Morning shift is good people, that's the best time to go and get decent food. We came here two times. One time for breakfast and one time for dinner. We ate inside for breakfast. It was extremely messy, and unclean. Service was slow, and when I ordered on the kiosk it didn't have receipt paper. I find that frustrating that way if there is a mistake I have proof of if I had done something wrong on my part. When I came for dinner, they were missing two things.. which was extremely frustrating because we had waited in line so long and then we had to wait again. I had two kids and a dog in my car. I wasn't about to get everyone out of the car, because people can't have a keen eye of how to read an order. During the day, this place is great and fresh. HOWEVER the reviews about not coming afte 830 are true. The building is lit up, says open until 11pm, and you can see multiple staff members inside but no one will acknowledge the drive thru. watched several cars pull around building and then we waited, in case they're short staffed to process the window and then take out order. No one ever spoke through the box, pulled to window in case the speaker was broken and they just hadn't gotten a sign up but there was no one at window. Decided to try and go in and order. You can see multiple crew members inside, just kinda hanging out. No acknowledgement of customers what-so-ever. in the 20 minutes before 9 to 9:05pm when we left, they left 6 customers besides us figure out on their own that they were not accepting orders, regardless of supposedly being open for another 2 hours. If you're passing during daytime, they usually have hot fries, but after dinner rush, seems to be a ghost town. read more

Awful!! My wife and I stopped here for two fish meals. The soda machine was down, ice tea was out, and they wanted to charge us more for the specialty drinks (frappe, slushie, etc). Don't bother if it's after 8:30 PM. Morning crew is fantastic, a little slow at times but they're trying their best including early afternoon if i get the kids from school and stop for an afternoon surprise... but I've had three instances in evenings, including tonight, where different apps say they're open until 11pm, my girls wanted something to eat on after a super long and busy day so I detoured and stopped there right around 10pm (another time it was barely 9pm) and they were closed. All these times I saw multiple workers, one sitting in the front dining area and another in the back. No one answered the drive thru and the doors were locked. Ok, I gave this McDonald's 3 stars based on one drive through experience. We almost didn't stop there because of its 1 star rating and it's definitely better than that. The fries are perfectly cooked - crispy, just enough salt, and served hot. And to be honest, the fries are reason enough to eat at a McDonald's. I also got chicken McNuggets and my wife got a quarter pounder plain. They were fast, courteous, and got the order correct. Another plus! Don't be afraid to stop here. I don't know why everyone is giving this McDonald's such bad reviews. Yes they were slow, but also EXTREMELY packed. They're near the border of Maryland and Virginia. Tourists will stop at the first McDonald's they see for a bathroom break and some food. Definitely go through the drive through if you want a faster meal. If you need to, use the bathroom and then pull around to the drive through. Inside is pretty slow, but they're definitely working under some circumstances. As McDonald's go, this one is above average, the staff are great, and what they are famous for they do well. I know some will say "It is just McDonald's" true, but being one of the few fast food places in the area they are in, they could easily not worry. This place stays busy, as they are the mcdonalds along a busy main road during the tourist season. That said, this franchise refuses to provide good service or timely food orders. Visited 6-9-16. Horrible experience. Every single employee acts like they don't want to be there. There was a couple ahead of me during non-peak food hours, who had just gotten their food and were leaving. I guess whoever was cooking thought that was it for a while and it was time for a break or something, because it took me 13 minutes to get my food. As soon as the cashier took my order she bolted and I saw no one up front during my wait. Went thru the drive thru yesterday morning for breakfast on my way to Virginia Beach for my sons appointment, line was packed okay cool but when it was my turn to order I sat for a good 5 mins without anyone saying a word to me, no I'll be right with you or anything, so I said hello (I was not trying to be rude or anything honest to god) and immediately the girl working replies back "MA'AM don't hello me, I can hear you in my headset I was busy" and since I was not trying to be rude I apologized about 10 times cause I did not want to come off that way, but she on the other hand was rude, so I placed my order went on to the 1st window to pay, no one comes and takes my payment (she let the car behind me pay), so not wanting to hold up the already packed line any more I pull up to the 2nd window to pick up my food and tell the girl working there that no one took my payment at the first window so then she had to take my card and go back to the first window. It was just a nightmare and I was very tempted to pull off without paying or getting my food but I am not that type of person. I will never go there again that is for sure. There have been some huge improvements over the two years since I've rated this McDonalds the first time. Needless to say, the bathrooms are a little better, and the food is right with what a McDonalds should have, but the attitude of the workers isn't changing anytime soon. The culture here is very rude and "respect me and I might respect you back" mentality. If you go in the evening, the teens working can be pretty nasty depending on who you get, but many of them are much nicer than the people who work in the morning.
