) on what you think is a full stomach is priceless. read more

Stopped by here for a quick bite for breakfast and before we hit the slopes. Upon arrival this place was packed from the drive-thru to dining in. My party (10) and I decided to dine in. Although it was packed, there were a few cashiers to speed up orders. However, one of the cashier's that we went to gave us the worse service and experience ever at a McDonald's. Placing our orders; started with the mcgriddle meal (can't remember the meal #) but the cashier said they don't serve mcgriddle's(so then why is up there to order) so then asked for the eggwhite meal; she then says we don't have egg whites (again so why didn't anyone block it out of the menu!?) so decided on the sausage biscuit meal #5 and to remind you that these were all meals that we are ordering. After reiterating the # we chose for our orders the cashier still had to ask us if these were all meals. Once our number was called only about half the orders were correct and some of them were meals. I would never have to yelp a McDonald's but after this experience stay away from this location and from reading recent reviews from other yelpers we seem to share the same experience. read more

Manager was leaning on counters and wasn't a very good one at that. If someone made a mistake, he called would talk to the employee in a demeaning way in front of customers. I was in retail management for 5 years and you should always take the employee to the side outside of customer's view and talk to them and coach them in what they did wrong and tell them what they should do in the future. The way you talk to your employees can effect how the employees act towards the customer. This manager was very unprofessional IMO and he wasn't even wearing a name tag. I'm pretty sure e was wearing a sweater from home also which was a little weird. read more

I don't go to McDonald's very often but I love going to the Big Bear location. The staff is always so nice and the manager is always attentive watching everything happening and 100% on top of everything. Fast food is fast food, I enjoy the breakfast before work. Obviously, I avoid going on the weekends when they are super busy. Too many tired people hurrying around just to get stuck in traffic on the way down. And Yes, everything in Big Bear costs more, welcome to the mountains. It costs more to bring material and supplies up the hill. Basic economics. read more

This is the second time we have stopped into this McDonald's location in the past two months. On Monday, July 25th we got 3 Mc Doubles, a Quarter Pounder with Cheese meal and 2 Frappe's. Within about an hour and a half, two people in our group were experiencing GI issues. We experienced similar on the last visit. No more McD's for us, just not worth it. The location looks like they can't take care of the property. It was a bit rundown from the outside. There was someone trying to clean up, but it just looks bad. We should have trusted our gut. I know it's McDonald's, but this is the worst one I've been. The cashiers don't know what they're doing and are slow. I've been overcharged at least twice. Once only 80 cents over and the other was $3 over! The worst part was that the manager didn't even apologize and made it as if it was my fault. The manager's attitude was terrible. No smile, no apology. And she wasn't nice to her employee/cashier. The cashier took forever to order the three people ahead of me and then took forever to order mine. I was only refunded my 80 cents. I didn't get a refund of my $3 bc it was too chaotic to even go back and get it. If you're ok with bad service and have time to waste, this is the place to be. Otherwise go somewhere else. read more

It's so funny reading all the people who give it 1 or 2 star. There is such a correlation between them all. The food was typical but missing things. No condiments for the big breakfast, no ice in the soda machine, customers complaining about incorrect orders.... Really, the list goes on and on. On top of that, fully disorganized. It looks like chickens with their heads cut off. Hahaha. It was a show watching this. What this place needs to do is take a page out of the mcdonalds in Barstow. If I could give zero stars I would, by far the worst experience ever at a McDonalds. We went on 12/26 in the drive thru to get something quickly before we hit the road back home and what a mess it was. This location must be understaffed, because everyone would place their order, pay, and then when you get to the window to pick up your items, they have you pull off to the side in a parking stall to wait for them to bring it to you- I know this happens every once in awhile, but with every single customer? All in all, the trip to the drive thru took 45 MINUTES. I'm not even exaggerating; our receipt read 10:27am and but did not get out of the parking lot until almost 11:30, because all of the backup in the parking lot subsequently created a huge line for trying to get out of there, and of course we get stuck behind a person that wants to turn left but isn't signaling.. If we come back to Big Bear, no way would I ever even consider visiting this McDonalds, it's the worst one there is! read more

After reading the previous reviews I was frightened of taking my family here this evening. Unfortunately my kids were wet and cold and did not want to get out of the car after a full day of playing in the snow. Plus Big Bear was crazy busy with all the other snow play people so there was no chance of us being able to sit down to eat dinner somewhere. We ordered $37 worth of food for our carload of 5. The order process was simple, the staff was friendly, and the order was hot and correct on the first try. I would have given it a 5, but I decided to run in and use the restroom quick. It was teeny-tiny, old, and messy but you can thank all the wet people and their muddy shoes for that. read more

We were visiting big bear and stopped for breakfast, the cashiers had the worst attitude, my daughter went to ask for some strawberry jelly and told new that the girl threw it on the counter for her , I couldn't believe it so I went for more and she did it to me too . That got me really mad, the only reason why I did not say anything is 1. I will never go to eat there is I ever go back 2. I was more embarrassed than her for sure. This was the WORST most UNPROFESSIONAL visit I have every had.  I am still in shock. I12/20/19 @ 953pm.  I place an order through the drive thru. I order a kid's meal and an egg mcmuffin meal with a large coffee. The guy who takes the order is rude the entire time, and acts as though I was disturbing him. He then says he doesn't know if he can make the egg mcmuffin into a combo because they do not sell it that way. Funny, I have always ordered it that way at every McDonalds I have visited.  He comes back and sounds even more annoyed and says fine he can do it. I ask him to repeat the order and he says don't worry I have it. I do not see it on the screen so I ask again. He repeats it back. I go to the 1st window and pay, then go to the 2nd window. The same kid who took the order is there. He hands me the kids meal and the egg mcmuffin then shuts the window. He says nothing at all to me. So I keep sitting at the window waiting for my coffee and hash brown. He comes back opens the window and just says yeah? I tell him I am waiting for the rest of my order and he says I gave you everything. I told him what I was missing and he says nope you never ordered that. Sorry. I told him I did, repeated it several times and he had to even see if he could make it a meal. He just shrugged. I said ok fine can you just ring me up for these items, will it be more money to pay individually than in a combo? He shrugs again.  I said so can you ring me up for the combo and I pay the difference,  I shouldn't have to pay more for his screw up. He shrugs again, and then says nope we don't sell it like that so you have to pay full amount. I asked for his manager. He was like nope he is in break.   I said fine I will wait for him to get off break. The kid looks to the back then says my manager is shaking his head. The shift manager then comes over.. and he is as UNPROFESSIONAL as the kid. His shirt is all untucked and he rolls his eyes a d said what's going on what do you need. The kid says they are ordering food but refuse to pay. The manager says well you need to pay sorry. I explain to him what happened, he looks at the monitor and says it doesn't say you ordered a combo you will have to pay. So I asked again why should I pay extra for the kid not doing his job. I will pay gladly for the combo I ordered. The shift manager says um what was that? What did you say? He is doing his job. I was like forget it, I'm done. Finally he says fine I will get it for you and rolls his eyes. I have never been treated so badly!!! So much for caring about the customer. It is one thing to be treated so bad by the kid but management as well?! I haven't even gotten to the food. The sandwich was burnt, the coffee barely warm. Wow. Great job. read more

The tables are dirty, have to wipe down someone else mess just to sit at a table, ketchup machine doesn't work, no napkins dispenser and shitty remote order taking machine. What happened to the prices? A medium Big Mac combo with tax $9.15??? Only real value for this place is the $1.00 large drink. Was told to pull up to the third window of the drive through after ordering. I waited there 15 minutes before I knocked on the window a few times. Nobody came. Knocked more. The person who came was the girl who sent me to the third window. She asked me what I wanted. I told her I wanted my food. She asked what I ordered so I gave her my receipt. A different person shows up 4 minutes later with my order. I asked why it took so long and was told the egg whites take a while to cook... They screw up every order they have three windows the second window is marked 1 the third window is marked 2. You never know which window to go to.
