I've had so many problems with this McDonald's. How are you a 24 hour company and yet you have people only pay cash at night. Most people these days don't carry cash you are losing a lot of business. 2nd of all you're supposed to start breakfast at 4:00am not 3:30am, the workers are so lazy to just make a couple more fries. Especially on DoorDash just tonight I ordered at 3am. And they were supposed to have my order ready to be picked up but they only made it when my DoorDasher arrived there and they said they only have breakfast well I'm sorry but ARENT you supposed to have my order ready at the time I ordered it and you accepted the order you can't go back on that you're making the dasher look bad and DoorDash. I'm so tired of these lazy workers. So thanks for my crappy night. And last but not least who suggests hashbrowns instead of fries how rude! Just refund me. Smh. read more

I happen to be a fan of McDonalds. I know it's not good for you, but it's MCDONALDS for crying out loud! HAHA! One of my guiltiest pleasures for sure.. They hooked me long ago and I've never been able to let go. This is the closest one to my house so I often takes trip here for so many things. Here are a few of my favorites: - mcdouble with mac sauce $1.10 (10 cents for mac sauce & it's worth it!) - hot fudge sundae $1 - caramel iced coffee - chicken nuggets (there's a special right now: 20 for $5! .. dangerous!!!) - french fries (YOU HAVE TO EAT THEM WHILE THEY'RE HOT & FRESH!!) - sausage mcgriddle - sausage mcmuffin - egg mcmuffin - deluxe breakfast - hash browns!!!!!!! - big n tasty (i wish they still had this!!!! bring it back!!!) PLEASE!!! - extra large drink that's the same price as a small = $1!! I come here way too much because I it's fast, cheap, and close by! They also have 2 lanes for their drive through, well just for ordering then it merges into one for the windows where you pay & get your food. They only downsides I've ever experienced were finding egg shells in my sausage mcmuffin TWICE.. but not finding it until I was far away & didn't have the energy to go back & complain.. and how they can be a bit more expensive than other ones. I also wish they had breakfast all day & were open 24 hours. Sometimes I crave a burger for breakfast & a hash brown for dinner.. and chicken nuggets in the wee hours of the morning! I only go here in the mornings for the sausage burritos if I go. Pros: 1) Drive-thru. There are two options to mitigate lines. 2) Money food. My order (except once) has always been hot, fresh, & good. 3) Money order. Not only does the drive-thru board help assure correctness of the order, but they have not messed up my order yet! 4) Service. Efficient and always smile at my dog. 5) Affordable & satisfying breakfast. Cons: 1) Competency. This is for other drivers, NOT the staff. Sometimes the concept of merging after placing an order is difficult for the jerk cutting you off in line. 2) Line weirdness. The drive-thru lines can get weird from the 2-lane ordering to just turning into the drive-thru on heavy-traffic days. read more

I'm typically one to dread getting late night fast food, mainly because of the service at certain other nearby places; however, Jacquelin at the register was amazing! She had a smile as big as Texas, and an attitude that could've made you feel like it was afternoon and not 11:30 at night. I now have a place to look forward to visiting, thank you. read more

I've been through this drive though a number of times, morning and evening, and it's always super quick, and so far they haven't gotten my order wrong. WARNING: I got food poisoning from here. Do not buy from here. Please save your family from any such food-related illness. I hope they shut this place down. I was throwing up constantly non-stop for about 30 minutes (even dry-heaving) to get whatever poison crawled into my body from eating food from this place. I wasn't able to eat anything solid for about a week or two and felt really weak from chronic stomach cramps. If you like eating 7-up and crackers for a week then buyer beware: go ahead and attempt to eat or continue to eat here. I called the San Diego Department of Health shortly after to report this case of food poisoning. They conducted an investigation the following week. I received a call regarding their report and although they found "nothing out of the ordinary for a passing grade" the inspector did have to remind the manager to make sure the employees wash their hands, keep or send sick workers home, store food at the appropriate temperatures and get rid of old food. The inspector also said that although he had no problems on his visit, he said that he himself would not go back there and suggested that I do the same. Let me be one to say that I have never had a problem with McDonald's until this incident. I don't think I could ever have the nerve now to even attempt to buy McDonald's again. I don't even eat it regularly, nor even go out of my way to get McDonald's. I hope that you notice the mixed reviews... and quite frankly the "positive" 3-4 stars are very generalized and not so genuine. Please save yourselves the trouble and don't even use this place as a last resort to get some cheap fast food. I was lucky that it was just a mild case of food poisoning and not something severe like salmonella poisoning or even end up in a hospital. I don't really like eating outside that much and it's a shame that eating establishments end up this way... either the employees/food preparers have very poor hygiene or simply hate their jobs... then they probably shouldn't be working there in the first place. read more

Because they market their products to our youth so well, this is the McDonald's I take my four year old to due to proximity to where I live and work. Not much to expect, although I do have to admit the consistency of the taste and quality of the food is consistent whether you order from here or somewhere in the Philippines. This can either be good or bad. Recently I had an experience that prompted me to contact their corporate office to provide some feedback in regards to the accuracy of their orders and in the way that they handled the issue. I have been going to this location a little more frequently over the past couple of years because of my daughter's preference for fast food when it's too late to cook anything after school\work. Each time I went through the drive through they keep forgetting certain things, from dipping sauce to an actual apple juice drink, and recently a bungled order that included a failed attempt at making the right coffee and forgetting an entire sandwich. While understandable that people make mistakes, it was the way they handled this recent experience that really prompted me to finally write something about the experience. When my wife called to speak to a manager after arriving home and finding that our order was incomplete, the resolution was "I'm sorry but we are very busy tonight, and you can come back and pick up your missing items." My wife was very animate that all she wanted was for them to acknowledge their mistake and to tell us how they would rectify the issue for future visits. As this was unacceptable I e-mailed their customer relations department and all they said was that they "rectified the issue", without telling us "how". I'm not looking for a report, or specific names of people, all I wanted to know was that they really looked into this issue instead of just saying they did. Not much to my surprise we ended up going there again, this time with them getting the Happy Meal toy incorrect and then not including any ranch sauce with the nuggets. Frustrating. read more

I don't have any expectations when I go to the Otay Lakes Rd. McDonald's. However, my orders have constantly been wrong. I look at the managers, first line supervisors, and their inability to implement proper training. No one's perfect and mistakes happen, but it seems mistakes happen at this location often. Okay. Service is pretty good. But have you TASTED the fries you serve?! What kind of oil do you fry them in?!? Everytime I've gone here, the fries are disgusting and stale. Even cold. Well its nice to know the service got worse here. How do you not understand the difference between the #13 meal and the #14 meal? Having your back turned to me while trying to order doesn't help when your job is to actually take orders at the cash register...considering I was the only customer in line. Having the manager have to tap you on the shoulder to pay attention that someone is trying to order probably tells you why you work at Mickey D's. Also, it doesn't help that the person who mixed up my order has a conversation about "let's be as unprofessional as possible" with customers standing around trying to order. The McDonald's looks newer than most but when we entered, this place was dirty. Every empty table had leftovers for you to enjoy. They could at least send a worker to wipe off the tables with the random crumbs to give it a cleaner appearance. My son wanted to play in the playground but I did a quick look and saw how dirty the playground was and noticed they had random boxes all over it. Took him to wash his hands and the restroom was just as dirty as the outside and the layout is not great when you open the door you have a clear view from the playground of guys peeing. I usually have an ok experience here. It gets crazy busy but due to its location that's expected. Today I had a bad experience and due to it I probably won't be back. I placed my very simple order. 10 piece nuggets, small fries, 2 chocolate chip cookies, and a hazelnut coffee. Get to the window for my food and the guy says the don't hav chocolate chip cookies only sugar cookies. My kid is picky so I said I would wait. He told me they would be done in 3 minutes. So he gives me the rest of my food and tells me to pull forward. 20 MINUTES LATER. No cookies. I had to go inside and ask. They totally forgot. The lady behind the counter gave me a bonus cookie which was nice but to just forget that you have someone waiting for their food is unacceptable. This McDonalds seems to be the training grounds for wayward teens. I only go here when I'm in a rush and have little to no options. Do not go in the afternoon after school, it's a mad house and weekends are questionable. Eastlake is already congested as it is. I can bank on NEVER having my caramel ice coffee prepared properly, the food is cold and they move entirely too fast. They remind me of typical teens who are trying to do a good job but have yet to learn that speed does not equal efficiency and that if you just take your time, learn the process you will be more productive. Moving too fast can cost a company a lot of money and time. SLOW DOWN and get the orders right. I stop going inside because it NEVER looks clean, I'm not sure if its the millions of families that come through there, or the teens that refuse to clean up. But someone needs to be on top of cleaning the tables, bathrooms, etc. What's sad is that I often pass this McDonalds and go two miles west to the McDonalds on East Palomar. I never understood why McDonalds do not have surveys on their receipts for customers to complete. Could it be that they do not care what you think because they will make profit regardless? read more
