This McDonald's is by far one of the worst I've been to. There is always a long drive thru line, because they take like 10 minutes to serve each person. I ordered only a smoothie, and the server at window told me to wait in drive thru spot 1. After 25 minutes, I walk inside and ask about my order. It had been on their counter the whole time, and the window jerk just laughed. He asked me to park with no intention of ever getting me my order. He even got a laugh out of it. You have to take a grain of salt when thinking about your expectations of a McDonald's. You have minimum wage workers serving unarguably cheap food to you because you want calories in a hurry. In other words, sub-par experiences at McDonald's can kind of be chalked up to "Dude, you're eating at freaking McDonald's; what'd you expect?" So normally I wouldn't write a review about a fast food joint, but dammit man, this location has 100% consistently let me down. Again, I don't expect much from McDonald's, so when they warrant the time to write a negative review, trust me, they've dropped the ball. Often. Always. The food has been tepid most times we've been here; like, you know when you get that cheeseburger and the slice of processed American cheese is perfectly square and not gooey or melty or even a little warmly limp? Think that, but all the time. We've gotten Happy Meals twice; once they forgot the milk and sauce for McNuggets. The next time they forgot both of those AND the toy and apple slices. I literally got McNuggets and fries in a bag. When we asked for an under 3 toy, we've been told this location is either out or doesn't carry them. (This is probably karma for letting our kids eat this stuff.) One day we went through the drive-thru and handed a gift card and credit card to the cashier. My wife asked her to use up the gift card and put the remainder on the credit card. The cashier proceeded to ignore the request and put the whole purchase on the cc. Honest mistake? "I went ahead and put it on your credit card, so you can use the gift card next time," she said. We didn't want to use it next time! So, ho-hum McDonald's, but boo! this location. read more

A while back when I stopped by this McDonald's location for breakfast several times around 7 a.m. - the staff seemed to really have a good flow to them to get orders out and to get people through the drive-thru with no significant wait time. The last several times I've come to this location after 5 a.m. --even with several staff members inside the location, it takes several minutes just to get a soda or even for them to address those waiting. read more

We sat fifteen minutes before we even got to the order board, saw at least four or five cars come and go because it was taking too long. Once we got to the second order box because there was only one person taking orders there was silence for about two minutes. Once she began taking the order we got a lot of HUH very loudly after we'd already stated the order but she clearly wasn't listening. Took another fifteen minutes to get to the cashier but you know once you pass the order box there is no going back in a drive-thru so we were in it for the long haul. Once we paid and received our food and checked to make sure it was indeed our food, we left. Mind you I saw one woman get out of her car, go inside, get food and back in her car in about five minutes so clearly the inside diners were more important than the drive-thru. I live close by and have come here often. However, lately it's just gotten worse and worse so I felt compelled to write something. Okay, I get that food can be old and disgusting where they made a burger and kept it on the heater for too long, that happens to me here sometimes, they're not following their procedures and serve you old food. I can live with that, it's McDonald's, what more can you ask for, but what got me is that they recently remodeled the place and the following series of events has happened to me on three separate occasions. I walk in, the cashier says I can't help you, use the automated registers (w/screens). So, I place my order there and the credit card machine OR the printer is broken. I either can't pay for it or I don't know if it went through. Then I tell the cashier at which point she gives a big "*sigh" and says in a defeated manner that she will help me. I get my food and it contains the wrong items. Sorry, once is bad, two times, shame on you, three times, I'm an idiot for returning. Wrong food and a cashier that is reluctant to help you. This McDonalds is the worst it has made me decide to swear off McDonald's. Burned burgers, wrong order, something is wrong every time. A couple days ago they charged me for a double quarter pounder and brought me a single instead. It says "guaranteed fresh" but it definitely wasn't it tasted like dog food I imagine. On October 27, 2023 around 8pm my friend and I went to mcdonald's drive thru after work and while we were ordering the person that was taking our order wasn't patient whatsoever after every item we ordered she would repeatedly say "anything else" in such a harsh tone, but that was just the first problem that had happened in that night but later we got our order and went home thinking we got exactly what we ordered, and mind you we did check and there were the correct number of items but since the wrappers looked the same we figured they gave us what we asked for. No they didn't, we got home and discovered that they gave us the wrong order and normally I would just look the other way on a small mistake , but this wasn't the case, unfortunately this isn't the first time they have gotten such a simple order wrong so I decided to go back and discuss this with the manager. Around 8:30 pm my friend and I went back to the McDonald's, went inside this time and asked for the manager. After waiting for a while she finally came and while she faced us she immediately looked annoying probably thinking "what do they want" we told her what had happened and how this isn't the first time in a respectful way, not even a second later after finishing she asked us for a receipt, but we didn't ask for one when we payed for our order but we reassured her that we came not so long after the incident happened and remembered what we ordered and then asked us what we ordered and walked away and keep in mind she has a annoyed face the whole time we're talking to her in a respectful tone and while this was happening her employees in the back were taking bad about us like we pointed out who were the ones that served us, which I could've of but I didn't. After the manager left she came back with our food and pushed it to the front of the front counter in such a disrespectful way then walked off. I am truly disappointed and have felt disrespected. The manager obviously doesn't care about the way her employees act, and the way this business is ran, you can definitely see that the staff reflects the way the manager is like. I would go to another McDonald's but since I can't drive well at night, when I get off from work this is the closest McDonald's that there is. Don't be surprised if you go and you get your order wrong and the manager could care less. read more

2 stars because the food was fine and consistent with what i expect from mcdonalds. These people are so incredibly slow. I ordered 2 bigmacs, and a 20 pc large meal. 15 minutes later i started trying to ask about my order. I said excuse me at least 3 times to at least 2 different people before I even got anyone's attention. When I finally did it turned out the order was just sitting there ready to go but no one called my number. Though when they finally brought it out I was still missing fries which were on the ticket. This is at least the second time in a row I've waited 15 minutes or more on an order at this location. As someone who has worked in pizza, and restaurant chains all my work life, I don't understand how that ticket time on this kind of food is possible. Even considering how busy it was. There were a handful of other signs of poor management i spotted that I'd rather not get into. I did get an apple pie for my troubles. The food was assembled reasonably well. The worst Mcdonalds is at 2475 Centerville Rd, Herndon. I went at 11:30 pm on June 8th, sat at drive through with no other cars waiting and no customers inside the store for about 5 minutes while i was saying "hello". I drive up to the pay window, no one there, so i drive up to the lick up window and i tell a young man that i had been waiting at drive through and the shift manager hears me and comes and says they were too busy and that's why no one answered the drive through. However, i was the only drive through customer and there was no one in the actual restaurant, and i saw 4 employees in there fooling around. I then asked him if they were too busy to serve customers and he said... YES! So i drive off and when i got home i decided to call the place because it seem extremely unprofessional and Young last picks up laughing uncontrollably and when I asked of they were having a party there she gave the phone to a man who sounded like the "manager" Who had just lied to me and told me they were too busy to serve customers. He greeting was, "What do you want" I explained what i has just experienced and he hung up on me... i have never received such poor service in my life. Just cause its Mcd doesn't mean i should expect poor service. A true embarrassment of a restaurant. Wow, open 24 hours! Now that's incredible even for a McDonalds as many are exploring shortening hours. It's in an incredible and delightful plaza and the facility itself has high-capacity and easy-to-use drive-thru lanes. Friendly and warm service with smiles all around. Terrible drive thru service. Waited for 20+ minutes for a simple order. No apologies or explanations other than they had the wrong order for one of the cars. They should have had that car park in one of the reservation spots to keep the drive thru lane moving. Staff didn't seem to care or have any sense of urgency with the long backup of cars. This occurred at 9pm on Dec. 13th, 2018. That drive thru staff needs re-training. read more
