Desperate times call for desperate measures. Late night connecting flight. This was one of the only places open if you wanted hot food. Otherwise it was cold sandwiches from the shop. This place doesn't even deserve one star. I know, I know, it's McDonald's, in an airport so you gotta give them some leeway. Which I did. I know not to expect much. But this was the most atrocious service I've ever come across for fast food in any airport I've been too, and I travel frequently. They won't take your order at the cash register (which is fine, we ordered from the kiosk anyhow) but did witness them tell people who tried to order they wouldn't take their orders and to order from the kiosk after they stood in line waiting. The kiosk didn't have paper so it wasn't spitting out tickets with your number on it. Snails pace from all employees, they were chatting and making jokes while people were (trying to patiently) wait for their food. They were calling out order numbers but people didn't have ticket numbers since the kiosk wasn't printing ticket receipts, so many people were confused. People waiting for their food for 20-30 minutes. I actually saw multiple orders abandoned because people couldn't wait any longer for their food or they'd miss their flights. Saw at least 4 orders just sitting on the counter that had been abandoned, other people considered just taking them since they weren't sure they'd even get their orders. Spoke up to the employee about our order with a reminder that we don't have a number because the kiosk didn't print one out. Told her what we had and she started working on it. Didn't have one of our items told her it was fine (no refund-but just wanted to get something and run) one of the lucky few in our time frame who received our order (missing an item-Apple pie, also not correct order-three orders of fries, we ordered two so I'm sure some poor bloke was missing their fries, only one cheeseburger when we had two) and had to sprint to our gate and barely made it. Whoever runs this McD's needs to get new staff, or retrain on customer service, and food procedures in general. McDonald's is supposed to be a consistent staple everywhere you go. This place was purely awful. I'm usually only one to write positive reviews but this was just the biggest disgrace that I had to let it be known. Please, for anyone considering, just get the cold sandwich and a bag of chips from the news store next door. You'll be much happier you did. read more

Pretty much out of most nuggets sauces and many frozen drinks, bakery items, etc. You have to hand in your ticket so they can start your order. I've never seen anything like it. It's now 6:48 -- my order was placed at 6:26 -- and I STILL have not received my coffee. I would normally walk up to the counter and ask for a refund, but I'm afraid the 50 other customers standing here waiting with me might attack me. THIS IS INSANE!!!!!!! Ordered the new Double Big Mac. Sometime during its preparation, the manager, without gloves on, took out her cellphone to Facetime an employee for her birthday. Then the whole crew of roughly eight people gathered around to shout "happy birthday." The manager did not use hand sanitizer after pulling out her phone and having the crew essentially spit all over it. Unconscionable that not a single employee at a McDonalds ... in an airport ... in March 2020 thought that something was wrong here. My last experience at this McDonalds prompted me to write a review simply because what I saw was unacceptable in terms of health and safety. The lady in line in front of me ordered a sandwich with special instructions (include bacon in the sandwich). She was also sick and was coughing into her hands the entire time she stood in line and stood waiting for her food. When her order number was called, the first thing she did with her germ ridden hands was open up her sandwich to make sure the bacon was there. It was not. So, with her contaminated hands, she handed the sandwich over to the McDonald's employee, and that employee (whose hands are now contaminated) handed the sandwich over to the kitchen employee (whose hands are now contaminated and by placing that sandwich on the counter, has inadvertently contaminated the kitchen counter). Unfortunately, when my order was delivered to me with contaminated hands, I accepted it because I was starving, tired, and could not wait any longer for my food. There was a 50/50 chance of me getting sick and thankfully I did not get sick. But that still does not negate this McDonald's failure to comply with safety and sanitation standards. I've had layovers at Chicago O'Hare numerous times over the past decade+. More often than not, I'd hit up one of the airport's McDonald's to quell my hunger after a long flight. McDonald's is especially satisfying after an international flight. There's a Mickey D's in just about every terminal at O'Hare. They all receive a high volume of customers and appear to be efficiently run. I've never had any issues. My most recent O'Hare Mickey D's pit stop occurred at the Concourse C location. After hitting up America's Dog at the opposite end of Concourse C for Chicago-style hot dogs, I came to this Mickey D's for an Oreo McFlurry dessert. The McFlurry cost $3.54 after tax ($3.20 before). Outrageous pricing considering my intown neighborhood McDonald's in Atlanta charges only $2.69 (tax incl.) per McFlurry. That's nearly a 33% price increase! As I stated in my America's Dog review, that's airport pricing for you. Inflated. Regardless, the McFlurry tasted fantastic, as always. Smooth, creamy, and delicious. Quick service. They could make the menu easier to read. The text is a bit small, even when standing at the ordering counter. When your order is ready, not only will your number be called by an employee, but it will be displayed on a red computer screen above too. read more

These guys were slammed and I mean SLAMMED with customers when I visted. 20 people in line just to order at the register. 15 in line to use the self-ordering machine. About 30 people who had ordered and waiting on their food. It took 23 minutes to get my food after I ordered, but there were something like 30 or 40 orders ahead of mine. The staff did COMPLETELY AMAZING for what it was, and I genuinely felt bad for them because they were so busy. What to eat for dinner on a cold, Chicago winter's eve as I wait for my flight back to L.A.? I saw this Mickey D's right across from my gate (C11) and knew I had to go with my childhood favorite meal: Filet-o-Fish! Soft and tender, light flaky white fish filet, topped with tangy tartar sauce all on a lightly steamed bun. So yummy! The box said the fish is wild-caught Alaskan Pollack responsibly sourced from an MSC certified sustainable fishery... so even better. :) I'm surprised how healthy and non-greasy the sandwich tasted. It seemed to be more oily when I was a kid... The fries were perfectly cooked and crisp with a nice amount of potato in every bite. They didn't give me any ketchup, and I was too lazy to go back and ask for it, but the fries were good enough without ketchup. It's the average McDonald's but missing many items. Only about 7 sandwiches are available and they just ran out of cheese. Unfortunately most of the O'Hare restaurants close at 7pm so this and restaurants with a bar is the only option. I think there were more people waiting than ordering food. I traveled to Chicago last April for quick getaway and here's my review five months later. On Terminal 5, Kicking back with friends while waiting for my flight that had been delayed and rescheduled three times. I haven't had McDonald's in a long time and I wasn't planning to either but since there wasn't any other places around, I went with my friend's suggestion. More expensive than regular McDonald's, but since it is located conveniently within the airport, it's a good enough place to hunker down for hungry and Weary travelers like me. Fries were piping hot and they followed our order of "no salt." My friends seem to enjoy the burgers, so all in all it was a good experience. Easy access to public restrooms. read more

We caught the early morning flight and when we arrived it was lunch time- lunch time according to our tummies (we were still on west coast time). My better half was discouraging me from eating at the Golden Arches. He said, "Honey we hardly ever eat here. Let's go to White Castle. I know you've been wanting to try White Castle." Then the grumble in my tummy started. I told my better half that I needed to eat now or else I'd faint. We got our food and rushed to the baggage claim. I sat down as he got our bags.
