This McDonalds is super busy and honestly I don't really eat the food at McDonalds anywhere anymore. I like the frappes, fries and hashbrowns... the healthy stuff.. Anyways the people are friendly here -- the customers not so much but tis Fairfax County... no offense meant... While I was about six months pregnant I was in the drive thru and told my food wasnt ready so they told me to pull into this side slot at the end of the drive thru which coincidently blocks a walkway for pedestrians and I had this obnoxious man come screaming at me that I shouldnt be there and no reasoning would get through as he obviously just wanted to pick a fight with anyone no consideration to a pregnant woman... i digress, but this is the one time this McDonalds failed me as they took forever to get me basic items and all they did was stare while this man went crazy. Definitely the worst McDonald ever I had in my life! Last week went there asked for orange juice and sausage mcmuffin got the sausage mcmuffin and iced tea. It was punched on my receipt that I've ordered for orange juice. Second chance, did a drive thru asked for 20 pieces chicken nuggets got 10 pieces. Worst McDonalds in the country. I've lived in this area for ten years and avoid this location based on reputation, though sometimes it is the only spot open/on my route. Today was no exception to the poor service and substandard food - drive through operator could not understand my question (what brand root beer do you have?) no matter how many ways I phrased it and finally lost her temper at me huffing "I don't know!" Employees should always know the products they are selling. My large fries were barely 3/4 full and had no discernable salt on them. I think I'm in the majority when I say you go to McD's for the salty fries! The apple pie I ordered, at 4pm, had a large "use by 9:44AM" sticker on it. If you are going to label food "use by" do not sell it after the time has passed!!!! I don't care how hungry you are, go to the 24 hour Harris Teeter up the road instead. My expectations are not high when going into a McDonald's, but this location is spectacularly miserable: Sticky floors, cold burgers with old shriveled patties and completely unmelted cheese... all layered with a heavy air of apathy/depression amongst the staff as a coping mechanism. Well, I used to go here much more than I do these days. But When i used to order burgers they were pretty consistent. You get the same thing in every Mcdonald's. But my problem is with their way of making the Oatmeal. It is hit or miss. Sometimes it's made good and then the other time you get a soup. Why would someone put soooooo much water in a oatmeal, i just can not understand. I was sent from the drive-thru to the curbside pickup area, where they forgot about me. So I went inside to remind them about my order, which did not even come with everything I ordered. I grew up around Herndon and this Mcdonalds has always been a go to spot for my family and I. The place has been renovated a lot since and has really improved over all in customer service. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to come back for a quick snack before a road trip. read more

Just for the fact it is the McDonald's I'm giving it one last star than my usual five star rating of most places. Other than the fact that is a McDonald's, is actually one of the cleaner and nicest McDonald's I've been to. It is quite small but it does have a drive-through and does have nice new flat screens and sitting areas. When I've been in the area at some of those bars late at night and want some food sometimes this place is been open and then just what I wanted despite not being the most healthy option. Perhaps that is also why don't like it because it gives you a reason to give them the temp temptation. There's almost always a line here, at least in the drive-through, so it often be late to meetings waiting for freaking McDonald's. read more

BOGO Filet O Fish - need I say more? I'm not a regular patron of the arches, but whenever Mickey D's runs this special, I make a couple trips for these. It's a better quality fish sandwich than you typically get at the fast food paces that "specialize" in fish. Add pickle, and it's one of my guilty pleasures of fast food. So while my wife went to the Tropical Smoothie across the way for dinner, I just wasn't feeling it and headed to MD's. It's your typical McDonald's - fairly clean, efficient, nothing special and nothing unusual. They get my "standard" McDonald's rating of three stars. read more

It's currently 3 in the morning, I spent 28 minutes in the Drive-Thru to get a number 1 with two cheeseburgers and a snack wrap. I was told cash only in between the blaring of Hispanic music in the background, making it barely possible to hear the attendant. Initially when I arrived I was told cash only, so I had to drive to the local ATM to get cash, and when I returned they were surprised to hear I had cash and reluctantly took my order with several mistakes having to be corrected several times. By my calculation I was shorted about $0.35 and change, and when I asked for a receipt I was told there isn't one. After about 28 minutes, being the only car in the drive thru, I received my order missing some food, and had to return and explained my case, which was difficult because they did not even have the receipt for it. If I hadn't eaten all day and this literally wasn't the only place open, I wouldn't have come because of its track record of really shity service, but next time I'd rather eat dogshit or go hungry for the night then have to come to this god-awful establishment. And reading a lot of these reviews, I see that nothing has changed, as many of my grievances have been around for the last 2 or 3 years at the least read more

Like all other McDonalds this place is flooded with people all the time, the service is always impersonal and sub par, and the food, well the food never, ever, ever looks the way it does in the picture. The wow factor of this place is they have an extremely long drive thru line all the time and they have one of the employees (hopefully one of the English speaking ones) walk to the cars and take orders on an iPad like tablet device. read more

This is more of a review of this specific location rather than the actual food. The food is standard McDonald's fare. That being said, I'm pretty sure I have gotten through this drive thru in less than a minute, and it's definitely always been less than five minutes regardless of how long the line is. My food is always hot and I always get exactly what I ordered. I think magic may be involved. This used to be my go to McDonalds in the morning but too many times recently and everyday for the past week, the soda has tasted flat or watered down. I used to be able to see my coke getting filled as I pulled up to the 2nd window. Now when I pull up they just grab a coke off the counter that apparently was filled earlier and has been sitting there. As if they fill up a bunch and set them aside to save time when customers come through. The problem is that it's not fresh and tastes terrible. This is the worst McDonald's In the area. I have been to this location 3 times and each time something was wrong. The first 2 times I went, I ended up getting sick and both times I got chicken nuggets and fries. The fries were cold and the nuggets didn't taste right. Why do I torture myself by revisiting this McDonald's drive through? Historically, it is a place of dysfunction and despair. I endured the managers with the hospitality manners of willing war criminals, the staff that would consistently forget components in my orders exceeding 3 items and witnessing what appeared to be a perfectly sane, well-dressed gentleman, on what I had assumed was maybe his lunch break, shitting in (at the time) the only urinal--and the response from the employee who walked in seconds after me: walking back out after seeing this and casually continuing with their job. Still I returned, however; today was the single fry that broke the camels cholesterol level. I did what no human who cares about their body should do; I ordered the new Caramel Turtle ICED COFFEE twice; once on my way in to work around 9 AM and once on my way home. It was exactly what I expected: decadent, saturated in all the bad fats and sugars leaving my body feeling full and my useful calories in a deep deficit. I went through my day as per usual, and on my way home insanity struck me. I decided to get another drink. I make my way to the same sorry McDonalds, a mere 8 hours and 45 minutes after my last visit and order the same exact thing. The person on the other end, confused by my order, asks me to pull up. As I sit there at the payment window and the attendant explains to me that there is in fact now Caramel Turtle ICED COFFEE, only a Caramel Turtle MACCHIATO, I calmly explain that the display outside does show that there is an ice coffee variant, and present my receipt from the earlier transaction that I had fortunately left in my driver side door pocket. Her response? "No." I must have been mistaken, the morning attendant must have rang up the wrong item. There was no chance I was getting my choice of drink, in a matter of hours it hadn't been recalled, nor had the components ran out and it was simply impossible to make until this particular McDonald's received its next shipment of supplies, no. What I was after ceased to exist. I thought this was bad enough, but the person at the window saw an opportunity to inflict even more grief by refusing to return my card to me until I acknowledged that the macchiato was the true format of the drink after all. After refusing to order and threatening to come inside and speaking to the manager I was met with a scoff and my card was returned to me. Clearly it was a mistake to think it would be ok to get this concoction a second time in the same day. Learn from my pain and drive several miles down the Centreville Road in either direction and choose an alternative McDonalds. read more

It starts with the operator who doesn't speak English very well and is extremely difficult to understand when communicating the order. I'm willing to work through that, but the terrible food I'm not. Fries that are cold and limp. God knows how long they've been sitting out in the tray. And, probably worse of all, no napkins with the drive through order. So not only have I had one bad customer service experience with them but even after speaking to their regional manager it seems like they still dont get the hint. So this is the closest place to me when I cant get breakfast in the morning and everytime the one person on the second window before giving me my food has to ask me what i ordered i repeat it about 3 or 4 times and then i still get an attitude from their employee. My suggestion is if youre not a morning person ask to be transfer to afternoon. Ive given this restaurant too many chances to the point where I DO NOT recommend it to anyone. This is my closest Mcdonalds. I go about once a week. Customer service is garbage most of the time. This is fast food, but one day had a hash brown that dripped grease onto my pants as I pulled it out. On another occasion the ice coffee was more like water with a dash of coffee. When asked to replace it the old Latina lady gave me an attitude and gave me some push back on fulfilling my polite request. When I got the 2nd Ice coffee and tasted it, the coffee was worst than the first. Filing a complaint with the BBB today. These are just a few instances. read more

I see a lot of reviews here about how slow it is here and I can confirm that this is the SLOWEST fast food place I've ever been to. But the real reason that I felt compelled to review a Mcdonalds is because I was served UNDERCOOKED chicken tenders. I didn't think this was possible because I thought most of what you get at a Mcdonalds is precooked and basically just heated up in store. And to top it off, when we brought the uncooked tender to the cashier to complain, he chuckled at it, as if he wasn't surprised to see it. Even without the salmonella and excessive waiting (we spent 48 mins waiting), this was also one of the filthiest Mcdonalds I've ever been to. There were flies everywhere.
