Well, they got the new McDs up and running since I was last here. It's a little smaller now but with good wifi and a bunch of seats that have power outlets if you need one. Downside is prices are a little high, even by Elko standards, and they don't seem to do any national deals. Worst Service ever. Was in the drive thru and ordered. Got home and realized I was missing half the food, especially the part that was for my pregnant wife. Drive back, go inside and explain to them that I'm missing half my food and I didn't receive a receipt either. The gentleman in the front was willing to help but apparently the "manager" yells back from the window saying I need a receipt. I say you didn't give me a receipt. She tells the gentleman to tell me that I can leave. I tell him I was just here and can't he go back and look at the orders? And I'm pretty sure they'll be able to tell what I'm missing. He goes and tries his best and comes back and says she won't do anything and doesn't want to help me and apparently she's the "manager" Some dumb name like Fey or Feye. Like why would I go home and rush back to get food for my pregnant wife to scam a couple burgers and fries? Also a happy meal for my kid. Probably wasted more money driving around. Website said closes at 10. Following a VERY long travel day which ended with a broken down vehicle and tow from Oasis all the way to Elko, my coworker and I were starving. It was only 9:40, so we thought we would at least have McDonald's as an option. Drive thru obviously not an option due to lack of vehicle, but the lobby doors were locked when the lobby sign clearly stated they closed at 10. Very disappointing for 2 girls who had a long day and just wanted some semblance of "food!" We ended up eating pizza hot pockets from the Chevron. Nice work. read more

Leaving Elko early one morning I wanted a quick bite to eat and figured McDonald's is not the greatest food but usually reliable. Strike one; You order from a kiosk and not in person. Strike two; when the food was placed on the counter my number was announced and the women just walked away without looking at me or saying anything but my number. Best tasting McDonald's I have ever had! The meat on my quarter pounder with cheese actually looked and tasted like real meat. The onion and pickles on the burger tasted fresh and were crispy. I would actually crave McDonald's if the food was always this good. I placed my order on-line but when I picked it up through the drive-thru, the order was missing a few items. The lady at the drive thru tried to accuse me of not paying for my food a previous day when i've payed every single time i go there almost every morning. then tried to make me pay for it this time around. when one she shouldn't have given me the food if i "didn't pay for it" and two accusing someone of not paying for their food is extremely offensive. Caye, my four-legged buddy, was accompanying me on a long drive cross country. We had time to kill before getting to our accommodations for the night, so I thought I'd grab a small order of French fries and some cold water so we could park in the shade and relax for a few minutes in their little lawn in the back so we could both stretch our legs. I think entire wars started and ended before we actually got the fries. The line in the drive through moved at a glacial pace. Frankly, I'm not too sure the person taking orders had enough brain cells that actually functioned because I had to repeat my order, "Just a small order of fries and a cup of iced cold water, please" about 8 times. And because I really hate to leave just negative reviews, at least go to the back and enjoy the tiny little picnic area that has grass, shade and seating available. read more

Went in for breakfast snacks and it was great. My food looked good and watched an oatmeal prepared right in front of me. The service was very entertaining. I watched Sonya promptly take care of every order in a most fascinating manner. She was everywhere making sure it was all done properly. Her attitude and actions really mad it a great morning. For the road-weary traveller cutting through ramshackle towns, a McDonalds can be welcome relief. Otherwise, it's the crap shoot of mom and pop places, and in a town like Elko, sketchy roadhouses, dying Chinese joints and dubious diners abound. As far as McDonalds go, this one is slighty under-par. But, as far as Elko goes, I'd wager to say it's damn near top notch. There's a huge play area for the kids, and self-serve ketchup and soda ensure a well-lubricated esophagus to accomodate squished bunfulls of cow and chicken product. Service was fine for me, the order tasty and hot. The restaurant isn't terribly clean, but not terribly filthy. No changing table in the men's room, but Ashton Kutcher is working on this so it's just a matter of time. read more

I want to start by writing that I think 3 Stars was pretty generous in my part. As many people said "orders will be messed up". Double check your food before leaving. Wife ordered a chicken sandwich with specific instructions of no ranch sauce and guess what?! There was ranch sauce! (Wtf?!) She went back to change it and said that they were nice about it. I kept it simple with Mc doubles and kids got chicken nuggets. Bathroom was literally "crappy". Went into the stall and as you'll see in the pic...barf! When was the last time this bathroom was cleaned? I'm not expecting for McD's to be a five star quality dining establishment but jeez!!! I'm expecting it to be in pretty descent shape. I want to come out humming "I'm loving it" rather than "what the hell did I just see/smell?" Anyway, that was my Elko McD's experience. I don't see myself ever going there again. read more

I had a disgusting experience at this McDonald's when I was passing through town a couple weeks ago. I ordered 2 large drinks, a diet soda and a water. I drank most of the soda, and opened the lid to find 4 small gnats/flies swimming in what liquid was left. Who knows how many I swallowed. I opened the water and there was 1 more in there. Both drinks were in my car as I was traveling. No way I could have missed seeing bugs crawl in while I was driving. I made a corporate complaint. And I was sent (by the management company in Carson City) and coupon for one free ice cream cone. I'm insulted and disappointed. I will never visit this location again. Awful! read more

There are two McDonalds locations in Elko. The Idaho Street location is by far and away the worst of the two. This location is consistently slower than any other McDonalds I've ever been to. At one point, the drive through personnel didn't even respond to my attempt to order. So I just drove off. As I was passing the drive through window, I saw several crew members standing around laughing. Save yourself the headache and visit the other McDonalds in town. read more

When we started ordering, the guy keeps saying WHAT and in a little loud, mad-like kind of voice. January 15, 2012 Sunday - lunch 10:45 AM 2 adults Atmosphere - 3 stars Food - 4 stars Service - 5 stars Background - Driving across country and just wanted something hot and fast. We were early since the whole time zone change driving west. Atmosphere - This is an older McDonald's. Looks like they crammed in the soft drink and condiment station afterwards as it would have been a tight squeeze if someone was there and you were trying to get to the counter or out that area. The bath rooms were clean but you can see their age. Really the whole place just needs to be updated Food Appetizer - Really at McDonald's Main Course - We wanted to try their new McBites which are small version of their Chicken Selects, similar to popcorn chicken. They also had a great new habanero dipping sauce, it was mild for me but it is nice change to see a restaurant offering that. A little too much breading on them but what do you expect. I also got a Spicy & Hot Chicken sandwich; it was a breaded piece of chicken with lettuce. The breading was red suggesting it was a try buffalo sauce. There was a little heat at the end of each bite but these were not worth the effort. The fries were not over salted and were tasty, as you would expect fries here should be. What is nice about going during off hours is that everything is cooked for you, and that does make everything at McDonald's much better. Dessert - We skipped this as we were in a hurry to get back on the road. Service - Our cashier was friendly and working hard. Future - Why not, it is all about the speed here. read more

This one not only was dirty, but the manager, who was a dirty, fat, rude woman, told me to get out of her restaurant because I didn't have a mask. The kids liked the play place, but the food was horrible...even for McDonalds. Service was the slowest I've experienced for fast food (16 minutes), the staff violated food handling policies twice while I waited (at the ice maker, and at the iced tea dispenser...), the employees were completely disorganized and dirty...
