Since the three of us in our group aren't big eaters, we asked to split a portion of everything we ordered, and she didn't blink an eye. We started with the BBQ shrimp, which was fantastic! It's not a heavy, traditional BBQ flavor--it's more of a rich, New Orleans-style sauce. With six shrimp total, it was perfect for splitting, especially with the delicious bread served alongside it to soak up that amazing sauce. Nom!! Two of us split the wedge salad, and Brittany happily accommodated our special request for ranch instead of blue cheese. Our other friend had the kale salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. For the main course, the three of us split the filet mignon, which came with a dollop of mashed potatoes. The char on the steak was absolutely fabulous, and the potatoes paired with it perfectly! The restaurant is fairly dark and can get a bit noisy on busy nights, but we enjoyed our time immensely. Grand Marlin has private rooms and is easily the most high-end restaurant on Pensacola Beach. The history, the food, the fun, the ambiance... everything was superb. Since the three of us aren't huge eaters, we decided to split the calamari, the Tuesday meatloaf special, and their famous 18-cent bean soup. Everything was pure perfection! The huge portions and delicious flavors absolutely made our day. (Side note: I am not a meatloaf person, but theirs is fabulous!) Beyond the food, the experience is unmatched. There are endless photo ops, great themed rooms to explore, and a great gift shop. Pro tip: Don't forget to kiss the moose and pin a dollar bill to the wall with the other 3.2 MILLION already there.
