Had to give one star because I couldn't leave it blank. I'm not one to bash a business but I had to leave a absolutely horrible review because of my constant problems with this place. I mean the people who work here are awesome but I see why they work for McDonald's because they can't get anything right. Every time we eat here something is either missing or completely wrong never get fresh fries or any sauce with your nuggets. Horrible horrible place to eat. Save your money and go get some real food at the Safeway. This is really hard for me to leave this review because it's really the only fast food within 10 miles and not much to compare it to but this place just sucks read more

I wish I could give negative stars here. Anyway, you never know what a person is going through and this establishment simply CANNOT GET ORDERS CORRECTLY. I have to drive 2hrs everyday to & from work and this McDonald's location is my only quick choice for lunch. Due to covid19 you order at the drive thru but you wait for your food to be delivered to your vehicle. There's only 2 parking spaces where you wait for your food. Tell me why I wait 20mins to see the other driver get my food items and obviously hands it back to the employee because it's not theirs. The employee proceeds to walk back inside and I think to myself, they're making my order once more since it's been handed to the wrong hands/person. I walk inside to ask about my food and THE EMPLOYEE WAS EATING IT! I had no time to argue because my lunch time was clearly over. I was given an apple pie and that was it. Thanks A Lot. This place never really gets your orders right. I usually like my burgers without anything on them especially sauce, so I order plain. You always have to check your order here. I'll stop in the parking lot before I go home to check if they got it right, usually they didn't. When I've ordered plain before in the past, they have slabbed a whole lot of sauce on my burger, and there is nothing more unappetizing than biting into a soggy burger, where there is more sauce than anything else. Also I remember one time me and a friend went in and ordered. I ordered first and then he did. So I was waiting and they called him first, and he finished eating before I even got my food. I had to go back up and ask what the deal was. They had forgotten to call my order out and it was sitting behind the counter. The lack of caring, customer service, and having to double check your food makes this place a drag to go to. My best advice is go somewhere else, Brentwood has better choices and it's worth the drive. I come here on a fairly regular basis, not sure if it's because I go through the drive thru as opposed to inside, but I have NEVER had bad service from this location. There are only a few people that work the drive thru, and I could probably name off all of the employees here I have dealt with and deal with on a regular basis but regardless they ALWAYS have smiles on their faces, ALWAYS get the orders right, which always contain custom items, I'm always greeted, always thanked for my business... Sometimes I have to pull around to the front for them to bring my order to me, and havent figured out why it happens when it does... And also due to the salt shortage I have noticed that sometimes the food could use a little salt, but otherwise I have never run into the issues other customers are apparently having at this location. read more

For the past 6 months we have noticed the food quality declining. We thought they were one offs, but it consistently was happening. Last night we went, but shouldn't have. We only live less than a mile from the Discovery Bay McDonald's and it is the only fast food place in our area. ALL the food we purchased (approx $19.50) looked as if it had been sitting out for hours. They gave spicy chicken mcnuggets when we just requested chicken mcnuggets. They didn't ask which ones, we didn't even know they offered spicy ones. They were hard and very over cooked. The burger had wilted lettuce and tomato looked dry and old. Don't get me started on the patty. Fries were old and tasted burnt. Well, all that was left was the soda so that was our dinner. I went today in person to speak with the manager and asst mgr. They asked if I called, I did not(planned to go in person the following day) Asked if I had receipt, I did not. I brought with me the 10 piece nuggets with a small bite out of one for a refund just on the nuggets. They refused and didn't do anything. Didn't even get a sorry. Every time I come here (at least 3 times a week if not more) cause it's close to my house and I don't cook, they're always asking me to park and wait for my order. I always order the sausage McMuffin with egg. If you're not ready to serve breakfast all day maybe you shouldn't put it on your menu. I'm tired of being asked to park. I'm not sure when they close on Friday Night but I went at like 1am ordered small fry and small shake. While I'm waiting for my order they tell me that the ice cream machine is down. The same guy who took my order which he should have known when taking my order that I wouldn't be able to get a shake instead of me paying for it and having to pick between cookies and a frappuccino at 1 in the morning or a smoothie. Not only that, but the small fry I ordered was cold and tasted like they were from a few hours ago. i don't Yelp that much but this visit was that bad that I had to leave a Yelp review basically went and spent money on nothing. read more

Good lord, that stretch of Highway 4 can be brutal. It's like wandering the desert, especially if you are hours behind on your mandatory lunch break (and I get fussy on an empty stomach). But golly... what's that I see in the distance? It looks like a pair of golden arches, but perhaps my hunger-stricken eyes are depriving me. No... it is! In the middle of friggin' nowhere, there is a shopping center, complete with McDonalds! If I had gone any farther without eating, things would have gotten ugly. It's a McDonald's, just as plain as any other. There's a Playplace, but they don't let me in there. Food was fine, restroom was in reasonable shape. Maybe I was just desperately hungry, but we had no problems there. Just another McDonald's. Now back to the road.... read more

My friends and I went into McDonalds and asked if they had chocolate soft serve and the manager didn't know what soft serve ice cream was, so he proceeded to explain to us all the ways chocolate was served in McDonalds including: hot fudge, mocha chocolate sauce, caramel chocolate sauce, chocolate chips, and M&M's. This manager really did not know what chocolate soft serve was and he said "We have a chocolate factory back here". Then later proceeding with the transaction the machine wasn't working with my friends card and he didn't help us and another lady just looked at us confused and walked away.... I only go in the drive thru here for drinks now because they always "F" you in the drive thru! Seems that is the only orders they don't screw up. Ordering anything else is way to complex for them to handle. And I swear they are messing with me when I go there. Coming home late from boating in the Delta, needed to eat. I pulled up with my truck and my 23 foot boat in town just after 11pm. They were closed, but drive through was open. The drive through was designed way too small to accommodate a truck pulling a boat which is a VERY common scene in Discovery Bay. So I parked the truck and boat and walked up to the drive thru. Can you believe...she refused to serve me and they actually ignored me knocking at the window. When a cleaning woman came out the back door I pointed to my keys and the boat and truck int he parking lot and begged to order food!!!! The woman still said no, and with a smile opened the window and said she couldn't take my order or serve me unless I was in a vehicle!!!! So I'm BOYCOTTING this McDonald's...and unless the remodel their drive through to accommodate community i won't buy there and encourage others to do the same. It's discriminating! read more

Mc Donalds employees need to slow their roll and get the orders right. Ordered dinner for 5 people. They shorted us 2 burgers. The fries are cold and soggy. Fast and efficient service. Didnt have to wait too long in the drive thru and was back on the road within minutes. I even got napkins.

Great for when I don't feel like cooking. They are open later than any other restaurant in the area. The night manager is wonderful. He even remembers me if I'm driving a different car through drive-thru. They always get my order right. And hardly ever do I have to wait for my food. Their breakfast menu is pretty expensive. If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm so mad at myself for trying this McDonald's again. The only reason is because there's no other fast food in Discovery Bay and unfortunately they know it! This is the worst fast food I've ever had anywhere. It taste nothing like the McDonald's that you know. The fries are always cold and taste like old cigarette butts, the food was all clearly not just made and the nuggets were dark brown and tasted nothing like a normal McDonald's nugget. The bun was hard on the regular burgers. We spent 30.00 and feel like we just threw it in the garbage. You know it's bad when even the kids didn't want it. They also always get the order half wrong and someone's always missing what they ordered. I was told by my kids that went to school with a few of the kids currently working there that they smoke lots of marijuana so maybe they're just so stoned they can't make the food or the order right, EVER. Literally never been to a place with such a rude service staff. The drive thru was closed so I took my kids inside, it had a few people in the dining room waiting for their orders but we were the only ones waiting to ordered. We waited 20 minutes to even be acknowledged constantly watching the staff come up to the counter but completely ignoring our existences. One of the managers handed a young gurl her food and the girl asked for her 2 drinks she ordered and the manager shook her head and rolled her eyes as if it was a burden to give the girl what she ordered. This place is hit or miss. I frequent this location often, seeing as how I live right around the corner. Most of the time, the order is correct and food is warm if not hot. Occasionally, more than i would like, the fries are cold and taste like they were cooked hours ago. The customer service isn't the best, not the worst either. They are at lease consistent with that. They are never friendly never rude either. When I get to the window only thing ever said to me is the total of my order. When I get to the next window nothing is said, they just hand me my food. If i want any condiments I have to ask for them. It is McDonald's after all. All in all it just your average McDonald's that will screw up slightly more than they should. read more

This is my second review. This Mcdonalds still sucks. It is the worst Mcdonalds hands down. Many problems with this mcdonalds over the years. I gave up on this place but decided to give it a try after months of not eating there. Ordered a double quarter pounder with cheese and the meat was strait raw. returned it and got my money back. I dont understand how there can be a long line at the drive thru that people actually want to come here. Mickey D's is not just some local burger joint with fries and shakes. It is one of the largest corporations on this Earth with a global standard for it's food and beverages. What does that mean? Every McDonalds should be rated exactly the same. Why does that not happen? Because the residency of a franchise is the most important factor in its success. Being a Discovery Bay resident, I am thankful it's here for my use and common orders include coffee, hotcakes with sausage, and sometimes dinner. I've lived here 6 years now, and this Mcdonalds never gets any better. Either they get the order wrong, which happens at least half the time, or they don't give items like the straw or napkins. This is all through the drive up window, and all 11 am to 2 pm. I can't believe they can run a restaurant like this and still survive.
