Big Mac Meal with Diet Coke
    Carla M.

When I eat McDonalds, it's at this location. Their food always comes out fresh and hot. The staff is very friendly. I ordered a Big Mac, fries, and a Diet Coke

10/4/20 Looks nice, but it is hard to see from the Fredrick Road.

10/4/20 I was informed the women's bathroom smelled like stagnant water. My wife said there was faeces on the floor of the women's bathroom. We wanted breakfast, but discovered that McDonald's has abolished the breakfast menu. Not only that, but the wonderful slushies are also gone from the menu. The large lobby sitting area is a formal shell of itself. It's a little depressing not seeing families eating, drinking and having a good time. Still the outside layout looks nice and inviting. The menu on the McDonald's board is not very impressive, but does have updated Mcflurry options. I hope the all day breakfast menu comes back. It was McDonald's biggest sell I think.

Slowest "fast" food ever. 15 minutes in a drive thru? Ain't nobody got time for that. Try another location.

It is definitely my go-to spot for a sweet treat or a special occasion cake. Pros: Self-Serve Selection: They have a massive pastry selection where you get to grab a tray and pick everything out yourself. Perfect, High-Quality Cakes: Their cakes are truly amazing. Every single one I've tried has been delicious, and they are never overly sweet, which is hard to find! The Perfect Celebration Perk: When you buy a cake, they provide a plastic knife, matches, and candles right with it. It makes it so easy for a party! Great Atmosphere: The bakery has a wonderful setup with lots of seating available. Excellent Customer Service: The staff here is always incredibly helpful and attentive. Cons: Price Point: It is on the more expensive side, but the quality of the food and the experience makes it worth it for a treat. Will return when I need a sugar fix!

The employee who gave me my drink showed it to his supervisor I guess because quite a bit of the ice had melted. He was told, "it's fine, it sat" with a who cares attitude. I was fine with the drink as I was late and I had not asked for a remake. Since it was quite diluted on top, I went over to stir the drink and remove the cover. The supervisor looked over at me then proceeded to tell the employee that it's not their problem if it's not picked up on time, they just make them when we give them a time. His attitude was very much "screw them if they are late." As I was standing right across from him, I said, "I heard you." He approached the area that leads to the dining room and said "I was talking to him, mind your business." As I have worked in customer service, managed service employees, and hire service reps, my comment to him was simply to bring awareness that his "customer" should not be witness to his complete disregard for them or their purchase. He became very aggressive and told me to get my drink and get out. I asked for his name and he refused and continued to tell me to get out and don't come back. I shared that I would be reporting his behavior and he responded, good. You are trespassed. I asked for what reason? and was told that he didn't like my attitude and that unless I didn't have a problem with him then to get out and he would call the police if I ever came back. He proceeded to tell me that he had plenty of customers and didn't need my business as he has 5 stores. Truthfully, I am happy not to return to this store or any other if this is the level of service provided by your employees. On my previous visit, I waited almost 10 minutes for my drink after it was to be ready and I had no issues or complaints with the staff. Things happen and I assume they did not hold up my drink on purpose. To not be extended the same courtesy as a paying customer is beyond mind boggling. There are too many similar bakeries in this area for me to stress over this location, but poor service bothers me and this was far beyond poor service.

La Poteria was the perfect midpoint to grab our morning caffeine fix and a bite to eat before we hit the Harpers Ferry hiking trails. The cafe was beautifully decorated with marble tables, a ton of plants, and plenty of couches and cozy armchairs. There was a ton of natural light from the giant windows, but they also had a number of aesthetic hanging lights, some of which were exposed bulbs and others of which were in little wicker baskets. As far as the food and drink goes, I loved their latte. The coffee was rich and not overly acidic, and it was strong enough that you could still appreciate the chocolatey, nutty undertones under the generous helping of steamed milk and foam. I also loved the little heart sprinkle they added in the center of the mug -- such a cute final touch! My friend and I also split two of their savory items, the cheese arepa and spinach and feta empanada. The empanada was a little different than what I was used to, as it was super flaky and buttery, with an almost croissant or puff pastry-like dough. It was delicious and the savory feta went wonderfully with the spinach and the slightly peppery mayo-based sauce they served it with. The arepa was also lovely, with a generous helping of gooey melted cheese on top of the slightly chewy, slightly sweet corn-based flatbread.

I typically take my order to go but often see people dining in. This is my go to spot for quick bite and caffeinated drink!

My husband has just gone inside to see if there will ever be a server. Update: the server eventually showed up, took our order, and dropped it off. I think not having a server was better than the food and drinks that were delivered. The "mimosa" (didn't even go for bottomless, so this is even more disappointing) was just orange juice. Check the color in the photo. $10ish for a glass of orange juice hurts my soul. Also, the pizza was soggier than my armpits on a summer day in Louisiana. But wait, there's more! We tried to get a glass of prosecco so I could mix it with my orange juice. My husband wound up going inside, ordering it and paying for it at the bar, all because the server was (once again) missing! Absolutely wild that it's faster to bypass the server when you have a table, and the place isn't even busy. Two stars because we were here another time and the server wasn't dreadful that time.

Thursday 2/15/2024…read more This place was brought to my attention due to its ice cream but it was more than that. The family room is a local based gift shop that sells plenty of things like baked goods, ice cream, chocolate bars, books, juices, soaps, candles, art, and much much more. The workers make sure you are welcomed and are happy to help with anything you need. I ended up getting a cinnamon roll $6, brownie $6, a s'mores choclate bar $4.50, and a 'C is for cookie' (pre packed) ice cream pint $7.49. The cinnamon roll and brownie come from Ella's bake shop and they surprised me. The cinnamon roll gave me low expectations based on how it looked but I was highly impressed to say the least. I had the cinnamon roll at room temperature & warmed it up and it very was good, I would definitely get it again. The brownie also gave me low expectations based on looks but yet again I was impressed. The brownie was good: moist and had chocolate chips in it. The s'mores chocolate bar came from Hammonds and it was alright but overpriced in my opinion. When it comes to the ice cream they have fresh ice cream available and ice cream pre packed. I ended up sampling C is for cookie (cookies n cream + cookie dough), vanilla, and chocolate. C is for cookie ended up being my favorite of the 3 so I decided to get a prepacked pint of it which was a noticeable dip in taste & texture compared to the fresh ice cream I had before but I know better next time. The family room is a nice find that I would recommend and would return to for the delicious baked goods & FRESH ice cream.

I also checked out their new patio while I was there. The area itself has a few tables and chairs, but the covered section can only probably seat 6 or 7 folks. Still good to have.
