Well I know we're talking about McDonald's here but come on...how hard is it to make something "fresh" if requested by your customers? We just picked up a couple burgers and fries through the drive thru and my man requested FRESH fries... Ok besides the fact that both fries were only half full when we opened the bag...they were definitely not fresh and you could clearly see that they had been sitting for a long while...nice and crusty looking and cold! Thank god we don't go here very often anymore. As far as McDonald's goes this one pretty much sucks. Because mostly all McDonald's are the same food-wise, this review is about the customer service (or lack thereof). Of the three McDonald's in Gilroy, this one is the worst by a wide margin. - Employees are rude and speak only in Spanish. I understand the language, but it's still rude to those who do not. - Employees are terribly trained. They will not acknowledge you until a line starts to form and frequently have to pause and re-do their entries into the cash register. - The cashier (a girl with a black nose ring) rolled her eyes once when I requested a special order. Even worse was that she didn't own it when I called her out. - Frequent order mishaps. I always am sure to double check that they got the order right before I leave, it saves you time and hassle. - They need to deal with loitering in the outdoor dining area. Every once in a while, you want to eat outdoors there. You can do that if you feel like sitting with the biker teens and homeless people who take up a good deal of space, but most of the time I do not. read more

I normally don't eat this stuff but today was an exception. Employees were great. I got a four piece mini meal. I asked for unsalted fries but they were /still old and stale. I can't understand how that happened because I assumed that when you ask for no salt you would get a fresh batch. I say that because normally you see them shake the salt all over the fries. I eat McDonald's maybe twice a year. Went there today to take advantage of the $1 any size beverage deal, because I gotta get my diet coke fix from time to time! When the girl at the drive thru window handed it to me, the outside was completely soaked with soda. She didn't try to wipe it off or offer me a napkin, just stuck the soda-soaked cup into my hand. Not the best service, even for a McD's. If you need to taste the forbidden magic of a McMuffin, or you want to get a giant cup of coffee for $1, this is the place. First time here. Just ordered one large fry through the drive thru. The lady at the first window not even acknowledges you and the the second window lady just plain rude. Waited for 10 minutes for fries and asked for ranch and barbecue and she said she had to charge me 3 cents for the rest which is cool with me but for the time me and the other car waited she soils have gave it to me for free. This place is a Joke . I placed my order in the drive-Thru . Was asked to park for 7min .. 20 mi. Later my order was not ready and the employees couldn't figure out why ? Really??? Anyways once I found a manager she said she would get my order . When I get home my order is wrong . So I call and explain the order was not correct . The McNuggets still haven't lost their luster after forty years in existence. Who doesn't like a McFlurry on a summer day? There's something on that menu you crave and you know it. I haven't honestly eaten at a McDonald's for over a year. It's a place of fond memories for anyone who has grown up in America though. Just the Happy Meal has legendary status in our hearts and minds. Yes the food is pretty awful, yet our taste buds have been cultured to find comfort in at least a few of their options throughout the years. Mickey's D's apple pies, anyone? You know you just popped wood thinking about those god forsaken pies. I just have one major complaint/question to the McDonald's food scientists who chemically, and artificially manufacture the food in the laboratory. Why does the food have to smell almost identical on the way out as it did going in? It doesn't matter who eats it or which gastrointestinal tract it travels through, all the gas slips out smelling the same. Nobody can point the finger and anybody else or complain because everyone's gaseous from the asseous is virtually identical. In a room full of people eating McD's and breaking wind, everyone can sit in peace and marinate in the fast food flatulence fog. Yet the question remains, why does it smell the same both going IN and OUT? In order to deal with this query in a psychologically healthy way, I have decided that the food doesn't smell wonderful on the intake, but relatively speaking, it doesn't smell that bad during the exit. In other words, I am not repulsed and I do not lose my appetite when my 320 lb friend Jeff finishes two Big Macs, stands up, and rips a juicer in my face while I'm inhaling my next breath and taking a bite of my quarter pounder with cheese. I will commend McDonald's for creating this miraculous marvel of the digestive realm. I ordered a happy meal and chicken tenders inside. After a 32 minute wait, I went to see what was taking so long and someone took our happy meal, and our chicken tenders still weren't ready. Never been talked to by a restaurant employee as I was today while I was attempting to pick up an order from the McDonalds on 1st in Gilroy California. I stepped in the door where it was being blocked by a table. This is due to new restrictions by the health dept. an employee at the service counter yelled at me that the order would be brought out I don't. I said he didn't have to speak with me like that. I go to this location minimum 3x a week. If the drive thru is busy I do recommend checking your order last time we had a big order with a double quarter pounder and when we got home it was a single. There is no changing table in the ladies room. read more

This 1st street location does not even earns a star. I start at 4 am in the morning and want to get a coffee.I go there at 3:15 am and 2x the drive through (24 hours open) is coned off! Went through the drive thru about 30 minutes ago and ordered a 20 piece meal with ranch and a crispy snack wrap. Get my order and I think everything for the most part was good; and I asked for just one extra ranch, no problem, the guy gave me my extra ranch. It wasn't till I searched my bag for the snack wrap and took my first bite into it that I realized they gave me grilled chicken instead of crispy. Mcdonalds grilled chicken makes me sick instantly, I don't know why, it just always has; it's never sat well with me and sometimes I even throw up from it. So I park and toss the snack wrap back in the bag and that's when I saw that I only had one sauce for my nuggets, which was the sauce the guy handed to me. She condescendingly tells me that she has the order "in her head" and to drive up to the window. I get my order and guess what? It was wrong!
