This restaurant is POORLY managed! When I initially walked in I had to use the bathroom so I proceeded to be "buzzed" in. To my utter dismay and disgust, the bathroom was a mess. Vomit or Shit on the floor of the first stall along with some "other suspicious things". Dirty floor and dirty toilet in the second stall. When I went to the soda machine the ice was barely coming out, there was trash in the drain and the pop/water was spraying all over as if the machine was poorly maintained. ordered online and went through the drive through and they told my friends and I we had to come in because we couldn't have more then one mobile order in a car which weve never had a problem with before, but that not really the issue. We came in and ordered and waited around 30 min and asked if ours was almost out and they said it wasn't even started. The food is up to McDonalds's standards as far as preparation. I like the breakfast food quick and solid food. The drive in staff are usually helpful and friendly. One guy with 'respect' tattooed on his are is a real character and is fun to chat with on the way through the drive in. Where I have a problem, is 4 out of 5 times I order my breakfast here, is execution, incorrectly seems to be the order of the day. I order without pig product for religious reasons. So when they mess my order up I have to throw it out, and at breakfast time I do not have time to go back and get it corrected. My husband and I were needing to find breakfast for over twenty family members who were in town for a funeral and staying at a nearby motel. We placed a huge order at 7:00 a.m. for 25 breakfast sandwiches and half as many orange juices. The third shift staff was polite, professional and incredibly gracious...and the manager was a strong leader. We had our food in hand and were on our way back to the hotel in no time at all. It's been a few years so I thought I'd update my original review. This McDonald's is still the spot. You now need to ask for permission to use the bathroom, and you'll still probably find some leftover drug paraphernalia inside. Although in my original review I stated the food was normal McD's, I've decided it's worse. This is the only McDonalds where I'm almost certain they'll ring you up for cheaper food and pocket the difference if you're paying with cash in the drive-thru. This is a very shady McDonalds. Across the street is the bus station full of other shady citizens, as well as the probation office on the other side of the corner. They're having a very difficult time keeping out homeless, thugs, and crazies. But to be honest, whenever I've gone there the service was great. Why bother going to fight night when you can come to the west kalamazoo st McDonald's! The last time I went to this location, I saw a manager telling an employee to do get back to work while she was on her cell phone ignoring people in the drive through window. They then started yelling at each other and throwing kitchen items and customers food at each other, then ALL OUT FIST FOUGHT BEHIND THE COUNTER! After a couple employees pulled them off of each other, the male manager and the female employee started working again as if nothing had happened. I waited 20 min for my food (5x longer than advertised for a mobile curbside order), had to call before they finally started it, and when I got it I only received half the food on my order. I show the guy the order on my phone which clearly showed more food than what I received, and he says well this is all you got, then walks away. I knew it was going to be a long day of studying, and I don't own a car on campus so I decided to DoorDash Mcdonald's. It took over an hour for my food to get here, all because the service is painfully slow. My first dasher headed to this Mcdonald's and almost 15 minutes later had to message me and tell me he was leaving because the line was too long. Okay, that's fine. The next dasher did the same. After I noticed my third dasher being at the store for so long, I decided to message him and ask if my order was missing or something. He told me that it wasn't even busy, they were just EXTREMELY SLOW. That was fine, but I was too hungry at this point to be able to focus on studying properly. I clarified my order with him, and he reciprocated. About 20 minutes later he shows up to my dorm and explains that that Mcdonald's is notorious for having terrible service. They are constantly slow and always get the orders wrong. I get back to my dorm, excited to finally eat, and they got the order wrong. I called the Mcdonald's 3 times to see if they accepted refunds. No answer. At this point I'm just hangry and absolutely frustrated with this terrible service, but I suppose they're living up to their reputation. Keep up the great work. read more

This review is primarily to the "private owner" of this McDonald's. I have gone to this McD's for years and trust me it's way better than the one on Riverview. But I have recently stopped going there and will never return. Its a shame, and a loss for me because the staff have always been great and my food was good each time. Its in a rough area and I give a lot of credit to the staff !! BUT the owners no longer take super book coupons. Ok, first of all how much profit do you make that you can't honor a coupon ? But second and more importantly the super book is sold around Kalamazoo area and helps out with local causes. I buy my book from the Optimus club and they help children get back backs for school. So by being greedy owners you are not only upseting regular customers but turning your back on local charities. You should reconsider your choice. read more

This is a super shady McDonald's. Even though there is a seating area and places to eat, they only offer 'to-go' and provide no trays. This is most likely because the restaurant is filled with people sitting in all of the chairs not eating. I felt very unsafe being there and would not recommend going inside. read more

Refused to shovel their sidewalks and a man in a wheelchair had to go out in the street to get past their business. When I called, the manager brushed it off as if it was no big deal. They said they'd take care of it, I drove by later and it was STILL NOT shoveled!!! I reported this store to the city amd I called the corporate office. They have a complete disregard and lack of compassion for people with disabilities!!! On top of the violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and discrimination against people with disabilities, this store also is constantly messing up people's orders. They often serve cold stale fries and make food wrong. By far, this is the worst McDonald's in Kalamazoo county. If it wasn't for the fact that it's next to my work, and my students like to eat out from time to time and this store is the only thing close, I'd NEVER go here again. read more
