The McDonald's in Highland is incredibly convenient, especially being right off the freeway, and it's consistently clean. The drive thru here is phenomenal and moves quickly, with delays being pretty rare, which is impressive for such a busy spot. Inside is a different story though, since in restaurant dining definitely seems deprioritized and it can take a while to get anyone's attention for help. Still, this is McDonald's, so I know exactly what I'm getting when I stop here. I had a very disappointing experience at this McDonald's after picking up my son from school. We ordered a #1 meal (Big Mac meal, large, with orange juice), a plain cheeseburger with only cheese and ketchup, and a 20-piece McNugget. When I got to the drive-thru window, I was given two cheeseburgers instead of the Big Mac, and the fries were not even half full. I informed the employee that my order should have included a Big Mac. She asked if I still wanted it, and I said yes because that was what I originally ordered. I was charged separately for the Big Mac, which was fine since I wanted the correct item. The employee then told me to park in spot #3 and wait. Before pulling away, I asked if I could take the orange juice that was sitting right in front of her because I knew it was part of my order. She told me "No" and said they would bring everything out together. After waiting, the fat blond employee lady came out with only the Big Mac. I politely asked about the orange juice because my son had been waiting for it. She rolled her eyes, asked what size it was, and walked away with an attitude even after I showed her the receipt. We waited a long time just for the orange juice. When she finally returned, she claimed that I had not paid for everything I ordered. I showed her both receipts and explained that I had been charged twice. Instead of apologizing for the confusion, she continued to argue. At that point, I went inside with my son and spoke to the manager. I showed him both receipts and my bank transaction showing the charges. The manager remained calm and tried to resolve the situation, which I appreciated. However, the employee continued smirking and saying that I was being too loud, even though I was understandably upset after being accused of not paying for food that I clearly had paid for. What should have been a simple meal with my son turned into a frustrating experience because of poor customer service and unprofessional behavior. The manager handled the situation much better than the employee, but the overall experience was unacceptable. Based on this visit, I cannot recommend this location. Drive through was supposed to be open at 4:30 as the hours are listed outside the store. At 4:35 am May 22nd, a very rude woman over the ordering screen said they will not do any food. Restaurant was dirty. The men's bathroom was filthy, looked like it hasn't been cleaned in a while, no soap and the dispenser was broken half of it laying on the counter. That was just the beginning, I then ordered two kids meals and a quarter pounder hamburger. After 25 minutes I asked the worker who took our order where it was at? He looked at the manager and they had completely skipped over us. The manager was unapologetic and had a look on her face like she hated her job. I asked for a refund and left. Food and services--I was asked to wait for my food after going through the drive thru. I waited over 30 minutes. I had to flag down an employee to ask for my food. He came back twice with the wrong order. Then another female employee came out who was rude and she had the wrong order! Needless to say they had my receipt with the items listed. Went in this morning, drive thru. Ordered 2 #8 meals. (2sausage McMuffin meals) Was given 2sandwiches 2 potatoes and 2 drinks. When I inquired of my other sandwiches they said I ordered 2 #2s. Had to get out of my car and go inside to correct the problem. Very rude drive thru attendant. Doesn't know how to add. Or listen. I chose drive thru not to have to get out of my vehicle. (2) Is the (collective) management of this store attempting to control the public's expressed opinions about their experience from this location by using "MINORS" as subject of excuse to intimidate customers, thereby openly shame the customers under this "argument" - therefore REQUIRED to ASK management for PERMISSION prior to taking photographs of the MENU BOARD, exterior, food, and overall interior upkeep of the facility? (3) WHAT ARE THESE CUSTOMER POLICIES of the store (if a Franchise or Corporate guidelines) requiring customers to be subjected to RESTRICTIONS therefore NULLIFY the very basic principles of CUSTOMER SERVICE? Are these policies publicly posted? Are they ratified and endorsed by upper management? My husband and I planned to spend over $100 on this visit because of our fishing expedition trip at Big Bear. McD was going to be our picnic fare for the day. I thought this mcDonald's was very clean and the staff very efficient. It was very busy and the customers flowed through easily. Unfortunately, because of the State of California's $20 minimum wage, there are kiosks to do all your ordering and payment, thereby eliminating positions. It was easy to do and the staff was excellent and very pleasant. Food was very good. They even have classical music while you enjoy your meal. Bathrooms were clean. It's Thursday October 10, 2024 at about 8:30pm. Pulled into the parking lot to find a two lane drive- thru full and wrapped into the parking lot. Most of the parking was also full, I did find a spot and went in. Inside was busy, but nothing like the drive-thru. I ordered using their mobil app. Got my order in less than five minutes. Great job. The food was hot and fresh. The $40.00 order was correct along with the napkins and condiments. As busy as it was, the restaurant was very clean and the people there was friendly. read more
