Crossposting because this needs to be said and anyone that thinks of coming here will consider otherwise. This location is very unsanitary and I waited over 30 minutes in line to not receive my order. I ordered my food and then proceeded to pull ahead to wait 20 minutes then saw that everyone that was behind me received their food first. I saw an employee pass around a bag of food between multiple cars with ungloved hands and no mask because he didn't know which person to give it to and even proceeded to put his hands in the bag to check what food was in there. I have never seen anyone so unsanitary while handling food. Regardless of this pandemic I will never come back to this location again. They 'misheard' me the first time when I said I wanted a refund because she took my receipt and then lost it. After a few minutes came back again and asked if there was anything they could do like she was trying to do all she could not to issue a refund. The manager herself was even coughing, she had a mask on but Mcdonalds should be taking more precautions and have their employees take them seriously. These employees are only furthering the COVID-19 spread. After an additional 10 minutes I finally received my refund. TLDR; there was nothing FAST about this "fast food" restaurant. If you want to stay healthy and not die of old age then go to another location. read more

I don't quite understand the low ratings of some of the reviews I see here. I stop at this restaurant nearly every morning and have seen first hand how well run it is. The service is prompt and very friendly and the food is always hot and fresh. And - very important! - the coffee is excellent. I found out just *how* good this restaurant is managed compared to others recently when I had to go to another nearby McDonalds due to a water main issue and found the service, food and coffee quality was *far* below that of the Haymarket McDonalds. I've noticed the same thing with other McDonalds I've visited. So, taken by itself or in comparison to other McDonalds, the Haymarket McDonalds is top notch. 4:30 on Sunday eve. Restaurant not busy as not but a couple people inside...so why would there be messy tables. Not one clean booth table. there were two seat tables but all the others dirty... No sweet tea no ketchup in dispensers. Not coming back to this location again had to ask for a clean table. Workers only as good as the manager in charge. Absolutely the worst customer service!! I pull to the drive through and the women taking my order seemed Irritated that I'm even ordering. Yes it was late at night but seriously?? I gave the women my card and was trying to ask for sauce and she shut the window right in my face. I then waited ten minutes for my food which is fine it's late. I finally received my food and the women is not paying attention and almost drops my food. I then receive my drinks and the lady hands me one medium and one large drink when I ordered two large drinks. I tell her that I ordered both large and she argues that I ordered a medium very rudely. The Gainesville McDonalds is probably the worst location to use the curbside mobile order option. I ordered an iced coffee and waited 10 minutes before going inside. The iced coffee was sitting on the counter just waiting for me to either come in or someone to deliver. I don't know why I am complaining because Fe (pronounced Fay) who operates this location along with five other locations will pay YELP to hide my valuable and reliable review with all the rest of my valuable and reliable reviews that have been hidden. I use to go to this McDonalds a lot. I stupidly spent horrendous amounts of $ here even with all their problems. None of them can say that I never gave them a chance to improve. I stopped going to this McDonalds for several months because they started serving me raw and frozen food. The management thought it was funny and praised their employees for it. I figured by not spending "goo-goo's" of money, their profit would go down a hair, but maybe would be enough to get them to straiten up. After several months, I returned. Again, they take the food out of the freezer and slam it on my tray, and laugh. So, I avoided McDonalds again for several more months. I went back about one month ago and ordered two apple pies. They had taken a batch of apple pies out of the freezer and left them on the counter somewhere in the back to thaw. Once they thawed, the employee boxed them uncooked and put them in the container that they store pies in that are ready to be sold. My two pies were raw and ice cold. Management doesn't care, and honestly, I doubt that the Town of Haymarket officials, Prince William County officials, State of Virginia officials, and the Feds even care about the food safety and health violations taking place at this location. I haven't been back since. and I have no desire to go back to contract food poisoning and/or some contagious disease. read more

I'd give them 0 stars if I could. They never have ice cream when we want shakes and they mess up our orders quite frequently. They really don't care if they hear you or if you can hear them over the PA system either. They seem friendly enough when you get up to the window, but it's always a hit-or-miss when we try to go there for anything. read more

Every time I have gone here the line so is excruciatingly long that several times including last night I just pulled out and left (as I was sitting there so long before the point of no return--where you cannot just leave the line). As a matter of fact they used to have me routinely pull ahead and give me one of those egg shaped coupons for a free McMuffin they were so long. This last experience was on the heels of yet another experience of a rude McDonald's worker at this location. I drove up as it was hot and I felt like a hot fudge sundae. I barely got out "I would like one hot fudge sundae and that is it" before the man barked back at me "NO ICE CREAM". That was exactly what he said. Also they may think that they speeding things up by practically throwing the bag out the window at you upon arrival at the second and final window but I find that just unprofessional. Why not just put a clothes line out there and pin my bag to it. I can grab it as I drive by. It would be just as hospitable. My last comment on this place is the location. Who thought up of the idea of having the drive thru lane true right immediately into a single lane of oncoming traffic? I can't tell you how many times I have almost been hit as it is not clear that that is a pass thru lane parallel to the drive thru. Just absurd. Anyway I go to Marshall if I want McDonald's or even Gainesville. Must better experiences. And I live out this way for the rural (or what used to be) natural setting. So driving to Marshall has that added bonus to it. read more

If I could give this a negative score I would, but 1 star is the lowest rating. This is by far the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. The staff likes to treat you like they are doing you a favor and you just disturbed them at work. I rarely ever get a friendly employee to help me, the place is dirty and gross. They must clean the place once a day and there are always flies in there. Not sure how this place stays open, especially being across from a place that knows how to treat their customers. First off this location need to be updated. It is very outdated and dirty. They constantly mess up orders or have you pull up to wait long periods of time to recieve your order. Ok i used to go to this Mcdonalds all the time. Usually the drive thru. The staff is very friendly. I always get a vanilla ice coffee. The last time two times there has been bugs in my Vanilla Ice Coffee. Clearly they have a problem at this place. read more

Ok so i have lived in the area even before that McDonalds was built. Every time i go, they get my order wrong. The final straw was when i ordered one (1) McChicken and got a bag with a small fry and two cheeseburgers in it... BUT i gave them one more chance and the new middle eastern guy working the night shift is legit. Speedy and got my order right. 3 times in a row so far. So im hoping he stays. Things have really gone downhill at this location. Restaurant was filthy, ice machine not working and the service is abysmal. My food was sitting behind the county but right in front of the manager who had her back to me. My food was right in front of her...but she stood there texting on her cell phone while my food just sat there in front of her. When I finally said something she seemed startled as if she had no idea that my food was sitting right in front of her. OK let me tell you...there is Zero fast food at this location. I spent over 35 minutes in the friggn drive thru. The person in front of me was either ordering for the whole little league team or there was a dolt taking the orders!!!! He was not very customers friendly by the time I got my turn to order. Forget about trying to go inside because there can be no one in line and it still take forever to get your food. After we finally made it to the window they were going over the order and obviously it was all wrong and still myself and the long line of vehicles behind me had to again wait until this nutzo order was straightened out. Whatever happened to having the vehicle pull forward and let the remaining customers get their cheap meal and go.....tank of gas 40 something dollars don't seem its worth burning that much gas to get so called fast food.
