    Overcharged !
    Ron W.

Lone Star again ! After a month long boycott of this location , I went back. They overcharged me once again, on 2 different items , my Big Mac and my 6 piece nuggets . Basically a lack of training on employees at the register that barely speak English . The next boycott will be for 2 months even if they offer me free food on the next visit !

thats actually nasty i still feel the grease in my hands as i type cold nuggets but covered in oil

    Overflowing trash YUCK
    Mike S.

Service is terrible and the wait is long, your left waiting for your food with no attention from staff. The ambiance is sloppy and not clean, the floor is sticky and the trash is overflowing. The manager Jose had a line of customers waiting at the register to order without even acknowledging them at all. Furthermore, the food was completely cold by the time I received it! Terrible location, KEEP DRIVING!

We were heading home after a business dinner on the Westside on a Tuesday evening. It was getting late, and as we never had dessert, a sugar fix was in order to get us home. After many miles of driving on Ventura Blvd. from Sherman Oaks through Encino, we came upon this McDonald's. The drive-thru was open and ready for us. They were on a late shift schedule, with minimum personnel. As such, the money collection and food distribution happened at the same window. For odd reasons, neither exterior window was marked at all - not even with a header of trim to call attention to the location of the windows. I found that rather odd. I would think that when it's raining it would be very awkward to be serving with no overhead protection at all. Despite that, mission accomplished - a small McFlurry for me, and milkshake for Dear Hubby. Off we went into the night.

    Poor service

Not recommended. Extremely poor service. Few times, I have been to drive thru. Rushing to get orders, then we pay, and please keep receipt because they surely make mistakes and they don't accept it. I always keep receipts specially on this location. Then the last obstacle is getting the food. It's always missing or wrong order. I assume there should be an issue in their system when receiving orders. Then you should pay for what you asked for originally in the last window. That's why it's a longer wait time. Also I paid attention that people are screening inside there. At the second window, the new employee was helping me to pay, and a man (perhaps a supervisor) was screening at her for another issue. Then surely you have problems ! I called the number they provided at the window and on their receipt to give my feedback, no answer! Expected! Not recommended, poor service, poor management, poor knowledge of customer service.

I didn't want to lose my park at the school so I decided to walk to Alfred to grab something to eat and drink for my youngest son. It's located on Ventura Blvd so there is limited parking out front. However, there is parking on the side street Paso Robles Ave which is convenient. Walking into the coffee shop, it was clean and pretty modern, walking through the patio area first to get to the inside. The setup is nice but it's small and can get crowded fast! The people at the front register were great. They were super helpful and even joked around with my son as he was ordering. We decided to go with the bacon breakfast burrito, the turkey sandwich, the pog juice and a strawberry lemonade. The food was good and they called our name in a reasonable time so the wait wasn't bad. The only thing I feel could be better, and they may be working on this, is if they could include more food items. If they did this, it would give Starbucks a run for their money. My kids like going to Starbucks for all of their food items and we kill two birds with one stone. That may not be their goal but if I could easily grab what I need and grab them a breakfast from here in the mornings, that would eliminate several morning stops for me lol. Overall, I like Alfred! There's a lot of potential here and I'm here for it! OOOO 4 out of 5 Afros

I want to start with the positive: the staff is absolutely amazing and hard working. They're very attentive and were great. Negative: the matcha is decent (nothing amazing but also not terrible) Where I'm extremely disappointed is the partnership with Wake and Late. I order wake and late weekly through postmates but today I decided to grab a burrito from Alfreds (as they have a partnership). This is the worst idea I could have made. The burrito tasted like a slight better LAUSD breakfast burrito. There were no tots, but instead cut up potato pieces, the egg was overcooked, the steak tasted more like sausage and it felt like it was microwaved. This was genuinely the most disappointing experience I could have had.

The espresso is proper, the workers are kind, the interior is clean and not cluttered. The prices are fair and the pastries are delicious. They make daily, from-scratch pastries in small batches, ranging from mochi donuts, butter croissants, and custard-filled donuts to fresh baguette sandwiches, salads, and tons of drink selections like fresh juices, mineral waters, and lattes. The service is super friendly and incredibly fast. The system is so fun and easy: you just walk in, grab a tray and a pair of tongs, handpick your desired pastries, and head to the front. You can eat there or take them to go in a box. If you order a sandwich, they can heat it up on-site for you so you get a cheesy, warm, toasty meal. For this visit, we tried: World Cup Special Donut: A custard-filled donut topped with chocolate and shaped like a soccer ball in honor of the World Cup going on right now. The egg custard filling was so addictive and creamy--absolutely amazing! Almond Croissant: Stuffed with almond paste, covered in buttery, toasted almond slices, and dusted with powdered sugar. The flavor was fantastic! The inside could have been just a tiny bit more moist, and I always wish for more of that delicious almond filling, but it was still extremely flavorful. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Sitting outside is especially nice since you're facing busy Ventura Boulevard, making it a perfect spot to shade-sit and people-watch. Plus, it's located in a great shopping plaza, so there's plenty of parking. My only critique is that it is definitely a little overpriced, making it more of a "once-in-a-while" treat rather than a daily habit. Still, it's a truly fantastic spot if you want high-quality, fresh-baked bread and pastries~~~
