I honestly don't go to McDonald's anymore for a variety of reasons, not least of which is their massive decline in service and offerings - for example most of them have removed the drink machine stations to make it intentionally more difficult to get refills when you eat-in. But, I have kids and sometimes I'm outvoted by them. For dinner time the drive-thru line actually ran pretty quickly and I don't have any complaints about the food - outside of it being typical McDonald's food and not exactly gourmet. It wasn't the friendliest service but it was functional. Mostly I just dislike the entire chain these days, and as someone that eats plenty of fast-food it takes a lot to put me off an entire chain. read more

First of all I used the app to save $ but it wasn't working. I told the cashier the app wasn't working and wanted to use it to save 20%. It was given and thank God. Then my fries was missing and that really tick me off as I have to drive back from my Vrbo place to pick up the missing order. As soon as I walk in I told the Hispanic manager that first, the app wasn't working but later resolved then I stated that my fries was missing and he stated that he did the order himself and could not made that mistake. I told him I wouldn't drive all the way here to pick up my fries and lie about it. The manager then stated that don't yell but I had to state my case. Apologize for the mistake first then state your own case. I have been taught when I worked at McDonalds to appease the customer and not escalate the situation. Then he insist that he didn't make the mistake and threaten to not refund me if I not yell at him. He thinks I was trying to get free fries but why would anyone return on just trying to get free fries. The look on his face irritated me as assuming I was only there tho berate him and receive free food. The audacity of stating he is right and us customers wrong isn't the right way to resolve a conflict. With that said the fries was deliver and I said " Thank you" and he said "I appreciate it" and I was waiting for a thanks but not given. (I should have saved the receipts from this one.) I'm not sure how to rate this brief McD's experience. We rolled in here a little after 10pm two Mondays ago after seeing the Lost Colony show looking for some dessert products. Two McFlurrys and two hot fudge sundaes are ordered for a total of $9.87. Sounds easy right? Not quite. When we got to the window the shift supervisor/manager is there and she said that they had too many ice cream sales and that what was coming out the machine was watery/runny. We could either wait 10-15 minutes, order something comparable (what that would be I don't know) or park and wait for a refund. The group was sort of restless so I chose the refund option. We park out front next to two other cars that looked like they were waiting for ice cream or refunds as well. Give or take 10 minutes later a young guy comes out and starts talking to me in Spanish. I give him my best no comprendo after which he apologizes and restarts in English. He asks if we're the car waiting for the refund. I said yes. He holds out his sweaty hand and has a refund receipt along with $15 balled up. I ask him if he's sure this is for us since we didn't pay that much and he said his boss told him this was ours and not to worry about it. And with that we drove to the nearest Harris Teeter and used our "profit" on a 4-pack of Sundae Nut Cones for $3.59. Thanks McD!! read more

Got food poisoning from here, sweet tea was burnt, service sucked, chicken nuggets was hard as a rock

I see some terrible reviews here however I've never experienced anything but good service in this location. Admittedly I'm only in here about once a year when I'm either headed down to Avon to do some fishing or on my way home. This visit was the same as any other. I arrived around 4pm on my way down to Avon and there was maybe 2 other people in line before me. I ordered my meal which was a Big Mac with Fries and a Coke. The employee's at the counter were friendly. The meal came out quickly. It was hot, it was fresh, it was accurate. It tasted delicious just like it's supposed to. Also I've noticed since my last visit that the dining room has been remodeled. It's more like a lounge now with cushioned sofas and booths and there are also combination tables with both a bench & chairs. They also had some higher up tables like you find in coffee shops. Some of the walls have a faux rock design. Very nice redesign indeed. It's very comfortable and inviting. All in all a great visit. See you next year. read more

Went here on 6/6/2022 as part of our north carolina vacation. My family and I were very hungry, as we were out and about all day. Drive through was very crowded, so we went inside. Inside wasn't much help as there was no cashier. With my help, my dad and I used the kiosk to order. We ordered 24 chicken fingers, and 1 large and 1 medium chocolate shakes. There was a long wait after ordering in the drive through. After they cleared whoever was holding up progress, things moved quickly. Ordered three happy meals and when I got them home for the kids, I saw blue tape IN one of the drinks. Not sure why or how that got there. Typically I'm met with a sour attitude, rushed through my order, and then if I add anything at the window, they tell me I should've said that at the speaker they just rushed me through. The time this all started was 11 pm, so Let's talk about this 24hr place... 1. They didn't take our order at the order screen, instead we had to drive up to the pay window to give our order. 2. We had to pull up to the #1 waiting area because they were cooking the food, so that's not as important as it is that the fact that you had (employee 1) Black male with dreads(guy who took our order) with (Employee 2) black male (who does who knows what), out front smoking weed from a white car that pulled up. 3. So 30 mins goes by ok by all means it's not life or death we only just spent $40 for 4 people that are hungry and plan to drive 2 hours home at night. So (Employee 2) brings us half of our food not know we had another half and didn't know we wanted sauces. So we tell him the sauces. And then he comes back with only one of the sauces we asked for and only of the second half of the order so we pulled back into line to get the other half and the sauces. 4. So now the time is 12 am. We pulled up right behind the white car from earlier you know the pot head friends. Pretty positive they didn't pay for food we only seen them pull up and them then start getting handed drinks. So with in the more minutes of us sitting there we got to see 1. (employee 1) hanging out the window laughing and talking 2. (Employee 2) hanging out the window after (Employee 1) walked away.... but don't worry he have the girl his phone number.... we are so proud that he won't be alone on his life journey. 3. Then people in a Jeep drove up asking if they were open. Buuuut the girls in the white car told them they were closed... but I was very confused what 24 hrs ment to this place 5. My co-worker suggested we go here for Saturday morning breakfast before heading to work. We arrived about 8:30. We went inside to find 20+ people in line. the double drive through outside was also busy. This location has three registers, and all three were busy. While in line I observed the crew, which seemed to be going through their duties, but at a normal pace - not hurrying to speed the lines inside and out. I ordered the steak mcmuffin and a bacon egg and cheese mcgriddle, The wait time for my order once it had been placed was very minimal. This is of course a tourist heavy area in the summer, and the familiar Golden Arches are a choice for many visitors. I would feel this McDonald's would benefit with more staff at the registers to help the customer lines move quciker. read more

The restroom was absolutely horrible, I was in the Army and I almost puked when I walked in this nasty place. Looked like 16 6 year olds had sword fights in the same John.
