If there was ever a fast food restaurant to make me feel especially unwelcome, this would be the place! If I weren't an empathetic person, I would give this McD's zero stars. The music is offensively loud. The back of house is a health hazard. Boxes and crates piled high, the soft serve machine is visibly dirty with old ice cream and condiment drizzle, the floor could be mopped and the garbage taken out... The teenager taking orders is starting to break under pressure. Orders are getting messed up. There are a number of people working behind the counter yet I feel like they're understaffed. As the line grows longer, customers behind me become impatient and they're starting to take their hostility out on her. 2 solely for the security who made me feel like I was freeloading their WiFi. I had just literally sat down and got settled, turned my laptop on and was going to order from my MCDs app. Within 5 minutes, the security guard told me, rudely, that I had to order or leave. I do mickey d's every once in a while. I stepped in here last night with my lady friend while on my way to catch a flick. I have to say that the fries were fresh with the perfect blend of golden/crispyness. The mcdouble I had wasn't too shabby either. My order was processed in about a minute and a half so not too terrible compared with some of the other locations I've been to. There were 2 things that I could have done without. I almost had to kick a guys ass for looking at my lady friend the wrong way. That was a little annoying but the thing that really bugged me was the amount of bums hanging around outside on the street. This place is a dump, to say the least. It's not the homeless people that make it so, it's the horrible staff. This McDonald's has a time limit as to how long you can stay without being labeled a "loiterer". My husband asked for a coffee refill before we finished eating, and he was told in a very rude tone, that it had been 30 minutes since his order, and that we couldn't loiter. Since when is a family of four, eating a meal that may take longer than their miserable 30 minutes is labeled as loiterers? All my husband wanted was a refill. We needed to use their filthy restroom (that I will go back and take pictures of) and a couple of the employees got upset because they thought we hadn't bought anything. The employee asked, "DID THEY PAY FOR THAT COIN"? Honestly, I have no issues with the homeless people taking refugee there, and maybe that's why the staff acts like they have a stick up their arse, but that's just bad business. Employees are the faces of the corporations or small businesses that they work for. A corporation like McDonald's can figure out better hiring criteria and proper training. On top of the horrible service and overall experience, the MANAGER started speaking in Spanish, probably thinking that everyone didn't understand Spanish. She said that black homeless people were always looking to get freebies. I immediately let it be known that I understood everything she was saying, and her reply was, "I know". Service has been slow a few times I have been here but tonight was bad. I ordered my food from the automative machines. I ordered a salad, a medium fry, and unsweetened tea. They had my order finished and set it to the side. I thought this man was getting my drink. The gentleman was getting my drink but made an error with my drink. He corrected it then choose to ignore my order was finished but in the counter by the service station but not given to me. I tried getting the employees attention but he was handling something with the mc flurry machine. Completely lackluster, even though they've tried to facelift the chain with their whole "50's McDonald's" theme (the 50's were not so rosy for everyone in this country, just so ya know) and have supposedly better coffee on offer (I for one am not fooled - it's just as burnt & watery as before). And somehow people seem to think their fish fillet sandwich is the healthiest thing on the menu, because it's fish? Please. Even their salads are (or were) almost entirely iceberg lettuce. My family and I felt unsafe at this place. The staff was friendly and got the order correctly, so I wish I could give better rating. But I wouldn't recommend this place at all. We walked to this place from Wilson red line for a quick bite before heading to nearby Target . There are way too many unhygienic/shaky/drunk walking around this McD. While we were in the restaurant, many people were seated inside apparently having finished their meals long ago but with no plans to leave, some had burger wrappers, pieces of food thrown all over their table and seats.Some of them were involved in loud conversations or talking to themselves and staring at other customers. The whole time we had our food, the guy in the next table appeared to be intently staring at us. This is the only McDonald's that people will panhandle you while you are in line. The area is sketchy and they could really use some security. I feel bad for the nice women that work behind the counter. This McDonald's is always busy, so check your order. They usually don't get it right. If you're doing the drive-thru, you'll probably have to put your hazards on and make sure it's all there. If you're a sweet tea fan - it's not good here. They water it down. So i stopped at Micky's for some breakfast this morning and...... i know i know Micky's! ........it was a total disaster.....i ordered a number 5 with cheese....i get a number 5 no cheese but i get egg (number 5 dosen't come with egg)......totally didn't want egg......so i drive back around and of course i had to wait in line for a little while longer and i give the lady my sandwich back with my receipt, (and i clearly told her "please no egg") -the receipt clearly shows with cheese......long story short-they promptly get me a new sandwich....as i drive off i open up the wrapped sandwich only to find it with egg again! I've worked in Uptown for years, so I've been to this McDonald's many times. Most of the bad reviews on here are based on their clientele, which I think is unfair to them. I always get the fish sandwich and it's fresh and tasty every time. Four years of fish sandwiches with a 100% success rate is pretty damn good in my opinion. I also think the staff is great. If anyone thinks working fast food is easy, they should try it sometime. Every time I've been in there, both management and crew are working their butts off. So give them a break and eat a fish sandwich. read more

This is the worst McDonald's on the planet! Not only are they slooooow but they are in general just rude! Today they forgot to give me sauce for my food . I politely asked for sauce and she insisted it was in the bag. I checked twice it was not in there so I asked again, she insisted it was in there! I then dumped the entire contents of the bag on the counter and still no sauce and she still did not get me any sauce and had to check with another employee! Then I get my food home and there is hair in my sons food! They give you no receipt just throw it away so then your tough out pf luck! Well seems silly to write a review on a McDonald's. The largest world wide chain in the world that set the standard for consistency and quality that other chains now thankfully have exceeded. I live one block away and have 3 young children so as you can understand they always want McDonalds. I myself do not eat fast food anymore but treat the kids once in a while. Since I live in the area I'll be approached for some money by individuals so that has nothing to do with the place. The individuals who ask I always ask what they need money for and if it's food I'll buy them 1 meal. I won't give cash. I don't believe anyone should go hungry in the wealthiest country in the world, but don't get it twisted. These individuals who ask have to also take their own their well being and make a change to feed themselves as we all do in our lives. My issue is with the poor service, lack of friendliness, not even a smile. Honestly automation would be better at this McDonalds than the lack luster service I have gotten when getting order of french fries, caramel sundae and mango smoothie (kids standard order every time). I have been taught to smile by my parents and teach my kids to smile at others. No one wants to see a frowning serious face. What happened to that McDonald Crew Attitude? Well it's definitely the wrong attitude at this location. I was a crew kids myself when I was 16. My manager, assist managers, crew leaders all reminded me to make eye contact and "Smile!". Is smiling uncool? Is it not on trend? Even when the order is wrong, the fries are cold, the water sprinkler is turned on while I am placing my order at the drive through window and I and the interior of my car is soaking wet, I have been pleasant and just pointed out the issue and error to the order taker. I was told "I can't give you anything except a free small drink". Never did I even ask for anything free. But on that last time I heard that I just walked away. We do not go to this location. I know my neighborhood, I volunteer in my neighborhood. Diversity and tolerance is a bases if you are going to live in a major urban center like Chicago and Uptown. The yuppies, mentally ill, homeless, over & under privileged and menagerie of cultures and individuals in Uptown make this an exciting area to live. Only wish that service would be better. We now walk to the Target or Sonic where there is a friendly attitude and much more pleasant representatives. I did leave a message for the owner regarding my sprinkler incident and Kimot (sp) never got back to me. I than emailed corporate and 2 months later I got a standard email response. Very disappointing all around. I spend my dollars elsewhere. I honestly hope this location moves or closes down. The food quality was inconsistent but recently a bit better since they remodeled. The service is still poor. I do believe one should shop local as it benefits those around us and who live in our community. I tend to go to the Foster & Sheridan Location now since the service is better there. They too make mistakes but atleast I smile and they smile back and are always pleasant to the kids when they say "thank you" to the person who gives us our order. read more
