Same McD quality....different day. They make you order your own food on a screen and you can get your own cups. I understand and appreciate the concept, but the lady who showed up after me gets her food before me? The restaurant was a little unkept and there was trash on the floor throughout the restaurant. A little attention to detail goes a long way. The restrooms are dirty, but what's new. First, this place is CASH ONLY. Who does that nowadays?! Especially out of town people... So not only did I have to leave, pass through a mess of construction, I had to get a service fee of $3 just to pull cash out the ATM at a near by gas station. Food was less than basic. Fries were burnt as if they redipped them to reheat them. My buttermilk crispy sandwich was less than stellar. It was dry, hard, and smelled of mildew. Could have been the mayo kicking off the smell but I couldn't tell. My daughters nuggets were hard, dry, and cold. Not to mention the food package is sealed for delivery so the delivery driver can't inspect it for you. Nice staff, but slow & disorganized. Pros: Clean, looks nice, & convenient when visiting Legoland or the outlet stores. Cons: - VERY slow service. -- A customer from the drive-thru (who was waiting outside for a while) had to come in to ask about missing pies. -- They had only one register open even though the line had grown to over nine groups. More people were still coming in too. - Incorrect or incomplete orders. -- I should have double checked my order after seeing other customers missing items. -- The healthy choices in my kids meals were both missing. Manager on March 23, 2023 5:20pm Thursday shift was awful. I would and will never come back to this location. To the owner: we placed a mobile order via the McDonalds app (4 cones) for pickup at the drive-thru. There is an option on the app to click when you arrive - we did not click it. When we arrived at the drive-thru the option to say were here was gone. The drive thru attendant did not see our pick up code in the system and referred us to this manager who also did not see it in the system. She asked us to place the order again which we had already been charged for. I got down from my car to show her the app receipt, my credit card charge, and all the codes sent to up from the app. With people in line now yelling at us for holding up the line she refused to do anything. I then drive around and went inside and showed another person the code and she DID recognize the order and said they had made it a while ago and that they were waiting for us. She brought out three melted cones. I asked for the manager and asked her to explain why we had to go through all that if the order had been there all along. She wouldn't let me speak, she implied that I was to blame and that if were within three miles of the location they fill the order, I became upset, she started to argue with me and said it wasn't in her system - not my fault. She said she had a job to get back to and i insisted on three new cones. She complied but mumbled something in the kitchen to the effect of "all this over three cones". Exactly! As a manger you should know that having your store take a loss in the cents for the three cones is preferable to losing a long time customer who would have spent hundreds or thousands over the course of years. The right thing would have been to take the time to see that they were indeed paid for and comp them - accept the technical issue on McDonalds side and move on. In the end you still had to make three new cones and the melted ones were thrown out. As a manager does that make business sense to you? As I drove away I called the store to get the managers name and they refused to give it to me and said I had to come back in person so....take the date and time above and find out what manager was on shift that day - that's who you need to have a talk with. She is the face of your business and this is how she represents you in front of your customers and it's the example she is setting for the employees that work around her. It's not how customers should be treated. I will be disputing the charge with my credit card on principal alone and I have already written to corporate in reference to her and your store and look forward to explaining everything in detail to them. read more

Ok, so this high rating may seem out of character for me, based on my own personal rating scale and past history of other 5-star establishments, especially in light that this is going to a McDonald's. And not a particularly exciting McD's at that. It's crowded with annoying travelers going between LA/OC and SD, and the parking lot is usually a mess. So why the 5-star rating? It's because it was one of the test restaurants for the experimental McGriddle ... I was clogging my arteries with pancake sandwiches implanted chips of syrup years before the rest of the country could even fathom the concept. I would even make sure to wake up early so I could get to the Palomar AIrport exit before the 10:30am cutoff, if I was on my way to SD. Oh joy of joys... git in mah bellah! Came through the drive thru for a Happy Meal for my daughter. The good: the person who took my order was polite and asked me for the specifics like barbeque sauce for the McNuggets and apple slices in lieu of the kids' yogurt. The nuggets and fries were made fresh. The bad: They gave me the kids' yogurt and absolutely no sauce for the McNuggets. Really? And it wasn't even busy. I should've listened to the Yelp reviews. One of the worst Mcdonalds I have ever been to. Was told I couldn't have what I wanted on the menu, even though it was past the breakfast / lunch change over. So instead of the fish sandwich / fries I wanted, I ended up with a sausage mcmuffin & hash browns, both I think were made when they opened. I asked for S&P and got neither. The hash browns were cold & greasy, the sausage mcmuffin came without the "round egg" I had asked for. Overall a horrible experience & I've even eaten in the Mcdonalds in Moscow with better customer service. I'll make sure to post on my Facebook page what a waste of effort this place is. One of the best McDos I've been too in ages! Food is always funky fresh and the staff are happy! Convenient that it's located off the freeway. Only gripe is the turning radius coming in is tight so watch out for cars when making the turn inside. read more

I'm giving this store 1 star because of my experiences with this place. 2 weeks ago I went to this store and got a mcChicken and drove back to work only to find that all the lettuce was brown. Today I went to get another mcChicken and the wrapper had a reddish-brown, dried on substance. I went back to the store (around lunch time, so I understand it's busy) and asked to talk to the manager, waited about 2 minutes and the manager came over to me, did not introduce himself, and asked what was wrong. I showed him the wrapper and told him I think it may be blood. He quickly said "do you want another one? And it's BBQ sauce." I said sure and he made another one. The reason these interactions get 1 star is because when I had a legitimate problem I was given about 10 seconds to talk to the manager. Halfway through our order at the drive thru the employee ignored us until we got their attention again. There were no cars in line expect for one in front of us that sat there for 15 minutes before being handed their small order. We waited ten minutes for our food and then another ten minutes for our smoothies that never came. I have been here 3 times already and they messed up my order all three times! Not my favorite place, but convenient for the kids sometimes after school on my way to work. The way they set up these merging drive thrus drive me crazy. One side you can pull up and the next car can order but the other side has to wait longer for the car to move up in line. You think this place would be ready for the lunch rush, but just came and was told to pull forward to wait for my food. The drive thru parking was full from others being told the same. I was finally able to pull into a spot, but my food never came. I had little kids in the car so I couldn't get out and run in. I ended up leaving my food, because I had to get to work. So sad, but the last straw for me. I will take the time to go somewhere else from now on. A blessing in disguise. read more

I generally have pretty low expectations when it comes to McDonald's. I really have to hand it to this place though. I had ample time to decide on my order. Once I made up my mind I waited a few minutes to let the folks behind the counter finish running around in disorganized chaos. The manager who waited on me wore his indifference with pride. I ordered my quarter pounder meal and took my receipt. He didn't really say much to me and I returned the favor. Sat down and listened to the constant beeping from the kitchen while I waited for my food. Grabbed my tray and opened the carton to find an overcooked, dry fried chicken sandwich. When I wqs a kid, there was a McDonald's near our house that always messed up our order. Eventually, my Dad would just pull up to the drive through and say "just put whatever you want in the bag for 4 people, and tell me which window to pay at". They would say "Sir, we can't do that" and my Pops would say "yes you can, you do it every time I come here. I truly had one of the worst fast food expirences of my life last night, me and two others went to this McDonalds to try the J Balvin meal, upon getting there we find out the ice cream machine is "out of order". Whatever, this was fine, we just asked to substitute the McFlurry in the meal for a sprite. Just ordered from the drive through and the manager working tonight was awful. She yelled at the young girl working at the drive through window and got out order wrong. When I proceeded to tell them the order was wrong, the manager was rude and said, "Give me back the food. I'm going by what the ticket said." So I replied back, "Here's the receipt, it says it right here what I ordered." The poor kid working at the window was apologetic but I didn't need an apology. I just felt bad for that poor girl for getting yelled at in front of other customers and staff.
